Shinta continued scratching the back of head sheepishly, but there was a certain sad knowingness to his smile. "Being a wanderer tends to do that, doesn't it?"

Yes.*sighs*But other things do that too.*A far away look crosses her faces and her smile disappears, like the sun behind a cloud.((I'm going to be gone for about a week or so, starting tomorrow. I'll be in the Western Caribbean.))

Tetsuko walked in, for once, quiet and thinking. The pagoda didn't seem right with out Cole. He was like a big brother to her. And now Hiru was here. She shook her head. How am i going to do this? She asked herself. She looked up and saw the new girl with her dark wings. "Hey," she said, walking over and half smiling. She looked around at the crowd. "Hope I'm not interrupting," she said. She turned her attention to the girl with bat like wings. "You new here?"

Reaching out his hand to her, he gestured the woman to sit down at the table. "Relax while I go make some tea." Shinta noticed the newcomer. "Greetings. Would you like some tea also?" Without waiting for an answer, the swordsman turned towards the cupboard and began looking for the kettle. ((I have decided that when Shinta is nervous, he likes to drink tea. wink )

Yah...I'm a bit new. I've been here for about a week or two now.*bows with her hand over her heart, again*I'm Mariana.*to Shinta*Tea would be wonderful.

Shinta walked back with a pot of boiling hot tea and a tray of teacups.
"Here it is." Examining the texture of Mariana's wings, Shinta added, "Perhaps Travis-san could be of some help?"

Dyanel looked at Shinta curiously then back at who he was addressing. She felt a bit lost in the kitchen now and she looked to Natsuko.
"Shinta's a very nice man," she said to her.
Dyanel knew Shinta would hear, but she didn't care for once about things like that. She just wanted to be herself and with spirits she found it easier to be.

Natsuko slowly smiled and nodded. She wasn't used to being spoken to. Finally she replied, "He's loosened up quite a bit over the years..."
Shinta only raised an eyebrow, listening.

Dyanel looked at Natsuko curiously. She could understand why people loosened up. Humans didn't like to be alone. She didn't like it either so she wondered if this was just how souls were.
"Natsuko, do you think it's safe to safe to say that any soul doesn't like to be lonely? I mean, no matter where or what we do in life we always end up wishing someone was there with us." Dyanel stated picking up a cookie from the counter.
After, Cheebs picked up his head and looked around. He stretched out and padded his way over to Shinta and flapped his wings to end up landing on his shoulder. He nuzzled him and curled up again yawning into another sleep.
Dyanel saw this and smiled a bit. "Natsuko you are a very lucky soul to have Shinta, I wish I could find the one who'd be willing to stay by me." Dyanel remarked taking a bite of her cookie and chewing slowly.

Shinta looked at Dyanel open-mouthed, rendered speechless by emotion.
But Natsuko only smiled, softly and sadly, then went to stand behind her former lover, her ghostly arms wrapped around his shoulders. She laughed--a soft chiming sound--as the little keros came to rest on Shinta's shoulder. "He needed me." She said simply. "And I needed him."
Shinta nodded, his face now taking on a peaceful air. "We wish you happiness Dyanel-dono."

Dyanel smiled slightly and sighed.
"Thank you Shinta," She said walking over and kissing him on the cheek. She picked up Cheebs and held him close to her. She looked like a little girl like this as she reached for another cookie.

Shinta blushed, his smile turning to a goofy expression. "Ano...you are very kind also Miss Dy." Shinta's face grew more serious. "It seems strange to this one that you have no husband or children. An anomaly...if you will."
Natsuko growled. "There you go again..."

Dyanel scrunched her nose.
"Actually I'm quite agreed. I think it might be because my parents never married. I don't know," she said sighing.

Shinta and Natsuko responded with quickly suppressed reactions of disapproval--a result of their traditional Japanese upbringings.
Shinta bowed his head. "This one is sorry..."
Natsuko, on the other hand, looked at Dyanel with fire in her eyes. "So that's why you let that man claim you and then just walk away? Because you think it's normal? I tell you it's not. Real love is about commitment."
