Samantha blinked in surprise and then awkwardly patted the girl on the shoulder. "Your welcome... is there anything else I can do to help you?"

"No, you've been wonderful. Thank you so much!!!" She waved and then ran off. She knew where she was now, and if she hadn't been so late, she would have stayed longer and gotten to know the girl better. But as she ran, a ID card fell from her back pocket, giving away her idenity.

Sam watched the card fall and even opened her mouth to call out as a gust of wind picked up the card and sent it back to the sam. She read the information and decided to return it to Kitty a little later. It was still strange that she would dream about things that had really happened... and not the ones that were published... but right now Sam had another three pages of triganometry homework to finish, and a stupid term paper that was only half finished..."Whoever thought up the idea of homework obviously had far too much time on their hands." stare

Well...*Raven searched for another thermal and happily let the hot air take her high over the town* Munin did not enjoy her banishment, to say the least... from what I understand she felt betrayed by her master, and abandoned by her family.

Munin wandered the world in a state of disillusionment, she didn't care where she was, or what was going on around her... She fell into a trap laid especially for someone with her power, a man named Gabriel captured her and tried to steal her powers. He spent months trying to figure out how to take her powers, but he failed... it came to the point where he was just going to kill her out of frustration. There was another prisoner in the tower, an elemental who actually knew Munin from before her banishment. Gabriel had tortured and almost mentally destroyed the elemental, before he killed her. Her soul reached out and found Munin’s... the two souls joined forces and together they tore the world down around Gabriel's ears, literally!

*She swung slightly to the north to soar across the city* Gabriel was dead, the elemental was lost in her own pain and Munin was hurt and weak and she sort of slipped into a mental coma... I woke up shortly after that, buried in the rubble of Gabriel's tower and with the mind of an infant... I found that I could access Munin's memory when I needed something though, I could understand it when people spoke to me, although it took me a little while to get the hang of talking sweatdrop and walking for that matter... it was at least fifty years before I got the first hint that there was someone else in my head with me! Munin was very quiet for a long time... she didn't really like me at first, perhaps it was just that she didn't understand where I had come from. Eventually she realized that I was here to stay, and this body was more mine than hers, she started to help me a little more.

Then we met Enki Leviathan, and shortly after that Sunstrike... things changed between Munin and I around then, she started to take an interest in the world again...*She landed on the top ledge of a building looking out over the forest that separated Latent from the stadium*

Owle Isohos
"HUMBLEBUMBLE!"

The shout rang through the marketplace as the confused monster came crashing through the town square...just as the Peasant, whose name was Adrian, came wandering through.

He dove to the side, the quick reflexes he gained from years of herding sheep a burst of adrenaline serving him well. Now, Adrian was no warrior. He was a sheperd. He couldn't exactly slay the monstrous creature that had charged straight in front of him, but he did have a sort of natural empathy with big, dumb, creatures. Like sheep.

Like HumbleBumble.

"Uh..." Owle paused a moment to think about exactly how Adrian would soothe the monster, and in that pause she would answer Knights explanation.

"Are you telling me that you'd actually act these things out?" she asked sharply, her eyes resembling tiny toy daggers as she spoke.

Obviously she did not approve.

"There, there," Adrian said, stepping forward. "There, there."

His hands were up in front of him, his voice soothing. He had caught the attention of the monster.

"Humblebumble?"

"That's right, just calm down...'atta boy..." He continued to approach the monster, slowly.

"Humblebumble!" And the monster scooped him up into a great big hug and spun him around.

Stay calm stay calm stay calm! Adrian counseled himself, even though his entire life was flashing before his eyes. "Whoa, there, big guy! Calm down. Say, I'm going to the castle to see a pretty lady. You wanna come with me?"

"Humblebumble!"

And Humblebumble lifted the peasant onto his shoulder, and the two together set off toward the Princess.

Owle smirked, lifting her eyes from the board for a moment. "Thanks. I was wondering how in the world I was going to get him into the main story."

As for the Knight and the Dragon...well, two could play at that game. A false lead in the wrong direction for the Knight, whose name was Rothgar, and an interesting new fondue recipe for the Dragon, whose name was also Adrian, served to keep those two pieces apart for now. She knew what would happen if they met too early, but the story was far more dramatic if the clash between them was the final one.

The Witch...the Witch wasn't doing anything, yet. No point in talking about her to detract from the story. She was in her cave, with her cauldron. And the Princess, Adrienne, was still in her castle.

Are we sensing a pattern with names here?

"Well," And the princess piece shifted slightly. She was having issues with her parents and was figuring out how to escape this place she resided, unknowing that a shepherd and a ...thing was making it's way to her...the witch, who was in deep meditation, saw the pining girl through her cauldron.

"It passed the time. And the boards were bigger. Souls need direction you know, else they just go jump off cliffs like lemmings."

The witch piece appeared next to the princess in a puff of smoke.

One wish A crooked finger raised up to the pretty little girl. You can be free, but I must be able to garner you're looks for one full day and night. Then you will have your freedom.

Give up her beauty for this old hag?! But the thought of freedom tasted so sweet to the naive young girl.

Bargain struck. Suddenly the witch piece was in the castle, and the princess's was in the swamp, over a cauldron.

The knight also shifted itself, indeed distracted in a false direction, straight towards what the locals would call a "wicked" witch.

"Though the way Sun would play, you'd think he had a thing for lemmings," A snort. "Specially towards the end. Henry and Serin would really get ticked off at him."

Again he listened intently. As the story went on his eyes widened, his gaze deepened. It was like someone was rippling a hole in the fabric of his paradigm. There was no fear, just....shock. Complete shock.

Of course the scenery was so exquisite that it added to the reaction. Cars, houses, bicycles, planes high in the sky. And the very idea that houses should be so close to each other, and on top of each other, it was astonishing. Architecture had gone so far...and these peope, some of them walked the streets talking to little flat boxes...and yet he could see emotion pouring through those boxes! It was fascinating! Astonishing, and utterly mindblowing, which of course only served to worsen the state of his already shattered mind.

Gradually the surprise grew and grew, so that by the time his feet landed on the rooftop, he had a blank look of complete surprise across his sharp features.

Oh my....

He really didnt know how else to say it, or how else exactly to put his feelings. It was a very large wieght and not at all what he expected. But then a smile started to sneak across his thin lips, and his cheeks gently lifted and widened. It wasnt a bad surprise, just a total surprise. He even laughed, of course never a mocking outlandish laugh, just a chuckle behind the back of his hand.

He knew he would have days, weeks, if not years to learn of this new world in which they found themselves and so he focused that much more on the story at hand.

You have lived quite the fascinating life m'Lady, and dare I thought the arrival of simple spirit such as myself would be...a shock, at the very least. It is no wonder that you have been able to take this all in such a stride...I do believe it more accurate that I have droves to learn from you!

*The red headed woman reappeared again in place of the bird, standing on the ledge of the building and looking down at all the ant sized people* I adapt well... I didn't like getting shot, and watching the people that I care about being hurt tends to annoy me to a very bad point...
*She looked back at Maddick, her hair drifting lightly around her in the breeze* but otherwise I think I am easy to get along with wink

I run a clinic in Durem... I try to help people who are sick or hurt.. would you like to see it?*She was slightly amused by his apparent fascination with the changes that the world had undergone, wondering if he had not noticed the new little toys and technological advances that had been implemented in the stadium*
PostPosted: Thu Dec 28, 2006 6:33 am

A single realization grew more and more intense. The more she spoke the more it seemed completely obvious, and more exactly, true. Raven quite simply had one of the purest souls Maddick had ever seen.

She mentioned being shot at, and yet never mentioned anamosity toward the hunters, as if there was none. Instead she mentioned her feelings toward those she cared for...her desire to protect.

The clinic sealed the fact. While Maddick knew hospitals as wonderful places to draw sustinence from people who are not exactly using it...and who can vanish without suspicision. But to see it from her point of view would be a journey most interesting. He listened with a charmed smile on his face, and that was exactly what he was, charmed. By the pure beacon of light infront of him, surviving in a world so dark.

He took a formal bow, to properly answer her.

I would love nothing more.

*Raven clapped her hands and grinned happily, a very childish move and yet it was just so normal for her* we are off then.. if ever you feel the need to linger or investigate something closer just let me know wink

*With that Rave and her mental friend disappeared in another burst of black sparkles*

Sunray Tristram
Since organizing was rather pointless, Sundrea took her bag into the small cabin, dropping onto the bed to sit. If she couldn't go through ship supplies, she'd go through personal ones. Pulling out her things, she began to pick through everything including weapons, jewels, slips of paper and more. It kept her mind busy and off other things.

Tenkyl, not really having anything else to do, he goes over to the supplies on the desk and starts putting them away. The water and food he puts into the cooler before setting the cooler aside before looking around at the ocean surrounding them.

Antsy and bored, Sundrea quickly put her things away. There was only but so many things to organize and so many times to do it. She also couldn't sit around like she was, annoyed and broading. Deciding she needed to do something about it, Sundrea stood and went back on deck, moving over toward Tenkyl when spotting home. "I'm...sorry about before," she said to him, stopping a couple feet away.

Tenkyl turns to her and cocks an eyebrow slowly, "You're sorry? it was tottally my fault for doing what I did. I shouldn't have." He then turns and leans over the railings, looking back out over the ocean.

"It passed the time. And the boards were bigger. Souls need direction you know, else they just go jump off cliffs like lemmings."

"Not true," she hissed the words at him. Her whole body seemed taut, muscles that had begun to relax suddenly tensing in anger. But even in anger, she had a game to play. How could she get out of this?

"You'd be surprised what souls can do when they're not meddled with."

The Dragon's new fondue recipe required a special ingredient that grew only on the edge of the Witch's swamp. The great red beast, who happened to be friendly with the Witch, swooped down on the outskirts to gather some, when suddenly...

"For King Adrian the 31st!"

The Knight came bearing down on him, Sir Rothgar in shining helm and polished lance against the fiery chef dragon. The Dragon, who's name was also Adrian, reared it's head and...

~*~

The princess found herself staring into a cauldron, the reflection of a twisted old hag staring back at her. "Is that me?" she gasped, bringing a gnarled hand to her face to feel the wrinkles in the weathered skin. She couldn't go out like this...no, no one could see her like this! One full day and one full night, the witch had said...well, she would just have to wait until then.

~*~

Adrian the Peasant and Humblebumble made it to the castle gates, where they were immediately set upon by the guards.

"A monster!"

"Kill it dead!"

"For the crown!"

"HUMBLEBUMBLE!"

The two-headed beast danced and lumbered clumsily this way and that, trying desperately to avoid the swings of their swords.

"Stop it!" the Peasant shouted from his perch on HumbleBumble's shoulder. "HumbleBumble is NOT a monster!"

But the guards weren't listening, and HumbleBumble wasn't fighting back...

"Run!" Adrian the peasant shouted to Humblebumble, giving the beast a slap on the shoulder to emphasize the command. "Run away, HumbleBumble!"

"HUMBLEBUMBLE!"

Arms flailing, heads akimbo, Humblebumble lurched about and ran off, through the town, into the surrounding fields.

~*~

Rothgar was sprawled unconscious on the ground, injured but still alive. The Dragon poked him.

Rothgar groaned, but did not wake.

The Dragon knew there would be trouble if he died. Once you killed one knight, they all came after you thinking to avenge the death of their comrade. He would have to get this fellow patched up...but how...?

Of course, the Witch would know what to do! Scooping the Knight up in his powerful claws, the Dragon carried the fallen warrior into the swamp, towards the Witch's lair.

Owle hadn't forgotten the Witch as she tried to ignore the comment about lemmings, and Sun's liking for them. She tried very hard.

In the end, she left the Witch in the princess's guise to her own devices.

Sundrea blinked at him, not having expected a calm sort of reaction. When he looked away, her head tilted. "You're...not upset? Usually people are upset when I do that..." She bit at her lower lip and tilted her body a little to look more directly at his face. "I'm also sorry for storming off like that. I don't get surprised like that so I didn't really know how to handle it..." She now felt like she was rambling so Sundrea shut her mouth and gave a faint smile.

Tenkyl turns back around and smiles softly, his tail swaying behind him as he rests his elbows on the side of the boat. "Don't worry about it, doll."
