nono, you go to LIMBO if you're not baptized. And suicidal, unless you were sane at the time, then you end up in hell.

...Limbo?

There is only Heaven and Hell (for now). No inbetween. If you're saved, you are automatically baptized in the Holy Spirit. It is a commandment to be baptized in water, but not a requirement to get to Heaven.

And I agree, Tryan, I don't believe they were saved either, so yeah, they'd be in Hell, as sad as that is.

I disagree... not as for heaven and hell only being places. But i disagree with teh "automatically baptized in the Holy Spirit" and also your "but not a requirement to get to heaven." I believe that baptism is part of being born again.. and you can't be born again with out it.. but then too; I also believe in teh baptism of the holy ghost... that is evidenced with the speaking in tongues as the spirit gives you the utterance just like they did back in teh first church.. but then again, I am apostolic pentecostal. I know Purple Panther would be able to see what i'm saying because those beliefs are the foundation of pretty much all of pentecostal churches and apostolic specifically.

I'm not gonna get into nitpicking or arguing.. just stating that I disagree....

Hey, it's fine if you disagree. I won't argue with it, but it never states in the Word that is required to getting into Heaven.

I'll agree to disagree on those as well. I'm very much of the belief that I don't know God's plan, don't know and can't possibly understand His order, and trust that the bible's got it right, which I believe it does as far as it humanly can, and a bit further even as it was inspired by God and written out by His chosen writers and all that. But I can agree fully with no one in here, I think, which makes sense, as most people in here have differences in beliefs...mainly though, it's about following Jesus and believing in the bible so we've got that much unity and a bit of differences to keep things interesting.

I never thought about your name like that. That's amusing. Or it could be like...ter, like earth, and then rose. Roses grow in the ground, in the earth, as it is. And then you've got the earth is kinda round. well, xi in roman numerals is 11. 1-1=0 which is round. Like the earth. And all....

The sad part is, from now on, that's how I'll remember how to spell your name.

I must be REALLY tired. I was looking at the forum page and I read, "Water balloons -- A requirement?"

So for a moment I was puzzled and wondered where in the bible it says you need water balloons to be Christian.

I speant three minutes going over in my mind the use of water balloons in Christianity and I couldn't think of anything particularly useful.

So I read it again.

OH! BAPTISM! Makes much more sense.

I'm a sheep apparently.

Quote:
people feel the need to be guided by someone who cannot betray them.. hence christianity. Most people are like sheep who will be easily led into this system of dogma that can save them from their own evils or magically heal them through prayer. I'm not just saying christian either i'm saying all who follow a religion with dogma and rules.. It gives them a sense of belonging even if they don't belong anywhere else. If you truly believe in this god no church or dogma or rules are necessary to worship it or feel it's presence. THIS INCLUDES SATANISTS.. satan and god come from the same source.. therefore they are one in the same. satanism is about self gratification i'll give them that.. but it involves gods and dogma just as any other religion. I have studied satanism and catholisim and christianity extensively and have looked into Islam also.. They all have the fundamental flaw of a non-existant higher power. Buddhism isn't all that bad but it still has a diety !! If you are not your own power who will be?

methinks someone has a bit of an ego....

The flaw I see in this is that logically, there must be a higher power, whether or not it is tangible is debateable.

I find it most amazing that those who have religion are seen as weak or close-minded for believing in the nonexistant, because in labeling a belief irrational and any form of deity non-existant, they themselves have CLOSED their minds to an entire world of things that are quite possible within the perameters of our physical surroundings.

It is my belief, therefore, that people with religion are open-minded, as they have not only explored the unexplainable mysteries of the universe, they have embraced the answer that humans are not the highest authority and don't know everything. They are also strong as they are willing to admit that they are not the highest power, something that is hard for most humans to do, and defend themselves against attacks against their beliefs everyday.

Religion is for the strong, the intelligent, the brave, in my opinion. At this point, I don't even care which religion, but to reject ANY religion at all as idiocy and/or weakness is so hypocritical to me. GAH.
