*Maggie looks at him, then the book, then back again, her entire face lighting up in a smile as that realization sinks in* Oh, heavens, I have! Bard, I . . *she laughs, and then flings her arms around him impulsively* Thank ye, for helping me, thank ye so much . . !

*Bard hugs her tightly* You're a good student. I should have started you on something easier, but you managed just fine.
*he pulls away, and produces his fountain pen and a pad of paper from his pocket. Neatly as he can he writes MARGARET DOWLING on the top sheet of paper and slides it over to Maggie*

*Maggie flushes slightly at the praise, but her smile stays fixed in place. She looks down at the piece of paper, curious, as he slides it over, but this particular combination of letters she can recognize easily*

*Maggie studies his face for a long minute. That he wants to teach her son, too . . . that he cares about him, it means more to her than she knows how to say* Bard . . *she leans forward to kiss him again, then pulls back, smiling softly* . . he would love te learn from ye.

'Twould certainly be easier than having te hide ye from e'erybody but Will. *she agrees, looking thoughtful for a moment.* Although I still dinna know how I might explain te people how I know ye and where ye came from . . . *she trails off, pondering that*
