Steffi giggled. "Of course I can understand what Sparky says to me, but not exactly verbally. One look at his face and I know everything he's thinking. Same goes for him. He can even read my mind without looking at me, just by the way I stroke him or by the sound of my voice. When I sound stern and angry and command him around, he will always hear the softness in my voice and never take me seriously." Steffi sighed, seeing Sparky grin cheesily.

Pix was so soft, it was amazing. Steffi couldn't help but want a little soft pokemon of her own. She wondered if the stroking was bothering her, but decided to keep them in her arms for a while.

Sparky looked over at his new friend. She was so pretty, it made him feel self-aware. "Pikachuuu, pika pika pi!" he told her ((Meaning your fur is really pretty.))

"A battle! Of course!" Steffi squeaked in excitement. This was going to be her first real battle against a trainer! Her pikachu was level 7 already, and they hadn't had an official fight yet. She felt the pokemon squirm in glee in her arms. "You want to go get a snack first? While I pack my things for good?" she suggested.

Sparky was getting bored with this, he wanted to go over to Yume. He wanted to be held by her. The way a human picks up a pokemon tells a pokemon everything about them. He jumped off Steffi's arm and sprinted to Yume, tugging at her shoes. "Pika?"

It was approximately an hour later, and Kasiya was contentedly lying on a large beach towel, wearing her favourite emerald-green one-piece swimsuit (the same one she'd worn when she battled Misty), a smile plastered to her face as she watched her Pokemon at play. The last battle was still fresh in her mind, but she did her best to push it aside for now. She and Keegan had lost, but only by a small margin. Anthony and Dylan truly were talented trainers, and despite her previous impression of the duo, she'd gained a bit of respect towards them in the end, especially after the boys had refused to take any money from them, instead giving them a little extra instead to get Kasiya's bicycle repaired. Kasiya sighed and closed her eyes, resting her chin on her arms as the setting sun shone down on her exposed back. Perhaps getting a bit of a tan before the Beach Party wouldn't be such a bad thing.

She'd only just gotten comfortable when she felt something cold, slimy and wet nudge up against her bare arm. She let out a startled gasp, and turned her head to see Levi standing only a few inches away from her face, her little tail-fin wagging excitedly. Ariel stood a few paces back, watching the baby Mudkip with a motherly-like interest. Kasiya smiled, knowing full well what the Vaporeon and Mudkip wanted. "But I just got comfortable," she said, making her voice sound whiny. Levi wasn't convinced, instead nudging her head up against her trainer's arm once more. Kasiya laughed and pulled herself up onto her knees. "All right. I did promise myself a nice swim, after all." She stood up and stretched, glancing around for Keegan as she did so. He hadn't taken the loss as well as she had, even though she'd been bested twice this day and he had at least one win under his belt. I'll give him some time, she thought, figuring that Keegan was still hiding away from the sun. It's best to leave him alone with his thoughts for now. He'll come around.

Kasiya then had to run to catch up with her Pokemon, and very quickly the two disappeared beneath the refreshing surface of the water. "Water-types," she chuckled, easing herself into the cool blue with slow, cautious steps. The water wasn't overly cold, in fact it was the quite opposite. The water was practically calling to her, and Kasiya couldn't resist the urge to dive under. No sooner had she resurfaced, pushing the hair from her eyes (and missing the ability to tie it back out of the way when it was longer) she looked around for Ariel or Levi. Something bumped into her back and she jumped, but started laughing as Levi poked her head out of the water, orange whiskers twitching happily. She launched herself out of the water and up into Kasiya's arms, practically knocking the girl over once more. Back up on the beach, Seto had usurped Kasiya's beach towel, having not liked the feeling of sand between his paws or in his fur, while Casimir kept a close watch from under the shade of a big, leafy palm tree. Fang was hanging out above the Absol, dozing contentedly. Shocker was playing in the shallow water, enjoying the coolness of the gentle waves splashing over her tan-coloured body. The Raichu looked tired despite having been just rested at a Pokemon Center, but she sighed happily, watching her trainer play with their newest companion out in the deep blue waters.

Blushing slightly as Kilik whistled for Luffy to behave himself, the small Aipom actually looked up at him for a moment before grinning at him and running back to his trainer. Robin for her part had long ago resigned herself to talking herself and Luffy out of the messes that he made for them. Hearing the mention of the shower though she perked up. That actually sounded pretty good. "How about we get ourselves cleaned up as well Luffy?" She asked the Aipom with a smile. Luffy did not seem to like that idea to much though and made an attempt to scramble away but was quickly grabbed and pulled back into her grasp. "Showers are the one thing I insist upon Luffy you know that." She scolded as she headed off to the girls shower area.

Grabbing a nearby towel before shutting the door and locking it Robin set Luffy down on the ground. Stripping down to her bare essentials before shutting the curtain and turning the water on. Putting a hand under the spray she felt until it got warm all the while keeping an eye on Luffy who was sitting on the sink. Liking the heat that it was at she walked over to Luffy hoping that he would go easy into the shower. He hated getting in but he loved playing in the water when he finally was in making it hard to get him in and out of the shower. Deciding to make a grab for him Robin's arms snapped out and quickly grabbed the Aipom. Doing her best to keep him still she tore Hat off and tossed him in the best way to get him soaked. Peeking in Robin saw Luffy sitting down with a surprised expression on his face as the water pored down on him. Her mission successful Robin stripped he rest of her clothes off and joined her pokemon in the shower scrubbing off the grime she got from her first day on the road.

When done Robin shut the water off, much to Luffy's sorrow and quickly dried herself off and changed into a new set of clothing, she had five pairs of the same outfit for a reason. That done she tied her hair back and took to blowdrying Luffy. When they were all set and ready Luffy and her stepped out of the bathroom looking refreshed and ready.

Kilik stood in the dead center of the shower, looking up at the head as the water came crashing against his face. He didn't actually start washing for another minute or two; the water just felt too good. Making sure to get his entire body, including the ever-so-elusive 'behind the ears', Kilik watched the bubbles from the soap build up at the drain.

After about another ten minutes, he shut off the water and opened the sliding door. Steam poured out of the box and practically filled the bathroom. He felt like an alien coming from it's ship. He left watery footprints on the floor as he walked over to the place where the robe was hanging. He took it down, crouching down to pick up his undergarments, pulling them on before slipping his arms through the robe and situating it on his body comfortably. Kilik tied the belt in a quick knot and grabbed up his clothes, walking out of the bathroom. His hair still dripped, leaving trails of water on his face. He glanced over to see Robin already dressed. "Ha, looks like I'm the odd man out," he said, approaching the desk again. "I don't have anymore clothes other than these." He rang the bell.

Nurse Joy seemed to appear from nowhere, smiling at him, then glancing at the wad of clothes in his arm. "I take it you need to wash them?" she pointed behind Kilik to a door next to the bathrooms labeled 'Laundry'. "Just pick a small washer and throw your clothes in. It'll take a little while, so you could wash and dry them tonight and take them tomorrow morning." The Nurse bowed and walked away.

Kilik didn't even have a chance to ask if his Elekid was okay. The boy turned around to the 'Laundry' room and opened the door, finding a small washer in the back corner. Turning on the water, Kilik drummed his fingers on the edge for a minute or two before deciding to drop his pants and shirt into the wash, scratching his nose as he poured the detergent in. Leaving the room, Kilik entered the main lobby once more.

Seeing Kilik walk back in Robin smiled and made her way over to him Luffy his fur nice and fluffy as he rested on Robin's shoulder. "So are we staying the night tonight? I don't really want to wonder around in the dark." She was slightly worried though, she did need to make it back to the Regional Park tomorrow in order to take place in the Bug Catching tournament she signed up for. Suddenly much to her embarrassment her stomach rumbled in front of the other, it didn't help when Luffy started to snicker at her. "Oh sorry. I guess I am kinda hungry." It was around dinner time and it would be a good time to eat. "If you want we can get something to eat." She offered to him. In her head she was thinking about the amount of food it would take to keep Luffy feed and happy. She hoped that the pokemon center food was free because the bill would be huge otherwise.

Hearing the mention of food an excited look appeared on Luffy and he climbed up onto the top of Robin's head trying his best to spot the food. He was really hungry and the berries from earlier weren't really that great for substance.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 15, 2008 2:01 pm

He placed a hand on his chin and scratched it for a minute. "We'd lose precious hours if we stayed the night," he said, still trying to sound macho. Honestly, he did want to stay. He put his hands into the robe's pockets. "But we'll stay since you don't want to be in the dark. Professor Elm would probably understand." The boy looked up at Aipom and shook his head. "One mention of the word food and he flips," Kilik walked past the girl with his hands still in his pockets, humming to himself.

The Center's cafeteria was rather small, but at least the food was, in fact, free. If they had chosen to eat out of the vending machines, it'd be a different story. Kilik felt strange eating with a new companion in just a robe and boxer shorts, but it didn't seem to bother her when he was just talking to her. He ran a hand through his wet hair and sighed. He wasn't very hungry. He would probably just eat something small.

"Well... If you feel we should keep going then I will leave it up to you. It can't be that bad traveling at night. I just don't really want to run into anything." She said. Robin was a new trainer after all she didn't really know all that much about how these things worked. Anyway food was first before the decision was made.

Following Kilik to the Cafeteria Robin quickly snatched Luffy from the top of her head and sat him down on in one of the chairs. "Stay, I will bring the food to you. You are not allowed to eat all the food you see again." She scolded before turning around and heading to the bar. Robin let out a sigh of relief as she saw that it was free, Feeding Luffy was like feeding a mini black hole. Going to the end with the tray's she grabbed like four and started to fill them up with just about everything. Well the last tray just had a small sandwich and a drink on it, the rest just had food piled on them. Finally upon reaching the end Robin preformed an amazing balancing act and managed to carry all of the trays over to her table. Setting the three over loaded trays next to a drooling Luffy she sat down across from him her own tray in front of her.

By the time that Robin had sat down Luffy was already halfway done with his first tray it helped that he had three appendages to stuff food in his mouth. If you didn't watch your limbs then there was the chance that they would end up in Luffy's mouth. The other side of the table was much more calm as Robin ate her sandwich at a much slower pace all the while keeping her eyes open for wondering limbs that might steal her food.

Keegan was indeed hiding from the sun, sitting cross-legged on a beach towel of his own. Despite the fact that the sun was setting, he'd slathered a good amount of sunblock on every inch of exposed skin, and he'd even found a large umbrella to position over his head. He'd said very little since they'd parted from Dylan and Anthony, although it wasn't that he was overly upset by the loss. Sure, losses stung, but it was nothing to dwell on for very long.

He looked up as Kasiya chased after her Pokemon in the water, laughing and splashing and having a grand old time. He hadn't let his Pokemon out just yet, and he looked at the belt lying by his side, five red and white Pokeballs, with one blue and white Great Ball, and sighed. No, it wasn't the loss that was bringing him down, it was him. He'd let Kasiya down, and that was the truth of the matter. He sighed, and took Althena's Pokeball from the row, and enlarged it. The tall, blue Golduck emerged from her confinement, looking down at her seated trainer with serious eyes. Her arms were folded across her chest, webbed hands flexing her sharply-clawed fingers. "Go ahead and have a swim, you deserve it," he nodded, motioning towards the expanse of clean, blue water. Althena cocked her head to the side and nodded, walking swiftly towards the water. Keegan was certain she'd be happy to join in on the fun in the water, but instead she waded out and dove headlong under the surface. When she came back up again, she began to swim, taking long strides and looking more as though she were giving herself a workout than having a relaxing dip in the water.

He sighed, and let out the rest of his Pokemon as well, and they all went about doing their own thing. Loki buried himself in the hot sand, content to lie there and enjoy the heat. Themis stayed by his trainer's side, yawning loudly. He had no interest in beach play right now. Tierra didn't move from the spot she'd been released on, instead remained curled into a ball, fast asleep. Artemis perched up on top of the beach umbrella, keeping a careful eye on things while Mori was content to run up and down the beach, kicking up her heels and stretching her long legs. Keegan watched the Ponyta for a few moments before his gaze rested on Kasiya again, still out in the water. He couldn't help but watch how the shiny green fabric clung to her in just the right places, and the way that the sparkle of the water seemed to enhance her every feature. If he would have died in that very moment, he would have died the happiest man on the planet.

Kilik merely watched her take her food from the line to the table, quite shocked that she was able to balance it all so easily. He scratched his nose and merely took a sandwich along with a bottle of chocolate milk. He sat down opposite the girl and quietly unwrapped his sandwich, taking a bite into it. It felt nice to sit down and eat for once; something he hadn't done for a day and a half. He looked up at her from the top of his sandwich and swallowed the chunk that was in his mouth.

"Where do you plan on going after Elm's?" he said, raising an eyebrow. If she had told him before, he evidentially didn't remember. However, he said nothing more as he opened his chocolate milk and downed about half of it in a single gulp. It tasted good; very good. He shook his head a bit, the last few drops of water working their way out. Kilik crossed his ankles beneath the table and stared down. It was quite awkward, being with someone he didn't know well. He tossed a glance at Luffy as if warning him to not touch his milk.

Robin didn't seem to notice Kilik was just in a robe, it was probably because most of the time Robin spent most of her day in her own robe back home. Easily Robin answered his question. "I actually signed up for the bug catching for tomorrow. Luffy and I are hoping to add a new friend to our team. What are you doing out here in Johto? You are such a strong trainer you should be in the pokemon league or something!" She asked curiously. She had never spent so much time with one person, other then her family, who hadn't gotten mad at her.

Across from them Luffy had finished up two trays and was mostly done with his third. Watching the two trainers across from him from wide black eyes he wasn't sure what was going on all to much. He did see Kilik's look though and he gave him an innocent looking stare. His tail though was sneaking slowly across the table towards his sandwich though, even after all of that food he was still hungry. Stuffing the last of his food in mouth he made his move grabbing out for the sandwich but found his hand slapped away by his trainer. "Don't take his food Luffy." She glanced over and smiled at Kilik apologetically. "Sorry about him. He tries to take everyones food you just need to watch out.

Kilik laughed at her comment about the Pokemon League. "Well, that is a goal I hope to achieve. It's a matter of needing more badges," the boy patted his leg where his badge case usually resided, "Remember, I only have seven. They're not even from the same Region, which is also a requirement. As for my being in Johto..." he crossed his arms (throwing another look at Aipom), "I was going to Goldenrod to check out the Pokemart. After all, it's the biggest one in Johto. I wanted a different selection than the Kanto or Hoenn marts." He locked his fingers together, staring at her from over them. He closed his eyes and thought himself similar to a certain orange-suited con-artist. "Plus, I haven't explored Johto much. It's nice."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 15, 2008 6:34 pm

"Well thats good that you like it here. I hope you make your goal to, it would be a great thing to be in the pokemon league." She smiled, while she did like it in Johto she hadn't ever really left Goldenrod city. She was curious about what he meant about the pokemart selection. "The other marts don't sell the same things as each other? I mean I know Goldenrod's market is bigger then normal pokemarts but the one in Kanto and Hoenn sell different things?" Frowning slightly Luffy just sat there pouting slightly still hungry but fine for the time being, he was bored now. Looking over at his trainer he noticed she had finished her sandwich and she was just sipping at her water now which was no fun.

Kasiya felt a shiver run down her spine, and at once she knew Keegan's eyes were on her. She turned to face the shore and waved, beckoning for him to join her in the water. However, being the naive girl she was, she was clueless as to why he was watching her so closely. He looks a bit happier already, she thought, smiling. Now only if I could get the big wuss into the water!

"The water feels really nice!" she called out to him. "You should come out here and join us! It's wonderful!" She raised her arms and sent up a cascade of water all around her, giggling as the drops fell all around her like the rain. After a tough battle, swimming was one of the most relaxing things she could think of. Levi did laps around Kasiya's waste, making happy sounds and occasionally ducking her head under the surface. Kasiya couldn't help but notice how closely Ariel was watching the baby Mudkip, and she giggled again. "Ariel, you're so good with younger Pokemon," she told her faithful partner. "You'd make a good mom someday."

"Porrreon!" the Vaporeon nodded back, a bit of a blush appearing in the Water-type's cheeks. Kasiya smiled coyly, remembering the small crush Ariel had on Kilik's handsome Flareon.

"It's okay, girl. He's a good Pokemon, you shouldn't be ashamed," Kasiya winked, causing Ariel to turn even redder. This made Kasiya giggle even harder, and even Levi joined in, despite the fact that the young Mudkip really didn't understand why everyone was laughing.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 16, 2008 2:18 pm

Yes, the water probably was wonderful, but the prospect of getting sunburned and turning redder than a Voltorb most certainly was not. "No thanks, I'll pass for now," he shouted back, although he was certain that she wouldn't let him stay safe on land during the Beach Party. Themis glanced up at him and shook his head, a smirk spreading across the Pokemon's face. "Don't you even start with me," the redhead said, folding his arms across his chest. "I'm just not the biggest fan of the water, you guys should know that by now." The Manectric just yawned again, and rest his head on his front paws.

His stomach rumbled, and the thought of food was suddenly the foremost thing on his mind. He checked his watch, but it wasn't getting that late just yet. The sun was still up, and he sighed. Another day was nearly over, bringing him one day closer to the 1st of July. He could feel his anxiety build up as he slowly counted down the hours until Helios would be by his side again. He looked out over the water, wondering if things would have been different if he'd never gone home in the first place. He knew something was wrong right from the phone call he'd got from his mother, but she'd said very little and he didn't know what could have been wrong. Just maybe, if he'd dug in his heels a little deeper, he never would have been separated from his best friend in the first place.

But would that have affected that last battle? Keegan sighed and shook his head. He wasn't a particularly strong trainer, but he wasn't exactly a novice anymore either. But he did know that if Mike or one of Kasiya's other friends had battled at her side instead of him, he was sure the outcome would have been different. He was certain of it. He was also certain that there was only one thing he could do, and that was to continue training. He and his Pokemon could work harder, earn more badges, and really show everyone what kind of potential he had within him. But as he continued to gaze solemnly at the pretty girl out in the water, he realized that he had to do this alone. He wouldn't allow himself to drag Kassie down any further. "Because I love her," he murmured softly.

"You're a big wimp!" Kasiya yelled back crossly, sinking down into the water until it was up to her chin. She closed her eyes and allowed herself to submerge completely, enjoying the coolness that surrounded her entire body. I hope he doesn't sit on the beach the whole time during the party in Slateport, she thought, feeling Levi bump against her a few times. A second or so later, she felt Ariel's head rub up against her hand, and she put both palms on the Vaporeon's shoulders, allowing the sleek blue Pokemon to pull her along under the water for a while. That's right, with Koga's Badge we can use Surf outside of battle, she thought, laughing at herself for forgetting such a fact. She also couldn't help but wonder how well Ariel would fare in Blaine's gym, where she knew the Pokemon were all of the Fire-type variety. Not ready for that gym just yet, she mused, knowing that she should be training with some of her lesser experienced Pokemon for a change of pace. If Rosemary had been stronger, she would have showed Anthony's Swampert a thing or two!

A feeling of faintness overcame her just then, and she realized that she'd been underwater a little bit too long. In her panic, she released Ariel, flailing and struggling to get to the surface. Ariel sensed her trainer's panicking, and turned around gracefully, pushing up against Kasiya's stomach with her head and pushing the girl to the surface of the water. Coughing and wheezing, Kasiya somehow managed to get air back into her lungs, still clinging to her Vaporeon to keep her head above the water. "S-sorry," she choked out, trying to laugh it off and not let on how much she'd just scared herself. "I-I guess I f-f-forgot that humans can't b-b-breathe underwater." Ariel gave an understanding nod and continued to pull her trainer along until her feet could touch the sandy bottom once more. Kasiya instantly felt much more secure with solid ground beneath her. Levi had stayed nearby the whole time, her eyes wide with fright and confusion. As far as she knew, humans couldn't stay underwater, why had Kasiya tried such a thing? Angrily, the Mudkip thrust herself forward, bumping headfirst into her trainer's thigh with an underwater Tackle. The force of it knocked Kasiya off balance for a second, and she grabbed the angry little Mudkip before she could try that again. "I'm sorry, I got carried away," she told the small Pokemon gently. Levi didn't seem to be convinced, but decided to allow it to pass for now.
