The hunter suddenly dropped down out of the trees in front of them. "Hello again, girl," he said to Faith. "Jake." He nodded, then dove quickly at Faith.

"Ah!" Faith cried out and sent a pulse of air to try and push him away.

The man grabbed Faith's wrist after dodging the air. He yanked her roughly away from Jake and held a knife to her throat. "Don't attack me or I'll kill her," he said to Jake.
Jake snarled and dropped back a bit. "What do you want with her?"

"He's the hunter from before," Faith told him. "Let me go!"

"Shut up!" the man hissed, pressing the knife to her neck harder.
"What do you want with her?!" Jake demanded again.
"It's not her, it's your sister, Jake Medici," the man replied. "I just figured you might need some...motivation."

Faith whimpered in pain as she felt the knife digging into her neck.

"...what do you need with Hanyuu?" Jake asked, hearing Faith whimper in pain.
The man laughed. "That's better. Bring her to me," he ordered.
Jake clenched his fist, torn. He couldn't betray either one.

Faith looked at him, tears filling her eyes. She wanted to shake her head, but she would have cut herself.

"I won't betray Hanyuu," Jake said. "And I won't betray Faith either."
"Well, boy, better decide soon," the man said. "Any advice for him?" he asked Faith.

"You should go find her," Faith said. "Just Hope," she took a breath. "That we can work things out. But it won't work this way." she hoped he got her message.

Jake nodded slowly. He knew what she meant, to go get her sister instead of Hanyuu. "Very well," he said, and headed off. "Do not hurt her."
"I won't," the hunter said. "Much."

Faith whimpered some more.
Hope was sitting with SHane, looking around at where her knew home was.

"Well, girl, I never expected that you'd be the key to me getting my target," the man said. He played with her hair as he waited.
"Hope!" Jake cried. "Your sister needs you. No time to explain...just come on." He hoped she'd understand.
"Go," Shane said. "You'll be fine."
Jake ran past her and then picked up the sleeping Hanyuu. He brought her to Shane. "Take care of her. Don't let anyone get close to her..." Then he moved to Hope. "Let's go." He reached for her hand.

Hope nodded and took his hand. She ran after him to get her sister.

The man was still playing with her hair as they got closer.
Jake moved up first, leaving Hope to come up after him. "Sh-she's on her way," he said.
"Good boy," the man said.
