Kilik nodded. "Alright then, that's fine by me!" He ran his thumb over his nose then knelt down next to his Elekid. "You're up to it right?" The trainer looked at the Skiploom and raised an eyebrow, "After all. It's a lot bigger than you are." Now, it wasn't bigger by a lot, but it was still bigger.
Elekid looked horrified that his trainer would even think he wasn't up to the challenge. The bigger they were, the harder they fell, right? "Ele!" the plug slammed his fists together and a surprising amount of electricity expelled from them.
"Okay, Elekid!" Kilik stood back up and jumped a foot or two back. "Don't waste your energy by showing off, though! Show them what a real Pokemon can do with your Shock Wave!" Nodding, Elekid clenched his fists tightly. Electricity began to burst around his plug. Closing his eyes tightly, the Pokemon let out a cry and unleashed his Shock Wave, aimed dead on for Skiploom. Kilik smirked. This was over before it started.

Before the Bug Catcher even knew it the first hit of the battle had happened. "Gah Skiploom! Shake it off and use you Stun Spore!" He cried. The small flower pokemon shook off the attack and with a determined look on its face it aimed its head at Elekid and a poof of Stun Spore came out of the flower. "Great job Skiploom!" The Bug Catcher cheered clearly happy with his pokemon, the Skiploom just looked over and gave his trainer a big smile. Honestly neither of them knew if the attack had even hit, it didn't look like they cared to much anyway.
On the side lines Robin watched the battle with wide eyes. Sure she had watched battles on tv but it was much better to watch them live she decided. "Go Kilik you can beat that flower!" She cheered. At her side Luffy's eyes were also wide as he saw the cool plug shoot electricity at its opponent. The strange magic flower he had rubbed his face in. In return the flower shot out some cool looking sparkley stuff that Luffy just wanted to run around in. Holding himself back though Luffy decided to watch the battle instead, it wasn't good to interfere with a battle between men. Even if they were pokemon and one of them had a plug on its head while the other had a flower on its head. Nodding to himself as if it all made perfect sense, which it did in his crazy little mind, he decided to cheer along with Robin.

Little Guy nodded, finishing his meal as fast as he could. After chirping his appreciation happily towards the couple, he made for a quick glide out the door towards the forest. Almost immediately, he spotted a break in the canopy where a cloud of dust seemed to hover violently. Seeing it so close to the forest's exit gave Little Guy suspicion for the worst. Readying to Teleport, he slowed his pace to glide along-side Ulani, hoping that she'd get the idea of what they were going to do.
--
As soon as the battle fired up, Ky quickly stood up to make his way out of the sand/ice/toxin storm. Luckily enough, the Poison Stings were well-aimed, but it didn't keep the stray shards of ice and sand from cutting Ky's legs, arms, and face as he approached M.A. almost half-blinded.
"Looks like Crenu has this under control," Ky coughed optimistically, taking a seat by M.A.'s heels to rest as he rubbed his various cuts and scratches. Though he couldn't see very well at all, he could catch glimpses of Crenu's always-impressive battle plan. It never really made sense to Ky when Crenu mentioned how lackluster his training abilities were. Crenu's perception of the battlefield was always superb, and the handling of his Pokemon's position was always so creative as well as effective.
Even though he had the urge to cheer M.A.'s Phanpy on, Ky couldn't help but feel the same for Crenu. As a matter of fact, it felt almost as if nothing ever came between them, like they were back together again, like they were friends again. Whether or not Crenu held the same views as before didn't faze Ky at all. He simply sat there with a grin on his face, watching with brotherly eyes as Crenu fought, while the thought of Little Guy returning stayed in the back of his mind.

Kilik grimaced at the idea of his own Pokemon becoming Paralyzed and being slowed down because of it. "There's no way I'll let that happen. Elekid, roll to the side to dodge the Stun Spore!" The trainer clenched his fists and dug his heel a bit into the dirt. Do a barrel roll! he thought with a light chuckle to himself. "With enough luck," he called over at Robin, "I won't have to make a pit-stop at the Pokemon Center in..." Kilik called upon his very limited knowledge of this area of Johto. What was the town's name? It was where he first met Kasiya and her Larvitar. "Cherrygrove!" he laughed.
To the best of his ability, Elekid listened to his trainer and managed to roll out of the way just in time. Despite his size (or could it be because of?), Elekid was quite agile. He may have only been a younger Pokemon, but he could move quicker than most. "Ele!" he called happily, throwing his fists into the air. When he heard his trainer call for a Quick Attack, the Pokemon nodded, running forward. He aimed as best his little eyes could.

Ulani gave her thanks in form of a little ditty before serenely floating after Little Guy. How a little good food in the belly made one so cheerful!
The perfect cheer didn't last long, however, as the blithe little Swablu saw a little mushroom top of swirling sand ahead that certainly didn't look natural. . . What could be going on? Was M.A. in there? Daemyn? Jeez, if that mutt couldn't even manage to take care of their trainer while she was away (who cared how tired he was!) she wasn't gonna be happy about it!
It took a while for her to realize that Little Guy had swung by along-side Ulani, and when she looked into his expectant eyes, she realized what the game plan was. A little sigh trebled out of her throat; oh man, she wasn't going to enjoy this! Nevertheless, it'd be the quickest way there, and time was of the essence and all (which made her guilty that she'd stopped by that old couple's house and ate). Another breath, and her cottony wing brushed Little Guy's -- without further ado, the cyclone of matter, time, and feathers began.
A breath's moment of gut-wrenching noxiousness ended as the two birds poofed above the stormy scene. "Swaaaaa?" she called out vainly over the rage of the whirling sand and ice. Taking a breath of clean air, she dipped into the storm, feeling the winds try to toss her away as if she wasn't more than a ball of fluff (which she was, in all technicality) but scanning ferociously nevertheless. A head, a head. . . Ah! A head! On closer inspection, she might've found it odd that that head was blonde and did not have long hair, but at the moment, her vision could've mistaken a statue of a Slowpoke for Mary-Anne. Gratefully, she dove onto that head, nestling her feathers about it in her slight confusion.
It occured to her, however, that M.A.'s hair certainly did not feel like this. . .
Mary-Anne, meanwhile, simply sat where she was. "So it is Crenu," she said softly, her words only heard by the wind. Hair whipped in her face, making her realize with a note of foolishness that her hair tie must've been lost some time ago.
Tora's wild spin was coming to an end. While she was slowing down and rolling towards M.A., the Phanpy broke out of her ball and trotted over, looking at the two humans curiously. The girl realized, with a little smile, that she was checking up on them. "We're fine, girl!" she said loudly, ducking her head as a modest shard of ice went flying their way. "Never better, really!"
Meanwhile, Daemyn was still nestled in her arms, wearily watching the few ghosts left as best he could through the storm. Whoever was fighting them was sure doing one hell of a job.

"Alright you two, that's enough! Larvitar, let's take 'em out with rock slide!" Ariados stopped rotating as the venomous needles came to a stop. She collapsed a little, but held strong. Poliwag, on the other hand, did not fare so well. He was burned badly, and even his damn skin could not fight off the ghostly flame. Breathing heavily, Poliwag collapsed. Finally down for the count, Shiro was able to return him to his ball. All the while, Larvitar had jumped forward and taken aim at the tree tops. He dug his claw like hands into the earth and shoveled large chunks of earth and rock up into the air. As they ascended, they collided with each other and smaller fragments of rock began to rain down. Shiro had just managed to dodge a rather large rock when he felt something land on his head and make itself comfortable. "Wh-what the hell!?" He reached for it and felt a soft cottony substance. Whatever it was, it was no ghost, so Shiro eased up his hand to a gentler rubbing motion, trying to coax it out of hiding. Rocks fell upon trees and cracked branches and slamming ghosts to the ground.

Little Guy watched as Ulani faded into the storm, pondering whether or not he should join in as well. He had yet to locate Ky, but with all the debree flying about above the treetops, it was hard to believe it could be any harder to search for Ky down below.
So, without any more delay, Little Guy dove straight down, careful to mind the winds tossing him about. As he neared the center though, suddenly he found a huge upheaval of rocks flying in his general direction. Unable to stop and dodge, Little Guy released a quick but strong Night Shade into the threatening barrage like a guiding snake, shattering the rocks until a path broke ahead that he could dive through.
Even among the ruckus, Little Guy managed to spot Ulani right below him on the top of some trainer's head. With a quick scan of the area, he found the Pokemon responsible and landed softly nearby. Despite the immediate clues around him, he didn't have the time to figure out the who's and the why's. Off in the storm, the remaining ghosts seemed to be eying him as an extra intruder. Not wanting them to have an edge in this fight, another black shade enveloped the tiny bird's body, ready to be released towards the first ghost who dared to show initiative.
Ky, meanwhile, stood up again after witnessing the shower of rocks. He was far enough away at this point, but it seemed that the storm was getting worse by the minute. "I hope Crenu gets this done with; this is getting dangerous!" Ky yelled through the storm to M.A. "Well, at least Little Guy's not in there..." he mumbled as an afterthought.

"Yeah," she hollered back lamely, feeling a bit numb and disoriented from the storm. Funny how one always strayed off to irrelevant thoughts at the oddest time. At the moment, Mary-Anne was wondering what Michael would say if he knew she was not far from the center of a miniature sandstorm with ghosts all around thanks to a mission to save a Tortodile. Come to think of it, she hadn't thought of him for a while, now. . . maybe the homesickness was fading fast? Maybe she was growing more independent? Ah, who knew. In any case, she figured, Michael was probably at home right now, their mum making one hell of a dinner -- lasagna, maybe?
Shaking off the involuntary detour of thoughts, M.A. hopped onto her feet and moved away from the sandstorm as well after getting the idea that sitting there with rocks and tree branches falling all over the place wasn't so smart. Besides that, her skin was beginning to chafe; how in the world was Crenu faring? she thought immediately, worry nudging its way into her mind. No matter what had happened, she couldn't not feel concern. . . She was about to feel concerned for the injured ghosts, too, but was alleviated of that when they floated up from their rocky tombs and disappeared promptly.
Ulani cooed pleasantly as she was giving her little massage, laughing here and there as Crenu touched her ticklish spots. But that hand was far bigger than M.A.'s! Friendly, though, so she didn't feel too alarmed. Popping her head down over Crenu, she took a long stare before realizing with some shock who this was. Why, this was Ky's friend who had left! "Bluuu~?"

"A Swablu!? Hmm, a Swablu, and a Phanphy...an someone calling my name. Now those odds are too great to ignore..." As his mind drifted from the battle at hand, he got back into the game when he saw Ariados fly back into a tree. This sand was vicious, and it couldn't let the little Swablu get hurt. He gently picked her up tucked her into his coat. The sand was getting to him now, he was barely able to stand it any more. Larvitar continued his assult, despite the growing burn on his body, rocks sailing through the air. As one of the rocks broke into a smaller fragment, it sailed directly in Shiro's direction. He looked up and was about to dodge, but realized instantly that he couldn't. With the bird tucked away in his coat, he couldn't risk crushing her, or hurting her by risky maneuvers. He braced himself, closing his eyes and clenching his teeth. After what seemed like an eternity, but was really only about a second, he felt a shard pain above one of his eyes as the rock hit him square on, making a deep gash. Shiro could feel the warm blood trickle down his face, but that didn't matter now. He staggered a bit, then fell back, his vision was getting blurred, and as he looked to his side, he could see Ariados get hit from above by another Shadow Ball. She too was down for the count, and Shiro used all his reserve power to call her back. Larvitar rushed to his side as the lone Gengar and a handful of Haunter's hovered about. Shiro grinned as he tried to sit up, but fell back. The sudden blunt force to his head as well as the constant sandstorm rippign away at him was too much. As the sandstorm started to die out rapidly, Shiro lost consciousness.

Assuming the Gengar was the ghost-party's leader, Little Guy released the Night Shade like a long black spear straight at the powerful ghost. Not waiting to see if the attack hit, the Natu quickly started to generate another. But before he could get the energy to surround him again, he was startled when he felt the trainer's body hit the forest floor. Little Guy turned quickly to gauge the trainer's condition. As soon as he recognized the trainer's face, he immediately became worried. This was Ky's friend.
As soon as the sand wall fell, Ky's heart plummeted. Not only had the fight ended so suddenly, but Crenu lay unconscious in the middle of it all. "Crenu!" Ky called as he burst with a sprint into the clearing. To his surprise, he saw Little Guy nearby. "Little Guy! Fend off the ghosts!" Ky ordered blindly as he ran. Landing painfully on his knees, Ky grabbed Crenu by the shoulders and shook lightly, hoping it was just a dizzy spell. As he did so, he felt a bit of blood land on his arm and soon found its origin. Eyes wide but still avoiding panic, Ky stripped off his backpack and dug immediately for his first-aid kit. Though he spilled a great deal of the bandages onto the floor, he managed to keep the cotton balls from getting dirty and began carefully cleaning the wound while applying pressure to prevent the blood flowing out.
Meanwhile, Little Guy had reacquired his target, hoping that his last attack had done some damage. Soon a black cloak of energy surrounded him, ready to fire again.
"Zubat, go!" came a sudden voice from behind M.A. Having registered the situation, Ray came running into the clearing as well, staring fearfully but confidently into the opposing ghosts eyes. "Use Bite!" he ordered. Though winded from the previous battle, Ray's Zubat had plenty of energy left to issue out attacks. Whether that would be enough would remain to be seen.

Crenu continued to lay motionless on the battle field as the gang of ghost pokemon hovered about. Gengar had been blindsided by a dark spear and was sent hurtling backwards. No longer grinning, the Gengar looked angry. And if that wasn't enough, He soon had a Zubat darting towards him. The Gengar grinned once more as he began to form a dark sphere of energy. The other ghosts laughed, going around in circles as the Zubat closed in with it's fangs ready to sink in. But as the Gengar was about to attack, he suddenly lost the energy ball and sank a little, wincing as a sharp pain coursed through his body. Larvitar had sunk his own teeth into Gengar's back, and before Gengar knew it the Zubat had latched onto his face. The haunter laughed louder and spun faster, each of them summoning rings of blue flames.

Mary-Anne's thinking cleared with the storm, and as visibility improved, it seemed as if the next few moments occurred in slow motion in her mind. First, a tall figure with an unusually puffy chest tumbled backwards, hitting the forest floor with a sickening thud. As the wind whipping around the sand and rocks died away to an everyday breeze, she could finally see that it /was/ Crenu after all. . . As she ran to Crenu and Ky, her eyes absorbed the scene subconsciously as if it were a sponge slowly sucking up a puddle: there was a still, bleeding young man, a Larvitar standing guard, Little Guy attacking, and a suspicious dingy white cotton swab sticking out of that jacket.
Around her, the scene of devastation was great. What used to be an unobtrusive, quiet forest clearing had changed into a broken, dead-looking place. All the green and cool had turned into brown and black; sand coated the immediate area with some still falling downwards like a sprinkle of rain; dead tree branches hung haphazardly on their equally dead bodies; ice shards were sticking out from every which place like daggers, making fatal wounds in the earth. Now that the foliage above had been cleared away by the battle, one could see that a gray, starless evening sky had set. And the ghastly sight of the few remaining ghosts only added to the chilly, dreary tone of it all.
Mary-Anne watched Ky tend to Crenu uselessly and with horror; from up close, his limp body was gruesome. The sandstorm had whipped his clothes and tattered it, numberless scratches decorated the skin that had been revealed in the battle, and then there was that awful gash on his forehead, blood spilling. . . The terrible stillness of it all frightened her, it was too real, not at all like a movie of which she was a content third-person party watching. And it had to be that in such a crucial time, her head was entirely blank all together! She started to berate herself mentally, but that wouldn't do Crenu any good either. . .
After a moment of recollecting herself, she kneeled beside Ky as well, pulling out some gauze wrap and quickly closing the wound immediately after Ky had cleaned it up. Her fingers trembled a little less when she saw the unconscious boy breathe; as the shock faded away, she found herself more and more composed and certain. "Daemyn!" she called, her voice surprisingly steady. "Muster in one Roar for me, on the double, and get rid of as many ghosts as you can!"
The Houndour stood up, having had at least an hour now since his battle to rest. Sure, he could still feel fatigue, but it wasn't enough to keep him down now! His dark eyes glared threats to the six or seven ghosts remaining. Sucking in air, he pushed out twice as much in a vicious, snarling boom of a sound.

Ky's breathing quickened as he worked hard to help M.A. with the bandages. Ky couldn't tell whether or not the bleeding was under control. All he knew was that they needed to get Crenu to a hospital, possibly even a PokeCenter if the damage wasn't too bad. The bleeding was not alarming, but basic first aid could only do so much.
Ky was relieved when he heard M.A.'s command. Of all possible moves, that was the smartest choice by far. Being outnumbered and beaten already, he wasn't sure how effective it would be, but there was no sense in fighting back if it only proved to entertain these ghosts. "Everyone, focus on dodging their attacks if they attack you. Otherwise, guard us while we get out of here," Ky commanded loudly.
Still surrounded by black energy, Little Guy held his Night Shade to guard, eventually sending bits of it to quickly extinguish the ghost's fireballs.
"You heard him," Ray called to his Zubat. "But give them a Supersonic just in case." Still latched onto the Gengar's face, the Zubat gave an ear-piercing screech, making sure to focus it towards the approaching ghosts and not his nearby comrades.
"M.A., help me carry him," Ky said once the bandage was securely fastened. With a good deal of effort, Ky grunted as he swung Crenu's right arm around his neck, waiting for M.A. to get in position. Luckily for them, the mess that was once a forest happened to provide a clear hole showing them the exit. Ky could only hope that the ghosts had the heart to stop their 'fun' so M.A. and him could have the energy to get to safety.

If the Roar hadn't at least worked to keep the ghosts at bay, the Supersonic sure jumbled their senses enough to leave them dazed and confused long enough to give all our little group time to skip town. M.A. wasn't sure what worked and if it worked at all, so distracted was she with jostling Crenu's weight onto her own. It was a bit awkward with her gangly height, but eventually she got the whole balance thing worked out and began to stumble towards the exit, the twins escorting them by walking backwards behind them. There were a few skirmishes left, but Daemyn, Tora, Ray's Zubat, and Little Guy were more than enough to take on the perplexed ghosts and send them packing.
Ulani took the opportunity to squirm out of Crenu's jacket, floating idly in the air and ruffling her feathers. "Wabluuu~" she sing-songed upon seeing M.A. -- but her trainer's grave face wiped the bird's hypothetical grin off immediately. Daemyn, having caught back up by then, gave her a menacing glare that near anyone could read: "Where the /hell/ were you all this time?" A glance back at Little Guy then returned to Ulani read: "/He/ fought, while you /hid/?"
The Swablu gave an indignant little twirp and floated along stealthily for a while, denied guilt weighing her spirits down. Well, it wasn't her fault! I mean, she just saw Ky's friend, and then he tucked her away from the bad wind, and then now they were here where they were, all banged up and all. How could she have known? Seriously, jeez. . . it wasn't like it was blaringly apparent there were phantoms floating around in the midst of some crazy sand storm, you know. She wasn't /trying/ to hide or anything or run away. But upon looking down at the state of everyone, Ulani could only feel more and more down; maybe if only she had done something (although in all technicality, her moves wouldn't even had hit the ghosts), they wouldn't be so much in need of medical help and everything, especially that nice guy who had helped her. . .
BUT WAIT, THERE WAS SOMETHING! The old couple's house! Yes, they could go there, it was nearby! But oh no, M.A. and Ky were heading the wrong way, that was no good, that PokeCenter was a long ways away from where they stood and they were passing that Daycare Center! Ulani nose-dived down until she hovered just a little over M.A's shoulder (and Crenu's arm) before tugging her worn, somewhat tattered collar in the direction they should go in. M.A., exhausted and exasperated by the bird's antics, murmured, "It's not time to play right now. . . we've gotta get some help for Crenu."
The nudges became more and more persistent, almost desperate, causing the girl nearly to fall over sometimes from half-carrying Crenu and dealing with Ulani and her own tiredness. Mary-Anne was close to snapping when she happened to glance Ulani's direction and saw that small house in the not-too-distant distance, maybe 500 yards away or so. "Oh. . . ! Is that where you wanted us to go?" A nod affirmed it. "Ah. . . Alright. Ky, maybe we could get some help there, or at least help getting Crenu to Goldenrod. And 'Lani, I'm sorry for not listening," she said, adding the last bit apologetically. The Swablu merely curtseyed and chirped her forgiveness away.
"Oh! That place's the Daycare!" Neil said suddenly, pointing a small index finger towards the vague outline of a house. "I forgot it was here for a second. . . But there's really nice people there, and they'll definitely help out someway." Without another word, he sprinted ahead, nearly tripping once or twice. About five minutes later, he brought out the elderly Daycare Man and some random trainer who had been picking up his Pokemon. "G'day, young'ins!" he said with amazing volume and cheer, panting a little bit from their run to meet them half-way. With strength that matched his voice and came unexpectedly, he released M.A. and Ky from their loads and hooked his arms under Crenu's arms while the other trainer grabbed his legs and carried him swiftly to the house.

Ky couldn't have been any more relieved when both the old man and the trainer took Crenu off their hands. Ky wasn't used to carrying heavy loads, not to mention that his body was already quite winded and worn with all of the stress they'd been through. An equally sore Little Guy soon perched on Ky's free right shoulder, nudging Ky's neck affectionately with his beak. In return, Ky brought his hand up to scratch under Little Guy's favorite feathers. "He'll be all right, I hope," Ky said quietly, his eyes now heavy with fatigue.
"You guys are in luck," said the random trainer with a small grunt and a slight smile. "My girlfriend just happens to be one of the main nurses here in Goldenrod. Once we get your friend here inside, I'll give her a quick call so she can come help. She'll know enough to keep him in good shape just in case he needs to go to a hospital."
Ky looked up with a grin, happy to hear such a kind offer. Things were looking good and Ky couldn't really ask for more.
"By the way, you might want to recall this guy's Larvitar. He looks beyond his limits, if you know what I mean," the trainer pointed with a tilt of his head.
Ky looked down and agreed. Just as loyal as ever, Crenu's Larvitar walked nearby, glancing back and forth with troubled eyes as his friend was carried by these strangers. When Ky walked up to pluck the Pokemon's ball from Crenu's belt though, the Larvitar poked Ky's leg insistently, shaking his head once Ky noticed. With an understanding smile, Ky drew back, leaving the Larvitar to walk along-side.
"Well, I can see where this guy gets his strength then," the trainer added, a bit randomly.
Meanwhile, as the daycare center approached slowly but surely, Ray seemed to be in a very solemn mood, walking with his head down near the old man. Finally, as if he had been holding it in this whole time, he spoke up. "Have you guys seen my Totodile by chance?" he asked the old man expectantly.
