Well I just started twirling in June so... But I caught on super fast! I plan on getting a rifle by th end of this year and performing it by winterguard. Yeah, doubles....those are dumb and therefore must die. I finally FINALLY got it and then they took it out of our routine...

I'm GOP, and love doing guard.
I'm in the marching band during fall season, but do winterguard. I did it during my sophmore year in high school, but had to take junior off. This year, though I so have a spot on the team this year. My instructor says he expects a 'six' on rifle when I come back. Can't wait. =D
Oh, by the way, I'm the only guy in my school who has the balls to do guard. Yay. surprised

Yay. surprised We actually had a guy who wanted to tryout for guard and our band director wouldn't let him. scream She can be very frustrating. Anyway, I've been in guard for two years now. We don't have a winterguard so I only get to perform during football season. I've yet to use I rifle ( must steal one from guard room), but I really want to use one. Our guard seems to like using odd equipment. The year before I started they used umbrellas, last year we used gold hats to dance with, this year we used feather boas. After we leave the field It looks like someone murdered Big Bird. crying

Neko Kafweenu If I ever just spin near anyone, not work, just drop spins or rifle spins, they'll freak out and think I'm gonna hit them, when I'm doing the easiest thing possible, and I have control over it. rolleyes I scare the crap outta them. It kills me that people seem to walk towards me as soon as I start doing something instead of away. I want to hit them just to teach them a lesson

Neko Kafweenu It's kinda the same with the percussion line, too. If a band/guard member toughes ANY of their equipment, for ANY reason, will most likely get yelled at. At our school one of our duties that we rotate during football season is pit duty. We have to help carry all of their crap out to the practice field, but at any other time our band director will yell at you for messing with other section's stuff.

Yay, i'm new here. But I am a 2 & 1/2 year guard chick. I love it. We actually have two guys in our guard and we have been to state finals six in six! (years) woot... heart

Eugh. Here's my guard story.
I'm Co-Captains with my best friend, here in our Junior year.
Been on Colorguard since Freshman year.
We've had 2 coaches since i've been on guard.
both have screwed us over.
We gave up on coaches.
Now we're doing everything for ourselves.
We have 3 diff kinds of flags.
Rifles.
REALLY want sabres and chain flags.
wear really crappy outfits that dont fit.
shoes that hurt (like all the rest)
man, i love guard.

I hope I am in the right place...I march clarinet, but due to my eight years of intense dance training before high school, I am captian of our winterguard dance line. I have to learn rifle and flag for it though and so far I have proved to be the clumsiest spinner you will ever meet. And the first rehersal is tomorrow. I am extatic with excitement. And at the same time packing ice and advil. It's going to be a long night. So...Um...Yeah...HI!

Heh, yeah I'm not so good.... my arms are black and blue! But saber is so much fun! But then again rifle is my baby! ^^ This year our Winter Guard is doing the song "Nature Boy" by Kurt Elling and we are going to Dayton, Ohio! WGI Worlds! I'm so excited!!

Saber is love. I'm getting a saber solo for winterguard (don't really like winterguard *whistles* sweatdrop ) To much drama for me, but I did it anway so i could be captin for my last year.
OH, I also love meh fan. It is awesome and makes a loud *POP* when you snap it open... I wanna use it again
