Such a beautiful night it was. The stars were actually visible for once, and fewer clouds than usual. A bright and full moon complimented the sky, and the air smelled nice, a hint of salt to it. This of course, was because He was on a boat, in the ocean. The boat, however, was closing in on the New York City Dock.

He had changed, alot, actually. His hair was no longer crimson, but white now, and shorter and spikier. His eyepatch still covered his left eyesocket, where he had once been able to see through. No longer did he carry a katana made of silver, but now a rather large broadsword made of the finest alloys the world had to offer. It had been quite some time now since he last set foot in New York. He was somewhat anxious, but it did not show. A calm expression was on his face, and he patiently waited for the boat to get close enough to the dock.

Once the boat was 10 feet away from the dock, the man jumped with inhuman grace off of the front of the boat, and landed softly onto the wooden walkway that extended over the water. He stood straight, and began to walk forward. He wanted to see her, for he had missed her during his absence.

He turned after hearing some racket, and noticed a male being attacked by a crazed Vampire. He stopped, but then saw a Female Lycan jump in and tear the Vampire to shreds. He stared in the direction of the shortlived battle for a minute. He was about to continue on, but then a scent caught his attention. Amidst the scent of alcohol and cigarette smoke, he caught her scent. He looked back and reaized it was coming from the man.

Veroen's eye narrowed, and he changed his original path towards the man who had her scent all over him. He had been hoping Edith had been faithfu to him as he was to her, but trust was not a very common luxury these days. Doubt began to cloud his mind for the first time since he had been together with her. He always had a sort of sixth sense about things like that. He knew not if this man was seeing Edith, but he intended to find out.

He stopped about 6 feet away from the scene. He calmly looked around at the wolf and the man, but approached the man casually.

He spoke with a deep, yet beautiful voice. His Vampiric heritage was obvious.

"Hey, you. Do you know where I can find Meredith Jackson?" he said this as a sort of test. He would not reveal that he was supposed to be Edith's lover, but rather test the man, to see if he responded to the question as if HE was her lover instead. He did not prepare himself for an attack, like he normally would have in the past. He was much, much quicker than he used to be. Not to mention faster as well. He still knew his Assassin ways well. He could break the man with ease if he so wished, and the fact that he was most likely human did not matter to Veroen. He raised his left eyebrow, which was visible over his black leather eyepatch, curious and anxious to get the information he seeked.

James stopped mid-step and stood in a defence stance. He pulled out his gun and aimed it at the newcomer. he stood in a way that he could keep an eye on both this most deadly threats.

He give the man a quick glance"That depends on what you plan to do blood sucker."

Veroen's expression became somewhat annoyed at this action the human took. He gave out a somewhat audible sigh, and shook his head with disproval at the situation. Humans could be so rash. It was typical of most hunters to act this way. He looked at the human male for a moment, figuring he was a hunter, though he had never seen him before.

"There is no need for that. I have not shown any hostile action towards you, so you have no reason to draw your weapon towards me. I suggest you withdraw your weapons, and act civilized as you should. You needent die for no reason, boy." He spoke the truth, he was not here to fight. He was here to see the girl he loved. Though if the human continued on in the same manner, Veroen would not hesitate to kill him, for he was in no mood to play around. He simply wanted answers, not bloodshed.

James put the gun to his side. He didn't trust this guy, but he maybe good. Also there was a fact that the werewolf was still stuffing its face.

"You still need to to answer my question before time runs out." He nodded his head toward the werewolf.

Veroen paused for a moment, satisfied that the man that he had never met before in his existence was not acting hostile. He then glanced over at the werewolf with an uninterested look. He didn't really care about the wolf, to be honest. They did not worry him. He was an expert in Lycan extermination; one of the most experienced. Deathdealers. Thats what his kind were called. Experts in killing Lycans. He looked back at the man smoothly without a hint of worry visible.

"You know her. I can smell her on you. How do you know her? Are you her lover?" he asked bluntly, wanting to get the answer he desired quickly. He was a little impatient, and wanted to find her as soon as he could. But first, he wondered who this guy was, and wanted to figure out what his relationship with her was.

Out of the shadows came another presence; Another Lycan, by the name of Siberius. He was Veroen's friend that helped him out whenever it came to Lycan affairs. He stopped, and unhooded himself, for he was cloaked, hiding his features. He looked at the Hunter, and then back at Veroen.

"Veroen, good to see ya again. It's been...a while" the Lycan spoke with a British accent. This Lycan was Veroen's contact, and gave him information regarding the Lycan race, and what they were up to. Though, Veroen did not have any quarrels with the Lycans anymore, he still liked to have Siberius around, in case something happened that would affect him.

"Sorry, er, to interrupt mate...but I have some information you might like to hear....information regarding your, er, girlfriend, Edith? I think that's her name, if I'm not mistaken..." He said this, glancing over at the Human that Veroen appeared to be speaking to.

***

Veroen looked over at Siberius, surprised to see his furry friend here to welcome him back to the city. His face, however, turned into that of concern when Siberius mentioned Meredith.

"I see, well lets go somewhere else and discuss this..." he said this smoothly, and looked over at the Human, and nodded slightly to him, and left the area with Siberius.

The wolf sitting at the edges of the docks seems to perk up when she senses two other presences within the vicinity though these presences are different than that of the spirits', they are living. She becomes curious but decides not to meddle in the affairs of others since many humans tend to become antsy when someone else, a stranger, comes into their picture. Often out to prove their strength and that they were the best, Olathe, during the centuries had come to think a little less of them than she had as a pup. Of course, she could not judge all humans by a series of encounters with a few humans. However, humans of all races seemed the most compelled by greed and fortune and when possessed by such a spirit they eventually became willing to destroy even their own kin to get their way.

She felt much safer amongst the wolves, amongst her pack members who were all loyal for if they happened to have any issues they were raised and the resolution was a fight between the two that disagreed with one another. It was simple enough and at the same time it was so effective. It kept the pack together and all the wolves worked as one. Everyone was encouraged to have voices but they had to be prepared to defend their opinions if they happened to clash with the interests of others. However, for the most part all the members were pretty pack-oriented and wanted nothing more than what was best for the pack as opposed to themselves.

Fallon became horribly restless and soon began more than just pacing back and forth. He started jumping onto crates for a better view of the place and he also began picking up various debris such as wood or rocks and chucked it into the water to see how far he could throw. He was about to go disturb his sister's thoughts when his ears caught whiff of a fight and his nose also smelt blood. Of course this excited the wolf and soon enough he was darting off like an excited puppy, almost all of his training forgotten, being much too overwhelmed by everything around him. It was a sensitory overload and it was absolutely amazing though it caused his adrenaline to rise, which also caused him to think far less.

His instinct called for him to prowl toward the blood and no sooner had he caught the scent had he taken on his beautiful tan and black coat, in search of the source of the bleeding. It didn't take him long to locate it and he realized that one of the cold ones were here. The excitement of the challenge of a vampire in a city versus a vampire in the nature quickly overtook him and he charged toward the vampire with amazing speed though it lacked the grace that either of his sisters possessed. It was a clumsy run that wasn't necessarily planned to accomplish anything though he did desire to sink his teeth into the blood sucker.

The wolf covered the ground between him, the hunter and the vampire within a few moments and soon enough he found himself almost face to face with them. The excited wolf leaped and tackled the vampire to the ground and began viciously attacking him, his survival instinct now kicking in and having him fight for his life. Once the young wolf's instinct kicked in there was absolutely no turning back and he began ripping the vampire apart, dead flesh in mouth. He didn't seem to take notice of the hunter that stood beside him at all and didn't seem at all concerned for his well being. After all, the hunter could attack him at any moment for all he knew but the young wolf was far too engrossed in his kill at the moment, focusing on the more direct threat.

No sooner had she turned her back on her brother had he run off in anticipation of a fight and some excitement. Naturally it was to be expected of a young wolf that was visiting the city for the first time but even so it was quite troublesome. However, she recalled that Sibyl's reaction had been similar though she'd encountered one of the human's domesticated dogs and started a riot because it'd become cross with her, sensing she was not what she appeared to be and became aggressive. Sibyl, being a wolf reacted the way that was expected and killed the dog before it could attempt to harm her and marked her territory as her own though luckily no one had been around and the dog had been off leash, escaped.

Olathe, though she'd been deep in thought had been almost instant in her reaction to the sixteen-year-old brutally tearing the vampire apart. She did not want him to become excited and turn on the hunter that'd been there moments before or the other vampire that'd simply observed Fallan utterly destroy the vampire he'd made a chew toy out of. Her intervention was swift and she grabbed the wolf and hastily scolded him, explaining to him how dangerous it was to simply take on that form with possible witnesses about. She scolded him until he calmed down and began whimpering slighly, tail between his legs and when he finally calmed down enough to maintain his human form she allowed him to go. "You mustn't take on your true form in such a wide open area. People could have seen you and then they would hunt you as they hunt every lycan, vampire and demon within this city. Do you understand?"

Fallan nodded, his head bowed to the ground to show his sister that he was sorry and did not intend to lose himself again. He didn't like the city so much, it had uncessary rules which he did not like following at all. He had every right to roam in his true form, did he not? Who were the humans to take away from him his true identity, something he was proud of? This did not sit well with him at all but the young pup decided to seat himself and simply stared at the ground. "Yes, sister, I understand ... It's just really hard to just sit here. When are we going to go see Sibyl? I miss her ... She hasn't been home in a long while, not even to say hi ..."

Fallan had just begun to lay his head down and stare off at the water when suddenly his senses reverbrated throughout him and tingled slightly. He instantly perked up in order to assess the situation but he soon decided that there was no danger and an expression of absolute delight appeared on his face. With a toothy grin he rose and to the human eye turned into virtually nothing and appeared before his sister and tackled her over backwards with a happy yip despite the fact Olathe would not appreciate it. He was so happy he could hardly contain himself and had the boy been in his wolven form his tail would have been wildly wagging to and fro. "SIBYL!"

Sibyl was not at all taken by surprise despite the fact that she felt ... she was sad for some reason and confused as to why. Why would she be sad that Jaden was having fun with someone else? It really didn't make sense. However, the interruption of someone running toward her directed her away from her thoughts and into bracing for impact until she realized it was her little brother racing toward her. She offered no resistence when he tackled her and they flew to the ground, any normal human would have gotten a concussion and would have been devastated by the impact. "Little brother. I have not seen you for a long time. I trust sister is with you keeping an eye on you?"

She was smiling and looked around to confirm her answer, which Olathe did for her as the beautiful woman rose to walk toward Sibyl. Olathe was wearing a smile but Sibyl knew that she did not wear the smile with full genuinity. She probably didn't want to ruin Fallan's moment and neither did Sibyl. It had been at least a year since she had seen her little brother and she'd missed him dearly, especially when I'zale and Jaden had been reunited though they weren't close in the same sense that Sibyl and her brother were. She'd fought to protect her brother when they'd been cubs and had gotten themselves into trouble and Olathe had always been the one watching over them to get them out of it.

The pleasant memories within mind Sibyl turned back to her brother with a smile and gave him a huge wolf hug since she didn't like calling them bear hugs for she was not one. "You have grown much, I suppose I can barely call you little brother anymore now can I?"

"Ha! You should see what father's taught me! I'm going to lead the pack and the first thing I'm going to do when I'm leader is make you come back. Why did you leave in the first place anyhow?

At the question Sibyl turned to Olathe for confirmation as to whether it was appropriate to tell her little brother the truth about the situation or not. Her older sister shook her head when Sibyl's eyes met her sister's for approval and she followed suit. "It is something best not discussed right now. I'm certain one day I will tell you or one day you will find out on your own but I cannot remain with the pack while father is the leader. He sees me as a disgrace and I do not wish to be a disgrace to him by continuing to run with his pack when my heart is no longer fully there."

"Well then when I'm leader I'm gonna make you come back, just like I said. Then everything will be fixed and there will be no problems at all, you'll see."

Sibyl smiled at her younger brother's kind heart, hoping that her father did not stomp out his kindness and naievety as weakness. "I'm sure you will. The day will come and I'll be waiting for it but I can't promise I'll come back. This is my pack in this city here now too and it's come to be my home."

With this Fallan snarled his disapproval. "Sister says that you are in danger here, that there is someone who's going to claim your life if you insist upon staying. I came to get you and take you away and so did sister. Please come with us? I don't want you to die ... Especially not here ... You belong with your kind, with us. I'm sure I can ask father to forgive you.

At this Olathe chose to interject and keep her siblings from discussing the topic too thoroughly or any further for the moment. "It's not that simple, young one, both Sibyl and I wish it were but the fact remains that it is not. Father is a leader of traditions and Sibyl has broken some of them and for that he will find it difficult to ever fully forgive her and let go of the past. Father often dwells too far behind in the past and he cannot see the future in certain areas any longer ... Sibyl is one of those areas. But that does not mean that she must remain here. She could still come with us.

Sibyl looked over to Olathe, not all that amused that she'd revealed her premonition to Fallan but clearly Olathe hadn't revealed who it was that she'd seen in the prediction. Both Olathe and Sibyl knew that if she had revealed that to Fallan he would have taken Jaden on without hesitation the very moment he'd set foot within New York and they both knew that he would not be able to face up against such a foe. However, Sibyl knew that Jaden would not kill her little brother and with this in mind she also insisted he would not kill her either. However, the way that Olathe's eyes seemed magnetized to her scar told her that Olathe was already scutinizing the wound for it was next to impossible to scar one of their kind.

Just as Fallan was getting up and shaking the dust off of himself he happened to notice Sibyl's wound and he knelt beside her in order to inspect it. Anger crossed his features as he examined the wound and his finger came to follow it and a look of digust mixed with hatred distorted the innocence and boyish kindess in him as he realized how large the wound was. His hand began shaking and he growled low in his throat as he asked her in a murderous voice, "Did he do this to you?"

Sibyl gracefully rose from her seated position, an air of pristine silence about her as she did so. "I was foolish, it could have been prevented and I do not wish to discuss such matters. I am alive and well and that is all that I can ask for. Also, it was not purposeful, it was an accident of sorts."

"One does not inherit such a wound by accident, Sibyl. No matter how much you wish it was, it was not an accident and your unwillingness to discuss the subject only confirms who it was." Her arms were crossed as she said so, calmly leaning against a metal beam supporting a structure as she said so. It was in a voice more serene than Sibyl's, wiser and older, one that'd seen many things and knew of many things. It was a voice one rarely questioned and did not even bother to argue pettily with.

As opposed to responding, Sibyl simply looked away, out at the water in silence as her little brother attempted to coax her into letting him know who had done such a thing to her. He was snarling and barely containing himself but Olathe seemed to take little notice. Her sister had decided to attempt to use Fallan to get to her, if Olathe could not convince her then she must have figured that Fallan surely would. But she was wrong. Here was home, her pack needed her ... or did they? Jaden was fine on his own and if he grew lonely he had the new lycan he'd found. Maybe she didn't belong here after all ...

She could feel the sadness settling in again but this time it seemed stronger and attacked her from an angle that had not been anticipated. Perhaps this was her sign that she was to leave. Jaden didn't need her, he had his brother and he could easily take care of himself. He had Steffon and Duke if he became lonely and his new play mate so she was an unecessary addition to the pack. She had yet to prove her worth so perhaps this truly was her time to leave.

By now she had walked far away from her siblings and had found herself at the end of a dock, standing at the edge of it, allowing the breeze to race past her. It animated her crimson hair that burst into ribbons of nature. Here she felt free and right now she felt she could run fast enough to clear the entire body of water right here before her. There was nothing stopping her and it would be a true adventure of utmost courage. Sibyl had lifted a leg, about to step forwards and plunge herself into the deep when a wet nose gently nudged her and then she came back.

Fallan was whimpering, gently nudging his sister, trying to bring her back from the world which she was treading in and when he saw the flicker of recognition in her eyes he latched onto the waist of her pants with his teeth and tugged backwards hard. She offered no resistance yet again and fell on her bottom on the dock and laughter spilled from her, replacing Fallan's fear and anger with joy. He'd missed his sister very dearly.
