Booky and porygon hit the ground kicking up a silhouette of dust. And as it settled the pokemon were revealed. Booky looked worse for wear, but the labboys porygon was still going on strong.
"Hahaha...this battle is over," The labboy chortled, as Venerax gritted his teeth in silence. "Finish it, porygon. Agility and then tackle!"
The grim set of Venerax's face turned into a smirk hidden by the darkness. "Booky use foresight."
The porygon began to move again flying forward with increasing speed to slam into the badly bruised hoothoot. But then the little owl pokemon's eyes flashed white. Just as the porygon was about to strike Booky leapt out of the way. He pivotted on the surprised virtual pokemon in midair and landed a sharp peck on its head. The porygon tried again and again, but the results were all the same. It was quickly wearing down porygon.
The lighthouse illuminated Venerax's broad smile. "You should have gone with a different strategy."
"ERG! Porygon use Conversion 2!" Was the labboy's only response.
The porygon's body began to spark and glow yellow. Even as it continued to strike Booky, who continued to peck the porygon.
"So your porygon made itself an electric type to protect itself from Booky's pecks," Venerax continued to smirk. "Its only delaying the inevitable."

Back in the pokemon center, Sam was again sitting with Meagan. She had already eaten, and Star was in the process of healing. The officer had come and taken her statement. Now she had nothing to do but wait...
"Ya know, you could make things alot easier if you caught another pokemon." Meagan blew a large pink bubble. It popped rather loudly, and covered her face.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, if you have more then one pokemon, you could have two instead of one, and then if your first one faints, you can send in the second to take down the opponents weakened pokemon."
"Uh yeah, duh." It was an obvious strategy.
"Well you don't have another pokemon, so I figured you didn't know. Like here..." She plucked a ball from her belt. This one was normal. "Come out, Bella!" A small green and yellow pokemon appeared. It red flowers on its head. Sam pulled out her pokedex.
"Bellossom, the Flower pokemon. When the heavy rainfall season ends, it is drawn out by warm sunlight to dance in the open." The Bellossom was indeed dancing, looking quite cute.
"See? So now I have two pokemon, and both are strong to water. So I battle anyone who has one water pokemon, I'm certain to win," she said confidently.
"Well then I am certainly NOT battling you." Sam said, remembering Star as a Water-Ground type.
"Oh don't worry. It wouldn't be fair of me. Look." She pulled out a shiny case. She opened it to reveal a shiny pin of some sort, teardrop-shaped. "This is the Cascade Badge. You get it for beating Misty in Cerulean City. This battle was really easy cause she has all water-types." Sam had never seen a badge up close.
"I never knew they could be so...pretty." Meagan laughed.
"Well not all of them are. Like the Plain Badge from Goldenrod. It may be shiny, but it's just a plain old diamond. I guess that's why they call it the Plain Badge."
"Excuse me, Miss?" Sam looked up. It was the Nurse. Star was wiggling in her arms. "You're all set to go." Sam took Star.
"Thank you very much. All of you. I should be heading out. Where's a map I can look at?" The Nurse pointed to the far side of the room. "Thanks." Sam walked over, and studied the map. The Route leading towards Pewter City was marked as 'Route 2' and lead straight through a place called 'Viridian Forest'. "A forest? I've never been in a forest before. Come to think of it, I haven't seen much trees at all in my lifetime. Only the ones I've seen over the past couple of days."
"Mud?" Star didn't understand what forest meant.
"A forest is a place where there is alot of plants, mainly trees. I bet there are alot of grass pokemon there."
"Mu..d?" Star knew grass-pokemon were not her friend, by any stretch of the imagination.
"Calm down, you can take them I'm sure. Maybe we'll even capture a pokemon there." Sam picked up her pack.
"Well let's get going then."

"You think you've won, but I decided to take your advice!" The labboy crooned.
Venerax arched his eyebrow. "You did? So you're just going to give up?"
"WHAT?!" He bellowed back angrily. "NO!"
"Well that's the only advise I can think of that I gave you," Venerax shrugged. "Its our turn to end this. Booky use Hypnosis."
"Hoooooooooooooooo..." Booky began to sway and bob from foot to foot infront of the porygon. Its large eyes luminous. "oooooooooooooo..."
"Hehe...I knew you'd switch it up," He pushed up his glasses smugly. "Use psybeam porygon!"
"No! Booky stop..." Venerax called out to his pokemon.
But it was too late, as the porygon jumped back and sent glowing multicoloured rings of psychic energy crashing into the hoothoot and sending it tumbling back.
"Booky return!" Venerax recalled him.
"Hahaha! You lose!" The labboy cackled in triumph. "I'll be seeing you bumbler."
"Not so fast," Venerax stopped him as he turned about. "We're not done."
He drew out his another pokeball. "Time for you to see the real future, labrat. Calculus c'mon out, lets show him why he was the longshot for this match!"

Brawly had settled down at this point and was standing in his usual spot against a wall, waiting for his challenger and his pokemon to return. apparently his two trainers had taken some sort of detour because he hadn't seen them yet. He took one look at his challenger and started to laugh. This guy was taller than the other guy, maybe even as tall as he was. "Either there are three of you guys on this island, or you're the guy that came earlier." He said jokingly, stepping forward. "Sorry about making you wait, but I had another challenge earlier. My name is Brawly, and I'm the leader of this gym. I'm afraid my normal pokemon aren't here yet, and even then I'm not sure I'd want them to battle so soon. The last guy really gave us a work out! All I've got right now are some of my stronger pokemon I've raised, not typically the ones I'd use for a first time challenger. But my friends told me you were really tough, you already have a badge that 'll let you use Flash and everything. You're a tough looking dude, maybe the normal set of pokemon wouldn't really be a challenge anyway. What do you think dude, up for it?"

The lighting in the forest was dim only a few patches of the bright sunlight from above filtered through the thick foliage above. The sound of Pidgey's could be heard chirping above and over all it was a pretty peaceful day in Viridian Forest, that is if you ignored the loud crashes that were ringing through the forest.
*CRASH*
"Hmm you certainly are the aggressive one." A calm voice pointed out the obvious as he stepped away from the angry looking pokemon.
In front of the boy was a powerful looking Heracross that looked like it was ready for a fight. It's large horn was lowered slightly as it eyed the human across from her. The wings on her back fluttered slightly, she was watched with excited eyes, it wasn't often she saw people wonder into her territory and she was ready to get him.
"Well, it looks like I am not getting through with out a battle." Reaching into the pocket on his jacket he pulled out three things, a pack of cigarettes, a lighter, and a premier ball. Taking one of the small white sticks out of the box he put it away the carton before lighting the cancer stick up and taking a long drag from it. "OK then, let's give you that battle." He muttered as he put the lighter away and expanded the premier ball into his hand. "Turn A lets go." Releasing the pokemon from it's confines to show a unusually graceful looking Porygon.
The man made pokemon took in the situation with ease as it's body glowed as it Traced the Heracross's ability. Turn A calmly waited for his new trainer to issue an order to him, the two hadn't been together for very long but he had still been with him longer then his first trainer.
Seeing that she had a new opponent the Heracross let out a happy screech and dashed forward her horn out in front of her. The large and hard looking horn started to glow black as she slashed it upwards hitting the Porygon right in the chest. Upon impact the electronic pokemon stumbled back a few places as the Heracross gave a happy cry at her hit.
"Turn A use Recover."
Now that he had been given an order Turn A started up his maintenance program and he felt his injury's from the previous attack start to repair themselves. That hit had done a large amount of damage and Turn A would prefer not to be hit like that again. Maybe he should try to take some evasive action into measure to insure that he stayed intact.
Heracross watched the strange pokemon start to heal itself from the attack that she had just issued. That wasn't fair! None of her other opponents had ever healed themselves before. Well, if that was the way that they were going to play then she was just going to have to hit them a lot harder. Growling slightly she flew forward her large horn glowing again as she skillfully made to strike again only this time with a Brick Break.
"Turn A Conversion." Was all the trainer said as he saw the powerful bug start to charge forward again. Taking another drag on the burning stick in his mouth he watched as Turn A, he still had no idea what the hell that was supposed to mean, changed his type just in time. He was still hit but the damage was going to be much less now. Yes it was just how he had predicted, Turn A had a lot less damage now, he had no idea what type he had changed to but that really wasn't to important right now. "Turn A how about we go on the offensive, use your Psybeam."
They were going on the offensive right now? Well that was fine with Turn A. Setting his mode from defense to attack he felt his mindset change slightly, all ready he was looking for the best way to do the most damage to his blue opponent. Yes Psybeam was a good choice, a beam appeared right in front of his blue nose and it headed right for the Heracross hitting the pokemon right in the chest.

The entrance to the forest was intimidating. Large ancient trees stood guard over small openings. Sam had been standing before one for almost 5 minutes, staring. She had seen drawings and pictures of forests, but had never paid attention to the statistics of the types of trees and...height.
"Should we....go in?" Sam looked down at Star. Star gave her a look that clearly said 'No way Jose!'. "But we have to! It's the only way home..."
"Kiiiip..." Star whined. Sam picked her up, and crossed the line. It felt almost tangible.
"Here we go," Sam said uneasily, the sunlight doing nothing to get rid of her dark, foreboding, feeling.
The feeling didn't lessen as she got deeper in. Star was walking alongside. She had seen flocks of Pidgey flying above her, and had also seen many other types of pokemon. Caterpies and Weedles were crawling on the forest floor. Kakunas and Metapods hung from the branches. Butterfree and Beedrill were guarding those trees, Butterfree scattering various powders, and Beedrill brandishing vicious looking needles. Sam didn't want to get anywhere near them. She sped up a little. She wanted to be out of this forest as soon as possible. Not focusing on really anything but her apparent case of claustrophobia, she kept tripping over rocks and plants. She caught herself most of the time, and Star was able to dodge her when she did fall.
After one such incident, Sam wiped her palms off on her dress. It was really dirty by now. She turned to move the rock she had tripped on this time, but couldn't find it. However, she suddenly was aware of a sharp pain in her shin. She looked at her leg, expecting to find a small cut. Instead, she found a spiky chestnut stuck in her leg. She felt tears in her eyes. It really hurt...she reached down, and gently pried the chestnut out of her leg. Some thorns were still stuck. She set the chestnut down to pull the thorns out. Star was grooming herself a couple of feet away, in a small clearing. Sam heard rustling. In her mind, she saw her ears perk up. Her imagination did that alot. Sam slowly turned to her side.
She saw a white fluffball with legs and arms. It was back turned to her, so she had a full view of it's tail. It made scratching noises. Sam slowly reached out to touch it's shoulder (well where she thought the shoulder should be), and see it's face. She had a good idea what the pokemon was, but she had to see it's face. A little voice in the back of her mind said it was a bad idea, but she paid no heed to the warning. She lightly touched it...and it swung around, swiftly kicking Sam in the shins, exactly where the chestnut had been. Sam cried out in pain, and grabbed her shin. The Mankey held the chestnut in it's hands, and rage burned in it's eyes. Sam looked up at it. It certainly wanted to hurt her. Star had heard Sam cry out, and came bounding out of the clearing. The Mankey, surprised, scampered up a tree with it's treasure, and quickly swung from vine to vine until it was out of sight. Sam, panting on the ground, watched it go.
"Oh I am so going to get you! You stupid little Pig Monkey! I'm going to get you!" She quickly rose to her feet, but wobbled and sat back down. "Right after I bandage my leg I guess."

As the ferry left the Dewford port and sailed westward back to Slateport, Crenu found solace in the same spot he'd chosen on the way there. Leaning over a railing and drowning out the sounds of people behind him who were also making the very same voyage. Their reason for island hopping? Who cared. Instead he thought about the battle he had just had. He had lost Poliwhirl after two rounds and Hitmonlee was near his limit. Ariados was pretty much alright, maybe able to operate at just above half capacity or so, maybe more after the rest. If it weren't for those Thunder Punches Hitmonlee might not have needed to be brought out in battle, but with Ariados still in the holster it seemed that victory at the Dewford gym was inevitable. "Looking at it from a bigger perspective, that gym battle wasn't all that difficult. I may have a hold on them for now, but I think this badge will only keep the reigns on Hitmonlee and Poliwhirl for a bit longer before they start acting out again. Another badge may be in order, the sooner the better." Crenu began to wonder, what was it about the badges that made pokemon obedient? Perhapse they were made of a special ore, perhaps something much more complicated than that was at work, or something even simpler. Then he started to think, what about Contest Ribbons? Winning a contest had to on par with winning a badge in difficulty, maybe even more so. And there were trainers who worked only in the contest aspect of pokemon training, what about their pokemon's behavior once they grew stronger? Could it be that the ribbons also held properties that made pokemon obedient? What if there really wasn't anything to the badges and ribbons, what if it was just the act of persevering with their trainers and accomplishing some sort of goal that reassured pokemon of their trainer's worth and allowed them to continue following their orders. The whole concept began to sound ridiculous, but it would appear that the facts didn't change. "If memory serves, Celedon is a large city with multiple districts and shopping center, similar to Goldenrod. I believe that is where trainers headed for the Kanto League obtain the Rainbow badge from leader Erika. I don't know much about her other than that she uses grass type pokemon, it would seem that my knowledge of the Kanto region is also lacking. In my quest for unrivaled strength I mustn't forget to do as much research as I can, information is key for any and all of my strategies." Crenu continued to stare out into the ocean, the ports of Slate port starting to come into view in the horizon.

The bug and fighting type pokemon gave a sharp cry as she went flying back and crashed into a tree. Ouch! That had really hurt her! Picking herself up she shook the dirt and leaves off of her smooth shell and glared at the strange pink and blue pokemon. It was certainly a strange one, and it was powerful to! Though she had a feeling that this pokemon was getting most of its good battle techniques from the trainer. In fact now that she thought about it the weird pokemon didn't even really move around or do anything unless the trainer told it to move. Oh well this was still one tough pokemon taking orders or not! Buzzing up her wings again Heracross flew across the arena her horn growing a bright blue as she dove into an Aerial Ace attack which like always struck true.
"Well I thought that you would have been taken down by that one Psybeam. Looks like I was wrong, you still have some fight in you. Still you wont survive a second round." He thought aloud before taking another drag. As he watched Turn A gracefully take another hit a thought came to him. "Hmm actually, I think I am going to catch you." What could he say he was impressed not only that she took the hit like a champ but she stood up and attacked again, even when Turn A was just much more powerful then she was. Yes he was sure he liked this pokemon and she would do well for his team. "Turn A use Signal Beam." He figured that while the attack was more powerful Heracross was resistant to bug types attacks, he might just get lucky enough- wait a minute, there was no way he would be lucky enough for that to happen.
Looking over at Turn A a slight frown on his face he realized it was to late to retract his order. It had taken him a little while to figure out that Turn A would go through with any order he issued and there was no chance to retract said order. Cursing he ran forward and pushed Turn A as far as he could to the side just as the beam fired off. The blue and red beam soured through the air and managed to clip the Heracross in the leg before smashing into a tree.
Heracross watched with wide eyes as the human ran forward and tackled his own pokemon just as the beam was fired. The human was pretty skinny so the Porygon didn't move to far but it gave Heracross enough time to try to dodge the attack. Unfortunately for her she still got hit in the leg, the attack was powerful enough that she wouldn't be using that leg for a while unless she got lucky enough to find a bunch of Oran berries. Things were not looking good for her.
"Come with me."
The calm voice of the human in front of her said as he held out a pokeball in the palm of his hand. Opening her eyes Heracross stared at the ball in front of her and then up at the calm humans face. Come with him? Of course! She had been bested in battle and if that is what the victor wished then that is what she would do! Grinning the Heracross reached out and touched the pokeball. In a flash of white light she was sucked into it, there wasn't much rocking before it settled down and she joined the new and somewhat fragile team.

“Sonova…”
Kenneth winced as he sat up, rubbing the back of his head with a string of grumbled curses. He’d smacked his skull against the concrete during his fall, and this made the third time in 48 hours that he’d managed to whack his head. The knuckle bruises on his face didn’t look as bad as before, but now he had a lovely goose egg on the back of his head to match. “Smooth, Kenneth, real smooth,” he growled at himself.
The teenager clambered to his feet. His gaze settled on Gator, and he ambled over to the Totodile. He knelt, scooped the creature into his arms, and headed back towards the Pokecenter.
He found himself looking down at the critter’s pained face. Kenneth’s lips pursed. This was my fault, he remembered. God, that was a stupid thing to do.
“Welcome!” Nurse Joy’s cheery greeting rang out from behind the counter as she bowed. “How can I…Oh my!” She emerged from her station and scurried up to meet Kenneth.
“He got zapped,” the teenager explained tightly. “Can you help him?”
“Of course,” the nurse said, gently extracting Gator’s limp form from Kenneth’s grasp. “Does he have a Pokeball?”
“Um…” Kenneth blinked at the woman for a moment, ever so slightly lost. “Oh. No.”
She smiled warmly at the teenager. “You have a very strong bond with him, don’t you?”
Well he still thinks I’m his momma or something, cause… “I was there when he hatched out of the egg.”
Nurse Joy nodded, giving Kenneth a knowing smile. “Don’t worry. We’ll have him right as rain in no time. Why don’t you take a seat in the meanwhile? You look like you could use a little R&R yourself.” She gestured to the couch against opposite wall of the Pokecenter. With one last reassuring smile, the nurse took Gator and disappeared into a back room.

Kenneth let out a sigh, turning to the yellow-upholstered sofa. He blinked again, giving a pause.
“Oh you gotta be sh*tting me.”
Right there on the wall, pinned above the couch, was a Town Map. Kenneth hadn’t seen it before because couch and map were on the wall adjacent to the front door, and he’d been facing Nurse Joy’s station on his last visit.
Buy a Town Map in the Pokemart, she’d said. Screw that. He was short on money as it was, and anyway, he needed to save up to pay his mom back what he owed her.
The brawler’s blue eyes darted back and forth, scanning the Pokecenter. He opened his ears and froze, listening. No one else was in the Pokecenter. No sounds issued from the back room; Nurse Joy wasn’t about to come popping out any time soon.
Swift hands removed the four thumbtacks keeping the map on the wall and dropped them behind the couch. Kenneth folded up the map and zipped it into the front pocket of his backpack.
He unslung the garish red-and-yellow pack and tossed it and his own gangly body onto the couch.
She might not even notice that the map is gone, the teenager mused, sprawling out on the couch and resting his head on one of its arms. Kind of an airhead, that one. Dying her hair pink must have fried her brains.
The minutes ticked away. Kenneth glanced continually at the door to the back room, seeing nothing and hearing nothing but the soft tick, tick of the clock on the wall. He sighed a couple of times, shifted a couple of times, but the minutes didn’t fly by any faster with the movement.
She could at least have the decency to give me an update, he growled to himself, instead of keeping me in the dark like this. Damn that pink-hair-for-brains woman. She’s not even THAT good-looking.
After a while, the pain in Kenneth’s various knocks on the head, as well as the soreness from getting electrocuted, demanded that he stop shifting about. He lay still, and the longer he did, the more his eyes drifted shut.
When Nurse Joy emerged from the Pokecenter’s back room, she found Kenneth dozing on the couch, mouth half-open and one arm flopping off the edge. The Totodile in her arms squirmed, eager to get back to his trainer. She smiled down at him and put a finger to her lips. “Shhhh.” The nurse tiptoed up to the slumbering teenager and gently deposited Gator onto his stomach. Kenneth didn’t so much as twitch.
Gator, now fully healed, let out a happy purr, curled upon Kenneth’s torso, and sighed contentedly.

"How... am I going to get out of this?" the redhead whispered, staring blankly at the ground where Shiva had fallen. Keegan still clutched the Sealeo's Pokeball tightly in his white-knuckled hand, the alien emotion of fear starting to dredge itself up in the pit of his knotted stomach. Only when the Aggron let out another bellowing roar did he look up, wincing as he watched the agile Golduck evade another electrified punch that had been sent her way. It was obvious that these guys weren't kidding around, at least when it came to Pokemon, and Keegan swore to himself that if it hadn't been for the slug-fest yesterday, he would answer them back in the only way he knew how. The aching trembling of his already battered and bruised body was like a mocking laugh ringing in his ears, and he exhaled sharply, glaring at the titan in steel. Steel... that's it, he thought desperately in a moment of clarity as he snatched a Pokeball from his belt with one hand while snapping Shiva's back in place with the other. Aggron's a steel type... it's glaring weakness has been staring me in the face the whole time!
It took more effort than he liked to send the sphere flying, and in a flash of light Helios stood before him, his nine tails moving fluidly around him as he quickly sensed the tension in the area. His ears perked up as he saw Althena under attack and the Ninetales adopted an offensive stance, ready for whatever command Keegan was to give him. "Use Flamethrower, Helios!" the redhead shouted, firmly grasping hold of any courage that remained within him. If he lost his cool now, then he'd be sure to lose all his Pokemon, too. His crimson eyes glowing brightly, Helios dashed forward, flames leaping from his mouth as he loosed a tremendous torrent of fire at the Aggron, who'd once again taken a swing at Althena by means of a Metal Claw. The Golduck let out a cry of pain as the claws tore into her and she was sent back by the Aggron's power, though she did get a birds-eye view of the iron-clad giant receiving a blast of fire to its chest. This was Helios' first battle since his evolution yesterday afternoon, and Keegan found himself marveling at the increase of power in his friend's attack.
The Aggron roared savagely, slashing at the air with its claws as the fire died away, leaving a blackened patch on its chest plate, but it didn't seem to be deterred, or even overly hurt, in the first place. "Aggron's also part rock type!" the Aggron's owner shouted. "It cancels out its weakness to fire! Maybe you'd better go back to trainer's school," the thief laughed tauntingly, and Keegan's face became flushed with anger and embarrassment. The thief then looked over to his partner, who nodded and tossed a Safari Ball out onto the field, revealing a very anxious-looking Tauros. "This is your last warning, punk! Give me that Skarmory, or you'll lose everything!" ===== It's over, Miharu thought with a small sigh, closing her eyes as she finally allowed herself to relax. We did it, our fourth badge... Smiling, she opened her eyes as Blanca approached her, rewards in hand. "Thank you, Blanca," she said, giving a polite bow after she'd accepted her badge and other winnings. "It was a pleasure battling with you. I'll never underestimate the normal type again." That last statement was quite true - while normal Pokemon seemed to be quite plain at first, it soon had became apparent that they were a very versatile type indeed. The fact that they could learn so many different TMs was a big advantage in itself.
Tingle, meanwhile, was hovering quietly beside the tired Blissey now that the battle had ended, and the strange, metallic Pokemon seemed to be rather enthralled with her, now that they were no longer battling. The Metang noticed its trainer receive her rewards and knew that it was time to leave, and he did, but not before gently patting the Happiness Pokemon on the head and waving goodbye to her and Blanca alike.
Miharu felt as though a weight had been lifted from her shoulders as she stepped out into the bright sunshine illuminating Goldenrod City, and she looked down at the sparkling, diamond-shaped badge in her hand. "Four badges," she said to herself, closing her hand around the small badge. "Four. C'mon Tingle, let's get to the Pokemon Center. You and the others need some TLC after that intense battle." Tingle nodded as best it could, and the two were off, heading towards the center of town.

Running was very difficult for him. His bad leg was very hindering, but when you were on a rush of adrenaline, it was possible to do things that you never thought you could. Yet that rush quit on him before he reached the beach. Suddenly, Kilik felt himself get picked up by something sort of prickly - it was Cable! The trainer looked up at his Electabuzz and smiled. He was proud to have such a Pokemon on his side. Before he knew it, he was on the beach, and Cable put him down. He glanced around, wondering what that roar had come from. His eyes caught Mitsu standing a few feet away. "H-hey!" he called out, limping over to her. "I heard something coming this way. I wanted to check and make sure you were oka--" he froze when he saw the Gyarados. Kilik gulped.
"Cable, you may want to get ready." the boy whispered, snapping his fingers. The Electabuzz took a step forward, his fists ready and crackling with electricity. The chance to fight something so big and so deadly was a bit of a thrill. No more was he that cowardly lion. Plus, Gyarados were supposed to be strong, right? If he could win in a fight against a Gyarados, he'd definitely prove that he was a lot stronger than Napalm! Kilik and Mike and the whole world would know that for sure!
Aggron approached them as well, scanning the beach for a foe. He noticed a Gardevoir, Houndoom, and Ivysaur in the distance. They'd be easy pickings. A low growl emitted from his throat before he noticed the looming shadow of the Gyarados. Yes, now that was a foe!
"Ready Cable?" Kilik asked, "Use Thunderpunch!"
-*-
The man who had brought them into the round table discussion was a smooth talker. He wore sunglasses and dressed entirely in black. He looked at his mismatched group of trainers that he so called his organization. "If none of you were aware, Mazarin had apprehended our beloved target, Kyoka." There was a small amount of cheering before Wesker slammed his palm on the table, "Silence! Then he let him get away! Fool!" Mazarin put his head down on the table and whimpered quietly. "So the problem now lies in 'Where do we find Kyoka?' and 'How do we take him down?' We know that he's extremely dangerous."
"Afta seein' what he did ta Maz's wings, I'd sah-tun-ly say so," Moody said, with a laugh. Jill also let out a massive howl of laughter, which made Mazarin shrink deeper into his seat.
"Yes, a loss that we will all have to cope with," Wesker grumbled sarcastically. "Now if we could FOCUS on the matter at hand?" Mazarin propped his head up.
If I didn't know any better, I'd say he's just like Giovanni, only working for the good guys. He doesn't take the crap that Giovanni doesn't take and I've seen both of them in battle... Mazarin closed his eyes. If the two of them were to battle each other, I think... No! He stopped thinking. It was too much awesome for him to comprehend. The group began to throw around ideas while Mazarin balanced a pencil on his nose, occasionally looking down to see if they were still talking and spouting useless ideas that would never in a million years work.
"I got an idea," Mazarin said, "He knows who I am. If I could...lure him out," he stood up to illustrate the situation and the pencil fell onto the floor, "Y'know - hook line and sinker, because Milo is a sucker for violence, and he's out to kill me - then the two of you, Moody and Jill, come out and take him down. I think that's the easiest thing to do." He looked among them.
"Well?"

"Kilik!" Mitsu shouted upon seeing his half beaten body not too far off. Her smile however soon faded into a panicked frown. Thunderpunch, why?! Nightmare, despite the extensive therapy and training he had done under Touya's care was still a bit traumatized when it came to that crackling sound of electricity, especially when he could see it coming from the Electabuzz's fist.
Nightmare roared, the howl an agonizingly loud one. Thinking fast Mitsu shouted, "Karri, Protect!" The Gardevoir teleported in front of Cable, his fist colliding with a hard green barrier. Her eyes were hard and serious, not the usual carefree and flirtatious ruby orbs they normally were. Rarely was she this serious right off the bat. Don't even think about attacking again, she said telepathically.
Nightmare roared once more, already beginning to lose control, slowly but surely. Mitsu bit her bottom lip before recalling the Pokemon into his Pokeball, the red laser missing a few times as the Gyrados continued to thrash about in the ocean. "You'll be okay Nightmare," she said softly to the Pokeball once he was returned safely, "Shhh."
The purple topped girl looked up, thanking Karri and recalling Ivy and Sapphire leaving a very confused trainer and an upset little boy to trudge off into the distance having found out their efforts at obtaining a blue Houndoom had been in vain. Mitsu looked to Kilik, "Geez, you didn't have to scare the poor guy to death," Mitsu said a small frown on her face, though she wasn't too upset.

"Uh... buh?" was all Jaeshan could think of as a reply to Brawly's response to his challenge, and the tall blonde just stood there for a moment, taking in what had been said. He knew without a doubt that Nidoking and Butterfree, and even Shelgon could take on whatever Brawly threw at him, but he wasn't so sure about Combusken and Metang, though. Either way, it was Brawly's gym, and Brawly's rules, and Jaeshan knew that if he didn't give his Pokemon a chance, they'd never forgive him for it. He thought of the Kanto badge case stowed away in one of the pouches of his backpack, and the three glimmering badges - the Boulder, Cascade and Thunder badges - that lie within. He stood tall, pushing away all the nervousness that threatened to engulf him, and he grinned at Brawly, not at all off-put by the surfer's lingo. "You bet," he said finally, pushing the unruly blonde hair from his eyes. He'd been looking forward to this match since his win over Roxanne, and he decided that a change in the style of play wouldn't ruin it for him. "Bring it on!"
((I marvel at the suckiness of this post. O_o))

Riza arrived at the Lilycove waterfront rather quickly, as it wasn't hard to find it in this place. Like yesterday, today was beautiful, sunny, and rather warm. Riza shivered despite the warmth she felt on her arms and shoulders, and she looked around the small beach she'd discovered. It was dotted with fairly large rocks and shallow pools of tepid water, and Riza could easily guess that the tide was out, and that this small beach would be swallowed up by the water once the tide came back in again. Riza found a nice rock to sit on and did just that, setting her bag on another to keep it from getting sand in it, though she knew that she did this in vain as she was still finding sand in all her belongings from her beach day yesterday. Ralts hopped down from her shoulder and wandered around in the sand at her feet before becoming interested in a pretty seashell. Riza watched the little psychic Pokemon, unable to stop herself from smiling at the cute Pokemon's antics. Who knew she'd grow to like these creatures so much, and so fast?
She then let Sneasel out of her Pokeball as well, laughing as the dark and ice-type winced from the bright sunshine. Riza decided against letting Corphish out, as she thought that Ralts had suffered enough insult at the claws of the sassy crab. Soon Ralts and Sneasel were happily playing in the shallows, gathering more shells to add to the one that Ralts had discovered earlier. At one point Riza did take the golden-yellow tm disc and use it to teach thunderbolt to Ralts, very surprised to see the shining disc turn to a dull grey and crumble away to dust after it had served its purpose. Sneasel had looked on with a very jealous glint in her eye, but let it pass. She too knew that Ralts needed all the help she could get, though she hoped that next time Riza bought a tm, it would be for her.
Some time later, Riza looked up as her two Pokemon seemed to have discovered something and were now trying to get her attention. The raven haired girl had been staring off into the ocean, startling now and then whenever one of those large, round and blue Pokemon (Riza's pokedex told her that they were called Wailmer) would jump up out of the water and land again with a tremendous splash. "What is it?" she asked finally, swatting away Sneasel's paw as the dark-type had been tugging anxiously at the hem of her skirt.
"Sneasel snee!"
"Ralts, ralts!" the two both cried, then pointed in unison. Riza followed their gaze to where a red Pokemon not unlike the Corphish she'd caught this morning was scuttling across the beach, wearing a rather vapid expression. Riza again held up her pokedex, waiting to see what it would say about this strange, crab-like Pokemon. "Krabby. This River Crab Pokemon lives in sandy burrows on beaches. Its pincers will grow back completely if they are broken off during battle."
"Krabby, eh" Riza commented, snapping the black device shut. "Well, I don't need any more crabs on my team, but maybe we can battle it. Let's go get it, Ralts!" she said, leaping up off the rock and pointing at the crab. "Use your swift to get it's attention!" Quite happy to obey, the little psychic jumped up as well, sending a volley of beautiful, golden stars headed for the unsuspecting river crab. * * * * * Both Katie and her opponent had run out of patience with this battle, and each wanted it to end, for their side, obviously. The girl commanded her Staravia firmly, showing that she had been doing this for quite a while longer than Katie had. Katie didn't care, however. She wanted so badly to defeat this girl and show her a thing or two. "Okay Genki, if it's going to attack like that, try to jump on its back!"
"No!" the girl shouted, but it was too late. The Staravia was already speeding in for another attack and it didn't have time to change it's course. Genki crouched low and jumped up, managing to land gracefully on the back of his winged opponent. "That's not fair!" the girl shrieked.
"Well neither is telling me all your Pokemon are weak, then sending out a strong one once my Pokemon are weak and tired!" Katie countered. "Genki finish it with a thunderpunch!" The Chimchar's fist flared with electricity and he did not hesitate to slam it into the Staravia as hard as he could. The bird let out a pained shriek and it spiraled towards the ground before it landed with a thud. Genki jumped off just in time and landed gracefully nearby, though he was so tired he could barely stand. That battle had lasted for ages, it seemed. The girl said nothing, just glared at Katie before she recalled her bird and stomped off into the pokecenter. "Good riddance," Katie grumbled, picking up the tired Chimchar and cuddling him in her arms. "You were great, Genki! You sure showed them a thing or two." Genki nodded tiredly and leaned up against Katie's shoulder, nearly falling asleep. Katie sighed and headed inside the pokecenter as well, deciding to ignore the brown haired girl. The place was relatively empty and Katie stood off to the side, waiting for the girl to be finished before she carried Genki over to the front desk. "My Chimchar and Starly need healing, please," she said, trying to be polite.
"Certainly," said the ever happy nurse, taking the single poke ball and Chimchar from Katie. "Shouldn't be too long, why don't you sit down?"
Katie nodded and sat down on a chair near the window. The day was still early but she didn't know what to do with it. Sighing, she closed her eyes and leaned back in her seat. How busy the day had been so far.
