And even if you aren't the prettiest thing ever, being that you're a supa-jinyuss evens it out.

oooooh.... eek Henna AKA ħinnā' AKA حِنّاء (Arabic) I remember my grandad's house in Sudan had a couple of henna trees in the front yard. They were always swarming with all kinds of colorful beetles. Whenever you were to enter from the front door, a strong smell of henna hit you... Ah! To be a little kid again... smile

Interestingly, Sudane and Ethiopia share a lot of history, and culture but the biggest differance between Arab Sudanese, and Amharic Ethiopians is language (Arabic in Sudan and Amharic in Ethiopia). There are minorities of each who live on both sides of the border. However, I think that Ethiopian immigrants outnumber the Sudanese. So, a lot of times (especially here in the East Coast), people come up to me and start small talk in Amharic (I only know a few words, but that is it) xp . An ol' Chinese classmate of mine complained herself that a lot of people came up to her speaking Korean thinking she was Korean probably because the Korean minority in our county is rather big... Interesting... Interestingly though, my uncle is fluent in Amharic because he worked for the Sudanese Embasy there sometime before the country's last military coup (sometime around '83). I think Amharic is the second most spoken Semitic language in the world (and it only outnumbers Hebrew by a small number). Ah! Yes my friend, we are a cooler minority (who can better manipulate their eyebrows).
