There are no such things as coincidence.Valerye sighed, grabbing a blanket of her own, settling it near a window. She stared out the window and wondered if time was still continuing as it usually did, back home. Valerye propped her elbows on the windowsill and rested her chin in her hands. "Do you suppose that we still see the same moon as back home?" she asked the gentle breeze. Feeling a little lonely, since she didn't really make an effort to mingle with the rest of the group, Valerye continued to gaze out the window to the stars.
She began to idly play with her hair, when she realized her staff was still by the door. Avoiding Luke, Haylin, and the rest of them, she quickly grabbed her staff and decided to get a pillow while she was at it, then returned to the window, hogging up the slight breeze that teased her hair. It was then that she noticed that things other than her clothing had changed. Her hair had a slight green tint to it, even though it was still black. She reached up to push her glasses up further along her nose, to find that they were no longer there. Valerye smiled. Even though she felt more sophisticated with her glasses, she had loathed them, and was glad of it's absence.
'Today's been full of surprises.' She thought, finding her necklace to be replaced with a gold band around her neck, with tiny emerald and sapphire insets. Her bracelets matched, of course, but she had hardly noticed these things until recently. The recent events had confused Valerye so much that her observations had gone down a little. Exploring what else that had been added, she found her boots to be soft leather, like moccasins. Looking her shoes over took a good part of five minutes. Then there was the purple orb in her staff that called out to her, and the mysterious satchel that had who knows what in it.
Deciding to leave both the staff and her satchel until morning, when she thought better, Valerye snuggled into the blanket. She had tried studying for her Bio class the previous night, and had only gotten four hours of sleep. Then the whole 'through the door' thing, along with all the other events, had drained Valerye's energy. She put her head on the pillow, and fell instantly asleep.
((I added totally useless information. You could skim through it, and it wouldn't make a difference. I'm just really bored right now.)) There is only hitsuzen

Jao started at Emmia's voice. He'd been concentrating so hard on trying to catch someone's attenion, the dark elf had completely overlooked her. But now as he gazed upon her face, Jao couldn't imagine why he hadn't spotted her immediately. She was... striking. Like a silver shaft of moonlight made solid, or liquid smoke formed into a woman's body. For a long, awkward moment the young elf just stared at Emmia, his eyes turning to a soft rose color. "I... er.... yes...." He stuttered finally. His cheeks grew hot with embarrassment. "I'm looking for the Elder of this village...." Inwardly, Jao winced. He was always an utter mess around women.

Seeing him jump a litte, she instantly felt embarassed and apoligetic. She hadn't wanted to surprise him, but she always seemed to have that effect on people. The reason was never clear to her. She assumed it was because of the peculiar marking on her cheek, or her vibrant orange eyes, or maybe the fact that she just seemed so much different from the rest of the kindly, down to earth elves. Never had it even crossed her mind that beauty might be the reason for such surprise in her presence. His stare made her wish she'd just kept walking, and the slightly uncomfortable silence stretched on. Her mind scrambled to remember if she'd said the wrong thing out loud, and she couldn't think of anything else to say that would mend it. She even touched her hand to her cheek, wondering if there was something on her face. At almost the same time as his, her cheeks flushed with faint color. Emmia wasn't usually so embarassed by this, but when she witnessed his eyes shifting color as well, she couldn't help but admit to herself her panic at why he stared like he did. When an answer finally stumbled from his mouth, she was a bit relieved he hadn't told her of some odd piece of food sweared across her face. In fact, she was a bit surprised that this very statment wasn't the first thing he said. "Oh." she said simply, honestly shocked. "May I ask why? It is a bit late, you see, and being a guardian of this village I'm afriad it is my job to know." She'd asked a bit bluntly, but really she was using the whole 'guardian' bit just so she could know why this odd elf was about at this time of night. Of course, now she was embarassed at being so nosey, and she felt the heat rise in her face once more.
((To kill the chance of confusion I've changed Emmia's post color. Hopefully that should make it a bit easier. whee ))

Terra leaned back onto her hands, her knees bent with her legs curved to the side against the floor. Her exhaustion was setting in, and it seemed that neither her new super strength nor her lack of asthma was enough to keep her from the inevitable drain that was today. She decided then and there, as she gazed off into space, that today was the first day of a new life. Whether they were able to get home or not, she knew that when all of this was over, there was no way that she was going to be the same person anymore. She grinned, looking back at Luke for a moment and giving him a bright smile. She hoped it was the best one she could manage through her tiredness. She leaned forward, sitting normally again as she turned towards the pile of Wolf's Tears that Haylin had brought for their group. She picked one from the stack and turned it in her hands before taking a small bite. Content, she kept nibbling as she took the time to actually look at what she was wearing. Her hair was down, as she prefurred it to be. That was good, she thought. But as she brushed her fingers through it, she realized she now had layers. Not only that, but it was actually staying in place, and soft too. Her black corsette clung tightly to her torso, emphasizing her hour glass figure. Plus, it cut off just at the right place to show off her trim stomach. Now that she was looking a bit closer, however, she could actually appreciate the elegant design of swirls that added a special something to the, surprisingly comfortable, yet snug, material of her outfit. The bottoms, however, were simply unacceptable. Practically non existant, and exposing her legs completely. 'No wonder Luke found it so easy to stare, there's no hiding in this get up!!' she thought with a slight pout in her lip. As she'd examined her outfit, she had managed to finish off the Wolf's Tear, satisfied to have something in her stomach.
Terra was indeed tired, no doubt about that, but she didn't want to take one of the blankets when there was a chance they weren't going to have enough for everyone. Terra didn't want to leave someone else without comfort, whether Emmia was to return soon or not. So she just sat, making herself comfortable, waiting for the arrival of the other blankets. At least she felt safe here, in Lae's house. She was surrounded by people she knew, who were all going through relatively the same thing as her. But still, there was a snag of longing in her heart for her home. Her family, and her bed. As her mind continued to wander, she eventually found herself lying down, still close to Haylin, Luke, and Jeni. Not long after that, she fell asleep, curled up on the hard floor and shivering a little since she hadn't gone for a blanket. Her dreams were starting to whisk her away quickly, her mind taking her far beyond the tree home.
((Kinda long and random, but you might as well read it, just to know what Terra's doing.))

((good thinking smile ))
"No, no, of course! Perfectly understandable. That's alright. I don't mind at all!" Jao rambled stupidly. Again he winced on the inside, even as he continud to grin and blush like a moron. What was wrong with him?! It was like some foreign being had taken hold of his mouth. Shut up, Jao cursed at himself, bad enough your Shalondian, now she thinks you're slow! Slow and dark. Perfect. "I was passing through your village... and wanted to pay my respects to the head...." He said outloud. His eyes and face were both now a brilliant scarlett. Desperately, Jao wished for the earth to swallow him whole. No such luck.

Marael smiled to herself as the humans one by one settled down to sleep. She got up and walked over to the window, staring out it thoughtfully. She, too, was tired but her mind was still whirling with all the events of what she thought was going to be an ordinary day. Thanks Gabe. She thought, with a smile, looking around at the humans. She gave a heavy sigh and started unbuckling her sword bandolieers, placing them within easy reach. She likewise took off the dagger at her belt and the bow and arrows she never used. Quietly pulling a chair out from a nearby table, she sat down on it, resting her arms on the back of the chair. She didn't want to go to sleep until Gabe came back, which wouldn't be for a good hour or two at the least. She rested her head on her hands and relaxed for the first time all day, telling herself that they were safe. There was nothing here that would harm them.
She rested a foot on the rung of the chair, and a bootknife could just be seen inside it.
((Yeah, like everyone else I'm bored and nothing really happened...sorry everybody!))

(ooc - I hate it when my internet breaks)
Jeni moved into the main room and gladly took a blanket, she heard some of the other girls talk about their lack of clothes and silently agreed. She found a spot slightly away from the group and settled down, leaning on the wall. She wrapped the blanket round her, and waited for the others to go to sleep, she hated being the the first to sleep, it was just her way. She rubbed the area of her head which had collided with Ichnel, it was getting quite sore, she'd have to make it seem like nothing when the others saw the bruise that would no doubt form.

Emmia nodded, thinking to herself. It sounded like a good enough story. He seemed so nervous around her that some might take it as suspicious, but she thought of it more as he was too nervous to lie. She almost felt bad for him as she watched the steady build of color in his face. She smiled up at him warmly, trying to reassure him. "Hm... well, I do believe you. However I think, what with recent events that have surfaced here in Bredia, it might be a better idea to wait until morning. I am deeply sorry, but it's been a bit of a hectic day in the city." she said, thinking of the humans that were all still waiting at Lae's house. She couldn't help but think that Lae might be angry with her if she took too long with retreiving the extra blankets. But then, another thought occured to her and there was no stopping her words once they passed her lips. "Have you a place to stay the night?" she asked, not even taking a moment to think about the question. But she had to know, or else she would take it as her own responsibility if this poor elf was to be left in the night without shelter. He was, without a doubt, a foreigner here. The darkness in his glossy hair and shadowed eyes seemed to give that away.

Jao blanched. A place to stay the night? Was she implying.... that he... and she... the elf couldn't even finish such a thought. "Me?! Oh yes, well I, no, I mean... it's fine, really, I couldn't possibly..." He stuttered helplessly, waving his hands in the air and shaking his head. "I can find my own way. Thank you! Ha ha..." Jao laughed weakly. He slowly began to back up, hoping to everything divine she wouldn't push the matter. Because if she did, he was sunk. He'd never been able to say no to a woman in his entire two hundred and four summers. Especially one of such rare beauty and presence.

Luke simply grins at Haylin's response. Upon her getting up, he moves to sit with his elbows on his knees. His head drops as he takes in the events of the day. That's when it really hits him...she said they would be...tested for magic...Luke's head lifts and as does his right hand. He stares at his palm a minute thinking about the elf that had lit her own hand a flame before. Can I really do something like that? His mind races just before Terra catches his attention. In response to her smile, he finds himself grinning ear to ear, his usual goofy grin. After Haylin returns to nibble on her food, Luke reaches out and lightly plucks one from her. With a thankful smile, he leans back against the stairs and lifts his arm to eat. Nibble? Everyone else nibbles...>.> Luke is not a nibbler. He takes his usual big bites until it's gone. "Wow. That was actually quite filling." His eyes drift to Lae, asleep in her bed. Hm. I guess elves really are trusting. He leans further back, allowing his hands to slip behind his head. His body still emits a comfortable heat. He barely even notices it anymore. He stares at the ceiling, taking in the night of this place. Finally realizing Valerye had spoken, and finally comprehending what she said, he closes his eyes. "Well, considering there's two suns here...I doubt it."

Several undisturbed moments of silence passed by as the group settled down, all getting comfortable. When at last it seemed like nothing else was to happen, something scratched at the door. It was a fierce movement by the sound of it. Like claws digging into worn wood. The noise seemed to build as whatever was on the other side of the aged tree-home door was getting more and more anxious to get inside. There was a shrill sort of whining piercing the night air as well. High-pitched, but falling through the minor scale tragically. After a few long moments of these peculiar noises, the door finally clicked and slowly opened, leaving enough space for a wet, black nose to appear within the crevice. The owner of the nose quickly followed until the face of a snow-white wolf was peeking around the door. The wolf was sniffing the air frantically, but looked quite content with himself for having opened the door without help or opposable thumbs. Noren cautiously entered the main room of the small house, his illuminated crystal blue eyes passing over the room in a quick glance. His eyes caught on Marael, and the wolf seemed to tense up before bowing his head slightly to her and moving on. He seemed to search through the bodies of sleeping humans until he found the one he was looking for. His piercing gaze softened as he looked at her, wagging his bushy white tail. Seeing Terra tremble, he immediately went to her and lay as close as he could, trying to warm her with his soft coat. He eyed Luke suspiciously with a sort of growl in his throat. Noren didn't like him anywhere near Terra, or any of the girls for that matter. The wolf rested his head on Terra's shoulder, protectively, still watching the room with his blue eyes all a glow.
Feeling warmth through her sleep, Terra snuggled closer to Noren, his image being planted in her dreams.

Marael jumped slightly as Noren opened the door. She turned to watch him walk in. He paused as he saw her and tensed. Marael's hand casually inched towards her bootknife, when he surprisingly nodded to her before making his way carefully among the sleeping humans. He found Terra and settled down.
A silver flash of a knife danced across the room as Noren growled low in his throat at Luke. He settled down, and Marael glared at the wolf. She didn't trust it at all. She gave a soft sigh and another flash of silver danced around the dark room as she put up the small knife again. Marael got up and walked to the door a moment later. She paused, looking fruitlessly for Gabe before softly shutting it and resuming her watch out the window.

Luke, not yet asleep, lifts his head slightly at the wolf. At first, he's a bit freaked out about the groul, but when it rests its head on Terra, he grins. Ah. I don't blame you, my friend. With that, he forces himself silently up and grabs his things, trying not to disturb anyone who might be already asleep, and moving up the stairs further before sitting back down and leaning back again. He laughs quietly at the wolf again before humming a tune similar to one from before. It's a quiet, soft, and loving melody. His eyes close as his hands find their way back to his head again...

Jeni was sat quietly, watching the exchanges, she saw how the wolf, Noren acted around luke, and considered how Gabe reacted, while she knew she could trust Luke, she prefered Noren, he had a bit more sense than Gabe. Jeni shifted position slightly, and saw most of th group had fallen asleep. Luke was whistling some annoying tune, she hoped he wouldd doze off soon, she was unsure how much whistling she could take.

((HA! Lol, I'm an idiot. Here I am wondering why chewylove hasn't posted, only to realize that it's because I haven't replied to the last post.... wow... just look away! Nothing to see!! Just Iesumi being stupid...))
At first she was confused as to what his answer really was. It didn't click that Jao assumed she meant staying in her house with only the two of them there. Emmia was thinking of the tree home full of humans that already housed two other elven women, plus herself. Finally it dawned on her what her implications could have meant. She almost laughed aloud at her own ignorance, but simply grinned while the color in her face darkened slightly. She watched Jao's frantic dismissal of her question, finding his antics almost amusing. Was he really that scared of her? "Oh, well if you're sure. I mean, I have a dear friend that might be able to help you." she said, rushing through her words faster than she'd originally intended."I think he was planning for a visit to the Head Elf anyhow. I'm sure that he would be delighted to have more company." she added with a soft smile. Lae would surely get on to her about this. Of course Emmia never meant to burden others, but this would be the second time today that Emmia had found someone in need, only to try and hand them off to someone else. But this was not truly the case. No, Emmia was just a caring person. She couldn't stand to see anyone in need without doing her best to help them. Even if it meant she was simply finding someone else who might be able to help them more than she could. The elf smiled again, a sincere smile that radiated how much she really did want to aid him.
