Manthius backed away from the first two slash attacks made towards it's chest. The creature made a quick dash towards the side of Ugu, avoiding the stabbing attack that would have hit him. "Is that all you have after all this time of fighting shinigami?" Manthius asked.

Now facing the side of Ugu, Manthius moved it's chest inwards towards Ugu and attempted to catch Ugu in between his arms and finish him with a bear hug-like pincer attack.

Ugu bent down--dodging the attack made by the hollow with one simply and efficient move. However, even though it was a quick and simplistic dodge, it didn't possess the same amount of 'umpfh' that the other times had. The wounds caused by the hollow earlier began to take their toll on the flesh of the lone shinigami. He coughed up some blood, and spat a thick wad of reddish-yellow from his mount unto the bloodied grass beneath him.
"... Funbo Reizu..." Those wounds sewed themselves like a torn fabric into a seamless carpet. He shifted back, away from the two massive hands belonging to the monster, and stood up. He rushed to the left this time, raising his large zampakutou over his head. Ugu brought down his blade upon the hollow three times in quick succession. While he did this he roared uncontrollably--something he rarely ever did. It was odd for him. The feeling he was being subjected to right now he had never felt before.
It was odd.

Manthius moved it's arms simutaneously as Ugu swung his blade down upon him, blocking them on contact. The shinigami was gaining momentum, how was this possible? He had been taking hits far more than Manthius had. "Tell me shinigami, how do you still fight, with all those wounds?" the hollow asked with it's menacing voice.

He waited for a reply before he leaped into the air and with both his scythe-like arms, aimed downwards in hope of skewering Ugu onto them.

"Your guess, hollow, is as good as mine," he said whilst he took a step back. The man shifted away from the monster's strange mandibles and swung his six foot long zanpakutou at Manthius' arms. His initial strike was followed by two more, which probably wouldn't do too much to the hollow's 'weapons'.
As he struck out at the hollow he spoke. His speaking skills were not up to par as they normally were. His mind was pumping with adrenaline and a thick stream of sweat poured from his pony-tailed hair. "Actually.. .. I'm fighting because you attacked me. I continue to fight because I know you'll remove my existence, therefore removing my purpose.. And, oddly enough, my current purpose is to find a purpose..."

The hollow was hit pretty hard and took some major damage from the previous attack but now that it had recovered from the attack and was capable of moving without that much pain. Manthius merely flicked the swings of Ugu away from his arms. He then began applying pressure and moved in further into Ugu's range but also leaving barely any room to escape an attack.

As Manthius approached his right dominant scythe-like arm came zooming in toward's Ugu's right shoulder hoping to pierce it and disable it. The left arm followed shortly going for the other shoulder. "A shinigami without a purpose? How strange...but either way, you won't need to worry about anything any longer!!!" it shouted as blood drizzled down from it's multiple wounds.

"..." Zenmaru remained silent as he tried to dodge the monster's attack. His left shoulder was able to escape the slashing scythe-arm of the hollow, but was slashed by the hollow's monstrous right arm. A tearing sound ripped from the man's clothing as the scythe tore skin and cloth as it slashed downward. A splatter of blood spurted from the long cut that etched itself from Ugu's right shoulder all the way down to his hips.
Not yet disheartened Zenmaru pushed forward once more. He quickly swung his blade once more to attack the monster's chest--hopefully to hit its tar-like flesh.

Manthius noticing that Ugu was begining to build momentum again began withdrawing from the battle field. He begun jumping backwards away from Ugu. This would enable him to buy some time to heal up.

Zenmaru refused to allow the hollow even a moment's rest. The hollow seemed to be regenerating its body, as shown by how its wounds seemed to be writhing back into its original shape. It wasn't a speedy regeneration, though. With a mighty frown upon his face the monster of a shinigami burst forward--with his blade shining with its blood covered radiance.
Within a moment he was upon the hollow again, with his zanpakutou raised high. With his ferocity still dwelling within his eyes, and his adrenaline pumping, Zenmaru moved to hack randomly at the hollow.

The first blow that came towards Manthius hit him hard, right into the right shoulder. The blade cut a nice flesh wound. Manthius tugged away from the weapon just in time to dodge two more sucessions of attacks. And once again, he began retreating to recover.
