Tou would have to make some adjustments, and as for reconnecting nerve endings? We wouldn't have to. Clip off the dead parts of the nerve and then use tiny electronic receivers and transmitters to make a link between the new tongue and the rest of your body. Clipping sounds painful. @ED: Chemical free? It is magical. What would a wizard have use with chemicals in a magical glue? To enhance it with modern magic; science?

Well, in any case, no chemicals in this glue... Though it does taste bad. which kinda ruins the point of replacing your tongue...
