"I'm not too sure," Danag replied to Janen's questions. "But I believe Konton has a plan as to what we're going to do." She did know that the basic plan was to leave in search of a new tribelands, but the fox would find that out once he reached the tribe's new Elder. "Go to the cliffs," she repeated. "And if you meet anyone else along the way, take them with you."

Janen shrugged his shoulders, obeying the other vixen, Danag, if he remembered correctly. "If you guys end up looking for my mother, she's somewhere around here still, not too far away, I'm guessing," he stated, trying to aid the brown vixen. "As for that black and white guy... one of Akuma's children... I saw him pass by yesterday. He could be on the outskirts of the tribe," he added. He bowed his head to the two vixens before dashing off in the direction of the Cliffs... Or so he wanted Danag to believe.

She was far too old for this...

A pair of gleaming red eyes stayed fixed on her prey. How the little fawn meandered its way out here without its mother was a mystery to the red, black, and white vixen. Not that it really mattered. What that meant was that this fawn was fair game, and rather unfortunate.

Seika was good at her job; killing was all she really knew how to do. Not even her awkward leg could stop her, though the hindrance was quite the annoyance. She did not move a muscle other than the impatient twitching of the end of her tail. Still, the fawn could not detect it, obviously, for it moved even closer to where the vixen was concealing herself among the dead long grass.

When the fawn was just in range, she leapt up snarling, sprinting towards it. It didn't get far before Seika sprang on it, snapping its back. It squeled as her jaws clenched tightly around its neck, her paw resting nearby. She pushed down on its neck with her paw, pulling her head in the opposite direction. There was a sickening crack and then it went limp in her jaws.

Seika sighed, dropping the fawn by her feet. It took quite a while to find the prey, and it was a surprise she could find anything at all, what with everything being dead. She knew she had to bring the kill back to the Cliffs; everyone was probably there. Not to mention she could gloat to Konton about her kill, though the black and white Elder would probably be more pleased than anything.

There was just so much death in the lands. The damage looked even more horrific from above than it did on the ground really. There was no time to waste, they needed to get the tribe out of there. It took a while of searching, but eventually the guardian found his mark. He swooped down toward the male fox, making a surprisingly graceful landing for his size. "Kutsuu," he greeted, folding his wings back down on his back. "The tribe is gathering together at the cliffs. Head that way and take anyone you meet with you. I'm going to scout the area some more for others before heading back."

--------------------------------------------

While being unsuccessful in finding Janen, the hunter was fortunate enough to happen across Seika. Although, the squealing fawn and the scent of the female fox had been a helpful guide. "Nice find," he complimented as he padded up, sharingan eyes passing briefly over the carcass before looking back up at the vixen. "The tribe will be moving out of these lands. I've been instructed to send anyone I find back to the cliffs. Do you need help getting back with that?" Given her bad leg, it was truly a miracle that the vixen could still hunt at all really. She truly was good at what she did. Even so, it might be easier to drag the carcass back with the aid of a second fox.

Danag nodded her thanks and watched Janen leave. Just then another smell filled Danag's nostrils. It was the scent of death, but a better one. The scent of a recent kill. She followed it, it was a deer from what she could tell. She found it, with Janen's mother Seika and Kekkon surrounding the food; they were dragging it toward the cliffs. She hadn't even noticed their presence until seeing them.

Danag kept her cool, despite her ravenous hunger. "I take it you're heading to Konton," she said. "Do you know if anyone else is out there?" The way she saw it, the sooner she finished gathering everyone that was left, the better.

The male modifox looked up at the guardian and shook his head. "I highly doubt anyone else is out there," he said with a sigh. "I've been making my way back towards the cliffs for quite some time now and haven't been able to see heads or tails of anyone. I only got a whiff of Konton's scent, but she was heading back as well," he explained. The guardian would only be wasting his time by now; everyone else was probably already dead or gone.

Seika's red eyes looked up at her fellow hunter gleaming. "She made the decision to leave? Huh, maybe she is a decent Elder after all," Seika stated with a smirk. She enjoying mocking Konton, even as an Elder.

The red, black, and white vixen stood awkwardly, her weight shifted to her right to avoid putting pressure on her bad leg. "That would be lovely, yes," she replied, her jaws sinking into the fawns neck before she lifted it up and began to haul it back with the help of the other hunter. She pondered for a few moments, eventually remembering his name to be Kekkon. It would be easier to commit names to memory, now that half the tribe was gone.

The two of them did not get far before running into Danag. Seika momentarily rested the kill on the ground, flipping her hair so it went back to its position over her right eye. "Indeed we are heading back to Konton, who I assume is at the cliffs. And no, Danag, I don't believe anyone else is out there..." So many of the members had disappeared. She wondered where they had all went, especially Akuma and Frenka. How could they have left the tribe they had worked so hard to raise?

Sangre stayed with Konton, too tired to do much beyond that. She glanced up at the white fox, questions hanging in her eyes.

"Konton... what happened to Freya... and Akuma?" she asked softly. A broken BCR hung around her front leg and she pushed at it with her nose for a moment.

"She is there with the others," Danag replied with a nod. "The few others that are left, that is." As difficult as it was to believe, Seika was probably right in that there were no others. A more thorough search would take too long and would be equally useless. "I suppose I'll return with you to the cliffs," she decided. Danag looked back at them, and noticed Seika's hurt foot for the first time. "Here, I'll take over carrying that for you, Seika," Danag offered, moving closer to them. It was a wonder that the other hunter had managed to find a kill a fawn while injured and under these conditions.

Konton's gaze drifted down to the ground. "I'm not too sure what happened to Frenka. Akuma however... " She glanced around, scanning the area to see that no one else was around. "Akuma left due to a little... Fling she had with that 'Daeva, Dorchet. She had a litter of three with him and fled, fearing her mate, Kinovu's, opinions. When everyone else returns, we will find her and search for new lands with her. After all, she's been wandering the most out of us all." She looked at the broken BCR around Sangre's ankle for a brief moment, before an idea struck her. "But maybe you have done just as much traveling as she has." Her eyes glimmered with a speck of hope. "Do you have any idea of a place that would be suitable for us to call home again?

Seika nodded to the other hunter, moving aside to allow Danag to take her place. "Thank you," she said with a bow of her head, before continuing to awkwardly walk along. "Do either of you have any idea where Elder-dearest intends to re-home us?"

Danag glanced at Kekkon before answering for herself. "I'm not sure Konton herself knows just yet," she replied with a shake of her head. How could she, after all? These lands were too sacred to the tribe, moving had never been thought of before. "I believe she'll think of something, though," Danag added, her amount of faith surprising even herself. She took the fawn up in her mouth, stopping herself from being able to reply further.

Seika nodded. "I guess that makes sense," she replied, continuing to limp her way along. She realized that she couldn't inquire more from the two hunters unless they wanted to stop every three seconds or so.

The cliffs eventually came into view. "It's going to be very sad to leave..." she mused, ambling her way around the deep, dry, empty hole in the ground which used to be filled with water. The stench of decaying fish rose from its depths. It was so unpleasant that even she had to wrinkle her nose.

Akakumo gave a grave nod to Kutsuu's words. "I agree with you, but one last cursory look couldn't hurt. I would hate to leave anyone behind." The dragon extended his wings again, reading himself for flight. "I will meet you back at the cliffs. Shouldn't take too long." With that said, the guardian beat his wings a few times and was airborne once more.

------------------------------------------

With Seika's consent, Kekkon assited in dragging the small carcass back to the cliff. When the ran into Danag along the way, he gave her a nod in greeting, but otherwise stayed silent as the two vixen spoke with one another. Danag swapped with Seika in carrying duty, and the three continued onward.

As the cliff came into view, the hunter couldn't help but inwardly echo Seika's sentiments. After all, he had been living on these lands with this tribe basically his entire life. Sure, he had wandered occasionally to go see other areas, but he always came back. He took his position in the tribe quite seriously, and would never abandon them. That was for certain.

Kutsuu nodded at the Tribe Guardian, watching as it rose from the ground. After watching it for a few moments, he turned on his heels and headed back. He was, after all, headed back in the first place. He continued padding his way along, still rather irritated, but thankful that he finally caught a sign of life in this wretched, godforsaken place he used to call home.

Seika came to a stop before the cliffside, looking up at it. She winced with the very thought of scaling its side with her awkward leg. She always hated climbing up this cliff. After a few short moments of contemplating how she was going to climb up (like she always did), she turned around to face Kekkon and Danag again. "Would either of you like me to take your place in carrying the kill up?"

Kekkon let go of the kill briefly and shook his head. "We're fine, Seika, but thank you. Since it's a fawn it shouldn't be too cumbersome." After all, the poor huntress had enough difficulties getting up the cliff as it was. It hadn't escaped his noticed how she eyed the rocky wall. Before lowering his head to grab onto the kill once more, he said, "Let's get going then. I'm sure the other will be pleased to see this."

Danag answered Seika with a short "no" as well. She imagined it would be difficult for the other vixen to climb the cliff as she was, let alone carrying a carcass up. Sure it was just a fawn, but to make Seika carry it was unnecessary. She said nothing else as she picked up her half of the fawn and began the journey up to the cliffs.

Through combined efforts the three managed to make it up the cliff in a decent amount of time. Once they had approached the gathered group, Kekkon lowered the carcass to the group and backed up a bit to give the others room. "Seika caught some food," he said simply, giving credit where credit was due. "We didn't see any others in the forest."
