Hope tried to scope out the situation before she approached.

"Well, where is she?" the man demanded. He pressed the knife to Faith's neck again. "She'd better hurry."
"I said, she's coming," Jake said.

Hope walked up behind Jake and saw what was happening.

"Who's that girl?" the man demanded, seeing Hope. "That isn't the Medici brat! Liar!" He tugged Faith's hair and pushed the knife to her throat again for a moment.

When the hunter leaned back to pull Faith, Hope caused the ground under his feet to shift so that he would fall.
Faith tried to use this opportunity to slip away from him.

The hunter cried out as he fell.
Jake moved to catch Faith and pull her back with Hope.

Faith was already on the move and she was soon behind Hope, who crouched close to the ground. "Now are you going to leave us alone?" she asked.

"Once I get that girl," the man said. "I must accomplish my mission."
Hanyuu had woken up and had pushed Shane away from her. "I'm going!" she cried and started running for where Jake was.
"No!" Shane said, and tackled her.

"Sorry, we can't let that happen," the twins said together. A tree branched snapped off in a gust of wind and flew straight towards the hunter's head.

"Little brats!" the man cried. He stood up, and the branch connected with his lower back. He cried out and fell down.

Faith sighed. "well, that didn't take very long," she said and Hope relaxed a bit. "let's head back."
