Colche giggled as she rolled on to the sand, falling on to the pale beack in a flurry of water and fur.

Diving to her foot paws the cheetah girl turned to look at Marke and grinned before shaking herself doggy style. For a moment her fur stood on end making her look exceedingly fluffy and even more kitten like than usual "Sand castles!" Colche grins, she was a master at sand castle building!

Hopping up the beach a bit, she paused and looked to Marke with a bit of a puzzled look. "No bucket" she pouted and sat on the sand looking thoughtful, could you make sand castles without a bucket? Her tongue popped out from between ehr lips and she looked up waiting for marke to join her. The sun was warming her damp fur and she seemed quite happy to sit and get dry for a moment.

Maryke came out of the water and did her own shaking off, though it was no where near animalistic in anyway. It was mainly to her hair and she figured the sun would dry the rest. At Colche's inquiry Maryke let out a long 'hmmm' until she shrugged. "We can make mud huts then, they're kinda like sandcastles only....lumpier." She looked around and then found what she was looking for, "Here watch..."

With that she went back to the foot of the water, where beach met waves. Once there she began digging up the mud sand and then tossing it further on the beach. This was going to be used for later. Once she had a suffienct amount she quickly yanked up a seashell from the beach and set back to her new mud pile. Once there she waved Colche over and began shoving the mud together, mixing it with the richer drier sand using the shell to shape and mold.

Colche padded on over to watch marke's display sitting cross legged and curious, her soft furry, if some what damp features resting on what Marke was doing.

She reaches forwards with ehr left arm, her fur was flat against her body now, after alls he was rather soggy. Changes had not removed ehr of the strange welt on her wrist and when she was wet it was visable, a black lumpy mark around her wrist bone. The only true sign of her abuse still on her body, her fur had long ago removed the rest.

The little cheetah girl smiled though as Marke shaped the lump of sand in to a 'hut', she giggled, castles were fun but sand huts were certainly more messy and hands on. Giggling softly she grinned up at Marke happily. "s'purty" she puurrs watching intently as the shape formed in the sand.

Maryke was quite pleased with her finished result. She had even managed to weave little designs with the shell and added small openings for 'doors'. "Thanks," she said to Colche, happy to be sharing her new creation with something. When she said her thanks she looked over. And when she looked over she saw the welt and her body instantly stiffened.

Maryke had known abuse, mainly from her alcoholic mother and mainly for the gritty job she had before she clawed her way to the top of it. So just in seeing the telltale sign of it she inwardly blanced, but her face twisted back into a warm smile. "Now, what do you want to do now?" she asked, wiping some of the mud from her body even though it had gotten everywhere.

Colche giggled watching Marke quietly. This lady was fun and pretty too. Her furry ears twitched a little and she gave a little, wide mouthed yawn. "Naps?" she smiles, as much energy as the little cheetah girl posessed, it ran out pretty quickly, like the cheetah she was no so deeply fused with, she napped alot during the day, awake most during the morning and evening when the island was cooler.

Smiling lightly she dropped on to her back with a sandy sploosh looking up at the sky "lookit a duck" she giggles pointing at a random cloud that rolled through the sky. It probably looked nothing like a duck to anyone else but the little cheetah girl, but having recently discovered the art of cloud spotting she liked to do it as often as she could, though she had never done it with somone before. It was amazing what could be found in the clouds.

Maryke nodded and once seeing that Colche was cloud spotting she giggled and joined her, laying down on her back next to the girl. "Oh I see it!" she said after a moment of scrunching up her face to look and shielding against her eyes against the sun. Though the sun was settling so it wasn't as intense as before. And who could say if Maryke really DID see the duck or if she was pretending for Colche's sake.

The madame let her eyes tick back and forth across the sky, searching for some new cloud formation she could try to turn into something else. She remembered how Colche had zeroed in on the Disney dvds when she had first met her and so she figured she'd work with that.

"And look," she said pointing high, "See that big lumpy cloud over there? That's Cinderella's slipper...oh! and look at that one right next to it. Oh that must be the prince!" she exclaimed.

Colche's eyes drifted across the sky. She knew that cloud spotting was up to the imagination. But marke was clearly a good cloud spotter. she could see the slipper and the prince. She smiled happily her teeth flashing for a moment as she grinned.

"Does marke haves prince?" she questioned rather suddenly, turning slightly to look at the unchanged woman, her sweetly innocent blue eyes simply curious. "Mommy says all girls has princes" she smiled brightly, she could imagine Marke must have a very nice prince, she was a nice lady. Though, with a tinge of confusion she knew that Marke was somone special, somone who would understand.

At Colche's question Maryke kept her hazels eyes staring up towards the heavens, as if looking past it to the great black void beyond. A prince? Well, she had known countless men, men who used her and then drifted out of her life. Sometimes she had used them. But an honest to god prince? Someone who would love and care for her despite what'd she been through, the wrongs she had done. Hell, someone who would even love her?

She was at a loss of what to say. She couldn't lie to Colche, but she couldn't tell her that sometimes in this world there were bad things too, things that could consume and destroy you. She settled for an honest simple answer that still wouldn't sting the poor girl.

"I think I'm one of the few...," she said quietly, eyes showing just a glimmer of pain. "....that won't ever get a prince. But.." she added quickly, knowing that might damper the mood. "maybe one day I'll find him. And he'll come to sweep me off my feet. White stallion and all."

Colche smiled listening to Marke's words, she let them sink in, and she let a soft breath escape her, those blue eyes just for a breif moment perfectly serious. "Bad men, when not on island" a slight glimmer caught her lips and her eyes once again brushed away the sadness of the past.

"Marke find prince." She states, without a moments hesitation. "No horseys but lotsa prince on island" She giggles her tail flickering in the sand causing a little flurry of white dust. The little cheetah girl grinned and nudged marke on the shoulder with her nose. "You see" she puurrs her soft expression perfectly serious. She of course fully beleived everyone had a prince, some wheer, you just had to keep your eyes open for them, even if they didn't always have a white horse.

Maryke nodded and a short whispered "yes," escaped her lips. So Colche knew, well then thank god it hadn't effected her. She didn't know what had happened, but there was still that one something there. She wasn't going to press, but it made her feel that much more attached. She had let the bitterness wash over her in waves. Yet, Colche was still seeing the beauty in life. She inhaled sharply and then she too blinked away painful memories threatening to drift to the surface.

"I suppose I shall," she nodded, agreeing. At least she hadn't met anyone extremely horrible on the island. On a whim she pulled Colche closer, not like an animal or even the catlike creature she resembled. But more like a child or a younger sister. The warm rays of the sun and soft waves of the ocean was no doubt making them both sleepy, at least she knew she was.

"Would you like to hear a story?" she asked pleasantly.

Colche puurred happily snuggling in to Mrke cuddling the older woman a light puurr escaping her chest as she did so. She let a soft sigh escape her and closed ehr perfect blue eyes for a moment as she leaned against the other woman, finding comfort in the arms of someone whom understood without her having to say the words.

"Please, like stories" she whispers, not breaking away from the older woman happy to lay curled close to her a child in the arms of a mother, a little sister being held bythe elder, comforting each other without words. Words that were unecessarry it seemed. "I likes stories" she whispers closing her soft blue eyes her ears twitching to listen to the tale.

Maryke smiled all onto herself and swallowed the large lump that formed in her throat. God bless her little black heart, this was really starting to touch her. She then remembered her own sister, Adriana, her older sister who had been killed. Maybe in a way this could help fill the void that her sister's passing had brought. In any case she settled and then began.

"Once upon a time in a far far away land there lived a beautiful princess named Flor," she said, coming up with the story as she spoke. "She lived in a wonderful castle high in the clouds that was lined with rays of sunshine and sparkled with rainbows. Flor had everything a princess could ever want...but she was missing one thing...."

She paused for dramatic effect and then continued. "A prince! But, Flor couldn't seem to find a prince. She searched high and she searched low and....all in between. But still she could not find a prince." Maryke stopped a moment, trying to think of where she was talknig this and then merely kept talking. "Well little did she knew that prince was looking for her. He would get up every morning and look at the clouds, wondering if that's where his princess might be....then one day...."

By this time the madame's words drifted off into nothingness as she fell fast asleep, the story's ending still hanging on the tip of her tongue.

Colche listened to the story her ears eventually flatteningtightly against her head as she dozed off, the suns rays warming ehr tawny and black fur, her dark mane of hair flowing around ehr like a blanket. A soft happy little sigh escaped her as she slept, her chest moving in a rythmical pattern, her breathing gentle as the sea.

When the madame awoke she saw Colche nestled up close, still sleeping. A soft grin crossed Maryke's features and she slowly got up, careful not wake the sleeping cheatah girl. She made sure that Colche was okay, that nothing could get at her while she slept. Even though she figured nothing would and then she gathered up her things before heading back to her duplex.
