Larry blinked his eyes, like he had just seen a cute, leather-clad girl walking down the street in front of him. He snapped his fingers in front of his eyes twice and slapped himself on his right cheek. "This ain't a dream." he said "And if this ain't a dream, then what..." He took the business card his old boss had given him from his vest pocket and looked at it. "Okay..." he said "This had better be a joke, boss... I'll have a heart attack if it ain't." Larry approached the frog that moments earlier had just created a dragonfly of nothing and eaten it. He got down so his eyes were level with the frog and continued to stare, adding with a slight shake of his head "Just what the hell kinda frog are you?"

[[ooc: Oh. Sorry Frogtaur, ^-^;; I will make something to be shown why she knows you. Hmm... lol ]]

A loud commotion up ahead had her skittering sideways around the end of a bookcase. The floor and ceiling rumbled with the impact as a bright flash flared for a moment and she could see some of the ceiling fall. Damn, target is in trouble. She saw some, humans she presumed, in full brown cloaks lean around the end of other isles to impatiently ssshh the noisemakers. Again she wondered where she was to be in such an unusual place where others ignored things like this. Following this line of thinking, her mind flashed back to her orders.

------

__Deep in the Dessert, Bounty Hunter HQ 13:00

_She stood with arms crossed, one eyebrow raised as she tapped her foot impatiently. A row of rugged cutthroats sat in front of her. Each leering at her with gap toothed smiles. Thier clothes were torn and ratty, filthy in places, dirt smeared across thier skin. The leader of the bounty hunters sat up straighter, crossing arms over his burly chest as he looked down at her. She sighed and removed her sunglasses, her deep green eyes which faded to gold at the center narrowed on him. The comm link in her ear rattled softly, meaning her people at the other end were listening, though the bounty hunters wouldn't know that.
_The decrepit old building she stood in made of old wood let sunlight in from the dessert outside, though holes and cracks. A dry breeze rustled in through the door, bringing with it some sand. The bounty hinters grin was lethal as his beady eyes narrowed on her. Her voice was deep and rough, with a thick accent as he laughed.
_"Weel now lassie. Do ye think to mock me? I gave you all the infermation we had on the man, yer target. You are to track 'im down and kill 'im. All messy like. He's the best technition there is on this planet, and see'in as how we want that there reward money fer bringin 'im in, we gotta get 'im see? now, we here yer the best gun for hire 'round these parts, without an allegience. So if ye do this fer us, weel split the reward with ye. We don't want to hurt ye sweetcheeks, seein as how yer so pretty, but we weel iffin' you don't comply with our wishes."
_The others laughed harshly, jeering at her. She tucked her sunglasses in her pocket, a grim smile curving her lips. She reached up and touched her comm link which was connected to the Mishap Mercenaries Base. "Did you get that boss?? Alright, so can I clean up here now? " The comm link buzzed in her ear, and the faces of the bounty hinters reddened with rage as they all stood and reached for thier weapons. She laughed, then touched the link again. "Alright, I will report back when finished."
_As the men pulled out thier weapons she pulled her sword out of the sheath down her back and pressed the release button, making the sword split into two dual peices. She twirled them in circles and taunted the bounty hunters. "Come on big boys."

__Dessert, Bounty Hunter HQ 13:27

_She wiped her swords off on the shirt of the lead hunter, then clicked them together, replacing them in the sheath on her back. As she walked out she kicked over a set of cans filled with lantern oil, then stepped outside. She pulled out a cigarette, put it between her teeth and pulled out a match. She touched the comm link, lighting her cigarette with the match. Blowing out a puff of smoke she said, "Finished." The comm link buzzed and she stepped forward, throwing the match over her shoulder through the doorway as they said, "Dispose of the Evidence." As the little headquarters blew into a raging inferno behind her, her cloak billowed around her, and she took another drag. "Done."
_The flames grew and licked at the dry timber eagerly, the building collapsed behind her. Her comm buzzed again. "Find the tech Joel, keep him safe. He's with us, but he's lost." She took a step forward and a swirl of desert sand kicked up around her. When it dispersed, a large leopard stretched and shook its head. The comm link blinked on its ear, but the black bag stayed looped over its back with the scabbord of her sword. The link buzzed and she growled softly. "He was last seen in the desert city in building 98-OYT, go there, find his trail, find him. Protect him." She huffed softly in answer, then lifted her muzzle to the air. She turned north and ran, her body lowered to the ground as she sped across the desert.

__Desert City 15:00

_The leopard stood before the doorway of the marked building, raised its head to look around. As she stepped over the threshold, she shook, then turned back into her human state. Her pale hair fanned out as she shook her head again, dusting the sand off her clothes. She explored the building until she found a man standing by a row of books, holding one in particular, staring at it broodingly. She stepped up behind him silently, and glanced at the book. "Something interesting about the cover?"
_The man jumped, and turned to look at her wide eyed. "Y-your not a bounty hunter are you?" he asked her suspiciously. She touched the comm link, turned it on. The guys at Mishaps explained. "So, your an Ex-Librarian huh? Good, I am on your side." She smiled at the man who relaxed, realizeing she was ok. He began explaining, he had seen her target sucked into the book. And he knew where the other end came out. Back in the Mishaps Library, is where it would take him. She sighed. The guys on the other end immediately opened a portal behind her and she stepped back into it, giving the Ex-Librarian a salute. "Thanks for the info old man."

__The Forest beside the Library 18:00

_The portal opened and dropped her out onto the ground about a half mile from the Library. "Go, now. He is likely in more danger there than anywhere." She immediately shifted into a large panther, and took off towards the location of the library at a run.

-----

She jerked her mind back to the present as she skidded around another corner. She couldn't be very far from the source of the commotion now. Looking down a row of books she saw the fight. Damn! Quickly she turned and ran towards the two men, keeping a wary eye on the ceiling, as it seemed to be moving and falling. Gotta help!

The trek across the desert was annoying, because it was the second time he had to do it. At least there weren't any more bandits. But that was counteracted by the BAS he had. Maybe he should just drop it off in the armory, and forget all about it.

Anyways, hopping through the transporter, he was back at the base. Heading out to the armory, he did drop the sword off, but figured he might use it later. Then, he went off to grab some food. The cafeteria was his next stop, although he did pass the library, where he saw someone staring a frog in the eyes. Of all the dumbest things he had seen/done, and there had been many, this took the cake. Shaking his head, he continued on towards the Valhalla that was the kitchen.

((Wow, now I am waiting for Magiking. That never happens. So I don't go crazy, I will make a post including the android. He looks and sounds just like Sokato. I use him a lot. Whenever I post in darkred its for the android.))

The android finished packing up the M.P.L.P and left the garage. He wandered into Sokato's office and sat at his desk, mimicking Sokato like some crazy twin brother. Nobody can tell the difference though, as they look and sound the same.

A small alarm went off in his head, most literally... It told him that there was trouble in the library. He got up and left towards the library. The android and Sokato act like watch dogs when idle around the HQ.

"Trouble in the library. I heard that place can get crazy." The android mumbled to himself as he walked off and down the hall.

Yue was a pretty foul mood.
"BABYSITTING." He swore.
A little way out from the city, where he could keep an eye out for the others while also having substantial view of the city to where he could spy for dragons.
Sadily, he was lashing out on the forest. The poor things didn't stand a chance. Trees, roots, bark and all, were drained of every drop of moisture.
Luckily, on the behalf of the trees that is, a caccon of earth, sand, and ice was beginning to overtake him. The caccon surronded the teen giving him room to move and breathe, though no sunlight to see. Shrouded in the inkiest of darkness, shadar was forced to calm himself. Every fiber of his body felt the cooling and calming waves of ice surge through him.
Yue stood, his eyes closed. An eerie silence echoed through the caccon, the teen was beginning to quiet the emotions in his mind.
"Silence." He muttered, repeatingly.
Calmed and cool, the trap began to crumble, though the forest was still a mess. Pools of water floated the debris of tree which were beginning to crumble. "Oops." Quickily getting to work, shadar had all of the trees, back in their normal condition. It was good to let off some steam, sometimes.
Yue jumped into the trees, something inside of him felt a glamour, or a veil of deception, cloaking an object from the eyes of the world.
"What is going on here?" Yue's cold eyes drifted to the city. Inside he sensed confusion, panic, misery, hatred.
"What is this?" He muttered.
((Sorry for making you wait Ace.))

The library, MMHQ

The severed spike clattered to the floor. While the loss of a chip of rock didn't really phase the ceiling, the spikes didn't pursue their intended victim. Most likely it was just a local effect produced by some book.

Joel was running almost before his cloaked companion started. A strong wind picked up, pushing Joel to speeds he could never manage on his own. His cloaked companion was still much faster than him, but he had to slow down to maneuver the awkward aisles. Gustav simply changed directions, and Joel blew around tight corners like an autumn leaf.

Almost as soon as the two began their dash, an unseen librarian hissed, "No running in the library!" Joel was going to ignore the command, but then he realized the reason why one should not run in the library. It was harder to see the monsters that way. Joel and his companion had almost missed the HUGE leopard dashing at them.

Shouting a warning to the cloaked man, Joel threw a book at the giant cat.

"Rkkkk-BRAAAAP!"

The frog jumped on top of Larry's head, then jumped off behind him.

"Are you talking to Pete?" A deep voice behind Larry asked affably. "He won't talk back, you know."

The voice belonged to an elderly man with amused blue eyes. His face was a mass of wrinkles, and a Mets baseball cap didn't quite cover his bald spot. Short gray hair frizzed out around his head. He wore a stained gray jumpsuit which was far too baggy for him. The legs of the jumpsuit were tucked into equally stained brown boots. The stains on the boots looked suspiciously like guano, but the boots were clean. In his shaking hands he held Pete. The frog looked uncomfortable with the shaking, and soon tried to climb higher on the old man's arms.

"Pete escapes all the time, but he always comes here. He learned how to make dragonflies, but it only works here. He's got all the dragonflies he could ever eat in his pond, but he just forgets them when he can't see them. Which happens every night." The man laughed. "Pete's not very bright, you know."

"I'm Mr. Forgle, by the way." the old man said.

Wait, ho-shi-! The panther skidded sideways and ducked as a book came flying toward her head. Suitably stunned for a moment she opened her mouth and roared in agitation at the act, coming from the very one she was suppose to protect. Although, he wouldn't know that. So she had to give him credit, she would likely have reacted in a violent manner to something her size barreling at her too.
"HEY!!! On your side over here!!" Her voice came out a rough growl, though she could be reasonably understood.

[[ooc: haha, yay meh. -dances happily- I have been waiting all day on someones to get on to Rp with, have been so bored, with no end in sight! And then, poof!! The frogtaur has returned! woo! ]]

Larry straightened himself out and stood up to face the old man. He looked at the man in a confused and somehow amused way. Looking at the man who seemed to have materialized out of nowhere and then at the business card, Larry said "Yeh. Boss never did have himself a good set of hands, preferred talking. So, Mister Forgle, I assume it is you I'm here to see?"

((Sorry Magiking, you were not making wait for that long. I just was waiting on some one else and was a little ticked off at everything. =/. It was not you.))

Sokato walked up the stairs and unlocked one of the two rooms. Inside the room there was on bed. The bed was made out of planks of wood and the mattress was probably made out of hay stuffed in a sack. It had a white blanket covering it. The window was made out of wax paper. There was one desk and a nightstand, but that was pretty much it.

Sokato closes and locks the door before he sits down to read the map. He also makes sure that the blinds are closed. A piece of cloth draped over horizontal bar stood in place of a real set of blinds. He finally sits down at the desk and unrolled the scroll. He looks it over twice then takes off his sunglasses. A small slit of red light projects from Sokato's mechanical eye and slowly moves back and forth scanning the scroll.

Afterwards Sokato rolls up the scroll and puts it in a drawer in the desk.
"I wonder how Yue is doing. I think that was a little mean, sending him after those two... Hopefully he makes it back within the week." He kicked his feet up on the desk and waited.

Riku, upon hearing Joel's warning, stabbing his katars into the ground, screeching to a halt- literally. He sensed something behind him, and turned in time to see yet another leopard jumping at him. He raised his katars outward, and the leopard leapt right into them. It howled in extreme agony- the blades were still channeling fire. The heat immolated the big cat from the inside out.

"Oops," was all Riku could say, before another monster attacked him. This one, however, was an Ifrit, a fire jinn. It raised it's hands, and a pillar of fire shot up underneath Riku. Fortunately, his katars absorbed most of the flames, but Riku still got burned.

"First the celing attacks me, then leopards, and now a friggin fire jinn. What is UP with this library?" The flames on his katars extinguished, and the blades seemed to liquify into a clear blue fluid- enchanted water. He swung his katar, and the new blade of water stretched out like a whip. It wrapped around the Ifrit, extinguishing some of it's flames. He then pulled back the other blade, and rammed it through the heart of the Ifrit, literally flooding it with water. It exploded, and water went everywhere.

Riku's katars returned to their normal state, and he sheathed them. "Now, can you please explain just what the HELL is going on here?"

The library, MMHQ

Joel winced at the panther's roar. Speaking loudly due to the ringing in his ears, Joel shouted at the cat, "It doesn't matter whose side you're on, everything in the library must have heard that! In five minutes we'll be hip deep in every kind of semi-sentient crap you can think of!" Already he saw the cloaked guy struggling with leopards and a fire jinn. The ringing in his ears subsided. In a more normal tone of voice, Joel said, "We've got to go, now. Take us out of here, cat."

((
@acheron: Yeah, take us out of here.
))

Library entrance, the library, MMHQ

Mr. Forgle said, "I sure am. Larry, is it? Your old boss called to say a Larry was coming. I must say, I'll be glad of the help. The captains keep taking all of my best workers, you know? They keep taking them, and it makes it hard to keep up. Although," he paused, "the captains keep us all employed, so I guess they're not so bad. They also beat some sense into the rookies, sometimes." The old man chuckled. "I can't tell you how many people come in here with the strangest animals. We have all sorts of cats, and a pack of wolves. There was one girl who had a phoenix. I don't know where they get them, but most of the rookies think that they can leave their pets in their rooms while they go off on missions. It's irresponsible, you know? But, Ryanna hired me to take care of the animals while the owners are gone, so at least they'll be taken care of. It's a lot of work for just one person, you know? Anyway, if you'll just come this way, I'll show you the grounds. If you're good enough, I'll keep you, and if you're really good, one of the captains will probably snap you up. They keep taking the best people, you know? It makes it had to keep up..." Mr. Forgle turned to go, obviously expecting Larry to follow. Pete struggled as they left the library, but couldn't escape the old man's grip. The frog looked forlornly at the library doors.

"Anyway, Larry, how about you tell me a little about yourself while we walk?" Mr. Forgle asked.

The Libray MMHQ

Her eyes had followed the very brief fight between the other figure with her target then veered back to him. She sat down calmly, swishing her tail side to side with an amused expression, whiskers twitching.
"Eh, you worry too much Joel."
The panthers tail flicked up and opened a velcro sided pouch on the bag around its back, and out dropped a small metallic disk. It rolled around and stopped in front of her then lit up with a very muted blue glow. She glanced at the other man and sighed before leaning down to bump it with her nose. It turned on instantly, then began spinning wildly. The disk rose to hover in the air between the three before the blue light surrounded the three in a circle on the floor.
"Com. Nav., immediate transport for Pan-375, Target, and Targets associate from MMHQ Library to MMHQ Upper Level Office away from the library!"
The disk dropped once then hovered again as though nodding to acknowledge the command, before the blue light on the ground spread wide and turned into a spinning portal. Each of thier bodies were digitized into smaller microbes and shot into the portal tech. The crush of horror induced things that came crashing around the corner poofed back into thier respective books as thier prey got away unscathed.

Outside Ryanna Rindell's office, MMHQ

The shimmering blue portal faded away. Immediately, Joel looked around. They were at the T-intersection of two long hallways. The walls were made of ancient stone, but electric lighting indicated that the building had been restored. Down the main hall were several single doors on the left, and two sets of double doors on the right. The farthest set had been propped open, and inside Joel could see some sort of cafeteria. Massive doors at the end of the main hall obviously led to an entryway, with guards discretely stationed where they could check incoming guests. Through the textured windows of the main doors sunlight could be seen, and a blur of green which must have been grass and shrubbery. Oddly lumpy security cameras watched over everything. Absently Joel noted that there were no blind spots.

The hall to the left had a metal door at the far end. Thick locks on the door meant that the room could be sealed in case of emergency. There was a small glass window in the door which was thick enough to be not only bulletproof, but also cannon-proof.

Turning counter-clockwise, Joel saw that right next to them were two solid oak doors with gold-plated doorknobs. The knobs were the kind that work like levers, and they were coated in a layer of dust. Beside the doors, four feet up from the floor, a gold plaque read "Commander Ryanna Rindell". Small signs on either side of the doors pointed left to the library, and right to the portal room.

The hall to the library was bare except for a poster proclaiming that reading was an adventure. At the end of the hall an opening to the right led into a softly carpeted room. Shelves of books were easily visible. This was most probably where the three had been moments before.

Immediately next to him were two people. One was the black panther who had just teleported them out. The other was the black-robed man, who was still wielding his katars. Joel almost felt like a clown at a wake, with his bright green baggy clothes, red vest, and turban.

"Thank you," Joel said to the cat. He took a breath, and let it out again. "Now, let's talk." Joel turned to face the dark spectre. "Since you found me first, you can start. You keep on asking me to explain what the hell is going on here. Well, here's your answer. I'm Joel Issiri, and that was the library. But you already knew my name, and where to find me. So now it's my turn to ask you to explain what, the hell, is going on here." The words were angry, but Joel's tone was calm.
