"Be more gentle, my god" rei said growling slightly. The blonde was already startedto tick her off "Follow me I guess" she said heading twards akila's hut.

"Oh, you don't have to call me your god. Not that I wouldn't mind you worshiping me or anything." Mariku said cheerfully, walking carefully so as not to shake Bakura around. Bakura remained unmoving, though it seemed that with every step his teeth and nails dug in a little more. Akila was perched outside her door and quickly got to her feet when she saw Rei returning. She glanced suspiciously at Mariku, but decided that if Bakura was tolerating being carried by him, he wasn't a threat. "Goodness, what happened?" She asked, stepping aside to let them in.

Rei let out anannoyed sigh as they enter the hut "That blonde pain in the a** happened." rei said waiting for him to set bakura down.

"Just a little fight, of course." Mariku said to Akila, as he put Bakura down on the ground. "I tackled him at one point and I think I cracked a rib. His, not mine. He'll be fine soon." Akila nodded, sitting next to Bakura. "So why were you fighting?" She asked, either of them. Bakura rolled his eyes and Mariku chose to answer. "He was just snoozing by the well and I like to remind people of their errors when they do that." Marik was ignoring Rei, seeing that she didn't like him. For the life of him, the blonde couldn't seem to figure out why. "It isn't safe to let your guard down when you're so close to the palace."

"Oh by they way I have your knife bakura" rei said pulling it out of her sleave. She had sliped it from mariku. She wasent that bad of a theif when she needed to be.

"Rei, you shouldn't have gone out there like that." Akila said as she studied the bruises on the thief. "You're pretty beat up, with your head and all. You need to rest, you and Bakura both. It's nothing serious, but you two can't be bouncing around like that. Sheesh." Akila had grudgingly accepted that Rei and Bakura were, somehow, married. She looked to Mariku, tilting her head to the side. "Young man, do you think I could hire you for a while? I need a way of making sure neither of these two go sneaking away. You'd have to stay here, just until I decide they're well enough to leave." "Akila, don't..." Bakura muttered, grabbing her arm. "If you want me to stay, all you have to do is ask. Can't you take my word for anything?" Akila made an irriteted huffy sound. Mariku had decided to stick around, but chose to stay out of the conversation for now. "No, I can't. You promised me you'd come by and see me more often. This is the first time in months I've seen you, and what do you do? You go off and get yourself married and get kids. I don't want to see you getting killed. That's what'll happen if you leave." Akila said, examining Bakura's arm now. "Want to know why? Because if you leave me I'll hire an assassin to hunt you down and kill you."

Rei sat beside bakura yawning "And I thought I was protective of you..."

"Oh, you can be protective of him when I'm not around. Otherwise, let me do my job." Akila hunted around her hut and found a blanket, which she draped over the both of them, before turning towards Mariku to discuss business. Mariku was amused by this whole scenario. "So, what, are you his mother? Or did you just appoint yourself into that position?" "Hmm. I'd have to go with the second one." Akila said, getting to her feet and grabbing Mariku's arm. "Come outside with me to talk. These two need to sleep."

"Pretty good, considering." Bakura said, holding Rei's hand. "It's been a while since I got beaten up like that. It's a refreshing change of pace. Not that I want it to happen a lot more, but I just enjoyed it for the time." Bakura turned his head to the side and sneezed suddenly. "Say, do I know who that guy is? He's familiar, but I don't think I've seen him before. Not in Egypt, anyway. Did he say his name?"

"He did look familer.... No he never said his name." Rei shifted setting the children down so they could sleep.

"We'll have to ask. I don't see a problem with keeping him around. Do you?" Bakura winced as he sat up, holding a hand to his chest.

"Hey, he started it." Bakura grumbled, kissing Rei back. His other little violent devil of a self had completely enjoyed the little fight. Bakura was more than happy to keep the blonde around if his other side could remain content in taking his anger out on that man instead of on his wife. He could taste Mariku's blood in his mouth still from when he had bitten the blonde, and while part of him wanted to rinse out his mouth, another, stronger part wanted to savor the flavor.

"I know." she said kissing him agian. She smiled happly "You know it was mean of you to just leave me wid akila." she saidwith a playfully little pout showing that she was only kidding.
