[Anthony ~.~ The Black Pearl ~.~ Lower Deck]

Anthony laughed at Noelle's sarcasm. "I'm sorry," he said, still chuckling, "I didn't mean to be so vague... or maybe I did. I'm not very good at trying to explain things in code, so I'll just flat out say it." The young man rose to his feet and walked over to Noelle, taking a seat beside her. He looked out at the doorway and listened for footsteps, making sure no one was close enough to overhear the two speaking.

The warrior-knight took in a deep breath, then turned to the girl, and in one, long breath he quickly said, "I'm considering learning how to use the Darkness in order to help Louis save James in the same way Louis saved Dawn, but the only thing stopping me is the fear of the person I may become after I begin using the Darkness!" Immediately after he spoke, he took in another lungful of air as to catch his breath, then slowly exhaled. "So, uh... what'cha think?" he asked, chuckling nervously.

[Noelle ~ The Black Pearl ~ Galley]

Noelle's expression went dark as Anthony finished. So that was it. She looked away from him and clenched the fabric of her skirt in her hand. The agromancer didn't know what he meant about saving James the way Louis saved Dawn (she wasn't up on deck for the episode) but the mention of learning how to use darkness was keeping her too proccupied to think about that. Using Darkness to save James wasn't something her mind had resorted to yet. Anthony really was reaching into the bag of last-ditch efforts. But what if it really came to that? If it could save him, would she, as well, do it?

I keep promising to myself that I'd never use it again just because darkness is . . . well, darkness. But . . . what if I'm being naive?
'Would you be willing to take such a risk? The way things happened before--'
I know, and that's what I'm worried about. It was wrong to do what I did. My judgement was clouded, I wasn't drawing the line between right and wrong, it just felt like I could and should do anything I wanted. I was angry that I couldn't do anything to save my home, so I thought that the stronger I got and the faster I gained power, the more I would be able to get done by my own means . . . but those means weren't right at all. I had that power and made myself an alliance to grow stronger, but it was at an awful cost. I'm glad I finally saw that. Even if it was a little too late.
'But you are more knowledgeable now, and that can be your advantage. Using darkness doesn't exactly make you a bad person, even if it has its drawbacks.'
I know . . . and I'd probably stop denying it so much if I wasn't so . . . so scared of it. I don't want to be like I was ever again.
'Though it has only been a short time, your heart has grown stronger, human. You should not fear such weaknesses as you were prone to before.'

Noelle sighed and shook her head, trying to find something to say to Anthony. This wasn't an easy one and she didn't want him to think she was looking down on him for considering learning how to use darkness as an element. She just wanted him to know she was concerned.

"Well . . ." She said finally, crossing her arms. "If learning how to use darkness would really allow you to save James . . . then, even if it's a risk, I'd take it. But . . . last resort only, okay? Take it from me, as helpful as it can be, if you're stupid like I was then darkness can lead you down a bad road. So do it if you have to, but don't mess up. Because if I see you go astray, I will take you out."

Jacob ll The Black Pearl

Hours Prior

Sayrike had magicked Jacob away on her own 'Aladdin's adventure; while they talked up in the crow's nest, away from the rest of the world, she had stolen his masculinity. While it was true that he was afraid at first (Jacob had a fear of heights) he was envious of her. She was so easily able to step up onto a thin mirror, not even as thick as his hand. Jacob lacked something very important. Trust. At first he was hesitant...very hesitant. Not wanting to be outdone though, he hopped up on her one way mirror and hugged her tightly. As time passed, he grew more and more courageous. Eventually, the ship had disappeared against the blue sea and sky. Jacob released his grip as simply stared in wonderment at the pulchritudinous landscape. They were out over the ocean for what must have been an hour or two, flying around in circles. Several times they had dropped in altitude to just barely float along the water. Jacob had told a few jokes and genuinely talked to Sayrike. No overly aggressive flirting, nothing but jokes and questions and answers. Who she was, where she's from. He never really got such a chance on the train when they first met. After about an hour of fun and a jovial time on her magic mirror ride, Sayrike reigned it in and landed back on to top of the Crow's Nest.

Currently

"--And that's why I'll never, EVER, try climbing into my friend's trunk again." Jacob said with a smile. "What about you? You have any fun stories like that?"

[Nick :: Hawaii :: Beach]

Nick scowled, his feet shifting slightly in the sand. Great, so I'm in a bad position. I could try to engage him, but with my Darkness sealed, I can't win unless I blow my cover. If I put my weapon down, there's a possibility he'll knock me on my a** for defying him. Possibly damned if I do and definitely damned if I don't.

He let out a small 'tch' noise before throwing his gun down. "Alright, fine. I'd rather not die and I don't think you're here just to kill us all, despite how easily you think you could do it. So, I'll back down, but I've got an eye on you." The aeromancer narrowed his eyes, but behind the scowl, he was grinning madly. What a fun game this is, Ajora. It should be very entertaining working with you.

[Elleon ~ Underworld]

The Replica walked the corridors of the Underworld like she knew them like the back of her hand. She was whistling something that lacked any real tune out of being bored. The Underworld was definitely an awful place. When she reached the doors to Hades' throne room she kicked them three times to knock.

"Honey, I'm hooooome." She called through them.

[ Hades : Underworld ]

"Fancy seeing you here," Hades said from the large table-map that he was looking over. Pain and Panic had opened the door for her the moment she had knocked, but Hades wasn't initially looking at her. After a moment, he turned his head to the side, one eye locked on her behind him. "Then again, this is the first time we've spoken, isn't it pumpkin?"

[Anthony ~.~ The Black Pearl ~.~ Lower Deck]

Anthony was rather surprised. He was expecting some sort of lecture about how he could even consider using Darkness or about what a stupid idea it would be, but instead Noelle was understanding and calm... 'Cept for the part she threatened to take him out (and not in the good way Anthony would've hoped for).

The young man cringed at the agromancer's threat, feeling the seriousness in her tone, and gulped. As uncomforting as it was, he was glad to hear someone would be prepared to knock some sense into him if he were to fall. He looked away from the girl, once again staring at the floor, and, after a slight pause, he finally said, "Promise?"

"As much as I feel I'll have a decent grasp over the Darkness, there are times I've given into temptations... and it's not pretty. I have no intensions of gaining power for the sake of being powerful, but to be able to use it to save. Kinda like Riku, you know?" He turned back to the girl and smiled, then continued. "So, uh... I don't mean to make this super cliche or anything, but... Promise me you'll beat the living crap out of me if I ever step outta line."

[ Ajora : Hawaii : Beach ]

"Aww," Ajora whined, standing up to his full height (which was an inch or so shorter than Nicholas, he noted). "And here I was hoping I'd have a reason to do this... alas!"

Ajora snapped his fingers, holding his hand out somewhat in a melodramatic pose. However... nothing happened.

"Boom, baby!"

Suddenly, pale, faceless Geists erupted from underneath everyone but Ajora, bursting out of the sand or coming out from the trees upon which they were leaning. Due to being directly next to the targets, the group had no chance to block, not that they needed to; the Geists phased through their targets instantly, and as they did, the group would have flashbacks to all their darkest, worst memories. Feelings of hatred, sorrow, greed, lust- every ounce of their negativity washed over them in that brief second.

The moment the Geists had made it out of their targets, they vanished, disappearing into individual mini-portals.

Simultaneously, Ajora dropped low and brought his leg around in front him, knocking Nicholas' legs out from underneath him to force him to the ground. Before Nicholas landed, Ajora brought an arm up, only to thrust it (palm open) directly into Nicholas' chest, shoving him forcefully into the ground. Darkness erupted around the duo, and before Nicholas had a chance to gasp, he was enveloped in a cocoon of Darkness, which was then swallowed by a dark portal underneath.

Despite the swiftness of the actions, there was a chance some of them would have recovered from the overwhelming memories and emotions by now. Numerous Heartless appeared within the group, composed of Neoshadows, Yellow Operas (the lightning mages), Green Requiems (the healers), and even some Pirate Heartless.

This was followed by three dark-suited entities landing around Ajora, as if they'd fallen from the sky. Upon inspection, they'd see they were each another Ajora; the first, true (?) Ajora walked out from within, now clothed the same.

"Time for another game!" all four of them shouted with identical laughs before vanishing into the ground as shadows, rapidly moving between the Heartless. The Neoshadows did the same, removing any odds of picking the right shadows.

[[For the record, the Geists include canons]]

[ Sora : Black Pearl : On Deck ]

Sora hesitated for a moment. The question was quite a bit more philosophical than he'd expected, though she seemed to make it a bit bigger than it was likely intended.

"Well, following your heart is usually the right choice, but...," Sora began to answer, his eyebrows furrowing in the process. "Sometimes, the heart can be misleading, such as if you give into the darkness because of its temptation. After all, you guys know Riku's story. When he gave into the Darkness, what did you think he was following? His heart."

"But even if you ignore temptation, even if you do what you feel is best, following your heart alone can make things way worse than you intended," he said, staring up at the blue sky, the sun nearing the horizon in the distance.

"For instance, back on the Dutchman, Joe was following his heart, but he wasn't thinking things through... so he lost his eye. Noelle was following her heart when she dove into that portal after her Replica back in Halloween Town... and she almost died, separated from us. You had that seal put on your hand because you threw your shoe at Ajora- you were following your heart then, weren't you?"

Sora sighed, dropping his head and looking down at the deck in front of him. "Your heart can be a bigger danger than you think, so you have to use your mind to think through your feelings. So I guess the answer is... you should follow your heart, but use your mind like a torch to light the way, you know? I think that's how metaphors work, Riku had trouble explaining them to me."

"I'm still not too good at it, obviously, but I'm getting better. It comes with time, I guess," he said, looking down at Dawn with a reassuring smile. "Does that help any?"

{Hawaii .:. Beach}

Christ, not again, Bobbi thought, seeing the Geists Ajora had summoned and hastily dropping Dani's hand to ward the spirit-monsters off. She really wanted to keep her memories this time, thank you. Then the creatures phased through herself and her friends, much like they had in the crypt in Halloween Town. She breathed a sigh of relief, as she still remembered everything from the past week. At least this wasn't like in the woods of Narnia. That was a terrifying experience that she really didn't want to go through again.

As her darkest memories flooded through her--again--the Archer winced, and nearly bit through her lip to keep from crying out. Especially since her last encounter with her replica was the freshest, and strong enough she could feel "ghosts" of the pain inflicted in that encounter.

Heads were going to roll for this crap. She was already on edge enough with Dawn's warning from over the charms a few hours ago, and of course Ajora's subsequent arrival. The snow/mud/waterball fight had helped her relax a bit, but now the flood of emotion she had felt before was back, with anger at the front and burning furiously. The effect of the Geists were probably helping to fuel that rage, but it was an emotion she could use.

She turned towards where she heard Ajora, summoning Taulmaril to her hand and drawing an arrow from her quiver. She sighted on him, all four of him, right as he dissolved into shadows, and cursed.

Demyx didn't get a chance to suggest that bonfire. Nick and Ajora kept opening their mouths and letting noise come out, and eventually there were creatures the Nobody wasn't quite familiar with flooding the beach, followed by a wave of Heartless and duplicates of Ajora.

The Melodious Nocturne resisted the urge to beat his head against his tree in vexation. Just one day! One day without things trying to eat/kill/maim/harm/spook/kidnap/devour/otherwise cause harm to people. Was that too much to ask?

Well, he figured, since he was nice and out of the way of any wayward attacks (he hoped), he could just erect a water shield around himself and stay out of it. But then he'd get lectured by someone. Probably Riku. Or that Amy chick. She seemed the lecture-y type. And Kyla would frown at him. And he really didn't care, it would just make things difficult in getting their help getting his heart back (which he kept getting distracted from) and... gah.

He decided to stay out of it, but if anything attack-like came his way, he'd deal with it. For now, he ducked around the tree, putting it's trunk between him and the fracas.

((Please note it is not necessary to read the flashback but to understand what is about to happen))
[Dani :: Hawaii :: Beach]

Dani looked confused as Bobbi let go of her hand before Dani saw these weird creatures surround the group. Before she could even question what these things were, she felt something go through her before her vision became black.

[(Flashback) :: PA :: ]

When Dani reopened her eyes, she was back on earth, before everything had gone horribly wrong. She was wearing a simple white dress with a huge black ribbon around her mid section. The countdown had just ended and it was a new year. Everyone was happy and decided to drink cider in order to celebrate. “This is not good,” Dani thought to herself, “Wake up Dani!”

As much as she struggled to wake up, relief did not come to her. As soon as five minutes passed, the whole entire basement was pitch black. Dani remembered that she looked around and noticed some weird yellow eyes starting at everyone. “Guys look out!” Dani shouted to everyone before screams tore out throughout the room.

Dani heard each of the screams in the pitch black room and tried to grab her friends and get them to run. She could understand a little bit that was going on and she tried to save as many friends as she could. In the end, they all were taken away by the Heartless and she was sent to this world.

[Dani :: Hawaii :: Beach]
Dani reopened her eyes and saw that she was, in fact, back in the present and saw that Heartless had come to ruin the peaceful life at the beach and that Ajora was using clones of himself. She immediately fell to the ground and broke down in tears.

“I can’t fight I can’t fight!” Dani shouted as hot tears fell down her cheeks “I let all of my friends down and now for all I know they are dead while I still live!”

“Snap out of it Dani and fight,” Leviathan shouted as loud as he could. He understood Dani’s pain but knew that if she didn’t fight that the battle would be much harder.

Dani on the other hand, did not even listen to her summon. Her sobs continued as more audible noises left her body and did not stop for a while. If someone did not calm her down, then she would be useless to the fight ahead.

[Nick :: ????]

Nick fell from the darkness onto a cold, hard floor. He groaned for a moment, lying still as the Dark Corridor closed around him and left him in this mysterious place. A glance around revealed quite a few things. He was in a science-y place, for one thing. Most likely a laboratory of some sort. A lot of beakers and equipment and large pods, the usual mad scientist layout.

But when he shifted his glance, he noticed two figures within the lab besides himself. Both were familiar, as he had seen them previously in Port Royal. He smirked, standing up and dusting himself off. "Well, well, well. This is certainly a surprise. I somewhat expected to see you here, but why is our pirate friend here? I'm certain he's not a 'villain' type. In fact, he's one of the Earthlings. And you fought against me back in Tortuga, so I'm assuming you've decided to...How to phrase this, 'pursue other interests', right?"

[Noelle ~ The Black Pearl ~ Galley]

"You can count on it," Noelle replied seriously, feeling like she was striking a deal. "So don't take this on lightly."

The agromancer stood, the subject making her feel like pacing again. She hoped she was right in "encouraging" Anthony and that it didn't backfire. They really didn't need more problems right now, and especially more enemies. The tough uphil battle was already getting harder without any of their own problems to help it. If this actually happened and turned out sour, Noelle wouldn't feel too great about it. But that was what risks were all about, trying to do something be means that could have serious consequences.

"So who would you learn from?" Noelle asked finally, facing Anthony with her arms crossed, "Louis is the one who knows how to use darkness in our group, so I assume you would go to him. If it were my choice I would go to Riku, mainly because we know more about him and we can relate to him more. Personally, I've been meaning to find some way to bother him about it just to . . . find out more, but he's elsewhere, so that's not exactly easy. However, if I had to learn how to use darkness better then I would seek him out."

And I think . . . I think I'll be doing that soon.
'Are you sure, human?'
I can't be afraid of it and hide from it forever, and I can't just continue keeping it as a back-up to save my a**. I either learn it or not use it at all. It would seem that the latter is harder.

[Elleon ~ Underworld]

Elleon walked past Hades' minions into the "comfort" of his throne room. She looked around and smiled at how familiar it was, her other's memories flashing in her mind as she scanned. The Replica was curious to know what had happened to that contract Noelle had signed. Hades of course had nulled it, but she wondered if he still had it. If she could read it over she would because Noelle hadn't exactly been careful enough to do so. Finally looking back over to Hades, Elleon smiled and lifted her left hand. In it was a brown paper bag that crinkled as it moved.

"Yeah, it is, but it feels like deja-vu." She said innocently before shaking the paper bag, "I've brought you cookiiiiies! Please tell me you like snickerdoodle . . ."

[Joe: Caribbean: BP]

The fighter had shifted his waiting spot from below deck to on deck after helping Kyle test his magic, and was mildly pleased with the results. Of course, it didn't help that there was their target in the distance and he was still impatient.

Of course, even though some were slightly nasty, some of the pirates made nice eye candy. And a quick dip and scrub in the ocean could fix that nastiness well enough.

[Azrael: Hawaii: Beach]

The male sighed, sitting up while watching Ajora f*** with everyone with geists, and then summon heartless and more of himself. Well, this sure as hell wasn't relaxing anymore. Which probably meant he was going to get attacked by SOMEONE soon.

Flipping back and up, the male landed on his feet, bo being drawn from an 'air pocket'. Standing there on his rock, the male did nothing but watch and wait, Bal-Hur beside him. Depending on what happened next, depended on what they decided to do with him.

Of course, a glare was shot at Ajora, too, for f***ing with his peace and relaxation.

[ Hades : Underworld ]

"Mmm, more of a chocolate chip fan, myself," Hades said off-handedly, turning back to his plotting table. As per usual, Mount Olympus stood in the center, with the layout of Greece surrounding it; only now, instead of it being actual Greece, the map accounted for a multitude of worlds that surrounded the small world of Thebes.

"Well, whaddya want, chika?" he asked, though he didn't face her. He held one hand over a pair of statuettes- a Cyclops and a large Griffin- but didn't actually pick one. He just let his hand linger in the air, as if unsure. "Don't have time for a girlie tea party, make your point."

[Elleon ~ Underworld]

"Damn, I was sure you seemed like a snickerdoodle kind of guy." The Replica grumbled, walking over to the opposite side of Hade's strategy table. She set the bag of cookies on the corner of it and joined the Greek god in peering at it scrupulously. Soon enough she abandoned it with a shrug, seeming uninterested.

"Eh, I'm just here because of this itching curiosity." Elleon told him, leaning on the table, "You still got that contract? I'm sure you know the one I'm talking about . . ."
