Jazz nodded a thanks to the Matriach. "Thanks so much. Well, I hope he is alright. Maybe he will come back if he isn't?" Jazz didn't want to think of a hurt Pae'il walking around along out there somewhere.

Kane made Jazz jump a little. "What happened to you? Same as with the other? Are there others?" Jazz asked as she walked over to him. She looked over to Jr and Takeko who were also with the demon. "You weren't just here were you?" Jazz asked him.

"bruise on his head..." From a fall or someone hit him over the head with something. Most likely someone hit him, else the pae would have stayed. Even as kane appeared and things swelled to disorder, raken kept his head bowed in thought. An idea about who the hurt pae was, and maybe someone who was with him. Maybe. "I'm going back to the marsh, perhaps find the weapon used...probably a rock, stick or peice of metal..." What ever it was, it probably had a few flecks of blood on it as a tall tale sign. Raken thoughtfully started to walk out of the house of healing, not wanting the chaos created to interfere with his ponderings. Again she buried her head into rakens chest, fear rising at the appearance of the injured pae. two? What had happened? Hopefully this all would end soon...

Starry followed Raken, sticking to him was much easier than trying to peice this together with just her and Junior, though he was a big help. "I don't know where one would find metal in the marsh, but it's worth a shot." She said, patting Junior on the way out. "Come on, you'll get left behind. We can come check on him when we get done."

Junior reluctantly followed his mother, it wasn't a good idea to get left behind in this chaos. "I'mn going to need to go home and check on my family soon Starry, just a quick search through the marsh and I gotta go." He said, already walking faster than his mother. He was worried about Ducky and the children.

The Matriach frowned at the arrival of Kane, turning she summoned a few of the Fae to go to him and bring him all the way inside, turning to Takeko she said, "We will make sure he is taken care of..."

The group of Fae took the injured demon into a room of his own.

Jazz watched him being taken away. "I hope he is okay. Good luck Takeko." Jazz touched her shoulder.

"I'm heading the same way all. I didn't stay there long enough, but the mud really got to me." Jazz chuckled and headed out the door. Before she left she said one thing. "If anyone needs my help please let me know."

Takeko had to be pulled away from her long-lost son's body so that the fae could take him to a room. Near tears, her mind raced as to what could have possibly done this to her poor boy. Sure, he'd always been a bit on the wild side, but she thought he could take care of himself. Then again, circumstances hadn't been anything remotely close to normal since this whole incident started.

She sat on her knees for a moment, reaching up to touch Jazz's hand lightly. "Thank you." After the elder left, she climbed to her feet and picked up Melek from a nearby chair where he was watching intently. "I'm going with them to keep an eye on Kane. He's my son and I can't leave him again. I'm sure they have some herbs and plants around here I can use to mix something up for him. If anything else comes up, let me know." She turned, quickly scurrying after the fae carrying Kane.

Seeing as how the group had started to move once again, Ayiana shifted her brother weight once more before turning to follow the others pass what seemded like a wounded demon pae and out of the healing center back towards the mud cover mush. "Hopefully we find what we're searching for soon because it is getting pretty late and I know that mother must really be worried about us by now." She thought to herself as she quickly glanced down at her sleeping brother in her arms before looking back up to contince following the others.

Takeko hoped she wouldn't get in the way, and she certainly didn't plan to, but she wouldn't be kept away from her son either. Especially not her 'firstborn' and in such a vulnerable state. She followed the fae straight into the room, happily noting the plush chair in the corner. She set Melek down, speaking softly. "Mommy needs to look after that poor Pae over there for a little bit, okay, sweetie? Now, you be a good boy and sit here for a bit. If you get tired, you can curl up and take a nap, okay?" He nodded and she smiled warmly, kissing his forehead. The poor dear looked tired already and she was sure that it wouldn't be long before he was long gone back to dreamland.

Returning to the situation at hand, she hurried back to Kane's side, concern visible, not only on her face, but in her very posture. Careful of his claws, still drawn despite his loss of consciousness, she took his hand in hers. If she remembered correctly from when he was only a child...

She gently pressed her thumbs against the center of his palm and the claws extended fully. Yes, same as when he was a child. And so, in that case... She began massaging his hand gently, watching the claws disappear as the muscles in his hand relaxed.

It was more comfortable here...cooler...drier air. And he wasn't on the ground anymore. That much was for sure. It was still dark though...wait...or was it?

The demon's eyes fluttered open halfway, still completely unfocused. Little lights...buzzing everywhere...all over the place. If he wasn't so weak, he'd have given in to the urge to reach up and swat at one. No, not weak...he couldn't move if he tried. And he'd tried.

Where was he now? He had no idea, but his instincts told him that he was safe here...wherever 'here' was. The last thing he remembered was fleeing from Dragnid, something...some beast chasing him...

"...cat...blades...everywhere...so fast..."

The multiple Fae did their work quickly, cleaning and mending wounds, rubbing slaves, ointments, and several other lotions and potions onto Kane's skin. One forced a vile tasting liquid down Kane's throat, before corking the bottle and fluttering out. As the others finished wrapping up Kane's wounds they too took their leave.

The Matriarch stuck her head in for a moment to make sure all was well in the room, then left to go about other Fallassion House business.

Takeko hadn't even realized she'd let her eyes drift closed until they shot wide open again. His voice was raspy and barely more than a whisper, but she'd heard it...right? Even the Fae were gone now, leaving her alone with Kane and Melek. A glance backward told her that even Melek had dozed off now. How long had she been massaging Kane's hand without realizing it? Had she even dozed off while doing so?

It didn't matter now. What mattered was that Kane spoke...he was alive.

"Kane? Dear, can you hear me?" She frowned, belatedly picking up on what he'd said earlier. Had he been attacked by the same thing that had hurt the other poor Pae'il? But no...their wounds were different. The other Pae'il had been hit with something...Kane's wounds were cuts and gashes, and he mentioned something about 'blades.' This was something else altogether.

The demon coughed weakly at the horrible tasting potion, but swallowed nonetheless. He didn't have the energy to do otherwise.

What about the cat creatures though? He must have gotten away...somehow.

"So fast...poison teeth...heart of Dragnid..."

Though he was awake, his mind was still hazy and his thoughts were flowing out of order.

"Sent...protecting something...must be. A...greater power..."

Likely, most would think he was out of his mind. The thoughts made sense in his head...even if he couldn't voice them out loud completely. He was still too weak. Too numb. It was taking all he had to try and pass the message along to whoever was holding his hand.

"Have to...get back there...find out...what's there...important..."

Takeko made mental notes of each word or phrase she could decipher. While most would take her son's words as the ramblings of a delirious Pae'il, for some reason, she could tell he wasn't as out of it as he seemed. Maybe it was the obvious effort it was taking him to get even these few words out. Maybe it was his overly serious nature as a child. Maybe it was simply the natural instincts a mother had when dealing with her own children. Whatever it was, the angel knew that she needed to pay attention.

"I'm listening, dear...I'm listening..." She murmured softly, reaching up and gently brushing his long hair away from his face. His eyes stared blankly at nothing on the ceiling, as if focused inward on some memory. The poor thing must have been living on his own all this time, out in the forest, she guessed, following only his natural feral nature. While his hair was wild and untamed, if one ignored his current wounds, he seemed well-fed and fit. She had to assume he'd been doing well enough for himself up until this point, however it was he was living.

No, she wasn't listening! He couldn't stay here. Not long! And someone had to get back there, if only to clear the path for HIM to break through and find out what was at the center of that damned forest!

"No...clear...must go...secret! ...important! Have to...get back..."

Putting all of his remaining energy into the act, he squeezed the hand back that held his. His eyes almost seemed to focus for a moment and he blinked a few times at the form to be sure. Yes...it was her...it was her scent...he'd know her anywhere... Had to get her attention somehow...shock her...get her to pay attention and realize what he was saying...

"...please...mom... Help me..."

Four simple words...and Takeko thought her heart would stop in shock. She'd never thought she'd hear those words...not from Kane, at least. She swallowed hard, trying to fight a rush of varying emotions as she nodded slowly. "Okay, we'll let someone know, dear. But you're not going anywhere anytime soon. You have a lot of recovering to do..."

Kane could have smirked...mission complete. Now, to plan his next assault on the forest...

Alaera limped into the building, closely followed by Sylvestanya. Her ankle still throbbed painfully even now and then, and she was hoping that the fay would take a look after it. She'd been uneasy to leave her tree since the whole incident with Kane, and especially when the warning was put up about a pae being attacked and then rumors of the pae later vanishing. And they struggled took place so near the forest too. After her experience she knew it wasn't just a coincidence. She was certain that Dragnid as the source of all the problems. She was scared of the place yet a certain curiosity to uncover what was going on remained. If only they could perhaps get a large force together and get to the bottom of the mystery. Strength in numbers you know. Another shot of pain went through her ankle as she stepped funnily - curse her clumsiness. That was probably why her ankle hadn't wanted to heal properly she kept tripping over herself all the time. She sighed in frustration and her mind drifted off.

Sylvestanya followed Alaera closely keeping her hand out in case her sister needed help. She had been quite eager to accompany Alaera to the healing house, she didn't want her to go alone and something worse happen this time. She hadn't been quite the same since she had come back from Dragnid. But it wasn't just that. Ever since they had heard the news of the attacks, Alaera and Sally had forbidden her and Amethyst to go out on their own. And she worried for Yuki. Her only comfort was she thought Malloren smart enough to keep her brother from doing anything foolish and getting into trouble. But the small fear remained that perhaps he had been the one that was hurt. And so the entire way here she had kept a sharp lookup for the black feline, but she hadn't seen him. She wasn't sure yet whether that was a good thing or a bad thing. She could feel the fear permeating the island though and it made her light headed. Normally she had to be close to a pae to feel their strong emotions, but with so many all at once feeling the same emotions it formed almost a cloud that hung over the island, overwhelming her senses and choking her. She helped Alaera sit down on a chair near the door. "Stay here. I'll go find someone and see if they can help." With that she disappeared down the hallway calling out. But no one approached her and she wondered where everyone was. She started opening all the doors in the hallway, looking inside for help.

Sean scrambled in sometime much later, dragging with him a green mellon. He was fed up with the darn thing, always screeching right when he was about to play a wonderful joke and ruining the fun for him. He knew exactly why the small creature had been turned into what he had come to think of as a "mischief Monitor" but that didn't mean he had to like it! He wanted a refund! Or at least for the silly thing to be fixed. He wasn't sure it could be fixed but maybe he could con someone into it. He looked about and seeing no one called out..."'Lo? Is'n there anybody 'ere? I be thinkin' there might be a somethin' wrong with'n me mellon. " He didn't know where else to go.

The little mellon was skittering about trying to pull away from the leprechaun's grip. It didn't like this, no not at all. It had a job to do and this little munchkin wasn't going to stop it. It let out small screeching sounds, chastising its charge.

Several Fae came to the aid of Alaera as she entered the building, the group helping her to a chair as they fluttered about and checked her injuries. After they got her seated, the applied several salves and potions to her skin, which would dull the pain and soreness some.

"We don't handle that here," One of the Fae said to the child after his deceleration. "In fact, not sure who really handles Mellons really," The Fae scratched his head. "But I can take a look at it if you'd like..." Not like he had anything better to do.

Sylvestanya hadn't noticed the fae come out behind her and tend to Alaera's wounds. She was too busy opening doors looking for someone. To her surprise when she opened the next one, there was someone inside laying down on the bed. "Oh sorry" she said and started to close the door when she stopped. The pae'il on the bed was blue and looked rather like...well...it looked like the pae Alaera had described to them when she came back to the tree a week or so ago. But he was hurt badly, surely this still couldn't be from back then. If so Alaera was more lucky than she realized.

"Kane?" she asked hesitantly.

Alaera watched as the fae fluttered around her. Whatever they were doing worked she thought. Her ankle was already feeling better. She stood, tentatively placing weight on it and when the pain was only mild and bearable she smiled brightly. "Oh thank you ever so much" she exclaimed, wishing she had come here much earlier. But dangerous things had been happening on the island. Her ears caught her sister's hesitant words. Kane? Why would he be here? Unless he went off and got himself into even more trouble. Honestly, he had to be a magnet or something. She walked down the hall to where Sylvestanya stood and peeked inside. It was him! And he looked worse than before if that was possible. She pushed her way inside.

"Kane? Are you alright you look terrible. Who did you try to eat this time?"

Sean clutched his flailing mellon close to him. There was no way he was gonna let this fae take him away if he didn't know what he was doing! And he did not like this guys attitude at all! "There tisn't no body on the isle that tends to da mellons?" he asked suspiciously.

The poor squished mellon let out a rather pleased little squeak. Perhaps the leprechaun was learning to be good.

Takeko started, whirling around in surprise at the unfamiliar voices. She'd been busy with Melek and still debating on where she should go and who she should talk to about what Kane had tried so hard to tell her.

"Excuse me? Do you know my son?" She frowned in confusion, eyes quickly assessing the young ladies. No force in Telrunya could compare with her surprise as she considered the possibility that her son could have made friends afterall...especially with two lovely young ladies such as these.

Though exhausted still, Kane was awake and recognized the second of the voices, if not the first. And her scent...he'd never forget her scent...for various reasons. You didn't forget the scent of someone you'd genuinely tried to hunt down and eat...twice.

One slitted eye opened only the tiniest bit. Just enough that he could glance over at the door. With a weak snort at her question, he smirked, showing he wasn't quite dead yet.

Then attempted to aim an obscene hand gesture at Alaera.

Alaera couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Oh yeah, he'll be fine. Just fine. " She moved closer to him and bent down to examine his injuries. "Went back into Dragnid, didn't you? Bet you just couldn't keep away." She flicked his ear lightly in reproach. "You know, there are people that care about you. Should take them into consideration next time you decide to be stupid. " She shook her head, finally looking up and around the room, not really noticing Takeko before in her concern for Kane.

"Huh? Oh, well yeah I do at least" she said with a curious glance at Sylve. "He tried to eat me a couple times" she grinned, eyes full of laughter. "This is my sister, Sylvestanya. And I'm Alaera. " But her words finally sunk in completely. Her son? She looked back at Kane...no way. Where ever she had imagined the demon had come from, it certainly wasn't this women. Actually, she kinda figured he'd just shown up in the forest somewhere, trying to gnaw off someone's arm.

"You're...you're his mother?" she questioned, a bit confused.

Sylve just watched the scene unfolding in front of her. Kane looked really bad but if he was here, he'd be ok surely. She felt strangely out of place and rather wished she could back out the door and run away.
