Nakoreth prowls the Weyr bowl on foot. He isn't quite comfortable on all fours, and can't quite balance on just two legs like the humans, but that doesn't keep him from inspecting the grounds.
The herdbeasts, stupid things, cower at the far side of their pen as he passes by. I'm not hungry, you silly beasts, Nakoreth thinks at them, knowing they won't hear.
Finally satisfied that there isn't anything unusual lurking, he settles down near the entrance to the lower caverns and dozes.
A tickle in his mind alerts him to Kya's arrival. The rider has a basket with foods, and a basket of fresh glows for their Weyr. Juggling the burdens, K'makin scrambles onto the brown's back and manages to get seated properly. At an unarticulated signal between the pair, Nakoreth hops up into the sky, flapping until he's got enough altitude to glide smoothly to their mid-tier weyr.
Ground access would be nice, K'makin comments to his dragon as they land. Then I wouldn't have to disturb you from your sunning during the daytime. Nakoreth yawns. Kya made similar comments from time to time, but showed no indication of wanting a lower-tier weyr. Of course, most of those were reserved for older dragons who couldn't be as active, and for wingleaders, and of course the weyrwomen. Perhaps Kya just couldn't think of much by way of idle conversation, and felt bad about disturbing the brown.
You don't bother me. Sunning is good, but so is flying. Just us and the sky, and even if it's just for a little bit, flying is still good. And it is dark, so I was not sunning.
Ah, good. His reply has made Kya laugh. After the young man was on the ground, Nakoreth tries to imiate the sound.
"Are you feeling unwell? I haven't heard you cough like that before!" Dropping his baskets, Kya reaches to place his hand on the brown's chest.
I was trying to laugh too. I know I can make the 'chuckle' sound, but that laugh sound is so much happier.
K'makin raises an eyebrow. "Well, it was close. Keep practicing, but don't let the Weyrhealer hear that or she'll come running to find me!" Nakoreth snorts; he wasn't stupid, to make non-dragony sounds where people might hear them.
After Nakoreth's settled on the couch, he closes his eyes and mentally follows K'makin as the rider moves to collect his baskets. After putting the one of food on a stone table, he moves around the Weyr, refreshing the glows, putting the dim ones into his basket to be taken down tomorrow, and then tidying up some small things here and there. Finally he settles down for his meal.
As if summoned by the thought of food, Nimakio appears and lands on K'makin's head, digging in his claws and demanding sustenance.
K'makin curses, and Nakoreth has an opportunity to practice his laugh again.

R'nek let out a deep sigh, eyes closed. He lay on the side of a hill, near the top, sun shining full on his muscular form. His head rest lightly on the side of his dragonet. Famyroth's head lifted, picking up conversation between other dragons. He let out a snort.
"Roth? What's up?"
Riders of females only. They must go to Fort for a meeting. Discussing flights, I believe.
"Ah... I'd hate to be the rider of a green right about now." He chuckled softly and reached over with one hand, pulling the brown's tail across him. He did so love moments like this - real peace could be found in the hills, in the silence... R'nek closed his eyes again.

Aronash "Ahh yes, ofcourse, shivvy got sick." He looked around the room " If you only have to graduate it wont be long until you get a weyr of your own" He smiled as the little gold came gliding in, "You have raised her well, she has a good healthy color". He got a grin on his face "I noticed they were a little jumpy, yes" A'nash shrugged, "Nope, I dont have any flits, I wasn't around when the clutches hatched. I wouldn't mind having one, but I'm afraid I dont have enough time for them" T'thia beamed happily. if Lira was going to rise she could offer one to A'nash. "if you could have one....what color would you want?" she grinned at his comment on time "there's not much to it with time wise. they pretty much come to you when they need somthing and if you don't have the time for it they find someone else. i could help you train it so that if you're too busy it comes to me. chances are i'll be caring for my own trio at the time anyways....." T'thia realised she was rambeling and quickly shut her mouth "sorry, not many people talk with me around here, i tend to run my mouth when given' the chance" she gave A'nash an apologetic grin before absentley stroking Lira's gleaming hide bright with her condition and fresh oil.

A'nash grinned as T'thia apologized, "No worries, I like to listen". He thought for a while, "Well maybe I'll have one, It shouldn't be a big problem, Faramith has grown up really good. So I guess a little fire-lizard should be no problem." he smiled and nodded slowly.

T'thia beamed at his acceptance of her offer. she then glanced around.
"the wyre's gotten so empty latley, everyone's been gone at family gathers for the holidays i suppose"
T'thia gave a small sigh, her family wouldn't gather, not this year, not after what her brother and his friends did. Lira gave a little chirp and disappeared going to sun with her siblings on the ledge with Arizath.

A'nash shrugged, "It seems like it yes, I haven't visited my family in a long time" He looked to the ledge where Faramith sunning. "Ever since hatching, I didn't feel the need to go back"
A'nash looked at T'thia as he saw her sigh, "What's wrong?"

"oh nothing it's just..."
she shook her head and gave a small smile
"nothing, just thinking of my family is all, and wondering when i'll finally graduate and get out of the wyreling barracks."

Niko sighs, and stands up, brushing her plain brown skirt off and heading out of the dining hall, looking around as she leaves. She passes a few people in the hallways, and then comes out into the air, smiling and taking a deep breath in. After that, she looks around for someone she could possibly talk with besides Gyo.

Kya scolds Nimakio once again. The blue terror was trying his very best to take a bath in the klahpot, only to be restrained at the last minute by an order from Nakoreth.
I think if he tasted it, he wouldn't want to swim in it, Nakoreth suggests. K'makin sighs. "Fine, fine," he ladles himself a mug and with one hand gripped tightly--but carefully--around Nimakio's neck, he sits at the end of a long table. Placing first the mug, then the struggling flit, on top of the table, Kya focuses his thoughts and imagines Nimakio taking a drink from the mug.
He gets a flash of ... something... from the flit, it seems like comprehension, so cautiously, Kya releases his grip.
Nimakio hisses at him, mantling his wings, only to be scolded again by Nakoreth. The blue flit settles himself, then inspects the mug of klah. The mug is as large as the flit's body, but Nimakio pays no attention to its size, plunging his little head and half his neck into the murky liquid.
Kya can see the muscles in the flit's neck move as it swallows the klah. His eyes bug out a bit as he watches Nimakio drink the entire mug, then settle back on his haunches to groom his face.
"Just what I needed," Kya mutters, "A flit who needs a morning klah to act civilized."

T'thia's attention was caught by a a struggle at the far end of the table. she looked up at say K'makin with his terror of a blue flit gulping down his Klah. she raised a brow and snagged the pitcher in front of her. she excused herself from A'nash and headed down to the end of the table. setting the pitcher in front of K'makin she sat down "hey, i see he's as much of a terror as always, maybe you should get a docile queen." she smiled brightly at him "Lira's about to rise, perhaps she'll lay a queen or bronze egg, interested in another flit?"

K'makin looks at the girl... ah, T'thia? Yes. "No thanks. This one is quite enough. If I'd known flits were like this, I'd have stayed far away! I can't wait until Nimakio starts finding his own food, and leaves me alone for hours at a time."

T'thia gave a small laugh and a nod of her head
"alright then"
she stood and strode back over to A'nash sitting down with a sigh
"K'makin's flit upset is the most exciting thing happening in the wyre, things are so dull latley"
she rested her elbo on the table and layed her head in her hand propping it in the palm

A'nash laughed as he saw Nimakio, emptying Kya's mug of klah. He smiled as T'thia came walking back and sat down, "Now be careful what you wish for T'thia" His head went eastward as to look for the red star. He thought for a moment.. "Come to think of it.. Its been a long time since the last thread fall"

T'thia's brows knit together as she thought of the last fall
"i hadn't even impressed by then"
she looked in the same direction as A'nash as her voice became distant with thought
"think the pass is over?"
part of her wish it was she knew all of pern needed a break from the deadly menace but part of her wished it wasn't, she wanted so badley to go into battle with the other senior riders and fight against the seering strings.

A'nash looked down at the ground, "No I don't think the pass is over yet" He looked up at T'thia, "Its far from over... enough of sad thoughts" He smiled, "How is Lira's clutch doing?"
