"Hey, I didn't want to do any explaining." Bakura said, running a hand through Rei's hair. "She would give me dark looks and big old 'I'm disappointed in you' speeches. By the way, how was it? Does she like you?" Akila and Mariku reentered at that point, with Mariku looking slightly stunned, for whatever reason. Akila seemed proud of herself, and without saying anything to her guests, went into the other room, plopping down on her bed to get some sleep. Mariku sighed, scratching the back of his head as he watched the woman. "She is insane. Goodness. I don't know how she did it, but somehow I'm watching you for free." He said, sitting down in the doorway, leaning against the cheap wooden door.

Rei blinked at mariku's comment and laughed "Lovely." shesaid. she then looked back bakura '"Well...im not really sure.."

"Not sure about what?" Mariku asked casually, checking his pockets. Bakura glanced over at the blonde. "Nothing, just something we had been talking about. Hey, I meant to ask you earlier, what's your name?" "Mariku." The said man responded promptly, settling back down, rubbing his head again. "I used to have a last name, but I think it's gone now. I came here with my sister, so I'm pretty sure we're both kicked out of the clan by now. Don't worry, though, it's nothing you two need to know about. If you're very, very lucky, you won't have to meet her."

"She can be a bit... intimidating, I guess. She's not that bad, you know, but..." Mariku shrugged. "It would be different if she were older or younger than me. But our parents were cursed with twins. Or blessed. However you want to look at it." Mariku glanced over at the two babies, having been briefly been told about them from Akila. "Eh, well, I better stop talking. Akila said she would hang me by my thumbs if you two didn't get any sleep. That woman is astounding."
[Care to skip a little bit? Just to morning? It's the middle of the night now, so it'd only be a few hours.]

In the morning rei was gently cuddled up to bakura therechildren beside them.She was fast asleep.

Bio: Born the identical twin sister of Mariku, Shebi can't help but possess a bit of his qualities. She was born to a clan of tomb guardians, but that didn't stop her from leaving their home and going out. She happened to come across the priest Seto once, and has a crush on him. She is intimidating at times, but is otherwise quiet and reserved. Recently she was called on by Seto, and was more than willing to go see him. Mariku went with her, for protection. The clan saw this as betrayal, and now they are banished.
Appearance: Similar to Mariku. She had blonde hair that hangs midway down her back, and pale lilac eyes. She is tall, and rather curvy, as a woman should be. After having lived most of her life amongst her hidden clan, she enjoys being free, and often wears elegant outfits and golden jewelry.

If he was there, perhaps. At some unknown time during the night, Bakura had managed to slip away. He must not have used the door, because Mariku had fallen asleep against it, and hadn't been woken up at all. He did, eventually, wake up when the light began to shine in his eyes. The first thing he noticed, after yawning and stretching, was the lack of the thief king. He swore, perhaps a bit too loudly, and jumped to his feet, wondering where the hell he had gone wrong. Meanwhile, in the palace, Atem had been waken up earlier to go get prepared for the day. It could be a long process at times, and he dreaded it. He had left the bed without waking Nanu up, deciding that she deserved her sleep.

Nanu loved the extra sleep. She normaly was forsed to get up right as ra rose,no matter how late she had worked the day before. Nanu curled up tighter to the sheats where atem had laoid mumbling slightly.
Mariku's yell woke the children who started crying. this crying woke rei up. Sighing she quickly picked trhem up rocking them back to sleep.

Bakura loomed besides the pharaoh's bed. The b*****d was gone, but that was perfect for Bakura. He hadn't come for the pharaoh, not this time. He carefully climbed onto the bed, careful not to wake the sleeping servant. He watched her carefully, watched as her breast rose and fell with each breath, as her lips softly moved in some sort of sleep-speak. He straddled her hips carefully, placing one hand on her mouth in case she woke up and tried to yell or anything of the like. "Sorry." Mariku said gruffly, quickly heading out the door, wondering how long Bakura had been gone without him noticing. The village was just waking up, but there was no sign of Bakura. He knew that the thief would be obvious to see in a crowd, with his trademark red jacket and white hair. He entered the house again, swearing under his breath, before looking to Rei. "Did you notice him leaving at all?" He knew what the answer probably would be, but didn't exactly care.

Nanu Was still asleep. She hadent noticed the hand on her mouth yet.It was soft so it hadent woke her...yet.

Mariku exclaimed angrily, stomping around the room, seeing if there was anything he needed to grab. After pocketing his personal knife, he headed for the door. "I'll be back. Rei, you're gonna have to stay here. Remember what that lady said about getting rest." Mariku was hardly determined about anything, but he had been given one job. One simple little job, and he failed that. He was going to make it right, no matter what. Besides, all he had to do was find one guy and bring him back. How hard could that be? Bakura removed his hand slowly, seeing that the girl hadn't woken up yet. He gently brushed the hair from her face, looking at her for the first time. he couldn't blame the pharaoh for going to bed with her; this creature was beautiful. He gently traced her lips with his finger, before running his fingertips along her neck. She was young, but would soon fill out completely. For now, her body was unmarked by aging and other difficulties of being a woman. No lines on her face, no scars, there was little that proved she was imperfect. Soon, though, there would be change. Being the pharaoh's future wife, as he had recently learned, she would be expected to bear children. Her life would grow easier, and weight would be gained. She would probably stay inside, and her skin would fade from its glowing bronze to a lackluster tan. For now, though, she was beautiful.
Bakura had to smile to himself as he went over her details in his mind. He could change this. He could change her life. With one knife alone, he could mar that pretty face of hers. He could burn her skin, break her bones, leave her hideous. The pharaoh would forget why he had wanted to marry such an ugly creature, and she would be forgotten. Unable to work properly, she would become skeletal from hunger and struggle to earn a living doing only the work people gave her from charity. Yes, he could ruin her. And why not? Surely she had done nothing to deserve such a perfect appearance. She had been graced by the gods, and gave them thanks by becoming the pharaoh's whore. He could tell her to be more thankful, but it would be a better lesson if he showed her. Still... he was unable to stop himself from appreciating the beauty of what he saw.
The scene before him was perfect, a portrait of a goddess sleeping, perhaps, but Bakura didn't mind putting an end to it. He needed to remember why he was here and what he needed to do. Pulling his arm back, he slapped Nanu sharply across her face. It was so loud that for a moment Bakura was afraid that someone outside might hear and come in to find out what was going on. He covered her mouth again as he turned to look towards the door, but nobody entered. He then turned towards his intended victim.

Nanu let out a cry as she slaped but the sound was muffled.Her eyes opened and went wide when she saw bakura hovering over her. She started to squirm trying to pull his hands off her mouth.

"Heh... glad to see you haven't forgotten about me quite yet." Bakura murmured, bending closer to her face. He kept his hand clamped down firmly over her mouth. "Now, I know you told. I had been so nice in allowing you to live, and you went off and spoiled my gift. It makes me quite sad, you know. Here I thought we might be able to be friends."
