No, they are Caanites from the World of Darkness Game set. They don't even call themselves Vampires. And they have different 'breeds' as well. Malkavian, La Sombra, Toriador, Gengral, Nasferatu ect... A different kind of Vampire than KB.

Faustina Jaeger Lavelle Esculentus Well... Maybe not, seeing as she is Roen's offspring. The Princess of Darkness! Daria's the cannibal, not Fausti ;D Thats right. My bad. Sorry... Even so, Daria is Roen's... servant? Thus his 'property' so, she might be safe. sweatdrop

Cainites are vampires, and do in fact call themselves vampires quite often. It's done in the introductory story of the rulebook, in Bloodlines, and in the introduction/footnotes of Aristotle DeLaurent and Beckett in the Book of Nod. Which I mostly know because I was just re-reading both (Book of Nod being my favorite flavor sourcebook).
I think what you mean is that they prefer to call themselves "Kindred" when they're among their own kind. It's the Camarilla's term for fellow vampires, or for the race as a whole. But they do reference themselves as vampires, I don't think there's anything against it. Kindred is just the most popular term the vampires use to reference themselves. Cainite is, I think, more of a Sabbat term as well, since the Camarilla as an organization supposedly denies the existence of Cain.
But yeah, entirely different from what KB plays, who doesn't even like WoD to begin with.

KB isn't a vampire.
KB eats vampires.

It's just the word some vampires use to refer to themselves as. The same with Kindred. They're just words. But they're basically vampires. Though, I'll concede, they're vampires from different fictional worlds.

Yes, prefer. It must just the DeSeers and their affiliates that do not call themselves Vampires. Some actually get kind of offended by the term. Or at least they have in times past. They usually call themselves Caanites, sometimes Kindred. It has been a while since I have interacted with any of them.
But thank for the info!

Yeah, sorry for the delay. One of my classmates came in sick yesterday and I think I caught what the b*****d had. Been feeling more and more progressively s**t.
God, my body has not liked me these past few months.
I'll see if I feel better after the meds tonight or tomorrow. Can't even work enough energy to post for the wimmenz.

The DeSeers is one roleplaying group I don't want to mess with. They're too much into the traditional mindset that once plagued Commerce.

Oh, you mean the DeSeers specifically. I thought you meant vampires from WoD on the whole.
I was like "Wait, what?" because I stayed up last night thumbing through the rulebook and I remember the "in character" flavor text had them calling themselves vampires on occasion.
I have no idea about the DeSeers's policies on that. I suppose some Kindred might take offense over it, if they're Sabbat or Independent and view themselves more as being the children of Cain ("Cainite"; of Caine) than being bloodsucking parasites or something. Or they just don't like the stereotype that mortals attach to it.

My guess is that the DeSeers don't like to use the term "vampire" on Gaia, specifically, because they reside primarily in the public Commerce threads and they don't want to be associated with all the other kinds of vampires--thus, they use Kindred and the other sects to indicate their specific "kind"/ideology of vampire.

No no, I was only referring to the DeSeers.
But hey, the information was useful anyway. I do love to learn.
As for the Deseers, I think it might be they just don't like the stereotype that mortals attach to it.

Vampire is a kine term as far as most vampires are concerned. If anything, White Wolf makes it quite clear (via the title of the game) what you're playing as. The same goes for Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Werewolves don't call themselves werewolves. They call themselves Garou.
