Dragon Sneeze liz_bliz_inc Half a mountain away, Zack opened the tunnel a bit further ahead of them then he normally would have, but he could feel the air was getting a bit thin for his liking and when he reached out for and explanation he felt...one more pair of feet walking along his tunnel? No...two more pairs, one was smaller than the other and he almost recognized something about the larger pair, the mass they were attached too seemed a bit larger than it should for the size of the feet. Either way, he had not noticed them on the way in and they had stayed well enough hidden that he had had to consciously look for them with his powers to find them; he doubted his captor would know of them. As soon as they began to approach the light of the opening the larger pair of feet seemed to simply vanish from his ability to sense them via the earth. That was it, he was sure one of them was Phantom. The question was, who was the other one and were they working together? Once actually outside the mountain Zack pointed as he continued to walk from the tunnel, "This way." Melody nodded and blinked as the raw sunlight assaulted her. "Ya better be thinkin of a way to slow down ya friends. I have a feelin they're pretty close." --- Danny was pretty sure he saw light up ahead. Walking in the dark was starting to get to him. Not being afraid of death was one thing, being afraid of being buried alive forever was much more tangible. And he was sure he felt another presence near him moments ago. And that it vanished. "I just took a short cut through a mountain," Zack said in slight exasperation, "I'm not sure how much more I can do for you in that regard." He looked around as they walked and the forest began to become more dense again. He shook his head a little and raised his hands from his sides until his hands were parallel horizontally with his shoulders. He clenched his fist and the muscles in his arms visibly tense like they were under great strain for a brief moment before he released his grip and his hands flew open. Behind Melody and Zack, vines and brambles grew from the earth and the already present trees grew more dense as their branches grew out and interwove. This happened in a line that went off so far in each direction that Melody could not see the ends on either side. When his hands fell back to his sides, a wall of and plant fiber several stories tall and more than a mile in either direction rustled in the wind. "Satisfied?" he said with a raised eyebrow. "Though if a mountain didn't slow them down I doubt my little great wall of wood will either." After that Zack stopped talking and resumed walking in the direction of their destination. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As soon as Danny reached the exit of the tunnel a unseen force threw him against the rock face and held him there, his feet dangling a short distance from the ground. Though he could not see his assailant it was obviously a very strong hand that held him by his throat and a firm palm pressed against his chest over his heart. And though he could not be seen, he could be heard; his voice was as cold and hard as stone, almost methodical robotic in its sentence structure, though the tone was completely human. "Who are you? I have never seen you before. What is your purpose for following those two? What is your intention if you catch up to them?" The hand around Danny's throat loosened enough for him to talk. "You have 45 seconds to to say what I want to hear."

Dragon Sneeze liz_bliz_inc "I too doubt his chances. When I spoke with Mr. Snyder I saw nothing but a puppet master and a snake, I do not think he will be out-guiled so easily. I however put my chips on his greed and power-thirst taking a back seat to his self preservation, he knows were he stands with me and what the consequences are if he missteps." Warpath seemed to notice Chamberlain's defensive positioning more than Omen did. "Her taste in men hasn't changed, gallant and foolish," she almost snorted. "Hush," said Omen harshly. He turned his head back to Chamberlain as he said, "There is no need to offend our host, even if he seems to not trust my honesty. I do assure you that our intent is not to harm her. Were that the case talking would not be part of the plan. "You are correct though," Omen said as he seated himself. "Your relationship with her is your private affair, you need not discuss it if you do not feel the need. I did however sense something unsaid in your opinion of your friend's situation with Mr. Synder. Do you also have plans for how you would deal with this particularly large, barbed thorn in the paw of lions of the world?" Taking a more relaxed stance Chamberlain lowered his blade slightly. "I plan to build a force to strike against Snyder's if need be. I'd prefer not to resort to violence if I can. It will be more of a preventative measure. And strictly underground, though I believe that Snyder has a precognitive or remote viewer under his employ." "A precog you say?" Omen said as he scratched his grizzled beard. "That is probably true. When I made position known to him he seemed more surprised that I was there when I was there rather than that I was there. You see, precogs and tracers have always had a hard time with me. Because of how often I bend space, and thus time, they have a very difficult time of ever really knowing when or where I am. Precogs may know I am coming, but they could be off by a day or a month as to when I will actually come knocking. Even the best tracers have often been off by miles." He smiled then and said, "The last precog I met told me I was a year early." He looked as though here were about to continue, but there was a loud crash upstairs and the sound of stumbling, uneven footsteps. "OMEN!!!" Tara's ragged shout seemed to nearly shake the light fixtures. Rage was the only emotion that came to mind. Warpath, who had seemed alert but relax until this point now sat as rigid as a plank of wood and looked ready to fight. Every muscle in he body seemed to be tensed, her hair and on end and her pupils had dilated dramatically. "That much hmm?" Omen mused. "The animosity is palpable," She said, and it seemed she meant she could literally smell and taste Tara's anger. "She's so violent right now I can feel the heat in her veins." There again was the sound of of Tara making awkward steps as she thumped down the stairs. Finally she came from around the frame of the stairs. Though her arm was still discolored down its entire length and looked mostly useless almost all the lacerations were gone and there was no bleeding. Besides that he hair was a mess of matted, sweat soaked locks and overall she still looked like s**t. She steady herself on the banner with her good arm. "How..... dare you. Get.Out...Now!" She commanded with force denying her weakened state. Even though she had lowered her voice and her toned seemed controlled her voice wavered with such rage it seemed it make sake her body apart long before he injuries would.

Ah don't plan on havin a chat with your friends." She directed them down a path toward the small town ahead. They would be there in minutes. They reached the edge of the town shortly. It was indeed that, a very small group of farm steads could be seen past the town and the forest has started to reclaim the plots in the years since the town had been abandoned and forgotten. There was a paved street along which the shops were arranged but weeds and disuse were all that were present. "My home was one of the farms," Zack said as they walked through what had passed for the main street. Not a soul was to bee seen, not a animal either; only plants overran this area, no other part of nature had moved to overtake the area. Once they reached the farm in question there was an immediate difference. No wild plants had regrown on the property at all. The only odd flora was visible, and obviously so, once they had moved to the back of the house. There was a grove of small trees arranged in a very unorganized mass there. They were strange trees indeed. All manner of leaf and flower seemed to grow from their many, almost willow like branches, they were like nothing Melody, nor almost anyone else other than Zack had seen and in their unique beauty there was a eeriness to them that Melody would not have been able to shake. Zack moved through the grove, small objects rustled at his feet as he disturbed them on his passage through. He seemed to notice them, but not because he looked, but because he knew they where they. If she stopped to look, Melody would have seen that many of the item were both proper and makeshift weapons and that some of the branches were not what they initially seemed. Zack however moved beyond and knelt beneath a large weeping willing that looked like it had been there for ages. There he sat before to head sones that looked as though they had been carved by hand, and that stood before to small raised mounds of earth. He sat there and said nothing, only stared at the stones.

"You have 45 seconds to to say what I want to hear." Melody shrugged. "As long as I can pass ya off to my new contact it won't matter. Ah don't plan on havin a chat with your friends." She directed them down a path toward the small town ahead. They would be there in minutes. --- Ricky was barely breathing heavily on top of the small cliff. He could see the two make thier way toward town, but there wasn't much he could do quickly. Hoping his radio could make it through the stone below, he contacted Reaper. "Hey, I have a line of sight on the target. I'll stay up here until you make contact." --- Danny was only slightly surprised to be hanging by seemingly nothing. Remembering Victor's training he made sure to not allude to his capabilities. Diffuse the situation, always talk it out before throwing fists. Though he'd totally seen Vic doing exactly the opposite. "Whoa man. First I'd like you to calm down and put me down. Taking your hands off would be nice too." "I am always calm. 35 Seconds," the voice said impatiently. "If you want to be put down explain yourself. I will know if you are lying." Danny sighed. "I'm sure you're very scary, with all your counting and s**t, but this isn't how civilized people talk. You know, a little 'Hi how you doin?' or 'How's the weather?'" There was no hint of fear in his voice and his dark eyes squinted as he tried to search for at least and outline of his attacker. "10," the voice said. He obviously was not having any of Danny's games. There was no malice or frustration in the voice. The only way to describe it would be duty, as if there was a job to be done and he was doing it. "I'd rather not have to remove a child's heart and throat but I will if you are one of Eden's pawns. Once more, 10 seconds."

liz_bliz_inc Dragon Sneeze liz_bliz_inc Dragon Sneeze liz_bliz_inc Half a mountain away, Zack opened the tunnel a bit further ahead of them then he normally would have, but he could feel the air was getting a bit thin for his liking and when he reached out for and explanation he felt...one more pair of feet walking along his tunnel? I have a feelin they're pretty close." "I just took a short cut through a mountain," Zack said in slight exasperation, "I'm not sure how much more I can do for you in that regard." He looked around as they walked and the forest began to become more dense again. "Though if a mountain didn't slow them down I doubt my little great wall of wood will either." After that Zack stopped talking and resumed walking in the direction of their destination Melody shrugged. "As long as I can pass ya off to my new contact it won't matter. Ah don't plan on havin a chat with your friends." She directed them down a path toward the small town ahead. They would be there in minutes. Melody folded her arms and sighed. She'd been with this kid too long. She actually had a small thought pop into her head. Cut him loose. She shook her head. There's no way she could let him go and ever expect to get another job again. Reputation took years to build and seconds to destroy. She pulled out her cell and looked at it again. The pick up team will be there in ten minutes. None too soon. "Won't be too long now. I hope ya made yur peace."

Maybe bitten I think, I was underwater and the shark was pretty big..." He shook his head. Revealing too much AND rambling. Geeze, great heroing there. "Anyway, I don't know who this Eden is. I don't know you, or that girl and I only know that Zack guy from what I was told."

Dragon Sneeze liz_bliz_inc Dragon Sneeze liz_bliz_inc "I too doubt his chances. Stepping over to Tara, Chamberlain offered his arm to help support her. No matter the situation it meant a great deal to him to remain a gentleman. "I believe they were just leaving. Correct?" he directed at Omen. "Yes, I believe we were," Omen said as he stood calmly and readjusted his jacket. "Good to see you are recovering as quickly as ever. I am afraid Vector's arm won't be of much use to him for much longer that it will take you to be in full health again." He made his way to the front door, Warpath however did not move as she continued to stare at Tara, her white knuckle grip on the chair handles beginning to crack the wood. "Warpath," Omen said calmly. After a few seconds without a response he sighed and said, "Ayasha!" With a succession of rapid blinking Warpath un-tensed and let out a long breath as she raised from the chair. Tara's glare followed Omen the entire time. He paused before exiting and said, "I have found that precogs are much like psychics, they only need a correctly chosen method to block them, though often with them it is less of a who and more of how you conduct yourself. Decentralize your information and try to have others that you believe will make similar decisions make them in your place if you feel you are being scryed. Other than that if you have the good fortune to find a mutant who can manipulate probability or 'luck' and keep them near, no precog can read you, things will always change in your favor in ways they cannot predict." He looked around one last time before his eyes settled on Chamberlain and he smiled as he said, "Just some friendly advice to keep you out of trouble until this Mr. Snyder inevitably earns my scorn and this all ends." Then he left, and no sooner was he and Warpath a few feet from the house, still visible from the large window panes of the shop, did they stretch, distort and then disappear in a blip, like the single of and old TV being turned off.
