No worries, friend. Just trying to help out. One more informed user is less hassle later.

That zonealarm is paying off already! Wo-ho! I think it's actually giving my comp a bit of a kick in the pants too.

Good to hear it Naito. ^_^ Anything else I can do for you? Rant about Metroid: Echoes maybe?

Oh, please do! Ever since the newest commercial has come out for it my reaction the the game has been more like "hmmm" instead of my usual "eh". I may actually give this one a go. Of course with all the other titles I need to get it may be awhile before I check it out. ^^;

Oh, time isn't really an issue. Just as long as you try it.

When I first turned it on, I was greeted by familiar, yet modified music, and a lovely title screen akin to MP. The menus are done in a much different style- a single point with branches upon branches of options and data. When you sacn something like Pirate Data, it tells you what percentage of data you've scanned, and more specifically, how much of that type of data. (i.e. Pirate Data, Chozo Lore.)

Samus' initial mission sends her imediately into a plot that's reminiscent of Starsip Troopers, and quickly thickens into something much more. The music and environments add to the game to give you the sense that you are alone; the way it should be in Metroid games. The native creatures attack, as usual, but then suddenly something comes out of nowhere and attacks the creatures, taking over their bodies and directing them once more towards Samus.

Enemies swarm whenever they can, and when they're alone, the smaller creatures tend to hang back and wait for an opening. I spent a couple mintues at one point staring down a lone War Wasp. It attacked only when I wasn't facing it. The sentry guns, wherever there are any still active, will attack anything. I entered one room in time to watch one gun annihilate a small pack of little bug-creatures.

The story is spread out everywhere in the form of scannable objects, like MP, but each type of data has it's own style. The federation troopers are given their own personalities, including one sceptic trooper who believes Samus to be nothing more than a myth, and another one that simply goes mad.

This was a rant, as you can see, and I apologize if everything is unorganized and all over the place. I haven't played much yet, so there is still much more for me to explore and experience. ^____^

Wow sounds much more indeph than the Metroid games I remember! Sounds like Nintendo really put alot of work into trying to out do Halo in this one.

Wow, that does sound really awsome, its too bad that Metroid was much more of an action title than an FPS... I think the real Compition for halo2 is gonna be half life 2 this week..

What is half-life? A FPS or 3rd? *never played the original*

Half-Life is fps. And while not caring much for fps, I would really like to try HL2. It certainly seems as though it would be more popular. Problem is, the system requirements for HL2 are quite high, while H2 is playable directly off the disc on the Box.. But does Halo 2 have a weapon that lets you shoot anything within your line of sight at opponents? Nope.

That sounds n34t! There were a bunch of things they cut out of halo2, because they said, it made the gameplay too unfair, and too unlike the original.. sweatdrop

No gun that shoots....O.o

Ah well I've always been a heavy arms/ explosions guy anyways. Why aim when you can just set 1/3 of the stage ablaze with remote mines?

Mmm, yeah.. Explosions are good too.. That's why you find a nice, flammable barrel and lob it at your enemy. Another wonderful tool was a container full of ravenous alien bugs that you could throw at people. I wonder if they put those things in HL2.

Edit: Btw, I checked out Metroid: Echoes' multiplayer mode. Very nice.. And the first soundtrack you get to play to is a massively remixed Brinstar from Super Metroid. ^___^

Aww.. Well, on the bright side, Unhinged is out. I picked up some boosters, and one of my rares was "Avatar of Me". It has a power equal to my height, toughness equal to my shoe size, and it's colour is equal to the colour of my eyes. ^_^ Great fun. Still looking for the Greater Morphling.. And also Urza's Hottub.
