Lord Haelstrom Vintrict No matter how much a coon Bojuka is, we all still believe in the Jecht Shot. No we won't because nobody likes Blitzball. [puts a hose into a globe of water and turns on the suction] Game's over. Accept your lord and savior.

OutlawD One Agreed. The two are completely different; Opposites if you will. And why is Vin still stuck on Bojuka….and also why has he not figured out he's being ignored yet? o.0 Unless he says something worth while….eh well. dramallama Well, Heita's implying Hank Hill is a "coon" because Hank Hill is to a specific culture, race, and setting what a black face character is to black culture. Though Hank's obviously not literally black face, he's "white middle America's equivalent of a black stereotype." And while I disagree in the above to the extent at which he is, it is true. King of the Hill is, plain as day, satirizing ... middle white America with a sort of stereotype vision.

Vintrict Accept your lord and savior. Blitzball. Where you play water polo in a globe of water with no goggles, dressed like you dove into a box of rugby gear and torn dresses and walked out in whatever the ******** stuck to your body. If Tidus and Wakka are indicative of what Blitzball produces in culture, Blitzball needs to be banned. Forever.

Slash Zinrai The only thing I can say for certain is that Outlaw is lying to himself. Most likely because he thinks this is some sort of clever trap, or attempt to make him say something he doesn't believe. "Oh! These guys are such assholes! If I agree with Hael, then they'll all jump on me for being racist. But Mr. Brown ain't fallin' for that game!" When, in fact, constantly saying that you aren't racist...at all...is definitively worse than admitting that, on some level, everyone is. Just because you're black doesn't grant you license to decide what is, or isn't, racist...Nor does the plight of one's ancestors give them any REAL understanding on the subject. You are, just like everyone, racist on some level. I guarantee it. Slash go eat or walk your dog dude. You over think for people you can't think for. I'm not going to apologize for being smart or logical enough to understand that race doesn't matter that much orrrr apologize for saying that I am not hateful towards someone because of their race. I never said stereotypes or societal made racial things have not crossed my mind but I don't hate or harm people based off that which would make me not a racist. I have not actively committed an act of racism which I consider to make me not a racist. Everyone at some point has fallen victim to a thought based off of race but not all people let that actually reach the light of day or effect how they deal with people. I take time to know or try to observe a person first.

Of course king of the hill does that, but Hank is not a coon based off of the definition of the word. He used the wrong word. Coon does not apply to white people.

Blitzball outfits were completely crazy looking….as was Tidus' clothing from the very beginning of the game. He tried the LL pant leg and failed horribly if I remember what Tidus' wore correctly

OutlawD One ... I'm not going to apologize for being smart or logical enough to understand... Note to the above. Your general lack of correct grammar, misuse of common words, and consistent misspellings would suggest otherwise. That alone would be enough to leave me with the impression that you are likely young...between 15, and 19...and mostly uneducated. Given that, and the noted correlations between being "well-read" and intelligence, I find it highly unlikely that you have -any- idea what you're talking about. You could earn a great deal of respect, and much more clout, by admitting that to yourself...and, by association, everyone else. As it stands now, you read like a person who views the world "without color"; i.e. without race, or differences in society. This is both an inaccurate portrayal of human nature, and undeniably racist.

Lord Haelstrom Yup. The only difference I'd point out, is that blackface actors were impersonating what they portrayed blacks as pure comedy / a form of insult. There was no real social commentary to be had or any deeper underlying meaning to said portrayals, and of course they were radically inaccurate. Meanwhile, Judge [maker of King of the Hill] bases the personalities, location, and general stylings of the characters on people he met growing up in the area King of the Hill is based. And while some episodes are just slapstick humor, many of them are pointing out issues with prevalent mindsets of more conservative middle white America that still exist and are quite frequently observed today. Even where I grew up in Indiana, I've met and known people who are only one octave off Hank or Bill or Dale, in mannerisms and in mindset. There's a distinct difference with that in mind - though both are caricatures, the validity of the observations made in each one is on a radically different scale, and the intent is quite different. Which, I feel is a significant difference that needs observed. Well that's not necessarily true. We see it has that today but back then their intent was not necessarily to insult. Case in point Buckwheat from the little rascals. It was more so an accepted ideal that is essentially offensive like how Asians are inherently good at math and computers or how Blacks are athletically superior. Most would see nothing wrong with it but it is apparently considered to be an offensive stereotype. The blackface function much in the same.
