The ironic thing about a character whose career has spanned nearly 7 decades is that it's almost INEVITABLE that sometime during that period, SOMEone wrote/acted/sang/concieved of SOMEthing you'd like.

Horrifically enough, Mark Millar was the first. But now there's Azzarello, so it's all good. whee Actually I think the first Superman story that I really liked was one that Alex Ross did about Superman trying to use the grain reserves to feed people in third world countries. It was in his Mythology hardcover.

There's an online site full of Silver Age Superman stories (50's - 70's) and it spans SO many different ranges that it's amazing the wealth of storytelling there.

Jennifer_Walters Wasn't there a Superman Musical or am I thinking of something else? Yes, there is. I would LOVE to see this. I hear it's sorta campy, but the music is catchy. I *think* it's called "Look! Up in the sky!".....I'll have to check my Supes History book when I get home.

I want a Vertigo Superman title. Not with him killing people or random Lois boobs, but have him deal with thornier social issues like Hellblazer and Sandman did. I really like how Azzarello handled the idea of the political fallout of Superman's intervention, but it got lost when the story made the move into the heavier sci fi stuff and General Zod's appearance. I would really like to see more of him dealing with contemporary social and political issues because of his unique vantage point and ability to act.

I just love going to a decent camp musical. I always love reading the silver age comics of Supes and Batman. It's more the happier and more entertaining stories I like. Say Batmite V's Mr. Myxplyx, that's one I remember reading.

I just remember the fun issues first. *goes to investigate links*
