Maia returned the kiss. Did he like it? He hadn't said anything, but he seemed to be happy. She didn't break the kiss to ask, instead wrapping her arms around him.

One hand moved low, pulling Maia to him by her lower back, pressing them together wholly, and the other moved to tangle affectionately in her blonde tresses. When the kiss did break he kept her close.
"I love you," he whispered. There was something more in his voice this time. He wanted nothing more than to cart her upstairs and show her just how much, but she wasn't ready and he wouldn't push. Hopefully she could feel it in his energy, in his body, in his voice and his manner.

Maia gave him another quick kiss. "I love you too," She said, smiling at him. She didn't pull away, instead, saying, "I sent Dari away. We could do something." Watch a movie, make dinner, go out. She wanted to celebrate his birthday with him. But how?

"Cuddle?" Maia suggested, "Whatever you like. It's your birthday," she leaned up on her toes to kiss him again, giving him a smile.

Boy, the mixed signals were killer. He smiled back down at her and kissed the tip of her nose.
"Cuddling. I can do that. We could cuddle and pretend to watch a movie from my bed." Amongst other things he was pretty sure weren't options at the moment?

Maia smiled, pulling away from Toby slightly. "Cuddling and a movie," she agreed, offering him her hand in order to lead him upstairs. "C'mon birthday boy."

So many mixed signals. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to initiate, just a little? If only his birthday wasn't so soon after Maia's return! He followed his girlfriend upstairs with a grin, and then began undoing his shirt while handing Maia the remote.
"Milady's choice."
Except the shirt thing. He really just wanted to feel her against his skin, even if it was just her warm clothes.

Maia turned on the television and flipped through the channels, pausing on the first movie channel she reached. She didn't look for a title, and after a glance at the screen, she nodded and looked to him.
Her eyes went over his chest as he undid his shirt.

Toby caught Maia staring and smirked. He slowed down the motion in taking off his shirt, making it sort of luxurious, sort of sensual. He had no shame in showing off his body to his girlfriend and he knew he was lean and fit. He bent his back slightly, flexing abdominal muscles as he held his shirt open, then slowly let it fall down one arm, then the other, and the shirt was on the floor.

Toby had Maia's full and undivided attention. She veered her eyes away after a moment, cheeks darkening. "I always thought you were handsome," Maia said, smiling at him. "Since I met you."

Toby didn't say anything, he just sauntered over to Maia, tipped her chin up with a finger, and kissed her deeply. It was all just for show, just to keep that blush going. He couldn't say why, exactly, he enjoyed teasing like this but he definitely did. His heart was quickening.

He certainly succeeded in that endeavor. Maia smiled softly up at him when the kiss broke, cheeks red. "I love you," she said.

Toby laughed. Poor, adorable little Maia. He took her red cheeks in his hands and kissed her on the lips, then began backward and gestured for her to join him on the bed. He wanted to hold her and maybe tease her just a little more.

Maia climbed onto the bed, scooting close to him. She leaned against him "Ready to pretend to watch a movie?" She asked, reaching a hand up ruffling his hair.
