*Time passed and the group slept out in the field. The next morning they set out once more*

We should be in visual range of the city within two hours. We are almost there.
Ryudo kept walking. Thusfar, the morning had been slow and mostly uneventful. Whether it would remain that way later on was unknown.

Damrius glared at the sun. Pretty day, but too bright. Oh well.
What are the plans for when we get there, Ryudo?

The first order of business is to gain access to a Council Hearing on my brother, and then, to have him released by paying bail if necessary. After that, I'll leave what we do up to him, but if I know him as well as I believe I do, then he will want to get to the bottom of this case against him.
Ryudo spoke while walking, looking straight ahead. He didn't bother to turn around and address the party.

And... how do you plan to gain access? I mean.. I've never been to a court trial or anything of the sort... so... yeah... Explaining would be nice. Don't be like me. I'm the vague one here, not you.
Damrius said. It was true though.

Council Hearings are usually off limits to civilians, however, we, to use a human expression, "Have several Aces up our sleeve." Kobayashi is the daughter of Argus Kobayashi, one of the eight council members. We also have two members of the Ceremonial Guard traveling with us, and they can request a meeting with the council while it is in session. With them, it should be simple to gain access to the meetings.
Ryudo kept walking.

What are the odds though? I mean... Will they let humans like me and silver in?
Damrius asked this. He noticed the weird stares he had gotten, and it was probably because he was human. Almost like what happened when he walked into a town full of cat people...

"Damrius, I'm quite sure we'll be able to get through just fine. We aren't even civilians."
Silver turned and spoke to Angelous in the Draconic tounge, which presumably all but two people here could understand anyways.
"You especially shouldn't have any trouble, being a dragon yourself. Though its odd that everyone else wanders around in a humanoid form of some sort. You'd think they'd recognize such bodies as inferior."
He tilted his gaze towards Ryudo as he spoke that last bit, briefly.

Damrius Forgot bout that.. hehe.. Nevermind. But still... Do we have a plan B? I'll have to agree with ... him on this matter. We do not need a "Plan B". We have enough important individuals to guarantee access in some way. You need to learn to be more trusting of other people's judgements. Not everyone you meet is an imbecile. Chances are, if they are in a leadership position, they have weighed the odds of their decisions. I would like to see you grow a little in that capacity by the time we see my brother again. I'm sure he'll be pleased if you do.Ryudo glanced at Damrius. The boy was beginning to irritate him, but he calmed himself. Soon enough he wouldn't be his responsibility anymore.

Damrius nodded, and then stayed quiet.
I don't trust many people... And I don't think they are imbeciles. I know I'm probably the most imbecilic of us all here. But still... I'm getting the feeling something foul is waiting for us to get there... especially that Iris chick...
Damrius cursed under his breathe for that. If only he had gotten to Madison earlier...
That was in the past. Drop it. Holding onto the past was stupid. But letting it go completely was more stupid. He had to focus on the task ahead.

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr........" "Hssssssssst!" "GRAAAAAAAAAWR!!" Suddenly, without warning, three "Dinos" appeared, jumping out of the long grass and landing in front of the party! Each one about 5 feet tall. The four members closest to them were Silver, Dame, Vargus and Alysse. Luckily for the four members, they got to go first due to the speed difference...

Damrius would be the first to go.
He drew his sword quickly, and pulled in a cahrge of energy. he felt different with this. It was more powerful, and for that, thank god.
He stood in a ready defense mode, and started to move so he could flank the dinos.

Alysse grinned and drew her daggers. She then pulled in a small amount of energy and in one swift movement attacked with an ice shot that streaked across the field towards the middle dino.
Vargus looked a bit scared, but moved behind Silver and Aylsse. She wasn't the perfect warrior, but she could heal better than anyone else. She pulled in energy as well and waited to see what happened.

Silvers eyes shifted at the advancing creatures, putting his hand on his weapon. They mustn't be very bright specimens of their species, because they lost the element of surprize.
What the hell are raptors doing around here?
He non challantly walked towards the one closest to him.
