fire-link does have a point, people tend to go off topic way too often in this guild and titans have absolutely nothing to do with Tau. For future notice 'chill out' isn't the proper response to somebody calmly trying to get the thread back to it's original purpose, discussing the Tau as an army.

Well, here's something related to the Tau as far as painting and modeling.
For a long time, I've frequented the wonderful site that is Hive Fleet Moloch. Quite a lot of their models can be seen in the picture of the Apocalypse Tyranid Army in the original Apocalypse expansion book (The Flying Hive Tyrants? All of the ones with dynamic poses were done by the boys at Hive Fleet Moloch.)
Aaaanyway, I was perusing their site and found something quite suited for this. A Kroot Renegade army list built to be played using Tau rules. I thought it was pretty damn spiffy and thought I would share the glory.

@ Bloodangles: You're the one who threw this thread off-topic a page back by spinning the discussion off to being about larger points encounters.

wow O_O" i was merely pointing out im waiting for the day i have a big enough tau army to throw a titan in... if you havent been following the conversation, which you shouldve done before you make accusations
either way, i suppose i shouldve clarified,
and i didnt know if tau titans even exist... and titans, if im not mistaken, are sortof like mercenaries, they can be on any side, whether it be space marine, tau, or even necrons...

Nope. Titans are just large war machines made by the side as a tool. The ones referred to most often are the Imperium's and Chaos'. For the Imperium, it's a special section of Mars that handles and cares for titans, as for Chaos, I'm not entirely sure.
The term titan can be applied to any race, though. I believe some races have yet to have one, such as DE and Tau off the top of my head.

yes, a titan can be used by whoever makes it... summed up, and by what i understand of what you wrote so simply put, a warhound titan booting for my tau army would be SWEET. lol just, paint it army colors, give it some "tau looking emblems" and im pre sure, by GW rules, that its legal

That would be saying that the Tau salvaged one and fixed it up to their standards. It would be interesting, yes, but I don't think it'll fly fluff wise. Besides, in order to do that, you would need to also have your opponents permission.

The Tau don't have titans, plain and simple. The closest thing that they have is the Manta and, honestly, the Manta is far more terrifying than any titan (but for the Warlord).
As far as a suggestion to a Tau Superheavy non-flier, the best thing would be a superheavy-Hammerhead (sort of equivalent to the Scorpion). Give it a Heavy Rail Cannon that can fire a submunition round using the 10" template along with an upgraded missile system with six or so missiles that uses the Apoc. Barrage template.

*shrug*
By Tau rules, it'd have AV 13 at most and there'd be something on the Nid side shooting at it with Bio Cannons or getting in close to rip it apart with things such as Crushing Claws.
I actually may start drawing this idea up (on paper). I'm not a Tau player, but the idea of this tank is too good to pass up from an artistic view.
