While we're excited about the changes, there are some obvious trade-offs (such as fewer medium-sized events such as Easter). The summer event is going to be cool (and, hopefully, will start a little earlier than usual this year and last longer) but that also means we don't have enough time to work on Easter. However, we do have the current item contest and will have at least one or two small events between now and the summer event. It'd be great if we could keep all the traditional events but don't assume they're gone forever. In general, we are working hard to have more - and better - events on Gaia
