Takiko-chan The Manda Shigi and Hien are now Ziyi and Feiyan. SOME BLOODY HEADS ARE GONNA ROLL! WHO IS THAT TRANSLATOR?! He'll have to read some hate-mail from me. >_> I never imagined that I would be GLAD that I didn't live in the US because of manga. Ziyi... Ziyi... Ziyi... *twitches* Hang on, I'm editing my signature. And I thought Limdo was bad... XD There's your reaction, I was waiting for that one. And it's nice to know that when I'm gone I've repeated myself enough that other people are repeating myself for me! I find it funny though how it just seems like Viz keeps digging itself a hole. Its got to be at least 6 feet now. And just for the record volume 5 is already out. It would be nice if more people tried to keep up on their info =P Google is your friend, I promise. You don't have to read every single post, but at least the one's on your page or the page before would be nice. That way there's less repetition. So its either read or search Google, either way gathering information yourself is greatly appreciated.

@NI - "Viz, Shigi is not Ziyi! I'm hunting your translator at this very moment. I shall send you his bloody head when I'm done. And if you, dear Gaian, call Shigi, Ziyi, we'll have more than one bloody head. That is, if I'm feeling nice." - It was something like that. No big difference. xd
@Manda - Yay, my love for Shigi is famous! xd And, wow, do you think Viz's hole is that small?
Volume... Five... Out... Must... Go... Japan... Fast... Buy... Manga... >_<

volume 5 is out? NOOO!!! It sucks to be an American when it comes to manga crying crying crying crying crying Is there a way to read the books without buying the japanese version and translating? Like i site that has the entire version in English? I'd google it but im really supposed to be doing science homework right now.(ewwwwww) I really should be doing that right now....oh yeah, and I think Takiko is a waaaaaay more orginal/better character then Miaka. Im so glad thar she can actually fight. No offense, but miaka was way to needy and weak for my tastes. I love how Takiko can hold her own in battle. umm...now to that science homework crying gonk xd (p.s. I fence)

The Manda And it's nice to know that when I'm gone I've repeated myself enough that other people are repeating myself for me! That made me laugh. n.n Takiko-chan: Aww, I like that one better! Even if there's not that much difference. So, I was going to read the translated version of volume 2 today... but decided I didn't feel like it. I'll read it tomorrow, maybe. Or the day after. Or something. My friend was reading it out loud today, and I was reminded that I like Uruki. (I'm calling him that in place of Rimudo. Partly because I like it better, and partly because there may be less confusion over names.)

dark_dragon_goddess volume 5 is out? NOOO!!! It sucks to be an American when it comes to manga crying crying crying crying crying Maybe for you o_O That's the beauty of having studied Japanese for almost seven years, you can read it. nekoluch:: Bi-monthly I thought, but yea, volume seven should be out sometime soon. I'm excited. Okay so it is tri-monthly, but always comes out the last week of the previous month... though according to volume six, Perfect World volume seven won't actually be out until the Spring of 2006. (Excuse me while I cry), but apparently there's a third drama CD coming out in that time, and it looks like they've started re-releasing Ayashi no Ceres in a special form. I just checked them out on Amazon Japan, the covers are really beautiful, and at 365 pages I think that's about a normal sized manga and a half perhaps. ' Takiko-chan:: Because you're waiting to let me give the first blow at least ^^

I started in high school and have been studying it since. There's just a great deal of Japanese businesses in Indiana so the interest in the language grew and so did the programs.

I've just read through all the posts and thought I'd post my two cents...
I don't like that Viz is changing all the names to their Chinese equivalents. I didn't like it in the original FY, and I certainly don't like it now. It makes things much more complicated, especially when the anime gets involved. If they were to produce an anime for FYGK, they would more than likely bring it over to the US. When Pioneer had the rights to the FY TV series and OAVs, they used the Japanese names. When I first got into FY, there were only 3 volumes of the manga out in English, so I ended up seeing the anime and looking at FY websites and learning the characters, places, and things by their Japanese names. To see them in Chinese is odd. It sort of makes sense to leave the names in Chinese, since the Universe of the Four Gods that Takiko, Suzuno, Miaka, and Yui used was a translation, but since Watase-sensei chose to make their names Japanese, Viz should leave them that way. stare
Anyway, another thing... I'm worried about the ending. We all know from the FY:SS arc that the end of Takiko's story is not a happy one, at least to outsiders. I'm hoping that the end is something like what Nakago_Chan posted... that Takiko will be able to be reborn in the book. Watase's stories always have happy endings, so a tragic ending would be even more tragic. crying Although wouldn't there be some record of it if she had been reborn? Genbu was summoned 200 years before Suzaku, so she would have had time to have a whole new life even if she hadn't been reborn right away.
I hope that made sense. sweatdrop

Thank you. Someone who took the time to read all the posts before posting. Finally!
If Takiko were reborn in the book, it's perfectly possible that she lived a completely un-noteworthy life and no one remembers. Or maybe she went off somewhere where no one could find her. ...If the Genbu story took place a whole 200 years before, how come there were Genbu warriors in the first Fushigi Yuugi? I've never thought of that before.... Anyways, I have limited time online today, so I have to run and do stuff.

You have a valid point about Takiko, though. But what if she remembered some of her former memories? In Eikou Den, that happened with the reincarnations of the Suzaku seishi.
