"Um... I've heard that before, a long time ago." Vanessa said, quietly. Then she smiled. "I have no clue... It's not possible?" She said, then laughed.

He laughed. "I just made that up on the spot. Funny you heard it before." Smiling, he nodded to her. "It's possible. Think about it. How can it be an opposite time only one mile away?"

The subway car was just as deserted as the station had been. Haucon took a quick look at the map, before choosing a seat, the 4th St. station was 2 stops from the end of the line. Might as well take it all the way. he thought. I haven't checked the last station yet.
Ignoring the "No Smoking" sign, he fished his pack of cigarettes from his pocket again. That was another thing humans had gotten right. He looked around the car. There was a mother and daughter pair at the other end, the daughter looked to be about 10 by human count. The mother was giving Haucon furtive looks, and for a minute he thought she could see his wings, before he noticed that her gaze was directed to the cigarettes in his hand. He sighed and slipped them back into his pocket. He could wait. He held his empty hands up in a conciliatory fashion to the mother, who smiled in return. Had I been in the Sacred Realm, that never would've happened. he thought sighing again.
The train jolted to a stop. "Museum Ave...Museum Ave...This train continues out of the city to Victory Beach." the loudspeaker barked in the crackly voice of an elderly woman who had probably smoked far too much in her lifetime. The mother and daughter pair stood up and holding hands disappeared through the sliding doors. Haucon watched them go, cracking his knuckles, to release some tension. He'd checked the Museum Ave station twice before for cracks that might send him back to the Sacred Realm, but the more he stayed the less he cared that he was stuck here. He'd never made it out to Victory Beach though.
No one else got on, and the train shivered and shook its way forward through the dark tunnels. He had to think of a way to check the tunnels some time...A bomb threat? No there'd be police all over then. An electrical failure? Yeah that'd work. He'd be safe from the shock of the tracks then too. Now he'd just have to plan, that is of course if Victory Beach didn't pan out. The train stopped again. "Victory Beach. Last stop. Victory Beach. End of the Line." came that crackly voice again. Haucon stood and stepped out into the underground station. He looked around stepping on all the cracks he could find and running his hands along the walls. Nothing. He sighed and climbed the stairs.
It was raining much harder here, more a rain as opposed to the fog drizzle back in the city. He looked behind him, at this ruin of a suburb town, and the city in the distance. Haucon vaulted over a wind fence, and his feet landed in damp sand. His heavy boots cut their way through as he made his way to the water, looking this way and that.

((Oh dear lord the speed!!!! @_@ This is what I get for studying too much)) Leila remained silent after Vanessa's question, glancing at Violet who obviously knew what her powers were, and continued to remain so even after Vanessa had returned wearing a new dress. It seemed to be quite pretty, a dress that would make any young girl jealous. Thinking on Dream's question, Leila couldn't think of the answer no matter how hard she tried. Riddles and mind games weren't her forte, obviously.

"Nice guess." He laughed again. "Want the answer?"
He sensed someone approaching in the distance, and decided to let them be for now.

Haucon looked for some shelter, he didn't much mind the rain, but he wanted to sit and think a bit. He looked up and down the beach eyes lighting on a rock overhang a little distance away. Better than nowhere...he thought kicking his way along the debris that had washed up from high tide. So let's see, the police are never in the subway really, so that means I don't have to worry to much about them, I just gotta find the circuit board somewhere... he said to himself.

Leila closed her eyes, pretending to be deep in thought, but she had sensed someone out on the beach as well. It couldn't be the fat man. She twiddled her thumbs as if pondering the answer to Dream's question further, but she was really projecting an image of herself out onto the beach to see who it was exactly. The vision of the mirage began behind the person, running away from her position. Huh....some straggler maybe... The mirage silently took off after him, leaving no footprints in the sand.

Something was strange. Haucon stopped in his tracks. Something felt weird, it felt like a leak, the electric coppery feeling of magic was all around him. He looked over his shoulder, there was a girl running toward him. She's not human. he told himself, And until I know what she is... he thought digging into one of his pockets and grasping the hilt of one of his knives. As she approached he noticed he could half see through her. He relaxed his grip on the knife and grabbed his pack of cigarettes instead. He put one to his mouth and moved to circle around her. She had dark skin, and white hair, a strange combination at her age. "And you are?" he asked, looking her up and down. "Not real by my guess. But where is your master, little puppet?" he asked, raising one eyebrow.

The image of Leila stopped; this person couldn't be a normal human if he had detected her. Seeing him go for his knives, she was about to shout in defence but stopped when she saw his grip loosen. "I mean you no harm, sir. I was merely investigating to see if you were friend or foe. My name is simply Leila, but I wish not to give you my position until I am sure you possess no ill intentions." The mirage tried smiling a bit to look friendly, her hands in front of her to show she possessed no weapons.

"Haucon." he said. "Pleased to meet you." he added on the end, extending a hand to the mirage. "Sorry I overreacted there...I've been stuck here a bit too long, and haven't felt that much magic at once in quite a while." he said, snapping his fingers to light the cigarette. In truth, it'd been so long since he'd been near so much magic that it was making him a little light headed. "Er...do you mind...well telling me where to go and then going on your merry way? You're blurring on your edges and it's giving me a headache." he said taking a drag on the cigarette.

The image looked down at his hand, but didn't shake it; it would've been useless since it would've gone right through it. She watched as he lit his cigarette, repeating his name in her head. The way he said it was intriguing; she had never heard an accent like his before. The piercings also seemed a bit strange on him, like they didn't fit him. Her mind returned when he asked a question. "I'm...sorry? I..don't know where it is you want to go. Or do you seek shelter from the rain you mean?" The mirage neared him a bit, a gesture she hoped he would not take as an offence. Leila herself felt strange looking at him; it was...different. She didn't know what he was, but something inside her wanted to find out.

Haucon shivered and shook his head to demonstrate how drenched he was. "Yeah out of the rain is a pretty good start." He said, amazed his cigarette was even still lit, the rain was getting harder, which was kind of funny to watch as they fell through the mirage. "Pardon my asking...but what are you? Or rather who's controlling you?" he asked feeling a bit rude, but surprised enough that it didn't matter.

Her own face in embarrassment, realizing she hadn't answered his earlier question. "Head towards the cave over there," she pointed, "and I will explain along the way," she replied, heading in the direction she just mentioned. "What you see in a mirage of myself, so when you enter the cave, I will look exactly the same as what is in front of you. But more solid, of course." For some strange reason, she was walking more erect than she used to, taking more pride in her appearance. "I am a demon...a succubus to be exact." A pang of disappointment hinted in her voice, both because she hated admitted it and she didn't know how he was going to react to it. "In the cave are other occupants, of which they will introduce themselves to you once you arrive. I am not sure it is my place to tell you who they are." To Dream, Vanessa and Violet, Leila seemed like she was asleep sitting up, but with a bright red blush on her face.
