She tested the knives edge with a thumbnail, listening to the sound to judge it's sharpness. "It's possible." She pointed to a corner, where a very old chest was now sitting. "Stroke armour off the list. Tanundra has already retrived Ton's dragon scale suit." She reached up into a cuboard, pulled out a jar of something powdered and red, set it aside, and pulled out something dead.

They could have asked. And she might have told them. She was a mistake. She had no purpose.

Aella was sitting on her bed, back against the wall, knees drawn up to her chest. Reading, of all things, a romance novel. Without looking up, she reported. "In two days Tanudnra is taking Malik, and possibly Piper, and possible the magi headmaster, to Ton's grave sight to ask him to convince his god mother to bless weapons with holy magic in defense against the lich." Turn page. "That's pretty much it."

"You stay away from gaurds like that." He did not offer a reason. He was a father, he didn't have to. He got into the boat, Kat came in after him. He pulled at the gas motor. It sputtered, did not start. "New tech never works the way you want it to." He pulled harder two more times on the motor cord before it started up with a loud whire, and they sped off, O'Konner looking at a map while he steered.

Malik nodded.

"Two of them then as well. steel color, they'll blend in better."

Then back to Roarke.

"I see that the wolf girl is less than pleased by these surroundings. why don't we go someplace more comfortable so she can tell us about this dream involving cornfields."

Time's up. Onyx Stepped out of the dark, and his shots were fatal. one broken neck, one throat torn out, another, hearts torn free and those the left fled, terrified, while Onyx was casually licking blood off his hands.

"You need to learn to be willing to kill, Moon. especially in a place like this."

Though a look at him.

"Damn. you didn't get it enough. I was hoping to teach you what fear was really like. didn't work too well. too much pent up adrenaline I suppose."

"Don't trust me with the map do you Daddy?" She pulled her knees up to her chest. "And why not? Those guards were cool! THEY loved my piercings. Even the ones you don't know about." She smirked, let her dad chew on that one for a bit. she could see in her minds eye her father's face heating with fury when he did find exactly where those peircings where. 'That one gave me this really cool earing! look!" She hsowed her father the large drop earing withno particular shape to it. It was really cool. She thought to make some of her own this way. Why hadn't she thought of piercing her ears more? She thought she would once she was alon with her needles.

"Oh. How... Silly." That was both good and bad news.

"So, holy weapons... I assume your staff holds some of Her might, and I know that I have a few minor toys with enchantments, but a new sword is never a bad thing."

Tarathiel sighed. "Smells delicious. Lets go see what's cooking, shall we?"

Right...so now he decided to take her idea. Good lord there would be pint sized dragons all over the fortress now. Oh well, if they got annoying she would be sure to let Malik know in the most unpleasant way she could think up. Remodling home much? She's probably have to watch her step around things even more now knowing her. "Yay...dragons...and various other things...note to me, you're not to go on shopping sprees too much."

Roarke bent down and patted the steel dragon. "Go get one your comrades, would you?" the dragon trotted off to fetch someone he worked well with. "Yes, this place makes me uncomfortable as well. We'll go to the greenhouse, and have a taste of the sunlight, however fake it may be.

Moonstone sneered. "I told you I know how to fight, Onyx. Did you not believe me?" He rolled his eyes, left the building. "There is a lot of pent up everything. And it's going to be a while before any of it dies down." He stretched out a wing, thankfully it had only gotten clubbed, not sliced. He stompped a boot back into place.

"I don't need to kill."

His eyes went wide, his face went red. "Give me that earing." the ones in the "places he didn't know about" were not so bothersome. If he couldn't see, then he didn't care. But...He held out a hand. "Give it over Kat. Now."

Aella raised an eyebrow. "If you say so." She spared a glance upward from her book, rolled eyes. "Hold it a moment." She reached under her bed, pulled out a drawer, dug around it moment before pulling out a pair of trousers. She threw them at him. "At least put on some pants. What if the Oracle bumps into you or something?"

She stood, but left her staff on the bed. She didn't need it at the moment. "Yes. Lets."

Meilikki had just gotten the pot over the fire, where it started to simmer, by the time they two came out. She worked pretty fast when she wanted to.

Tarathiel gazed at his arms and realized he never bothered to get dressed after the 'test'. "Oh, what do you know. I guess I am not the model of modesty I thought I was..." He laughed softly, and dropped the pants on the floor.

He walked out of the room after Aella, and purposely walked into Oracle. "Oh, I am sorry..." he said with a rather aluring tone. But he passed her by and walked to the stairs, "I'll be right back. I have to go get someone to get my gear for me."

"Thank's for the armour." He said with a smile, and then tumbled up the stairs, where he quickly ordered about his crew, before returning wearing breeches and a tunic. He walked over to the chest and looked at it before opening it rather delicately. He removed the armour, and looked at it, sizing it to see if it was magical enough to reshape to fit him as most magical armour naturally does.

"What's for dinner, or breakfeast, or lunch?"

Eliot barked in agreement, she wanted to get out of there!

Kat clutched the earing to her body. "No, it's mine I don't have to give it to you." She looked at it closly. "It is pretty cool, and I could see why you want it in your own ear Daddy, but I'm going to keep it for mine. Yes I think I will." She tucked it down the front of her shirt and smirked.

Oynx shrugged his shoulders.

"Suit yourself. if you can't kill, go home. beucause maiming isn't going to work here. everyone here has a buddy with someone elase, and so on. it's like an ant nest. maiming some just pisses off the rest."

A smirk.

"and no matter how good you are, numbers will go against you. and you will lose. and they won't leave you just maimed."

"Then lets go there. lead the way, headmaster."

Malik looked about, and made sure to note how many were here, beofre walking over to Piper.

"Oh come now, you know you enjoy my shopping. I get all sort of interesting things. how was I to know you didn't like skeletal cobras? I thought they'd make great pets, not like they eat anything or needed to be housetrained."

Okay so in her head somewhere she was quite intrigued by this idea of sunlight that Roarke had brought up. The last time she saw it was from a sun spot holder and even that was false as well. Though she took to following Roarke with Malik. "Intersting, yes I'll give you that fact. And a pet isnt' supposed to be...well dead." She shook her head lightly, a finger still twirling at her hair as she gave him a little smile. "And I think I only perhaps enjoy it because of its oddity, that's all there is to your shopping."

Meilikki stopped, somewhat shocked, then turned to Aella. "Was he naked?" She had one eyebrow raised, the other down, a blush on her cheeks.

"Sorry, I think I put the idea in his head. I told him to put on some pants before something like that happened."

She went over to her counter, put away the butcher knife. "If he does it agian, I'll cut it off." Aella laughed.

Meilikki smiled. It was good to hear a bit of laughter. Then Tarathiel came back down. "I don't know what kind of condition that armor is in." She sat back down at the table, where it was her custome now to sit. "It's meal time, lets put it that way. And it' chilli."

Roarke lead the way back out, into the east wing, where they worked their way down the many corridors and hallways and whatnot, until Roarke opened a set of glass double doors, and they stepped out into sunlight. Trees and grass were spread all over, allwoed to grow by themselves to add an extra surface charm, but tneded to to keep weeds down. Yellow butterflies fluttered around here and there. He led them to a low table made out of glass, and low chairs of wood. There was spiced wine, cheeses and fruits on the table. Roarke was rubbing a finger under his chin.

"Is there anything else I can do? Doesn't seem Like I've done very much."

O'Konner stoppedd the motor, let them drift. He crossed his legs. "Kat, until you do as your father says, we will sit here, in the open, and wait for the drow to get us." Kat knew his threat to be true. They would wait here until she did as he asked. He did not accept sass back from his daughters.

Moonstone frowned. "Then I guess we'll have to find another place for fighting, becuase I'm not going to willingly kill people." It had been fun though....

He had no argument for the numbers comment. He knew tht as well as any did. A hlance backwards, as he walked his was to the market. "And you? How did it feel, for the excitment, the adrenaline to be absent?" It wasn't so much a pocking question, as it was a general interest one. Maybe they really were better off like this.

Eliot saw the cheese and wine but was not entirely intersted at it in the moment. She danced around in the sun, glad to be out, and chased the butterflyies. When she had enough of that she came into her human form and picke dup some spiced wine, she loved this stuff!

Kat glared at her father and reached into her top to give the earing back. It hadn't really mattered, she was only bothering him, and she knew the shape and style, she would make her own. Before she left she had taken the best carving wood she could find and cured it so it wouldn't rot, and some thin metal rods that could be used to fasten... anythign really... to her ear. She would make her own when she had the time. "It's onyl an earing daddy." She tried to sound as depressed as possible. She crossed her legs and moped.

Malik winced at the sunlight, even artifical. it hurt his eyes. But other than that, he followed with them, and sat at teh table.

"the only things I can think of off hand is armor. somthign for Piper, my armor is potent enough I think to handle a barrage. Anything you can think of really. what about ships. something for transportation between here and deepwater. and since we know Tarathiel's past time, something that can really take a magical or physical beating. we obviously make money somehow, and it's not with the purians or lostagrace I think. maybe a few ships, if for no other reason than to bribe Tarathiel to poke around someplace other than our home."

Onyx frowned lightly.

"It felt..like watching a movie that you don't like. there's just nothing of interest, you watch it becuase there's nothing else to watch. I still remember what it felt like. I remember the adrenaline pumping, the excitement, the triumph of victory."

Though since without emotion, his mind had more rational thoughts or not so much but he thuoght more.

"It's surprises me how extensive my knowledge really is on killing. how to, when to.And maybe..part of me wanted no emotion because Whirlwind might become for me what father was for mom."

A small smirk.

"She was afriad of me before. the emotions from me, anyway. now there's none there. I coudl be her friend, but I can't feel the comraderie of freindship anymore. So I get what I want, to be with her in some kind of way, but now I lack the need for it."

Even for being surface born she squinted a little at the sunlight...hey she had her reasons too...quick light change and moon elf eyes didn't really mix to well. But of course her eyes adjusted easily enough and rather than follow to the little table she more or less stood there a moment, looking around as if she had never seen a blade of grass in her life. What was the matter? One could call it culture shock...after all, how long had it been since their last little surface visit? And even then, it was night. But this was how she rememebered the surface to look on a clear sunny day. Green blanketing the landscape, dappled with bits of other color every now and then. This was actual grass and actual trees. Hell...those were actual butterflies. She didn't even hear what they were talking about, and had almost a drunk look about her as she closed her eyes, smiling softly as she really just absorbed it all in a moment. Cloest to actual surface she'd get for a while or forever. But still, knowing what she was missing she didn't care, because she had something better to replace her lost surface.
