Binatica xXx_AlchemY_xXx Gelmax, I'm the only one here with any basis of clear knowledge. There's no such thing as a "basis of clear knowledge". To RP, you take a concept, definition, or idea, and go your own way with it. Declaring that everything within a certain category goes according to YOUR system, however, is crude and shows a lack of skill. It's okay for me to state what is and is not psionics, because my definition of psionics is "psychic powers". It is NOT okay for you to state what is and is not psionics because the definition of psionics YOU go by is "exactly what DnD says" and you appear to want to hold everyone else to that definition as well. I don't really care whether you use the DnD rulebooks as your bible or not, it makes you that much easier to kill. However, you apply your knowledge incorrectly and thus become a walking hazard to RPs everywhere. Goddamnit why the hell is my "7" key so dirty? When the ******** do I ever hit "7"? One of these days I'm going to have to figure out how to get these keys off and wash them. The point is, that six schools s**t ONLY applies to your character. It is PERFECTLY okay to say "Under my system, there are six major types of psionics", but it is NOT okay to say "Wrong, there are six major types of psionics". You're putting words in my mouth. I never said any of this s**t, and I'm sure as hell not pretending it's my bible. And I wasn't ever putting anyone down for being creative. And the six disciplines doesn't apply just to my character, any psionic power falls under one of those six categories, and I'll ******** prove it if you want.

Son Hakkai Ahh, but then you have to watch out for the 'hidden' defense characters. The ones who want you to attack, and the second you do they have something waiting to defend/counter it. When you mentioned mucus I'm assuming that you aren't talking about people who are defensive in unarmed CQC combat. Because when it comes to unarmed combat... I will DESTROY DEFENSIVE PEOPLE.

I play the hidden defense type, or am in this tournament. They are hard to play, but even harder to go against because they have the character built to be a defensive character, or somewhat defensive and then bust a move with spitting a wall of the defensive mucus in your face. I call 'em fake weakpoints and there's no reason to make them a category of character because it's really too simple for that. The basis is simple - everyone has weakpoints, people target weakpoints, so make fake weakpoints. However, I should point out that a conservative and cautious offense by a character will usually negate this advantage, since they'll test the weakpoints without endangering themselves.

Throws and grapples are your defense as an unarmed combatant, it's not often used for fear of accuisations of moding.
