Westley takes a seat and sighs deeply.
"I don't know what I could tell you, seriously...."

"I'm not asking you to tell me all your secerets," Lael says. "I mean, there are things about me that you don't know. Just... Tell me the truth. I feel like I know you, but I don't know anything about you."

He nods and, noticing that the dry space is large enough to lie down on, lies down.
"Well, I could tell you about why I'm a cougar..."
The tawny haired man closes his eyes, "I've not been a cougar for life. I was on a vacation with my family when a cougar attacked me. He slashed me up and I thought that I would die because of the attack. However, I somehow was able to take his DNA and form it to my own, makng my cougar form. There are times that I want to get away from my cougar self, but I can't."

Lael listens pensively. She brings her knees up to her chest as she says quietly, "And you've been part cougar ever since. It's such a strange story. I've never heard anything like it."

He sighs, "My parents didn't want me - a mutant. I ended up in a village a few years later. That's where I met Sam, the one who you reminded me of."
Opening his eyes, he gazes at Lael and remembers how she reminded him of Sam.
"She was my friend and was going to be my wife, but I wasn't ready for a spouse. I wanted to tell her about my cougar half though I couldn't find the heart or the courage to tell her. I loved her so much but couldn't tell her."

Lael tightens her grip on her knees, bringing them closer to her, thinking of how lucky she is that her parents still wanted her even though she is an albino. She looks into Westley's eyes, trying to imagin how it would have been if they had rejected her, and can easily see why he couldn't tell Sam what he was after that.

The mutant averts his eyes as he says, "Couldn't tell Sam, but she knew something was different about me. She cornered me one day, when we were already engaged, and kept asking me to either tell her or to take her to bed before marriage.
"I didn't feel comfortable doing either and I told her to stop pressing it on me. She didn't. I was afraid that my claws would come out in her presence, as I felt them readying to extend."
He rubs his hands, releasing a few of his claws on his right hand (the hand away from Lael). He sighs and closes his eyes.
"She kept insisting so I pushed her away, my claws extending as I pushed her away. ...I killed her with my claws, though I didn't try to..."

Lael takes his left hand in hers, not sure what to say. "You didn't mean to, Westley. It was an accident," is the best she can do, although she knows that he has probably told himself the same thing many times.

He nods and says, glancing at her hand, "I know that it was an accident but the village didn't believe me. They called me a murderer and shot at me with flaming arrows. Since I was in cougar form, they singed my burned my skin when they singed my fur. Hence, I have scars on my back."
Again closing his eyes, he says, "They caught me and tortured me, even branded me."
The claws on his right hand retract and he lowers his left shoulder sleeve to show her the brand - a brand that looks like a copyright symbol but with a "B" instead of a "C."
"I managed to escape, but her father's been chasing me ever since then."

Lael looks at the brand. "And that's why you asked me to tell my father not to hurt you when you thought I was Sam at the inn," she says softly.

"No. Not unless there's anything you want to tell me. I'm sure it was hard enough just telling me this much," Lael says.

Again the man nods and, since she knows his other form, lets his tail go. He lies on his stomach, swishing his tail in the air as he debates on stuff.
'What do I want to tell her? What can I tell her?'
His tail still flipping around in a controlled manner, he says, "You're one of the few who I have been able to tell about myself without fear. First female, noteably."
((OOC: I have no idea what to post on the other threads so I'll wait for a bit..))

Lael blushes slighty and she smiles, watching his tail move. "Thank you. It feels good to know you can trust me with so large of a secret," she says. "Does anyone else here know? Besides Nathan, I mean."

He smiles into arm, as he is on his stomach, when he hears her gratitude.
'I wonder if I made her blush. ...and I would be if I was in her spot, though I'm shocked that I'm not blushing in her presence already.'
"If the others know, they haven't shown it. I think that it's just you and Nathan that know. I'm fine with that for now."
He pauses, tensing for a second then relaxing, before saying, "You were right when you said that I reminded you of a cat in that spa. Now you know the reason."
