[Noelle ~ The Black Pearl ~ Upper Deck]
Noelle was startled by Dawn's sudden shout and looked to see what happened. When she realized that Michelle was just tickling her, the agromancer sighed and went back to looking out on the water, chin resting on her hand. Before she was interrupted Dawn had shook her head and said the two words "I can't." Noelle's frustration flared up as her mind began drawing conclusions. She tried not to jump the gun, but couldn't help preparing herself to be disappointed. The blonde would ignore the two until Dawn gave her a more complete answer. She knew that Michelle wasn't aware that they were having a serious conversation, so she wasn't going to be angry--but that didn't help her impatience.

[John.:Hawaii:.Beach]Max Richter - EmbersJohn had secluded himself subconsciously only a little bit of ways away from where Amy resided. The sunset was indeed beautiful, and it calmed him to know that on the other side of that ocean, a home he once knew existed where all his family, friends, and a loved one would be... Ixi... I have a question...
Go ahead.
Well, more of a comment... ok, so you know how my world was destroyed, right?
Yes.
Ok, so this place... is my world. That's my sun, and this is my ocean... but not, if you can understand.
I understand... He felt a strange connection to Hawaii even though he realized that the world had been tainted by its combination with Angel Grove... there was something very real about stepping on what he believed to be American soil. It was like being home...
"...oh beautiful... for spacious skies..." he sang quietly. A tear began to well up in his eyes. The sun was setting once again on his "home"...
...then, once again, without warning, her image came into his mind. This time though, it was not of her death or of something terrible that might have happened to her, but it was of her sitting by the waves. Silently, the water barely came up to her pale feet and her body was a dark silhouette marked by the sunset. The sun did not burn to look at, and the position of it made the dark silhouette glow radiantly like an angel...
And then she was gone again.

[[Louis : Black Pearl : Below Deck]]
The arcanist opened his eyes and looked at Anthony with a warm smile of gratitude, "Ah, thanks for the update. I must have dozed off." Louis pressed off the wall with a shift of his weight and strolled forward, "By the way, in case I forgot to earlier, thanks again for keeping guard over Dawn and I when I was dealing with that little irritation." Louis chuckled a little at how lightly he'd described the situation.
"There's no knowing what might have happened if anyone had gotten up and arms and moved us, or worse separated us. And if I know this group well enough, at least one of them would have tried. I have this feeling, if anyone had moved my body in that state away from Dawn I might have never woken up. So in a way, I'm in your debt."
The boy stopped in front of the other, "You know, I'm not even sure we've been properly introduced. I don't even remember when you joined our little rag tag group of do-gooders, my apologies. My name is Louis, an Arcadian from Ivalice. I know it's late, but it's a pleasure to meet you, I hope we'll get along well."

[ Sora ; Kyle ; Kuja : Black Pearl : On Deck ]
Sora remained sitting on the railing of the helm, looking forward as he kicked his legs back and forth. Barbossa remained at the wheel, and Sora had gotten to know the man- at least a little. He wasn't nearly as fun as Jack was, but then, perhaps Sora was still a little suspicious. He'd had to help kill the undead captain back on Isla de Muerta just two years prior with Jack.
The Keyblade Master looked down, glancing at some of the girls playing around. Dawn certainly seemed a little better after that seal-thing had been solved (he'd asked around and put a few things together). Louis sure knew how to help out with the darker stuff, but Sora was still a little on edge after the incident on the Dutchman. Sure, Jacob was being a little grating, but to snap on him like that seemed extreme, especially considering the man's tranquil attitude.
Every once in a while, Sora would just hold his hand out and summon the Kingdom Key before tossing it into the air, where it would inevitably fall behind the ship, into the sea, and disappear. It was rather odd, not having anything to fight. The Heartless always seemed to be attracted to his Keyblade, and yet... for hours, without a single Shadow or Soldier. Sora was gullible, but he was experienced; he didn't like this at all. Something was holding back the Heartless... but what...
After Kyle's successful experiment with Joe, he'd returned above deck and made his way to his spot at the tip of the bow, staring out to sea. It had been really interesting, to be honest, but he'd controlled his curiosity- he knew better than to experiment on allies with magic he didn't completely understand, even with Ultima's reassurance.
He wasn't lying... he literally had to place a piece of his magical essence into the target, like leaving a Starlight floating about, waiting to be used... Only instead of making a later spell quicker to cast, it acts like a sustained enchantment...
The potential, Kyle had told Joe, was definitely worth looking into. Even then, though, he could only create so many of them. And that's what eased Kyle, at least a little bit, about what had happened to James and Dawn. Ajora couldn't do this with as many people as he pleased. He was placing sanctioned amounts of personal mana into each person; it didn't leave him weaker, but with less maximum energy until the seals were removed.
Even now, hours after Kyle had placed the seal on Joe, he could feel that his mana pool was lacking. Mana naturally regenerated, and by now he definitely should have been at full; instead, he wasn't quite there, maybe somewhere between 90 and 95 percent. And what he'd done to Joe was small in comparison to what Ajora did to James.
The small speck of land that came up on the horizon woke Kyle from his reverie of contemplation. They were almost there. It was almost time to split up and go their separate ways, and Kyle wondered just how long it would be before they could regroup.
[ Pseudo-Ajora : Below Deck ]
"Hmm... uses giant gauntlets... but that's about all you've got on'im," Ajora muttered, 'standing' beside Anthony and rubbing his chin, as if appraising the man in front of Louis. "Does he even know his element, I wonder? I mean, he's obviously got a Dress Sphere..."

[ Ajora ; Seymour : Hawaii : Beach ]
The Maester had long since returned to the group's side, though he preferred to remain in the shade of the palms. It wasn't that he got hot, or needed to cool himself off- he felt nothing. Merely that, from the shadows, he could keep an eye on things while remaining out of the ready view of those around him. His staff leaned against the side of the tree while he sat on the ground, his back leaned against it as well, one leg stretched out while the other pulled closer, knee bent vertically. His long hair lay carelessly in the sand beside him.
When he first returned, he'd been tempted to simply blast Ajora then and there. Not because he disliked the Replica; on the contrary, he was proving to be one of the few 'successful' failures, alongside Elleon. However, it would have been in character to do so, helping his 'allies'; he restrained when he saw the group ignoring him, for the most part. A pleasurable surprise; he would not have to destroy a useful entity after all.
Nicholas, however, had seemed a bit... friendly with the Replica, playing catch with him. Undoubtedly, the other Earthlings were already suspicious. Nicholas wouldn't last much longer in the group. He simply wasn't espionage material; with an aeon like Chaos, the Maester wasn't surprised. So long as the boy left no ties to him, he didn't care what happened. Perhaps he'd be better off with Ajora, anyway.
Ajora yawned, having almost fallen into a nice heat-induced nap. He'd lost interest in frisbee long ago, having resorted to a number of other things, like backflip contests and scouring the beach for anything of interest. At this particular moment, he seemed to be tanning, lying chest down on a beach towel with his head resting on his hands in front of him, his Command Seals still blatantly visible. He glanced over to the side, at the now lowering sun.
"Damn, is it that time already?" he groaned, slowly sitting up while stretching, his spine popping as he did so; his eye twitched at the sound. He couldn't stand that. "Guess I need to get back to work... ugh."

{Hawaii .:. Beach} Demyx was still playing his sitar, though the sun was descending and the party on the beach was winding down. He'd paused for rest a few times, even threw the frisbee with the others a time or two, but he still mostly remained in his little corner off to one side, supplying idle background noise. Seeing the kids goofing off brought back memories that should have been pleasant, and he smiled at them just to pretend he could still feel emotion. Sometimes, if he pretended hard enough, he could believe it...
He let his music dwindle down to a slow, relaxing tune as the games drew to a close.Bobbi lay flat on her back in the warm sand, breathless with laughter and exertion from the snow/water/mudball fight she, Dani, and Kyle had indulged in. She felt something on her face begin to crust over in the waning light, and lifted one hand to find herself covered practically head-to-toe in mud. With a faint chuckle, she rolled to her feet and headed into the ocean. She held her nose with one hand and closed her eyes tightly as she ducked under to allow the tide wash her clean. When she could move her face without anything flaking off of it, she walked backwards to shallower water, letting it lap against her legs as she stood watching the sunset. She was struck with a sudden pang of homesickness, which made no sense as she had never been able to actually sit and watch a sunset before. Oh, she had been outside and able to watch the dusk, but always before she had been distracted by trying to annoy the living daylights out of her brother, or sketching something, or reading, or playing her Game Boy or PSP. Maybe that was why she was homesick; she didn't have anything to distract her this time. "I wanna go home..." she muttered to herself, and was surprised to find her eyes dry instead of overflowing as they would normally be.

[Dawn : Black Pearl : Above Deck]
"Well sorry for needing to vent," Dawn mumbled with a slight pout as she took Michelle's hand, "Well you got your revenge, happy?" Dawn poked Michelle on the forehead to as a way to get her back. She loved Michelle but she could have some of the worse timing with the tickling.
She soon turned to Noelle, feeling bad about the situation. She wanted to give her a proper answer. She knew that it wasn't the answer the girl wanted to hear, but she couldn't lie to her or make a promise to Noelle or herself that she knew she couldn't keep.
"I am sorry, Noelle," Dawn finally said apologizing for both Michelle's disruption and the answer she was about to give, "I can't do it. I know it is stupid for me to say and it could cause more trouble than good, but I cannot do it. I have always been a person to listen to my heart. It is something I cannot, will not, ignore. It is my greatest weakness, but it is also my greatest strength... I hope you understand...."
Dawn looked away from both Noelle and Michelle (if she was still there). She stood there waiting for a reply from either one of them.

[Anthony ~.~ The Black Pearl ~.~ Lower Deck]"Oh, for sure!" Anthony said, making an effort to sound excited in spite everything he has been thinking about. "I'm just glad I could help in anyway I can!" The young man closed his eyes and smiled at the other, raising both hands up and linking them behind his head as he stretched the muscles in his upper back. When he opened his eyes, he saw that Louis had stepped closer and reintroduced himself. "Well... it's nice to re-meet you, Louis," the warrior-knight said, laughing. "My name is Anthony, a, uh... an Earthling from Earth." He furrowed his brows after the last part, moving his lips to the side, feeling how unimpressive his own introduction was in comparison to Louis'. "So in a way, I'm in your debt."Anthony's joyful charism slowly faded from his expression as his eyes fell to the wooden floor. "I don't mean to be forward or anything," he began, sounding rather disheartened and distracted. "But there's a favor I'd like to ask of you." The young man's eyes remained lowered, and continued to for the rest of the conversation. "Earlier... you said, uh... unless someone could use the... the darkness like you can, there's no way you could help James. I was wondering, if at all possible, if you could...""Unless one of you spontaneously finds the talent to use darkness like me, I won't get any help from anyone here on the boat. So don't get your hopes up yet." "...possibly...""...finds the talent to use darkness like me..." "...teach me...""...use darkness..." "...to use the darkness...?""...darkness..."

[ Pseudo-Ajora : Below Deck ]
"Anthony, hmm?" Ajora muttered; not loud enough to disturb Louis' own thoughts at the time, but 'out loud' enough that if he cared to hear him, he could. Ajora remained at Anthony's side, giving him a look over. That was quickly cut off when Anthony asked (after stuttering a bit) Louis to teach him to use the Darkness.
Ajora's jaw dropped and his eyes went wide. He slowly craned his neck so that he was facing Louis; the image of shock was rather humorous on the dragoon. Though his mouth remained wide open for a bit, his eyebrows raised slightly, showing that the surprise was a joyous one.
"Dude, you have to!" he said, looking absolutely enthralled, a mixture of excitement and hilarity added to his tone and expression. "That's just so perfect! Hell, I might not even need to make a Replica of these people if they come flocking to you so easily!"

[[Louis : Black Pearl : Below Deck -> Cargo Hold]]
"I could..." Louis answered simply before slipping past Anthony and motioning for him to follow, "The question is, are you sure that's something you want to do? You don't sound very confident. Darkness is... a tricky element. Extremely useful, but comes at a price usually. If you're sure about it, and I find you have the capability of doing so at any useful level, I'll teach you. However..." Louis trailed off a bit, "if I find you're not capable I'm only refusing to teach you because it would be safer for you in the long run."
Louis sighed as he thought about it, "The thing is, anyone is capable of using darkness. You, me, Dawn, Jenny... we're all capable of using it as long as we are capable of wielding the slightest bit of magic. The catch is most people tuck it away, ignore it and live in denial. Everyone has darkness in them, they are just afraid of it, so they think burying it is safer than acknowledging it and embracing it. Take Dawn for example. She has darkness in her heart, the seal on her hand was manipulating that darkness against her will. This is useful against someone who can't control their darkness, regardless of the amount. Reason being, if you never touch something and you don't know how to control it, much like an untamed animal in a cage, when the animal is stirred up and then released from the cage, you can't do anything to prevent something like that from happening."
Louis turned and walked into the cargo hold, jumping up on a crate and sitting down, "That's just the first step though, knowing, acknowledging, and understanding the darkness already within yourself. The next step, which is where it becomes tricky, is when you learn to project that darkness and manifest it in the physical world through the magical pathways that course throughout your entire body."
Louis yawned and stretched, "But,before I go any further, tell me a bit about yourself. Tell me about your past, significant events; a bit about your own personality, what drives you; and what your opinions are of darkness in general."
((I'm assuming Anthony will follow. Sorry for the lengthy conversation blocks.))

((It's all good, sir! ^^ I guess I should apologize ahead of time for my length post then... o.o))
[Anthony ~.~ The Black Pearl ~.~ Lower Deck]
"Confidence...," Anthony thought, lightly chuckling, his gaze still fixated on the floor as Louis spoke. "Always comes back to confidence..."
The young man turned and followed after Louis into the cargo hold, listening intently to everything he had to say. Each word that passed his lips filled the warrior-knight with anxiety. Would he be the same care-free and joyous person afterward? What if he couldn't control the darkness and end up destroying himself in the process? What if he hurt people because of the darkness?
"Confidence... Gotta be confident."
Anthony straightened his back and lifted his eyes just as they stepped into the cargo hold, his hands curling into fists for a moment before his fingers relaxed again. Confidence--or the lack of confidence has always been the young man's problem. He has always been too meek; too soft to a point where he would allow others to walk all over him just so they would be happy. A genuine people pleaser...
The warrior-knight has always been a man of balance, except for when it came to his faith (which was all or nothing, but even then he'd still slip up). You could say, at times, he was rather obsessive compulsive when it came to keeping order--even if most of the time it was subconsciously manifested. If he chewed on one hand, he had to chew on the other. If he scratched one side of his leg, he had to scratch the other. His metaphoric glass could never be half full or half empty--always just right.
This natural need for balance made it easy for Anthony to not only acknowledge his darkness along with the part of him that wanted to tap into that power, but made it easy for him to feel that he would be capable of wielding the darkness without being consumed by it.
This gave him confidence...
Anthony sat on the wooden flood and leaned back on his hands, looking up at Louis as he sat on top of a crate. He began to share with Louis events from his past and about his personality ((which could be found in my profile... o.o)). He spent a lot of time talking about his brothers and the depression he went through because of the lifestyle they had chosen. He spent a lot more time on the anger he felt constantly boiling inside of him, awaiting for the right moment to be triggered.
"As for darkness...," Anthony began, glancing away from Louis for the first time since they walked into the cargo hold. "I feel it's a necessity. Without darkness, we wouldn't know what light is... in a sense, I feel they both need to co-exist to truly understand the two." He turned his gaze back to Louis, then continued speaking. "I've always been a man of balance... I can't live my life avoiding a part of me that plays a role in defining who I am. I have both darkness and light in me--granted the light, at this moment, is much stronger--but darkness nevertheless. Though darkness usually has a negative reputation, I feel it could be used for good. I mean, you're an example of that. You saved Dawn... and if you're willing to teach me, we could save James."

[Noelle ~ The Black Pearl ~ Upper Deck]
Noelle didn't look at Dawn as she spoke, or after for that matter. Just as she had expected she didn't like the girl's answer. With a sigh she put her hands in her pockets and turned away from Dawn, shoulders dropped and head hanging slightly.
". . . Whatever." The agromancer said flatly, trying not to be harsh. She walked away, returning to the lower decks once more.
'Why does this make you so upset, human?' Eh? . . . Oh. It's just . . . there's a lot on the line and I don't want Dawn, of all people, to screw up on this. Michelle either. They're the two who care about James the most, so they will probably be the most instrumental in getting him back. 'And what about yourself?' What about me? I'm going below, I hardly think there's any chance of me getting James out of his fix. Not that I like being unable to help. I just know realistically that I'm not of any help. '. . . Are you trying to distance yourself?' Oh, quit it, I am not trying to-- 'The one person you've spent the most time with during the course of the day is Prote. And it seems like you're trying not to get close to Dawn.' What does ANY of that MATTER?! So what?! Why do you care that I-- 'LISTEN to yourself, Noelle!'
The agromancer paused in her wanderings below deck. She had arrived back at the galley while looking for a place to sit. Instead of taking up a bench, however, she just kicked a bucket and started to pace. She was angry and, of course, not seeing what Titan did. She just wanted him to be wrong so she could have a reason to continue to be angry. When Noelle didn't say anything in reply, her summon continued.
'You're NOT alone anymore, human. Look at you. You're a mess. You can't tell me you're breaking down now.' I'm not, I'm not! Jeezum, I just-- 'Quit doing what you're doing. I don't know what you think it is, but whatever you want to call it, cut it out. You're not helping yourself, or anyone else.'
With a sigh, Noelle finally dropped onto that bench and rested her elbows on her knees. She felt so angsty that she could hardly stand it. Her nerves did nothing for her morale and were beginning to take their tole.

{Kyle : Hawaii : Beach
Unlike the other two in their semi-battle, Kyle had come out of it relatively clean. After all, it wasn't like the mud could actually stay on him if he didn't want it to. He was somewhat cold however. Water plus snow usually didn't equal warmth. But at least the nice Hawaiian weather was awesome. Perfect temperature, perfect beach, it was astonishingly relaxing. He'd even let his guard down a bit, having not been attacked for hours, he found himself in a rare state of peace, rare back on Earth and certainly rare here. He'd found himself laying down on the sand, comfy as could be.
He was wishing that they wouldn't have to battle more. He didn't want to have to go back to that world of constant battles and threats, but he didn't want Earth to remain gone. So he had to fight. And even if he didn't have to, he wouldn't want to stay in Hawaii for the rest of his life. Not when there was so many places to see, so much to explore. Narnia and Disney Castle were obvious places to start, and if it was as big as it had been described, there were worlds meshed in that he had wanted to see for years, but they had moved to the back of his mind.
Watching Bobbi come out of the water, he took in the sunset as well. It was absolutely beautiful, better than anything he'd seen at home or at any of the beaches he'd visited before. It was a relaxing sight and he really had no inclination to move.

[Dani :: Hawaii :: Beach] Dani, who had not really moved yet, took in her recent post-battle surroundings. She had been hit with mud and snow so she was probably one of the coldest of the three. Because of her colder body temperature, Dani would shiver and convulse at weird intervals. “I have to get rid of the mud” Dani thought before getting off of the sand and going into the deeper water to get the mud and also warm herself up a bit.
After soaking for a couple minutes she walked back and stood next to Bobbi and watched the sunset with her and Kyle. “I think this is the first time I have seen a sunset on a beach before.” Dani commented for both Kyle and Bobbi to hear. After that she really didn’t say much at all but did reach for Bobbi’s hand to enjoy the last bit of sun in that day.

[Michelle : Black Pearl : Above Deck (Walking in circles around it)]
Michelle hated being poked in the forehead as Dawn well knew but she let it go rubbing the spot till the awkward feeling went away. She wasn't dense, she realized as Dawn spoke to Noelle again, before the girl walked away, that they must have been having a rather serious conversation when she interrupted. As her brief joviality started to drain away again she felt unwanted bitterness at the fact that she couldn't even enjoy smiling for a little while.
"Don't take it that way young one, yes the timing was off, but it is still great that you were laughing again. No one wants to deign you a little levity, just because they didn't feel like joining in."
I know. She thought back with a mental sigh, and as she turned away from Dawn picking a path to walk in circles around the ship deck the urge to find a punching bag faded. I... I just miss him so much.
"I know you do little one just hang in there, we'll find him it's only a matter of time. The best gift you can give him right now is to make sure you keep it together while he is away. You know if he was here that your being depressed would only make him worry."
She had always hated, and loved, that about him. About the way they were together. Neither one could feel sad or sick or down at all without it affecting the other and bringing them into sync with the same mood. It could be so frustrating sometime when she just wanted to be aloud to cry, to let stuff out, and she dare not because she couldn't stand to cause him pain. And yet it was good in the end, she supposed, because she knew from experience that regardless of how important being aloud emotional freedom is, depression was never a positive or helpful state to be in. The way they fed off the other's mood forced them to both try and keep an optimistic attitude that was good for life. It was crazy sometimes, and it barely made sense others but then, that was love.
