Rai smiled and ran to catch up. "Ummmm... S.S. I have a question. Can I just volunteer to go last or something. I want to fight your water clone. The only way to become strong is intense training and strong opponents right? I mean I don't mean to sound disrespectful towards the other students. I mean... Probably everyone here could beat me. Still I want to fight against someone stronger still. Plus don't you want to see your investment not go to waste S.S.?" Rai smiled more as he followed S.S. (Saitou-Sensei) up the stairs. He bounced on his toes as he went up.

Kuri smiled as he heard Rai speak of his goals. He knew exactly what Rai meant. It seemed almost sick that children would be sent to a school where they teach to how to kill and cause pain to others. But the truth of the matter was that without kids like them, there would be no village to call home. "My mother was a medic, Rai-san. You don't do nearly as much killing as someone like my father. He was a hunter. You defend the people of Kirigakure while I strike at the heart of its enemies. Just by making that choice, you've taken a giant step towards your goals. Me, I've got a really long way to go. If I want to become a hunter like my father, I first need to climb the ranks to Jounin. My journey may be longer, but yours is nobler by far."
Post saying his piece, Kuri turned his attention to Andou-sensei's instructions. His head perked up at the mention of Taijutsu. Taijutsu was the stepping stone to Kenjutsum and that made Kuri really interested. "Haha, I'll race you up there, Rai-san!" Kuri laughed as he bolted past Rai up the stairs. Kuri had missed Rai's spiel about wanting to fight the water clone, but he did take something Rai had said earlier to heart. He had a rival. That meant challenging one another to become stronger, faster, and an all around better shinobi and person.

[I don't foresee a lot of posting from me in the next few days, so... naturally, have a battle royale fun spar!]
Andou continued up the stairs at a moderate pace and saw Kuri race ahead of him. Well that guy was into it! Well, he was into swords if Andou remembered correctly so it made sense for the physical attacking arts to appeal to him. As for this little one right here...
"Hmm. I suspect you aren't ready for my clone just yet," Andou commented as they finally reached ground level. "Why don't you show me what you can do against somebody else first. Fighting me will be a sort of... extra credit assignment."
When they reached the academy exterior training grounds Andou said to Kuri and Rai and whoever else had managed to reach there on time, "Well, why don't you discuss amongst yourselves and have a practice spar? I just want to see what you can both do. This will be taijutsu only to keep things fair. Besides, sometimes you find yourselves in situations where you don't have any chakra to spare. Don't hesitate in punches and kicks. At this level nothing too bad will happen. Of course, if you have your opponent in a death lock, don't execute the killing blow," he finished in a deadpan voice. "Try not to kill each other... take a break when you both need it."
Andou settled down under the nearest tree to watch the carnage.
To Attack: d20 + Melee Attack Bonus To Dodge: Dodge Bonus (no roll)
To Trip: d20 + Melee Attack Bonus vs. Dodge (no damage) If that succeeds, roll a Str check vs. opponent's Dex. If you win, you successfully trip the opponent. If you lose, your opponent has the chance to trip you with d20 + his Str vs. d20 + your Dex. If tripped, character loses -4 to their attack rolls and Dodge/Reflex. Standing up takes the equivalent of 1 Dice Roll [1 turn].
To Grapple: d20 + Melee Attack Bonus (Grapple DC) vs. Dodge Grappled people cannot move and can only escape via Escape Artist check or Strength check (to break out of grapple) After a successful grapple each turn's damage is Taijutsu damage (starting turn after grapple is made).
Taijutsu damage: 1 - 6 + str mod + Taijutsu skill bonus (check Skills thread, I believe it's +1-2 damage per 4 points).
20 is a critical hit (double damage). 1 is an auto-fail.

Rai nodded at S.S. and smiled at Kuri. "Guess I'm facing him after all." He stopped dead in mid step. He wondered what he was doing but ignored his gut and walked up to Kuri holding out his hand. "Just you wait Hunter. I'll show you what a future Medic-nin can do" He spoke hoping that he wouldn't fail to bad in this match and disgrace himself. He smiled again. "I am glad I am fighting you first. I want to see what you can do." He stood there and watched Kuri and hoped his fear didn't show. He fought the urge to flee. His stomach felt a mix of fear and excitement. Which was odd. How could anyone be excited to fight?

Mizuiro grabbed a cloak for camouflage and decided to learn how to hide like an shinobi should. He got up against a wall and lifted the cloak above his head. He then utlized his chakra so that it transformed the cloak into the colour of the wall. He had yet to get the texture, but he would work on that.
"BOO!" He wanted to see if anyone could see him.

Mizuiro now decided to look to see how he was actually doing when it came to using chakra to change the appearance of the cloak. He faced the wall and held the cloak up to the wall. he then concentrated his chakra so that it would change the appearance of the cloak to look like the wall. It didn't have the exact shade, and the texture was poor.Mizuiro didn't think he would get it right away, but he thought he was doing well for now.

Rou was late for school. He would've blamed his father or even his younger brother for slowing him down, but the truth was that there had been a very adorable cat that he couldn't leave alone. Of course, his father had partially slowed him down by trying too hard to be his mother. Rou was however grateful, for the lunch that his father had made him. It probably wouldn't taste very good but it was made with love, Rou thought positively. It wasn't as if this was his first day of school, so Rou didn't think it was that bad of a thing.
Walking into the academy grounds, he spotted a few students and what seemed like a teacher talking. He walked closer and then suddenly stopped, wondering if this was actually the class he attended yesterday. Rou was unfortunately not very good with faces, and he barely remembered the students in his class. To be fair, he had spent the first day sort of sleeping.
He did remember the teacher, however. Finally deciding that that was indeed his class on the field he walked over, not quite understanding why there were only two people with him. "Um, I'm sorry I'm late!" He said nervously, making eye contact with the teacher and the two students.

Rai waited for Kuri to be ready or give a sign of being ready. He didn't want to attack a person who isn't ready. His head began to throb as he rubbed the side of his temples. The headache didn't last long thankfully. He smiled as the pain slowly subsided. Rai heard a shuffled and looked around. Thats when he heard a voice. He looked at the new comer and smiled. He walked over and held out his hand smiling like an idiot. "Hiya." Was all he said to the other child. Sure he could have done something more conventional but he felt like this was a better way.

The prospect of sparring with Rai was very exciting for Kuri. He didn't actually have any experience fighting someone his age and Rai wanted to be a medical shinobi so he wouldn't have to hurt people. So by the way Kuri figured, the match would be pretty even. Kuri put a little distance between Rai and himself, facing his rival head on. With a smile, Kuri prepared a stance that made him look like he was about to take off running somewhere. "Are you ready, Rai-san?" he called out as he held his right hand in front of his face, his index and middle fingers extended in the sign of Combat. His mother had taught him that before she died as well, the etiquette behind fighting one's friend.
He eased up a bit when he took notice of the newcomer, turning his eyes to him as he held his stance. "Hey, you're just in time for sparring matches!" the boy called out, his voice filled with excitement and zeal.

He turned to Kuri and forgot about the new person. He ran in front of Kuri but jumped back a few feet to give some distance. He smirked as he looked at Kuri. "This isn't going to be easy. I will fight as hard as I can though. I must..." Rai took a stance. His right foot turned outward to the right as his left foot pointed straight toward Kuri a foot ahead of his right. He watched his rival and made a mirror of the sign he was using. "Ready Kuri-kun." He held back his anticipation but couldn't hold back his smile. He was excited to be pairing off against his first friend in his new life, and his new future.

"Great!" Kuri replied, a s**t eating grin all over his face as he sprung backwards into the mist, "Then come get me." Kuri faded into the mist that was oh so common in Kirigakure. Kuri wore the two most extreme colors, Black and White, and both gave him advantage in the mists. Once he was obscured sufficiently in the mists for his taste, he took refuge behind a tree nearby. Now it was up to Rai's senses to help him find Kuriarare. Of course, that didn't completely mean that Rai was the one on the hunt, it just meant that he had better keep his wits about him if he wished to best someone who fought like a hunter.

Rai tried to follow Kuri but shortly after a few feet the other boy dissappeared. He looked around franticly. He wasn't expecting anything like this. He squinted the best he could, but he couldn't see a thing. He turned around and around till he only had a vague sense of where the school even was. He clenched his fists and sat there waiting. He strained his ears for the slightest sound. Nothing. He focused so hard his hearing began to ring and throw him off. He wondered where Kuri could be hiding. "Don't think you won cause you're a better hider!!!" He shouted then mumbled under his breath. "Although its a very important thing is to be hidden as a ninja... tch."

"I'm not hiding . . ." Kuri muttered as he peered out at his friend from behind a nearby tree. As Rai closed the distance between them, Kuri tensed before launching his assault from the shadows. "I'm stalking!"
As the boy spoke, he threw a swift upper to Rai's stomach. He didn't want to hurt his friend too badly, but he knew that if he didn't fight as if he meant to truly defeat his opponent, the spar would mean nothing to either of them.

Well, the two students were certainly very eager people. However, before Rou could even devise something clever to say back at the two, they had started the spar. Rou stood there and wondered what he was supposed to do, since there were three people. Well, Rou wasn’t looking too forward to sparring anyhow. He wasn’t very trained in it, and these two looked as if they had some kind of experience. The academy in Konoha had been somewhat disorganized, with the civil war going on and what not. It didn’t help that Rou was somewhat shy around the children, so he never got much done. This time at Kiri, he would have to speak up and volunteer to get involved.
He just wished that it wasn’t with sparring. He still needed to learn the basics of being a ninja, and he looked around for the teacher. Maybe the teacher could give him some sort of exercise to do while the other two sparred. Maybe something like, making those signs with the hands, or even just athletic exercises… Rou was naturally more comfortable with adults, growing up only near the presence of his parents and his younger brother. He would talk to the owners of the vegetable stands or even the noodle stands; they were always very friendly.
Making his mind up, he walked over to the teacher almost slowly, still doubting that the teacher would let him do something else. His teacher at Konoha always seemed to dislike him, up until the day he left Konoha. “Excuse me...” He stammered, his voice coming out louder than he sought to because of his nervousness. “I haven’t learned anything like what they’re doing. Is there anything I can do while they spar?” he asked, unsure of how the other might react.
