"Ah. . . yes! Now that's what I was forgetting," the old man said, grunting a little bit as he rearranged Shiro's weight in his arms. "Ray and Neil, wasn't it? That's right," he answered himself, picking up his pace now and walking so very quickly that the others nearly had to job to keep up with his long legs. For a nearly-white-haired, thin thing of a man, he sure had a lot of zest to his step. It was a moment before he spoke again, though, for dragging a body along wasn't exactly a leisurely thing to do on a darkening evening. "Rest assured, things are fine. Wait 'till we get inside." With that, the DayCare man spoke no more, and all was very quiet save for Crenu's broken breaths.
Light from a door crack appeared up ahead between two bright windows, and a silhouette of little lady pushed said door wide open and hustled down the porch to meet them. "My, my, come in immediately, it's getting nippy out here and you all look like you've had to wrestle wild Tauruses all day!" she urged, wrangling Larvitar and the rest of the Pokemon in before beckoning to the trainers. "My, that's a nasty case. . . Reino dear, bring that one in to the livingroom couch, it'll do for now." The Daycare man gave a nod in the affirmative and led himself and the random trainer away.
Meanwhile, the Daycare woman ushered everyone else into their kitchen/sitting-room, not giving them a chance to follow Crenu. "Your friend will be fine, think of yourselves for now. You all look rustled up! Sit here a moment while I get some bandaids and antiseptics for those little scrapes -- no, I take that back, go get changed and washed up a little in one of the empty rooms and hurry on out!" she ordered with her feathery voice that nevertheless seemed authoritative despite the quietness. Before she left, she paused a little, squinting at the twins. "Oh! If it isn't you two! I don't know what the full story is, but your Totodile came here this afternoon. . . he's sleeping somewhere outside, I believe." Then she disappeared, leaving them alone for a few minutes.
Mary-Anne's weary eyes drank in the sight of a couch, but nevertheless followed the woman's orders and slipped into one of the spare rooms of the small house. In the mirror, she saw a wild-haired girl with little scratches she hadn't felt or noticed before. With tired carelessness, she splashed water on her face and changed into her other set of clothes as quickly as she could, for she wasn't sure there were enough rooms for the all of them. When she came out, she saw that Neil and Ray were gone already, and was immediately herded into a chair where the woman daftly swept the scrape on her cheek and put a cottony square bandaid over it. The other cuts were of little consequence but still the old lady swabbed them with the stinging antiseptic nevertheless. Daemyn and Tora were already snoring away in their little corner, with Ulani nestled over them like a blanket; despite her long day, she couldn't help but smile a little.
More good news came. "A nurse had just come, and she's tending to your friend at the moment," the old man said, leaning against the doorway of the sitting-room. "According to her, the injuries are mostly external and aren't major, though she's brought enough equipment to keep an eye on him for the night in case something unpredictable occurs," he continued in that serious tone before lightening up considerably. "So, you two hungry? Or just wanna hit the sack? We'll keep you tonight."
Meanwhile, Neil was certainly not getting cleaned up anyplace; rather, him and his brother had wandered off into the small house, leaving through the back door to look for Totodile. The older of the two twins felt slightly guilty for leaving without a word, but was sure they wouldn't be needed; after all, the two's friend had there to help him (they'd seen her come in, actually) and they wouldn't be useful just siting there.

Crenu could remember nothing, nor feel anything. He was lost in his mind, the happenings of the outside world unknown to him. He only dreamed odd, strange dreams that left his mind as soon as they came. He could see himself as well as the figure of a smaller, younger person. The person was standing far away from him, yet he could clearly make out the shape of a boy, but no face. Crenu ran towards the boy, but as he got close to the boy, he was blocked by dark flames that consumed the little boy's body. He turned frantically and saw the figure of a tall girl. Running towards her, he watches as she too burst into dark flames mere seconds after he started running. He turned to see another three short figure standing away at a distance equal to that of the girl, who was now as far away from him as she was before he started running. He turned and say the boy still in flames also an equal distance. The three figures just stood there, and before he could think of running towards them they too burst into dark flames. A trail of flames came out of each figure, connecting them in what Crenu could only make out to be a triangle. He collapsed to his knees and watched in horror as the walls of the triangle started to close rapidly, he was trapped in this prison of dark flames. In an instant, he was consumed, the flames entering every part of his body. They did not burn, instead they were an unpleasant cold that chilled his very soul. The flames consumed him, and then, there was nothing but pitch black.

Crenu stirred in his sleep as the nurse tended to his eyes, as well as the other injuries in his body. As he lay there, he suddenly returned to the world of reality were eyes were open but minds were closed. The nurse watched as his eyes slowly opened, the left eye was fine and normal, but his right eye was having some trouble and only opened about half way. "Oh my, what resolve! You're awake already?" She said as she glanced down at him, putting her hands on his body and pushing him down. Despite his injuries, Crenu was trying desperately to get up. "No no no, you are to remain laying down! Strong resolve or not, you're body is still flesh and bone. I will not allow you to harm yourself, so just stay put!"
Crenu felt his body held against what he had gathered to be a couch. He tried to resist, but his body was barely responding to his commands and did not have the strength to win against this nurse. He gave in and lay back down quietly. His eyes scanned the room, the ceiling mostly, letting him make things out such as pictures, wooden walls, some other furniture, his clothes on a chair folded up and probably a little bloody, and when he was satisfied that he had gathered all the info he could from just looking, he spoke. "W-" His voice was weak, and it was a little hard to get his words together, his head still throbbed. "Where am I?" All he could tell from looking was that he was in some cabin, and not a hospital or pokecenter. The only pokecenter he knew in the area was in Goldenrod, as was the hospital. He must have been in the forest still, or at least near it. He wasn't sure how he got here, had this woman brought him? If so, he must have been near the forest because he doubted she could carry his limp body very far on her own. "Did, did you bring me here?"
"No, I was told you were brought in by a couple of trainers, this cabin belongs to an old couple that run a daycare for pokemon. Hold still please." As she spoke, the nurse continued to dress his wounds. She cleaned the many cuts and scraps on his body, the eye had stopped bleeding and was patched up with some bandages. "Some of these wounds are deep, and I've had to clean sand out of nearly all of them. Not to mention your eye and this rather large scarring on your back. It's just a bruise, but I think you'll have a mark for a while. What happened to you?"
Crenu winced every time that the disinfectant touched his skin, and he had to clench his fists when she rubbed hard to get sand out of the deeper ones. "I was a little to close to a sandstorm, and I gotta say I was inside it for a while. Ah! Don't do that so hard! Heh, and the thing on my back was probably from from that Shadow Ball I took, guess it was a direct hit."
"My goodness! You're suppose to let your pokemon do the battling, not you! Well, whatever the story, you got banged up pretty bad. You have to be more careful. I stitched up your eye when you were out, I used some anesthetic to keep you from waking up on me. It won't wear off for a few more hours, so you shouldn't even try to get up."
"Heh, fine." He relaxed a bit and let the nurse work, but a thought suddenly crossed his mind. He tried to sit up immediately, fighting the drugs just enough to get a few inches off from the couch, but fell back down again. The nurse held him down again and looked at his furiously. "Sorry, but my pokemon! And the swablu I had, what happened!"
"Settle down, they are fine and the Swablu is with her trainer. Your pokemon are in their pokeballs, once I'm done here we'll see about fixing them up as well, the old couple are really good with pokemon, they are almost as good as any pokecenter." She pointed to Crenu's clothes, ontop of them were his three pokeballs, with his pokemon inside. "They are inside, all except for your Larvitar. He refuses to stay in despite his burn and is keeping watch. I gave him something for his burn, but he still needs to be checked out." She said as Larvitar Jumped up and started tugging on Crenu's arm. Crenu smiled a little and put his hand on Larvitar's head. "I'm just about done here. You should get some rest, you're body is still weak. Honestly, a Shadow Ball to the back. You're lucky it isn't anything worse than it is, so stay put and sleep. Take these, they'll help with the pain and let you sleep."
Crenu laughed a little, and took his hand from Larvitar's head to take the pills. As he watched the nurse put on the last bandage and patch, he took some covers that were at his feet and pulled them over himself. "Go with her Larvitar, it's your turn to get fixed up now." Larvitar nodded and slowly trotted after the nurse, who had taken his pokealls. He was walking away when he collapsed, with Crenu safe his mission was over. The nurse sighed and returned Larvitar to his pokeball as well. She left the room and turned out the lights, Crenu was left alone, staring up at the dark. After a few minuets, he fell asleep.

Ray stood in the backyard of the day care center and clenched his fists. The Totodile looked so peaceful there, curled up by the small pond, its lone eye closed as it slept, a cute smile curving from the back of its jaw. "I... I can't..." Ray said quietly, looking down again.
"Well you can't just leave him here," Neil noted in a kind, brotherly tone.
"I... I know...," Ray sniffed. "It's just..." Ray began as he walked over silently to his sleeping Pokemon. "It's just, I want him to be happy." Sniffing a bit, Ray knelt down and placed a warm, soft hand on the little croc's belly. Kicking out, the small Totodile reacted happily to the warm touch, though it remained asleep, as if it was part of its dream. Having been startled back, Ray giggled a bit, a few more tears running along-side his bittersweet smile. Soon Ray found himself stroking the Totodile's belly again, gently and smoothly. In a pleading gesture, Ray looked back at his brother. Without the need to ask, Neil headed back inside, leaving the two alone in the back.
--
Having already eaten, Little Guy pecked Ky to be returned, at which Ky drowsily obeyed. "If I could just have a snack, that would be great," Ky asked with a drawl, not noticing that food had already been placed before he finished talking. Taking a seat in a nearby chair, Ky grabbed one of the muffins offered and began eating sleepily. "Thanks a lot, really," Ky added in between mouthfuls.
As the minutes passed by, the random trainer gave a friendly kiss to the nurse before heading out. Near the door though, the Hive Badge on Ky's backpack caught his eye. "If you're planning to fight Whitney by the way, you'll need to best me some time. But, take it easy first. I'll catcha later," he finished before going out the front door.
After Ky finished his snack, he still didn't have the energy to bother cleaning up, though the old lady did a good job cleaning his cuts while he ate. Instead, he shuffled off towards an open room and collapsed onto an already laid out mattress. In moments, Ky feel asleep, face solidly embedded into the pillow. Dreams began to take hold of his consciousness and soon small snores sounded sweetly from the young boy's mouth.
--
About an hour or so later, Niel went outside to fetch his brother. As soon as he entered the back yard though, he found it impossible not to smile. Curled up by the small pond, both Ray and his Totodile lay, side by side asleep, with one of Ray's arms lovingly curled around the small croc's body. Though Neil would've enjoyed watching them longer, the night was getting late and a decision had to be made.
Walking over quietly, Niel tapped Ray a few times on the shoulder until Ray's eyes slowly opened. Yawning a bit, Ray reluctantly inched away from his Totodile while being careful not to wake him. Still sound asleep, Ray's Pokemon stayed as it was, though noticeably shivering from the sudden lack of warmth.
"I talked to the old lady, and I found out what to do," Niel whispered. Still finding it too loud, he brought himself closer to Ray's ear to tell him the rest. After he finished, Ray nodded sadly, new tears replacing the old streaks.
When they re-entered the cottage, the old lady met them with a serious look, glancing over towards the room Ky was in. "Is this really what you two want to do?" she asked with a sigh. Without hesitation the two boys nodded, with Ray holding his older brother's arm tightly. On the table, a paper and pencil had been given, which Niel then used to write:
Ky,
Even though we fought and yelled at each other, we want to thank you for helping us chase after Ray's Totodile. The problem is, we don't think that the Totodile wants to be with Ray anymore, and so we want to give him to a nice trainer. I know we just met, but we both think that you're very nice to your Pokemon, and so we want you to have him. We already released him out back.
~ Niel and Ray
PS: His name is Rex!
Niel folded up the paper carefully until it was the size of his hand and handed it to Ray, who in turn handed it to the old lady. Looking at the note carefully, the lady then nodded with a sympathetic smile. "Take care you two," she said finally.
After exiting the house, it wasn't until they had walked a few yards that Ray could let himself go. Though not loud, Ray's cries could be heard from the doorway by the old woman, who waving good-bye had a hard enough time not shedding a tear herself. With one arm wrapping gently around his younger brother, Niel turned to wave as well. Ray, on the other hand, could only let his sobs fade into the distance. It hurt too much to look back.

"Dodge it Skiploom! You are faster then that over grown plug! So lets jump up!" The Bug Catcher ordered. Obeying its trainer the Skiploom jumped high up into the air its light body and its little 'wings' keeping it up. The Skiploom was knocked around a little bit as the top of the plug hit its feet. "All right nice dodge! Now lets pick up your speed even more with your Sunny Day!" Giving a small cheer the grass/flying type pokemon shot out a large ball of light from the flower on the top of its head. Once released it started glowing as the new light added to its speed.
"Well if we have to stop it would be ok. Just keep doing great Kilik!" Robin cheered from the side. Next to her Luffy watched with wide eyes from under Hat. The cool plug and the funny flower were having an awesome battle. It was even cooler when the funny flower shot out that huge light ball. Luffy only wished that he could have a battle himself right now to show off his skills as well. Maybe latter right now he had to watch this awesome showdown. As the all ready fairly warm weather got warmer Robin rolled up her sleeves, looking down at Luffy she wished she had a hat as well, looking over at Kilik though she wondered how he could stand the heat at the moment.

Steffi yawned. This day was taking way too long. I really need something to occupy myself with. she thought to herself vaguely. She gulped down her rice-ball her mother had packed her. It was delicious, but she thought that she needed more adventure in her life. She needed to move away from the safety of home at Cherrygrove. Sparky was tired of training against Weedle in the small bushes 20 meters from their home.
Steffi looked over at her darling companion, who was sitting contently on a rock. The small pikachu was holding a tiny rice ball and devouring it joyfully. Sighing, Steffi stood up and stared up at the sun.
"Come on Sparky." she said. "We're going home." The small Pikachu's ears perked. He looked up at his master, wondering why they had to go home all of a sudden. The sun was still high up in the sky.
"Pikaa..." he moaned in annoyance. "Oh don't worry my little boy, this is the last time we're ever going home!"
"Piii??" Sparky said in happiness, slightly confused.
"Yup! We're never going home again. I'm gonna tell mom that I'm really going to head off now! I heard there's a gym in Violet City, really close to here! If we keep training you we're bound to get good enough to beat whoever waits there!"
"Pikachu!!" Sparky screeched. He was afraid of battling a scary gym leader. They probably had all these scary big pokemon that could rip him apart.
"It's ok, you'll get better and stronger. I promise!" Steffi assured him, picking him up and tossing him in the air. She cleaned up their mess, stuffed it all in her large backpack and started to head off home.

Kilik lifted an arm to shield his face from the sudden increase in the sun's radiance. He winced slightly; he was so used to the cloudier weather. The sudden appearance of the sun (and so brightly, too) seemed to hurt. Kilik growled from beneath his arm, his teeth clearly visible. "Elekid!" he barked, "Let's finish this as fast as we can." Suddenly, it hit him. The boy raised an eyebrow. Sunny Day would make Solarbeam ready faster than normal, but considering the low-level of his Skiploom...he can't be planning that. He dropped his hand to his side, keeping one of his eyes closed. Why would he boost up the sun...?
Elekid looked over at his trainer for a command. What would he do? With Skiploom floating over him, there wasn't much that he could do at the moment. Sure, Shock Wave would work, but his charge was a little low and he was sure the attack would be less effective than when he was holding back his pent up energy. The command wasn't coming.
Kilik didn't issue a command for a few more moments. He was too preoccupied with trying to find a reason behind the strange decision of using Sunny Day. He growled again and clenched his fists together, which in turn caused his closed eye to tighten shut more. "Elekid, I..." he relaxed very slightly; almost unnoticeable. He couldn't think of anything, "Defend yourself as best you can against whatever he's going to do!"
Elekid also bared his teeth in a growl, a very small fang noticeable in his mouth. He dug his feet into the dirt and crossed his small arms over his body, ready to go.

"Haha! I bet you are wondering why I used Sunny Day! Well I am not going to tell you! This should be a good hint though! Skiploom use Synthesis and restore the health that you lost!" Laughing as it floated around the small Skiploom glowed even brighter and all the damage that was done before was completely healed. "Haha! I bet you liked that!" The Skiploom jumped around clearly happy as it zipped around its speed doubled under the sunlight as it gained its energy from it.
Suddenly Robin got what the other strange Bug Trainer was doing. She had seen a similar strategy used in a match that was on tv a few nights ago. "Kilik its using its Chlorophyll ability to-" She was cut off by Luffy's tail covering her mouth. Frowning she looked over at the monkey not sure what was going on. Luffy had apparently jumped up onto her shoulder and had clamped his tail over her mouth.
The Aipom had a determined look on his face as he watched the battle. This was a battle between men and he could not allow his trainer to interfere. The moment of seriousness was gone and Luffy was back to being his goofy self with a big goofy grin on his face.

Kilik snapped his fingers, growling in contempt. Coward, was all that crossed his mind before Robin piped up about the Bug Catcher's use of Skiploom's ability. His eyes widened and the sunlight made his pupils shrink. Of course! Chlorophyll! Skiploom's speed... "Elekid! It's going to be much faster than you now!" The boy clenched his fists, "Don't let it get the upper hand that way! Use Shock Wave once more!" The air was sliced by his hand.
Of course, of course. How could he have been so blind? Then again, Skiploom weren't native to Hoenn and though he'd read enough books, they weren't exactly a showcased creature. Kilik decided to not blame himself on his unknowing; it was just coincidence that this trainer had a Pokemon he didn't know much about. Still, it tugged at the back of his mind.
Another Shock Wave? Against something that could heal itself? How would he be able to pull a victory out of this? Nevertheless, Elekid charged up his power and glared up at Skiploom in the blinding sunlight. Thankfully, Shock Wave couldn't miss. Elekid unleashed his power with a cry out, the electricity pouring out of the two prongs on the top of his head.

"Gah! Stop it with the Shock Waves!" The Bug Catcher person pouted stomping on the ground. "Fine lets have it taste your Poison Powder Skiploom!" He shouted all the while stomping on the ground in irritation. The Skiploom dove down from its space in the air and flew towards Elekid spewing purple powder from its flower. The small Elekid was surrounded by the purple powder but that didn't mean that the poison kicked in.
Standing on the side lines Robin watched with worry on her face. She hoped that Kilik's cute little Elekid wasn't poisoned, they were only halfway to Cherrygrove right now. On her shoulder Luffy didn't quite understand that the purple powder was bad. To him it looked like some kind of yummy purple sugar stuff. If it wasn't a battle between men then Luffy would have jumped right in and eaten some of the yummy looking purple sugar.

Kilik swore under his breath. First he heals himself and now... He glared at his Elekid, noticing immediately the dark lines that appeared under his eyes. The Poison was beginning to take effect. I don't have long to finish this battle. I either finish him off in three moves, or Elekid goes down for the count. The boy looked over at Robin again for support then snarled at the battlefield. "Stop it?" he repeated, "It works so well. Plus," he smirked, lowering his head so that the his hair cast a shadow over his face, "It's nice to know that I'm getting to you!" On his emphasized word, Kilik sliced the air with his hand.
"Once more, Elekid! Push it!" he snapped.
The Kilik outside of battle and the Kilik inside were two completely different people to the poor Elekid. Just ten minutes ago, he had seen a happier side to his trainer. Now that he was engrossed in battle, the more aggressive side appeared. He clenched his hands together and punched his fists against each other. Sparks flew as he let out another cry. Massive sparks shot out of the top of his head in another Shock Wave.
I hate using the same move time and again... he thought, But with this Poison...Maybe Elekid wasn't the right choice for this battle. I'd be finished by now if I had used Lairon... He hung his head slightly. He truly felt defeated already.

Yume walked along the path with her best friend pix with her. This morning she had finally bade goodbye to her mother and left with pix to explore the world outside. This was the greatest thing Yume could have thought of, and now all there was just to meet up with steffi and battle along with her.
Pix was a vulpix and a pretty one at that. With Large round eyes and her uniquely never-messed coat. She trotted along looking ahead. Ears twitching to the sounds of the insect pokemon nearby. Her tail swishing along to the beat.
Together they had crossed a few places already, yet somehow there was no wild pokemon brave enough to battle them, or any trainers to battle. It was going to get boring if nothing exciting happened. That was the main point why Yume was out here anyway.
Pix turned and stopped around a large shady tree, she needed a rest. They had been walking for awhile now ; suddenly, her stomach growled. Loud. She felt herself flush abit. "Pii.." She said to her master.
Yume watched as Pix turned away from their path and strayed along to a tree where she stomach growled loudly, yume chuckled and followed suit. " Well.. It is already a lil way after lunch time and i AM hungry too. Suppose your feet are sore huh little Pix?" Yume said settling down beside Pix and picking her up and onto her lap. She open her little backpack and took out 3 rice balls that her mother had packed for her. She broke one in half and gave half to Pix. Now each of them had an equal share. She smiled gently to Pix, stroking her lovingly.
Pix was enjoying herself then, being stroked by her master was one of life's greatest things. Her masters hands were always so soft and always knew where she was sore. Happily she started eating the rice balls her master had given her. With her mouth full, she said , "Voo-l-pix!" Wagging her bushy tail.

"Ack! Use Synthesis again!" He shrieked his reaction overly dramatic as he squealed hoping that his pokemon could act fast enough to save itself from the next Shock Wave attack. It was hard to tell as the Skiploom started glowing the moment that the attack hit. There was a bright light that caused everyone there to cover there eyes so not to be blinded. When the light settled down the Skiploom was lying on the ground knocked out and steam coming out of it as it twitched due to the left over electricity. The only pokemon on the field who was left standing was Elekid.
Seeing that Robin let out a loud squeal Robin ran over to Kilik, Luffy still on her shoulder a grin on his face and tail hand holding onto Hat. Without realizing it Robin grabbed Kilik and gave him a big hug. "You did it Kilik! You're the best ever!" Suddenly she understood what she had just done and jumped back with an embarrised blush on her face. "Sorry..." Luffy though scampered down and ran over to Elekid appearing right in front of his face with a big grin on his face.
Across from them the Bug Catcher gave out a loud dramatic 'No!' as he ran to his fallen pokemon! "You will rue the day you cross me! I will let you pass today but do not think that I wont hunt you down and defeat you!" Those were his last words before he grabbed his pokemon and ran out into the forest.

Kilik patted the girl on the back when she hugged him, but didn't say anything. Without a word, he recalled his Elekid to the Pokeball and attached it back to his belt. "You see?" he told the boy, "I always get what I want." He tossed a look over to Robin.
"This is the point where we run," he told her sternly. His expression was difficult to read, surely. His fists clenched against nothing. Luckily, the sun disappeared again behind the clouds once Skiploom disappeared into it's Pokeball. Stretching his legs a bit, Kilik turned his back on Robin. "Elekid needs a Pokemon Center. Try to keep up."
With that, Kilik broke into a dead run towards the south, his arms moving back and forth in time with his legs.

Running? Robin Hated running with a capital H. Groaning she chased after Kilik the best that she could her legs pumping as fast as she could. Ok so maybe she wasn't in the best of shape but that didn't make running any less of a punishment. She didn't even make it three minutes before she all ready felt like she was getting more out of breath. Beside her running easily was Luffy who looked up at her with an encouraging grin on his face. Upon seeing her pokemon's cheerful grin she grinned as she felt like she had a bunch more energy then usual. Feeling much more energized she smiled back at the Aipom before running after Kilik with renewed energy. However not all was going for them. Ahead of Kilik, they could just see him ahead, a Ledyba popped out in front of him. Not wanting to slow him down Robin shouted to Luffy. "Fake Out that Ledyba Luffy! Keep going Kilik we will take care of this for you!" It was the closest thing she could do to helping him after that one battle he won for her earlier.
Picking up speed and easily passing both Robin and Kilik Luffy sprang up and he prepaired a punch with one of his hands before spinning around and delivering a punch to it with his tail hand. Landing on the ground grin on his head he adjusted hat on his head before waving Kilik on showing he had everything under control. His only problem being that he couldn't show off his own fighting skills in front of the cool plug.
Finally catching up to her pokemon Robin panted slightly. "All right Luffy while it can't move use your Sand Attack on it!" Grinning Luffy grabbed a fistful of dirt from the ground and tossed it at the bug hitting it right in the face.
