She took a drag slowly on a cigarette she had just lit, watching the filter burn before her eyes for a moment, and then she heard Alasdair's voice and turned slightly, one eye on him. The smoke drifted slowly out of her mouth, and a slight grin made its way to her face. "Evening, love."

“What the meaning of hiring those knights? Do you not trust that I can take care of them? I will kill her, I don’t care if you have a contract with her” Alasdair spoke slightly agitated, but his voice was low and loving, it was as if he was truly hurt. His violet eyes looked at Kaei from head to toe. He took a few steps closer towards Kaei, but his new long hair was bothering him. He was not used to his hair being all the way down to his waist, but since it was so straight it really did not bother him that much. Alasdair felt the darkness rushing through his veins flow harder than before, probably the blood of the knight.

The moonlight shines slightly on the curves her face as she approached a couple holding each other in a secluded part of the City. The leaves from Central Park and and the dim light overhead from the street lamp left the lovers in near darkness, yet neither moves. "Did you hear that?" says the female, inching closer to her love. He tightens his grip on her waist, refusing to admit that there is a presence around them, somewhere in the shadows. Isabelle grins to herself. They are completely unprotected. Her muscles tense to spring, her eyes sharpening, the darkness crowding around the street lamp at her command, muffling the beam. The couple are officially spooked and that just makes her fangs itch to bite even more. Isabelle presses four fingers into the dirt, the knuckles turning white, ready to spring. Then- "Hey, lovebirds!" another human yells, Isabelle smiles more deeply until the crowd follows that human. There is a huge, raucous party group coming toward the two loves. A silent growl escapes Isabelle's lips as the drunken, smoking group makes their way into the now brightening light. Her fangs slip back into the roof of her mouth, and she disappears back into the night.

Rogue did not turn fully to face him, but her eyes lit up as if on an emerald fire. She sensed something different about him, and it was something she did not like. The words he spoke did not ring true. The vampire elders did no such hiring. The woman had clearly shot Rogue out of nowhere. Did Alasdair really forget?
"Hiring of knights...? I do not believe you know what you are saying. They are just as much our enemy as any other race, or traitor. What has happened to you, and what is so different. I smell it on you."

Alasdair took a couple steps closer to her; he opened his eyes wider and just stared down at her. “I saw it love. I saw her making deals with the elders. She knew our names, she knew our races. I saw it”. How could Alasdair be acting like that, he loved Kaei. He could not be sure yet, but in his five centuries he had never felt so happy with someone. He knew he would hate himself for all eternity if his actions affected the way Kaei saw him, but at that moment Alasdair could only think that he was betrayed. “ I saw it”

"You saw it..." She lifted a brow, but did not turn fully to face him. Her eyes were still afire as her mind extended and felt his aura. He drank from her. It was the only way, yet none of what he 'saw' was true. It was a trick, and it was most likely a psychic's trick. She had heard of it done, to implant false blood memories in order to gain trust. She didn't know exactly how that...huntress had done it. "It is not true, and I give you my word. There are ways to give false blood memories, Alasdair, and she is not our kind, and she is not to be trusted. And you have no reason not to mistrust me. You also have my blood memories, and many more to assure no trick of mine." Her eyes burned brighter for a moment as the void pulled at her, him being so near. Her torso spasmed very quickly, almost unnoticable. One side of her face was scratched deeply as she had just encountered a smart lycan before she came to this alley. He had scratched the side of her face, only he had a glove over his hand that excreeted a UV liquid. Her face would not heal for a while, as the four deep gash marks tried to stop bleeding.

How could Alasdair be so stupid, of course Kaei would not lie to him about stuff like that. How could he dare trust a woman that had tried to kill him the night before. Alasdair was so relived he just wanted to hug her tightly and kiss her. But as he moved closer to her he saw scar marks on her gorgeous face. Since she was an elder, a normal scratch would heal almost instantaneously, but since it looked like it wasn’t healing it must have been serious. Alasdair bit his tongue as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her lips. ‘I’m sorry I doubted you my love’ Alasdair told Kaei mentally as he kissed her.

Rogue kissed him back, but then pushed back slightly as she felt the void try and wrap itself around her own mind instead of body. She felt it trying to gain control, and was trying so through the rip across her face that would not heal.

Alasdair felt as Kaei pushed him away softly, it obviously wasn’t to literally push him away but he got the message. He took a few steps back keeping his violet eyes on her. “What’s wrong Rogue?” Alasdair was confused; she had never turned away his kisses before. Maybe it was all the darkness running through his veins, but he didn’t see how that would change the taste of his blood. Maybe she didn’t want his memories…There where so many doubts running through his mind that Kaei was probably able to pick them out of his mid without even having to try.

The void was overwhelming, and she felt his hurt, but did not want him to feel that way. "I'm sorry..I..." She did not wish to lose control, but she wished to comfort him as well, and that desire clearly won out. She moved a bit closer and kissed him softly, then more passionately. Her fangs extended in her mouth, as her own wounds made her crave blood, though she was not quite conscious of it. She pulled him closer and put both hands to each side of his face, and ran her fingers through his long hair.

Alasdair felt her hesitation, she obviously felt uncomfortable with his darkness. Under different circumstances he would drain the void from his body, but he could not. He kissed her passionately; his self inflicted wound had already healed by the time he kissed her. He kissed her passionately moving his arms to both sides of her face. He softly placed one hand on each side and gently pushed her head back. He looked deeply into her emerald eyes. “Mi amor…Tell me what is wrong. I can take it.”

She had felt his thought while they were so close, not quite meaning to pry. "It is not quite your darkness...it is my own." She thought quickly to the diamond, and how the void obviously had something to do with it, and before it, she had fought the void and more often than not, she had won.

How could Alasdair rid her of her pain. There had to be a way for him to help her. Maybe she could give him her darkness and he could give her some of his power. Or maybe his power would help her control the void. He really loved Kaei for many reasons; one of them was that she could read his mind. Words were never Alasdair’s strong point then he felt as though he left his mind’s door open just for her. “There must be something I can do to help” Alasdair really just wanted to help her, at any cost.

Zeig had entered the city. He was looking for something to take the edge away from him but he also needed to feed. He quickly turned down an alley. he stopped as he sw Alasdair and Rogue."Well well.....Alasdair. I'm suprised to see you....." Zeig glanced at Rogue. He was very much angry and he was sure they could tell. He drank from the woman and saw what Alasdair had seen.

Alasdair turned around and saw Zeig, he grinned as he looked at him. “I knew it was a lie Zeig…My baby would never do something like that…I told you she would rather hunt them herself.” Alasdair still held Rogue, so he kissed her lips softly. He then looked back at Zeig.
