Opening her mouth to say more, Sundrea only closed it again. It wouldn't do good to go on about something like this. Best to put it behind them and get on with what they had to do. Blowing a gold strand from her face, Sundrea straightened up, hands resting on hips. "Well, I guess now's a better time than any. Is there anything I should know about this island or your friend? Like, I wouldn't be walking into some death trap, would I?" Her tone was laced with a bit of humor, knowing well enough that Tenkyl wouldn't do such a thing to her. And if she started distrusting him before ever getting there then things would get uncomfortable.

He grins and looks at her, then glances back out at the ocean. "Well, as long as you don't freak out and try to kill any serpants, all will go well." The grin turns into a smirk as he looks at her, gauging her reaction.

Sundrea simply snorted, hands still on hips. "I don't freak out and if I were to get attacked, the sucker's gonna get what it deserves." She then moved to the railing herself, peeking over to look at the water as they moved along. "Guess I should have brought a book along or something. It'd be nice to sit here on the deck and read for a few hours."

Tenkyl snickers as he looks over at her, "I didn't say you'll be attacked... I just said don't attack anything. And ya, I didn't really bring anything either, minus the ocarina."

"I know what you said." Looking back over the water, Sundrea resisted the urge to sigh. Already she was getting antsy, the urge to walk and move around making her pace. It was one reason she didn't travel by boat or anything else very often. She preferred to walk. "So what else is there to do while the boat cruises?"

Once again Tenkyl has the urge to say something, but holds his tongue. Instead, he decides to say something a little less obscene. "Well, I could always play my ocarina again and have you dance once more."

Sundrea thought on that a moment. It would certainly wear her down after a while so she wouldn't need to continually pace. "Alright. Let's do that. Maybe afterwards I can try my hand at cooking." Though she wasn't a master chef, she had learned a good deal about food and how to prepare it over the years. One side effect of living alone for so long. "Unless you've got a nice dinner in mind?"

Dante had been following Meria for quite some time, from her exeunt stage left at the mall, to her rendezvous at the hotel, All were very narrow and crwded places, and truly not where he wanted to try and subdue the girl. It was a surprisingly difficult track, not because Meria was particularity good at covering her tracks, but mostly because Dante was so very rusty in these kind of things. It had been well over two years since he had to fulfill such a function and now was bad time to fiquire out you were out of shape.

He had worried she would catch on, perhaps she had, it was irrelevant worse case scenario she would set and ambush and Dante would have to improvise. She wasnt about to kill him, heck shed have no reason to Dante had made no move towards her and now he doubted shed burst out and try and take him down. Now confront him... that was a whole different matter entirely. And he was okay with that, he knew he could get close that wasnt the issue, his aim wasnt the issue the issue was time he had strayed so much further away from the stadium than he had planned and he worried he may have to take measures in the field to take Meria with him. That of course would be a less than ideal situation but sadly push may come to shove, of course shove may be fun.. wait no.. that would wait He had to get Fae back in control first then he could worry about making up with her.

Dante pulled his sleeve back as he closed the tail distance from a few blocks to just one, the slight link he had with her was just enough to stay on her tail. Checking the three small tubes he ejected one of the small wooden spell sticks and checked one of the runes at the end, it was his last resort, they all had a small area of effect bu he had set the last one for very close and very wide, if he wasnt careful hed draw himself into the trap and end up uncomfortably close with Meria, he hoped however that, that would help Fae regain control... being displaced from oens mind was never fun but hey... sometimes good things can come of it.

With that check he did up his sleeve concealing the device and continued onwards closing the distance between him and the girl.

Meria had no clue about the link between Fae and Dante. In fact, that it was the link that was causing what should have been a seamless intergration into a struggle for power. But Meria had subdued Fae in the way she knew best and was content to leave it as such for the moment. She hadn't realized how much sway Fae had with the local population. Tabs are restraunts and bars, though most seemed astonished at how much Meria could put away. However, it was Fae's body so it still took her a while to process but suffice to say, she had no clue Dante was following her, though she had felt -a- presence for a bit now.

But for now, she didn't care. She was having fun shopping at the various stores, using Fae's credit with them to buy shiny jewelry and even prettier clothing. As for herself, she was still wearing the armor, oblivious to anything else but how strong she felt in it, and how very nice it was. It was however covered by a black trenchcoat she had picked up in the mall.

"Ma'am?" Meria looked up from the fabric she was fondling with a puzzled look.

"Yes?"

"We're closing." She shrugged and went back to glancing through the racks. "Ma'am, you need to leave. We've been closed for over an hour now." There was a glint in Meria's eyes as she looked up that caused the man to back up a step.

"Tch...pathetic.." She rolled her eyes and stepped out onto the dead street. It seemed that after each of the fights, Latent just died down lately. There was absolutely nothing of interest. Maybe she should just go find a bar again.

Dante took a deep breath as he rested his back against the wall of nearby street corner and tried to relax he tried to focus, but everything in him made him feel like he was about assassinate the woman he loved. He pushed the thought from his mind as he leaned forward and started towards her, but truly deep down inside he knew that if it wasnt for the fact his weapon was completely non-lethal (in fact shed probably enjoy it) he would think he was following a script for a kidnapping or Assassination, heck chapter one.. old friends..

"Faeriun!" Dante called as he was within about twenty feet or so from the girl smiling with the sort of devious grin you'd expect a newly-wed husband to have when he saw his wife for the first time in almost two weeks. "There you are, Ive been looking everywhere for you..."

His mind recounted his steps, no it was too soon he could have done it then put his arm out for a hug and planted both sticks into her side, irregardless of the armor the effect would be achieved, but he had hesitated he didnt know how confident Meria was in her betrayl, would she take him for a fool? most likely if she had, had the cajones to enter his workshop and steel a suit of armor she had no right to take he was fairly sure she would suspect Dante for a lovesick fool... there was still time, take it easy play her into it.

Meria turned at the sound of Fae's name, and resisted the urge to curse in about 27 different languages. Fight or flight. That was the question. She checked to make sure that Fae hadn't heard Dante's voice and then so sastified she looked at Dante with a smile that would be oh so easy to understand.

"Dante...I was starting to think something had happened to you. You never showed." Her lips formed a little moue of sulking before she began walking towards him, making sure he got a good view of what she had to offer, but not getting too close.

Dante took a deep breath and let out a sigh of happy relief just audible enough to be heard by Meria hopefully lowering her guard. As he closed the distance being so close Dante could certainly confirm that she was who he was looking for and he put his arms out to give her a big hug, there was nothing more to it, Dante was happy to see her though his motives were different than the one he showed his emotions were true. Wrapping her arms around her he would kiss her neck just below her left ear and smiled.

"Keiso mei Mateo" he said in a quiet intimate breath to her, he guessed it would take her a moment to fiqiure it out but it was a secret message for Fae and general comment to Meria. The message was 'Im here to take you home' or more specifically 'lets go home love'. pulling back his kept his hands on her has fin holding her hips in an intimate manner but their bodies barely distant.

"Ive missed you..."

There was a faint sound of distress as she was pressed against him. But wrapped her arms around him, seemingly trusting. "I need to apologize to you." She sounded completely contrite as she laid her head against his shoulder. The armor was still covered by the trenchcoat so it anything else wasn't obvious. Her short hair fell to brush against his face and shoulder.

Knight suddenly looked up from the game, and the pieces paused.

"Well, it depends on if you actually want to get a soul...really. I always misunderstand that part. Apparently, the more you put a person through in life, the faster they gain, personality, fortitude, direction. The trick is not to overdo it, and recycle often...often being...I dunno, every hundred years or so."

Something was really wrong, Jean wasn't where she was supposed to be anymore. Standing up Knights appeared to be listening closely to something.

Owle's little bracelet suddenly exploded to life and there was a crack and a heave as the portal reloacated to the fireplace, leaving Knights to go pale, and the board to get completely tipped over.

"Oh s**t."

Owle opened her mouth to form some retort, since even meddling in the best interests of a soul was still meddling. Gods didn't deserve to be the directors in the play; the world was a world, not a stage, and it oughtn't to be turned into a theater for higher beings to direct.

If they even were higher.

But then the bracelet exploded to life and Owle clasped one hand around it, as if she were afraid it would literally explode if she didn't contain it. A part of her mind was still occupied with the story, but then the board fell over, and the fireplace came to life, heaving and shifting as the portal relocated itself.

"What the ********, Owle didn't cuss too often. Circumstances as they were though..

Her eyes flashed to Knights, the singular question in them obvious even if he weren't so good at reading her.
