it's exactly what it looks like. you wouldn't request sunstrike to go paint something on his wall and send it to you if you won his auction, especially if he shows you digital pics. don't expect me to rewrite tristan und isolde when i'm showing you stuff no longer than 10 minutes.
"you" being non-specific, as in the general populace. see, this is why i can change things on the fly, so i can make this stuff clear.

:blinks: VA tech is an international university with a high amount of foreign student bodies. There are actually four students from this area of england who were around when bullets started flying.
Truthfully, I'm glad that they'd rather tell this kind of news rather then what pop star is currently on breakup, or how the prince and king to be broke up with his girlfriend.

Yes, Sun, all you said there is right. But there are other things happening out there, things that are important, and that is what I want to read about, too. I read the Dutch newspapers to hear what's going on in The Netherlands, NOT what is going on in the honourable US of A.

Though it is kind of sad how LONG it took the campus to tell student about the incident... and how pathetic their safety regulations are...

They told the students about it.
...BY SENDING THEM EMAILS SAYING TWO PEOPLE WERE KILLED. Cause you know Uni-students check their emails every ten minutes.

:raises an eyebrow: You really get that much American press over there? Last I heard from the US that was big was the Mississippi floods and hurricanes.
Let me explain something about Blacksburg. It's a sleepy town, and community. They maybe get....I dunno one to two murders per year, probably over feuding. The college is the biggest thing there.
They weren't expecting the excecutioner to turn up on the doorstep, and they certainly weren't ready to cope with all the casualties.
So while they had blood on their hands, the guy went off and dissappeared, waited til people were suitabely horrified, and then ducked into another building.
They got him on the second attempt, and they focused on him. No one was killed from friendly fire. Considering the emotions of the day, that's damn near a miracle.

Yes, Nick, that's how much coverage we get from the US stare Whenever something like this happens in the US, it's all over the newspapers, swallowing the domestic news. If this had happened in, say, England, it would be covered, of course, but not to this extent.

xd Of course it would be to that extent, it just doesn't happen cause Big Brothers big buisness over here. No one takes English news seriously, because it's all just the tabloids you pick up at the dodgy corner store anyway.
Hell, it's just cause it's an international school that everyone's heard about it, sheesh. Next you'll tell me that 911 should have been kept just to American papers.
They did well enough keeping the Amish school shooting out of too much press.
Edit: And call me Sun, s'not unfriendly like, I just don't like my name all over the boards. I gotta start reminding people again.

That's because the media is in to murders and things, and have a habit of telling people about it.
Those sick, twisted bastards.

No one was killed from friendly fire? Sunny, as the cops ran up the stairs the guy shot himself. There was actually NO bullets fired from the cops. By the time they reached the things, the dude had already off'd himself.

:shrugs: No friendly fire regardless then, would you rather they'd have gone in guns blazing?
Hell they can't read minds :snorts: It wasn't like one murder happened and they had a few weeks to profile anything. Hell they barely had a couple of hours and a campus that's absolutely enourmous.
What are we expecting?

Elevar They told the students about it.
...BY SENDING THEM EMAILS SAYING TWO PEOPLE WERE KILLED. Cause you know Uni-students check their emails every ten minutes. That and the fact that the e-mails were sent 2 1/2 hours AFTER the shooting had taken place. One guy actually called to see if something was going on after the first murder and the SCHOOL told him, "Proceed to your class with caution." As he was doing this, he was watching people running and screaming away from the building...

Sunstrike :shrugs: No friendly fire regardless then, would you rather they'd have gone in guns blazing? SWAT doesn't do the whole "Guns blazing" thing. SWAT is trained to NOT do that, cause, as you stated, it causes friendly fire and friendly fire can not be turned off in life.
