How could falling asleep on the hard deck of an airship be the best sleep he's ever had? It was beyond this warrior, but he was grateful he had been given such a refreshing and peaceful sleep. So, with D already jumping over the barrier and falling towards the island, obviously with his own method of not hitting the ground at speed, Ruuvan was left with little to do but get his gear and follow suit off the front of the ship.
"Thanks again for the lift." It was at this point that his mind drifted back to the cheque at the docks, which would take a considerable time to clear, so Ruu would have to phone his bank and have the item cancelled; a kick in the nuts to the annoying dock master he had the encounter with, but at least it would be a small victory.

So, with the black duffel bag and case strapped to his back, the bow in his hands and a plain arrow notched, Ruuvan took a running start to the same place D jumped off and leapt into the air. Now, most people would like an assurance they wouldn't die from a fall, be it a parachute or being strapped to someone who knew what they were doing, but Ruu had to place his trust in a bow he had obvious strong ties with; so on reflection, about a safety measure being strapped to someone, Ruu had his own little lifesaver in his hands.
"Here's to hoping it's not a rough landing." Even though the wind resistance stopped him from smiling, what with the skin being pulled back onto his face, an internal smile would show to the Bow as they came closer to the island. Ruuvan drew back the string and aimed towards the spot of ground they were heading towards - 'they' being him and the bow - as he mentally measured the time before they hit the ground.

Not long now, the ground was getting closer and the clouds had long since been passed. It was almost show time. Almost... not yet... what day was it again? Now! Ruu released the string and watched was the arrow flew towards the ground, waiting for the bright flash of green to come before the magic wind came to stop his descent; this life was in her hands now and he trusted her with it too.

::Free falling was not flying, and D was infact free falling. At first he flailed his arms around wildly causing him to flip and flap around rather chaoticly, but from his laughter he seemed to love it. It took a few seconds but soon he learned to use his body as a kite. He kept his arms and legs out at either side in order to semi glide. This was by no means flying and the impact would still have been fatal, but the drag from his baggy clothes, and his lighter weight would soon cause him to begin floating above Ruuvan. Which is to say that he was falling at the same speed, but above Ruuvan, even though he jumped first.

This would be followed by several flips and turns and Ruuvan being treated to the sight of a boy with his legs beside each other and his arms folded across his chest, like a torpedo zooming past him at rediculous speeds and poofing into a cloud.

What was most odd was the sound of loud crackling as Ruuvan himself entered the cloud and as he exited...D was nowhere to be seen. There was no sight of him, or his body on the ground, or, any big obvious splashes in the ocean.::

Ruuvan
Almost... not yet... what day was it again? Now!

::That moment. That irreplacable split second timing, only, indeed only, possible to the hardest of warriors. It had to be beyond thought, it was training, it was instinct. It was now. Ruuvan pulled his bowstring back and...

Darkness.

Ruuvan would likely notice a very dark shadow hovering just above and behind him...and getting closer. It is a sad truth, but the advanced hearing provided to the elven race, works two ways. They are gifted with the wonderful ability to hear even the smallest sounds in the farthest distances...this also means that the louder, closer, sounds are far more powerful. Like the vicious and powerful gust of air rising up around Ruuvan, or rather air rushing past his ear as he falls through it.

His intense skill as an archer, and a sniper would train him to drown out any outside noise in aiming his shot but...this was more than that. If Ruuvan were to look up, he would see that their were infact 4 very large crates falling directly beside him, and one of them, was just about a foot away from smashing into his back. Though it was impossible to tell without actually being hit by it, the box did wieght a good 2400lbs...and it was hurdling down at Ruuvan. Granted, he had the room to dodge...but did he have the time to line up another shot...?

It seemed the Captain had the last laugh, as he had let the cargo go, directly on Ruuvan and D's heads! Speaking of which...where was D?! What's a hero to do, to keep from becoming a stain?!::

With D vanishing into a cloud of black smoke and a crate now aiming to fall on top of him, Ruuvan was left with little option but to fend for himself for the time being. He had seen D take out a room of Salamander lizards and a huge dragon, so he figured he could take care of himself, but that didn't stop the crate.

So, seeing as he was still falling to the same place he fired the arrow and was going the same speed, meaning he'd land there as intended, the only thing he had to do was switch positions between himself and the crate. Shifting his weight to his right and opening his arms slightly, Ruuvan twisted in the air to face the crate and drifted towards it. Once he felt the wood brushing against his hands, he quickly grabbed onto the sides of the object and pulled himself around to the side and then onto the top, turning the crate into a mid-air ledge of sorts. Now he had the high ground, not to mention being able to maintain the direction of the crate by shifting the weight on it, Ruu didn't have to do anything besides aim for the location the arrow was about to impact and bring himself, plus the crate, safely to the ground. Once again, it was all in her hands.

Marissa's last action
Quote:
thank you for your advice and the food. Both have been quite helpful. I will go to my room now, for I'm sure Lanhy has been looking for me. Again, thank you. ::she leaves a goes searching for Lanhy::

::She found Lanhy on the 2nd floor in front of their doors, curled up in a small ball (which is quite easy for a wolf to do). She wakes Lanhy up and gives him the key, telling him that she is going to be sharing the room furthest from the captain with Lanhy. Lanhy agrees and lays back down, this time on top of the key. With the smile back on her lips she goes searching for Mackey, heading up to the deck where she last saw him. He is still there, looking out at the ocean and the reflection of Luna's light upon the silver ocean. Oh what a beautiful, but deadly sight. It reminded her of the photographs she had seen of gorgeous green lakes that were caused by chemicals dumped in them. Both breathtaking and reminders of the plagues that can hide under beauty. She silently walks up next to Mackey, taking out the orange crystaline bracelet; drapes her arms over the rail and plays with the crystal beads.::

::There was of course, the expected moment of silence. One crack on the egg shell does not necessarily define a hatching, and Mackey heart was locked in quite a shell. But after a few moments of staring into the silvery ocean below, Mackey spoke.

His voice was just as before, calm, steady, saddened. And just as before, his eyes layed locked on the ocean below as he spoke.::

Its getting late, shouldnt you be going to bed?

::cocks an eyebrow and a slight sarcastic/questioning tone:: Adopting my father's duties now, are we? ::smiles at the end:: You remind me a lot of my teacher back home. ::Looks right at him, knowing he can tell out of the corner of his eye:: Do you ever give into the rage that overcomes you? Do you ever cry out all of your frustration to the moon and sun? Have you ever let yourself ride an emotion to the end? Have you ever let yourself let go? ::this last sentence barely above a whisper and spoken with great reverance as she looks back out to the moon::

::As expected his responce was silence. He said what he did less out of a desire to care for her resting needs, and more for a desire to be alone. Yes, he knew she was looking at him, but he wouldnt turn to face her. She asked question followed by endearing question, that harmless veil of curiousity in her voice. A veil he could easily see through. He didnt answer each question, as they all came from the same vien he instead only answered the last, as a whole to encompass the rest. It was a calm answer but as he spoke his head snapped to looking Marissa dead in the eye. There was a look of absolution across his face as he spoke.::

No.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 22, 2006 11:32 am

Pity. Not all emotions are bad. True, to let the rush of anger and pain rush down an unhindered path is not the best of things to do; but to keep it all locked up is just as bad. I'm stubborn, and I usually bash by head against the walls longer than most will; but I do stop myself before death. I will leave you alone and I won't bother you anymore. Go about your duties as a faithful and honor-bound one and I will undo my actions. Just remember that I will be here for only so long. ::she sighs and it is filled with sorrow and disappointment. she looks at Mackey one last time and turns to walk farther down the deck railing::

::And as she turned to walk away, so did he. He was quiet, no words, he just stepped away and made his way down the steps and quietly went to his, and too bed. No words.::

::she waits about 10 minutes, giving Mackey plenty of time to get to his room and then she walks down the stairs; destination is the fifth floor. She has to speak to Morpheus before he sends the captain any dreams.::

::And there Morpheus was, a green ball swirled in his hands and a bit of arcane chanting could be heard as she entered the room. There were a few screams heard eminating from the ball, some pleasurable, some violent. He seemed rather busy and actually managed to miss Marissa's entrance this time.::
PostPosted: Wed Mar 22, 2006 12:01 pm

::Vaguely remembering the feelings last time she came in unannounced, she silently backed out of the room. Concentrating on the instincts that all animals are ruled by. Slowly her bones break and mend with lightening speed, hair sprouts and she bends to all fours. After only a few seconds of pain she is in the form of a large panther. She silently stalks the hallways, waiting to see what events her actions will bring about. Slowly she paces her way up to the deck and roames the railings.
After an hour (or two) all the day's activities finally take their toll and she goes into the third door from the captain's, curls up in a ball under the bed and goes to sleep, shifting back to her human form. Her dreams are a jumble of everything that has happened and pieces of old dreams glide easily through her troubled mind.::

::Have you ever had a sleep, a restful peaceful time at which the body was so at peace time seemed to cease being? Marissa's eyes would gently close and it would likely seem as if they had just closed when a request was being made for them to open.

The request was worded as a very loud voice not but 3 rooms over. A voice almost recognizable. It was muffled, but the words were audible.::

No. I'm taking the contract NOW!

::A smash was heard, and a second voice almost chittering could be heard in the background. Even from this distance fear could be heard in it.::

WHOA?! Could you stop breaking things? You know I cant give you that!!

::Smash! Smash! One could swear that there was a girly scream.::

NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!

::Gacking could be heard, like someone being lifted up by their neck and wrung. And a coughing voice spat out a few desperate words.::

F-gack-fine! You dont h-ack-ave to be so ro-ack-ough!

::A loud thump was heard, followed by a series of clicks and the ruffling of paper. A frustrated voice spat back.::

Fine! Here take it! Damn Mackey, when did you become such a beast!?

::There was a moment of silence. And then a calmer, farm more recognizable voice.::

Lets say...an insignificant little voice, told me it was time to wake up and take action...

::This was immediately followed by the loud slam of a large metal door. And footsteps marching off.::
PostPosted: Wed Mar 22, 2006 3:00 pm

::upon waking up to the yelling she scrambled out from underneath the bed and ran to the door to listen more closely. Recognizing Mackey's voice she opens the door quietly (although it really isn't necessary with all the noise Mackey and the Captain were making). When Mackey slammed out of the room Marissa was standing in the hallway, opposite of the Captain's door, a look of true concern on her face::

**Wakes up to the yelling and sits up in bed**

What the he..

Sounds like I slept through something important. Hope it doesn't involve me beating the tar out of that eight armed freak. I suppose that I should go check on Marissa.

**Pulls on his clothing and steps out of his room.**
