Kaori watched Kohaku train in Raiton for a moment before she smiled like the proud older sister she was and clapped,
“Great job Haku!” She told him with a bright smile. She watched him a moment longer before she turned back to her own training.
Kaori looked over the Fuuton scroll for a moment and then put it away once more. She focused her chakra into her hands and pushed it out of her palms. She traveled a few feet, but she didn’t have enough chakra, so it fizzled out. [1/2] Kaori forced more chakra into her hands, then expelled it once more, more determined, and this time she shot across the room, to directly under Knives. She grinned at her success, it had taken seconds to go that far. [2/2]
Kaori moved back to her original position and inhaled deeply while forming a single hand sign. She let the air in her lungs infuse with her chakra and she turned to look at some more dummies. She blew across her hand, it hit them, but all it did was make them wobble where they stood. [1/2] She inhaled deeper and closed her eyes as she mentally visualized her chakra mixing with the air in her lungs and forming a powerful stream of air. She blew across the hand sign once more and the wind rushed from her lungs and to the dummies. It hit, and lifted them from the ground, then were sliced in half. [2/2]
Kaori smiled and released the jutsu, the pieces of the dummies feel to the ground with a clatter, and she gathered her chakra once more. She formed it around her right hand and grabbed her scythe for this jutsu. She forced her chakra from her hand into the scythe, up to the blade, and then swung the weapon towards yet more dummies. the wind formed a claw like shape, but before it hit, it exploded, which while impressive in the damage it caused, was not what she had intended. [1/2] She gathered more chakra and infused it into her scythe blade once more, then swung again. This time the claw landed perfectly, and destroyed the wooden figures. [2/2]
Kaori let that jutsu go and then gathered her chakra for one more jutsu. She closed her eyes and imagined the wind and chakra merging and forming blades of wind. When she opened her eyes, there was one ‘blade’, but it was pale and pathetic, a complete lack of enough chakra to make it worth anything.[1/2] Kaori grumbled and gathered more chakra, then forced it to her will, it formed four swords, she was just learning, she didn’t want to cause any real damage, and they raced to one dummy. They surrounded it and sliced it to ribbons at her silent instruction. [2/2]

James leapt up to his feet from the last of the blows, still safe in his strong armor and nodded to his son. "I didnt think that that one would take much for you to have it down pat."
James looked over the scroll and then moved to the next technique.
"Alright, the next technique is a sidekick, followed by a crashing brush to clear any further guard or weapon, and then an uppercut to level them."

The young jounin nodded quickly, Theodin got back into his right hand stance, shifting his hips to throw a side kick with his left leg. As he landed with that foot, he brought his arm around and down as if clearing an arm and grabbing an enemy’s neck, pulling it down. As he pulled the head down, he torqued his hips, pushing off slightly with his rear leg to launch an uppercut where the enemy’s neck would be. (1/3) Making another shadow clone, Theodin tried the combo out on something a little more solid. He threw the side kick, folding the clone in half, then bound up the front arm and grabbed the neck. Pulling the head down, Theodin drilled his clone in the throat with an uppercut, causing it to poof away. (2/3) Turning to James, Theodin launched his side kick into the man’s stomach as hard as he could. Recoiling the kick, he planted his foot and swam his arm around his dad’s and grabbed the back of his neck. Finally, with a quick rubber-banding motion, Theodin whipped Jame’s head down and launched an uppercut from his hip into the big man’s chest. (3/3)

Knives chuckled and jumped down from the roof and landed his cloak billowing around him as he landed. He half joked to Kaori, "Sheesh they just give anyone Jounin these days don't they? I'll let you continue training this new genin before we start to the final stage of Sazanami. I've got all day, until I get sent on a mission. If I get sent on a mission that is. If not I think we have something we need to discuss later." Knives said moving back to lean against a wall while he waited, playing with a Knife in his hands.

James took the uppercut solidly, letting his son feel a sloid target that didn't fold from the blows, and spoke up when the combo was finished.
"Good, remember to try and time the rhythm of your opponents movements and reactions to ake your blows into collisions so that you maximize damage."
James looked over the scroll for a moment and smiled,
"ok this is the last one for the stage, and it also gets to mix in a little grappling. "I'm going to have you do your shadow clone again, and get the form right. I want you to brush away an incoming punch, and use the opening to shoot in and take your opponent in a joint lock or choke, land a few strikes to soften them, and then finish the lock."

Kaori turned and smiled at Knives,
“Oh! Yeah, practically giving the Jounin title away.” She said playfully before she motioned to Kohaku, “This is Kohaku. He is my little brother, though he has the gift of the Satetsu bloodline, rather than the Kihakugan like I have.” Kaori explained as she introduced Knives to Kohaku, ”Kohaku, this is Knives. The one I was telling you about, he’s the one who was helping me learn Sazanami.” And the one that Theodin had teased her about, though she wasn’t going to tell Knives that. Nova bounded over and rubbed against Knives’ legs and rumbled, “Come to flirt with Kaori and make her blush more? That’s always fun to watch.” Nova laughed. Kaori shook her head and shooed Nova, ”Go on you trouble maker. And we can talk right after I get these next jutsu down if you’d like?” Kaori suggested as Nova just laughed and darted off once more. Kaori rolled her eyes. She took her scroll on the Kihakugan from where Kohaku had left it and read it over carefully before she put it away and sat her Terrarium down. She closed her eyes as she focused her chakra. She reached forward and touched the Katon scroll she’d given Nova, she got the vague sense of someone, but nothing concrete. [1/2] Kaori released her chakra briefly before she gathered it once more and held the scroll in her hands, this time she could feel Nova’s determination, and her need to better heself embedded in the scroll. The emotions were strong, because they were fresh, but not so strong that they overwhelmed Kaori. [2/2]
Kaori turned to Nova,”Let me borrow you for a moment, I’m going to try this, and I want you to lie to me when I ask you questions, okay?”Nova nodded. Kaori smiled at Nova and used the flowers in her hair and the terrarium as her medium. She turned to Nova once more as she began to weave her chakra through the flowers, and then through the air, and around her partner, ”What is your name?” Nova huffed and looked at Kaori like she was stupid, “Hikari.”She lied easily, though Kaori saw a flicker of emotion in her eyes that would not normally be there while she lied. [1/2] Kaori sighed and pushed her chakra a little more into the air, and subsequently Nova,”Let’s try this again. What color is the sky on a sunny day?”Nova grumbled at the silly question, but she’d do anything to help her partner, ”Pur-Blue!” Nova had tried to lie, and she looked startled that she had felt the need to tell Kaori the truth so strongly.[2/2] Kaori smiled, ”Thank you Nova.”Kaori released the jutsu and Nova flicked her ears back before she shook herself and trotted off to do her own thing.
Kaori used a previously learned jutsu, Taju Karei Hana Soushi, and created forty-eight beautiful flowers, then used the jutsu once more and created another forty-eight flowers, for a total of ninety-six flowers for her use. Once that was done she focused on only forty flowers for the moment, the rest she would use later. She pushed her chakra, and the jutsu and pheromones, into the flowers and used them to amplify and spread her chakra. The air grew a tiny bit heavy, with a feeling of dread, but it wasn’t enough, wasn’t what she was hoping for.[1/2] Kaori pushed more pheromones and chakra out, this time the air grew heavy with unadulterated fear, everyone within five feet, she didn’t want to cause mass panic after all, of Kaori would become paranoid and fearful of every little thing. [2/2] She beamed at her success and released the jutsu, letting everyone it touched go back to normal.
Kaori gathered several of the flowers in front of her and closed her eyes, she focused her chakra into the flower petals and opened her eyes. She watched as it formed a shield, small though it was, but before she could even touch it, it fell apart back into the petals that had made it. [1/2] Kaori shook her head and gathered the petals once more and pushed more of her chakra into them, this time the shield remained in tact, it was shaped like the flower petals that had made it, and wouldn’t withstand even the weakest katon attack, but it would serve as a decent shield against most lower ranking attacks from other elemental jutsu, and if it didn’t stand up, she could still use the flowers with her other emotives. So it held many purposes. [2/2]
She released the shield and focused on all the flowers, or more accurately their petals, and let her chakra touch each and every one. They slowly began to float into the air, higher and higher. But before they were even a foot off the ground, she lost her grip on them and they fluttered to the floor.[1/2] She huffed, almost identically to Nova, and tried once more. Her chakra was stronger this time, and she put more into the petals. This time they began to float between the floor and around nine feet in the air, like a curtain of petals. Kaori could feel the difference in the pheromones in the air, the air was sweeter with them, and the flowers’ scent. [2/2] She let the petals fall once more.
Kaori gathered two flowers to her and formed the appropriate hand sign, the flowers warped and shifted under the influence of her chakra and slowly morphed into a pale version of herself. She reached forward, but the clone dissipated into petals before she made contact. [1/2] Kaori gathered the flowers once more, and then performed the hand sign once more. This time the clone was nearly identical to the average kage bushin. She directed it at one of the dummies and watched as the hanabushin attacked the wooden dummy and burst into razor sharp petals. [2/2]
Kaori let the flowers fall to the ground before she focused her chakra and formed the needed signs. This time the flowers rose in a spiral, though it was lazy and slow, since she was getting a feel for the jutsu. They surrounded a dummy, but fell before she could get them to do any damage. [1/2] Kaori blew a bit of hair from her eyes before she tried again, her fingers flowed into the signs easily, and the petals rose in a spiraling whirlwind that would obstruct the view of anyone within it, barring a doujutsu or special equipment. The petals themselves were sharp as a kuni, and just as dangerous.[2/2] She released the jutsu.
Kaori closed her eyes and cleared her mind of everything but this next jutsu, it would be hard to pull off. She began the needed string of hand signs and focused her chakra, sje could feel it seeping from her body as it became visible, then slowly formed petals. But it stopped there. The petals dissolved back into her normal silver chakra. [1/2] Kaori grit her teeth, but took a cleansing breath and tried again. She formed the seals, steadily, but rapidly, and her chakra rose once more, then formed the ultra thin petals, thinner even than the average petals or flowers that she could create. They were sharper than the last petals had been as well, and, if she’d done it right, could even cut through chakra steel. She moved her hands and opened her eyes to watch as the petals danced with the motion. She smiled softly and motioned to a dummy, and watched in fascination as the petals raced to their target and decimated it. [2/2] Kaori took a deep breath and released this jutsu as well, she was a little sad to see the beautiful chakra petals dissolve.
Kaori noticed that she had several flowers left, and she formed a string on signs. The flowers all gave up their petals. All of the petals began to glow dully. [1/2] Slowly, the dull glow became brighter and brighter. All of the petals were a bright silver with her chakra now, and slowly, then rapidly, they raced to one of the dummies left standing and engulfed it. There was nothing left to see, only the petals. [2/2]
Kaori released the last jutsu and closed her eyes to take a break for a moment, that had been hard work, and she was tired, but she still had so much more to do. She looked up at Kohaku and Knives and smiled softly, “So? What do you think?” She asked playfully as she wiped a bit of sweat from her forehead. She reached back and began to undo her braid, she was getting a headache and she wanted to prevent that so she could work some more after her break. She let her long hair, nearly calf length now she realized, fall around her in a wave of silvery-white and the flowers she’d had braided into it.

Theo went through the motion of the next technique like usual, thinking his way through catching an armbar across his chest. He’d finish by whipping the opponent around and swinging his arm up under the opponents arm and wrapping him into an arm-triangle, constricting blood flow to both the arm and brain. (1/3) Next Theodin tried the move on another clone. When the clone tried to punch, the original bush-blocked it away, moving in to wrap his arms around the clone’s neck, to choke it out. Slowly, the clone began to go limp, then poofed away. (2/3) Getting ready to try the move again, Theodin thought through it one more time, made another clone, then began to move. He knocked his clone’s’s arm to the side as he stepped around to its side, slamming a hook into its ribs to bend it over. Finally throwing a forearm strike at its neck that would collapse upon impact to wrap around to catch theo’s other arm, sinking into the blood-choke. Theodin held the coke again until the clone went limp and poofed away.(3/3)

Nova watched as Kaori trained for a bit. After her friend settled down, and looked like she was going to relax for a bit, she turned to her own training. She read over the Katon scroll and rumbled as she picked out several to learn. Nova padded a fair ways away from Kaori, Knives and Kohaku before she started her training. She used her tail to assist her in molding her chakra, then focused until it started to form a gas in the air around her.[1/2] Nova’s tail and ears twitched as she focused more, then watched as the gas expanded more, then she ignited it with a previously learned katon jutsu, and watched as it exploded. It would give at least first degree burns to the victims.[2/2]
Nova closed her eyes as she focused on her chakra and made it expand inside of her, the warmth grew with her chakra, until she was radiating heat like a furnace. By this time her chakra was completely visible to the naked eye, and writhed around her in shades of red, blue, orange and yellow, like living flames.[1/2] Nova opened her eyes and used her tail to direct her chakra once more, this time she made it expand out from her massive body and surround her in a sphere of flames. [2/2] Once she was certain she had the jutsu down pat, she released it.
Nova formed seals with her tail, identical to the previous set, though this time she added the dragon, ox, and hare at the end, changing the jutsu slightly. The sphere of flames wrapped around her, but instead of staying put, it appeared to fade out. [1/2] The flames wrapped around Nova’s shoulders, back, and front paws, where on a human it would have only been on their hands and shoulders. Nova felt renewed energy, like when Kaori had too much coffee or tea and practiced her Kihakugan on her. Nova rushed forward and found that with this jutsu active she was marginally faster. She lashed out with her left paw and watched as the wooden dummy she’d hit burst into flames. [2/2]
Nova deactivated the jutsu and ran over to Kaori. The large tiger then stole some shuriken from her Tamer partner and ran back to where she had been previously. She rumbled a laugh at Kaori’s bewildered expression, but quickly got back down to business. She used her tail to form the needed seal and breathed a stream of fire on the shuriken, then used her tail once more to throw them.[1/2] She’d barely put any chakra into the technique, mostly because it was extremely destructive if done right, so the katon chakra burned up rather quickly after hitting the dummy, but it did it’s damage, burning away to top half of it. [2/2]
Nova rolled her shoulders slightly and focused her burning chakra into another jutsu. She formed her chakra into a burning ball of fire, but it hid a surprise for anyone it hit. She hurled the, roughly basketball sized, ball of flames at a dummy[1/2] The ball hit the wooden training dummy and exploded, the gas inside expanded and created a startlingly loud bang, but was rapidly followed by a concussive force that was twice as strong as the bang was loud. The force of it sent several dummies in it’s range flying. [2/2] Nova flicked her tail and inhaled deeply, she could feel the chakra mixing with the air in her lungs and warming. When she exhaled, motion like a silent roar, a single stream of fire was released. [1/2] That wasn’t right. Nova huffed and tried again, this time she imagined the flames in three streams. She inhaled, the released the flames once more. This time there was three streams, all at a slight angle from each other, and they looked like snakes of flame. [2/2]
Nova briefly went over to the scroll and read through it once more to be sure she had the next few jutsu right before she attempted anything. Once she was sure, she went back to training. She focused on the flames that were so much a part of her chakra and molded them to her will. Slowly they became visible and became a swirling sphere of flames. [1/2] The flames were slow though, and not where they needed to be strength wise. So Nova focused more and watched as the flames sped up and became like a whirling hellfire. [2/2] She could use this both offensively and defensively.
Nova released the jutsu and focused on a new one. This time she inhaled deeply, imagined the warmth in her lungs as flames and air and chakra all mixed, then exhaled quickly, almost like a punch it was so forceful. But all that happened was a small gout of flame that flickered out before it could form a proper shape.[1/2] Nova frowned as much as her feline face would allow, but shook off the failure and tried again. She pushed more chakra into her lungs and then released it. This time the flames released were massive, and raced towards a dummy, incinerating everything, thankfully it was fairly empty, in their path before they hit the dummy and decimated it.[2/2]
Nova carefully focused her chakra for this one, she didn’t want to destroy the academy after all. She gathered chakra from her inner most core of fire, her deepest reserves, and used her tail to form the traditional Katon seals, but she ended, not with the tiger, but the ram seal. She them reared up on her hind legs, and slammed her front paws into the ground.[1/2] The instant her paws hit the floor a destructive wave of flames that expanded in a circle around her. It completely destroyed the dummies, not even ash was left. [2/2]
Nova focused her chakra one last time, and inhaled. Her lungs expanded to an almost impossible size, but she couldn’t hold it, she hadn’t gathered enough chakra.[1/2] Nova took a few cleansing breaths before she tried once more. She gathered her chakra into her lungs and inhaled, her lungs expanded, but this time she held it. When she exhaled, she exhaled a barrage of enormous fireballs that streaked through the air and destroyed a group of dummies. The power of this jutsu was enough to both start and end a battle if she used it properly. [2/2]

He turned to a nearby dummy and swung at it, certain he was going to him. He struck the dummy just fine, stinging his fist and groaned weakly. [Youma Tacchi [ Ghost Touch ] 1/2]
He recast the genjutsu on himself, focusing the chakra more and closing his eyes when he did. He clicked his tongue and opened his eyes. He swung at the dummy once more, this time, missing though, his hand went through the dummy. Smiling as he ended the genjutsu, Kohaku returned to the scroll. Reading the next technique that caught his eye, Kohaku charged the chakra in his body before casting the genjutsu on himself yet again. He looked around and realized nothing was changed. He frowned and began charging chakra yet again, eyes closed. [Kugurinukeru Meikyou [ Through the Looking Glass ] 1/2]
Charging the chakra, the boy envisioned it swirling around his navel before he cast the genjutsu upon himself. He opened his eyes and nearly toppled over. It was like he was looking through shattered glass. Nearly impossible to see, the boy ended the genjutsu and rubbed his eyes. [Kugurinukeru Meikyou [ Through the Looking Glass ] 2/2 learned!]
Moving on, Kohaku looked at the next technique. It looked painful and he decided just reading up on it would be enough. For a while, Kohaku sat down, reading the technique and then imagining him casting it. The boy formed the necessessary hand seals before casting it on an enemy. [Nikuyouyuu no Jutsu [ Melting Flesh Technique ] 1/2]
The foreign made up shinobi began crying out, clutching at their skin in pain as their skin melted in the genjutsu. Kohaku shook his head, clearing it of the painful sights before he continued reading for several more minutes. After reading it, Kohaku resumed browsing through the scroll. [Nikuyouyuu no Jutsu [ Melting Flesh Technique ] 2/2 learned!]
Finding a final technique that he wanted to learn, Kohaku stood up and cast the genjutsu on himself. He walked towards the dummy and swung his fist as he used his foot to move the dummy aside. He didn't hit anything and it didn't seem like he did so he failed in the jutsu. [Mougo Shibaku no Jutsu [ False Strike Technique ] 1/2]
Kohaku placed the dummy back where it belonged and closed his eyes yet again. He channeled the chakra through his body and then opened his eyes, casting the genjutsu once more. He then swung at the dummy, moving it aside once more as he did but he hit, giving off a resounding ring. He ended the genjutsu and saw he struck air. [Mougo Shibaku no Jutsu [ False Strike Technique ] 2/2 learned!]
