Kero shakes his head at her, smiling still.
"Not just yet, sweetie. I have to find a good school first. I think it's time I found you a place to play with others and learn with others, specifically others of your own age."
Kero isn't kidding about this. Now that the thought occurs to him, he is flinging his mind far and wide, searching for a school, a first grade school, that is willing to accept a black dragon for who she was, and give her a chance. He knows there will not be many, but by the laws of chance and probability, there must be at least one. After all, an infinite universe provides infinite possibilities for infinite situations.

Surprisingly he finds one rather quickly and nearly brains himself for not thinking of it. At the edge of Lyssan's realm sits a school that not only accepts youngsters from the realm but also from outside of it as well. A closer inspection shows that while it does offer some tutoring in the arts, it's main focus is education. Talent was viewed as a skill there, nothing more.

Smiling, Kero tells Luna all about the school he has found for her. How there will be many others for her to play with, and how she will learn many many things. And he gives her a choice. They can stay in the box, or they can go back and she can go.

Suddenly she begins to put two and two together. "Will you and Mama be der?"
A look of extreme worry crosses her tiny face. Luna is not so sure she wants to go anywhere where Daddy and Mommy are not present.

Kero shakes his head, gathering his little girl into his arms.
"No sweetie. I am afraid that Mama and I won't be able to go to school with you. But I promise you that you will have fun. And a lot of it."

Shaking his head, Kero holds her close to his heart, letting her hear its beat. As he rocks with her and cuddles her, he gently hums a calming little song. Soon, she is calm in his arms, and he stops rocking, holding her on his lap as he gently pets her, his warm hand rubbing down her spine.
"Luna, sweetie, if you want to learn to read, you have to go to school. It is the only way, I promise. But...I know some other reasons you might want to go, even though I'm not there."
"Wuff dat?" She chirps, not really sounding interested. That is, until Kero creates an illusion on the floor. With a happy dance, she flies down to look at it. She loved how Daddy could make moving pictures.
"That is what first grade is like, sweetie," He tells her as she peers into the ball of light.
Inside, she sees children sitting and singing with the teacher, a silly little song about a fly and a flea in a flue. After that, they all sit down at desks and learn how to make things add up and subtract away. And then the teacher pulls out a book and reads it to them. And after that comes recess, and a huge playground full of fun things. But more than anything, she sees ow the little ones are laughing and playing in groups, and a single word leaps unbidden to her mind.

"That is why you might want to go to school, Luna. You can make many new friends to play with. You can learn a lot of things, and you can have fun while you do it. And when you are done at school every day, you can come home to me for a big hug and a cookie."

Luna looks up at Kero with a draconic grin. "Fwends... dat sownds wike fun... will we gets to pway awot?" she asks, thinking that some of what she saw looked interesting but nothing like play. And the idea of learning to read for herself is exceptionally intriguing. If there is anything Luna loves more than listening to stories it has yet to be discovered, unless it is swimming and fishing. But Daddy has been very busy lately helping Mommy with her new little brother. He doesn't have as much time to give her and she knows it. He's been spending a lot of time with her these last few days while they are camping in her cave, but already she can see how tired Mommy is, so she knows it won't last.

Kero nods at his daughter, his smile widening into a grin when he sees how happy she is. It's the first time she has seen her Daddy's teeth, actually. Long and sharp, and ivory. They are a nasty threat.
"Of course you will get to play a lot, Luna. As you learn, you will play with your friends, and they will play with you. And of course some of your friends can come home after school and play, if they so desire."
With that being said, Kero dispels the illusion, and gathers Luna into his arms, cuddling and nuzzling his daughter again.

Luna gently bats at his mouth with her paw, remembering a fairytale that Kero had read to her on the ship. "Daddy, wuff biggg teef you haff." she chirps teasingly.

Luna's eyes grow big. These are Daddy sized cookies, not Luna sized and she snatches at hers eagerly.
Tank you, Daddy.... mmmmm....." she nibbles on the edge, finding a chocolate chip and sighing with pleasure. "I wuv cookies. We shud giff Mommy one too..." she looks at him with a grin. "Buff Nimbu no goff teef.... he no gets one.... wight?"
Hopping down to the ground, she waits for him to join her. She is very much a lady in that she expects the men in her life to agree with her when she thinks of something sensible, besides, Daddy likes being with Mommy so why would he do anything less.

Laughing at his young lady's attitude towards life and men, and the best laid plans thereof, Kero scoops another cookie out of the Void, and holding it in one tentacle, and Luna having been kidnapped by another, he walks outside to Tes, who is sitting, cooing to Nimbus as she settles him for a nap.
"Tessie, I hereby bear unto you the pinnacle of my efforts as a cook. My crowning achievement shall you now enjoy. This recipe took me decades to perfect in its true masterpiece. Now, I bestow upon you my most glorious achievement..."
With that, He sets Luna down and hands Tesability the giant cookie.

While the two ladies in his life nibble on cookies, Kero scoops up his son and gently rocks him to sleep as he wanders about the area in front of Luna's small lair. He can see all sorts of areas for improvement and has to curb himself of his inclination to interfere. This was Luna's private sanctum after all. In time she would mold it to her own preferences. Still, wouldn't it be nice to have a sitting circle right there in the sun? And a small garden for herbs off to the side...

Before he gets too deep into things, he stops himself. This wasn't his sanctum, it was Luna's. In his Void, he had free reign, but out here, Luna had to make the decisions. If she wanted something, she could ask for it.
