I was really sad and all, (I cried...) and it made me hate Sephiroth even more, but like some other posts said, it added to the game. It sucked that the best healer that ever happened died, but it isn't like other games where the characters you love are alive and well and live happily ever after. I'm not sure how to say it, but it made FFVII a more emotional game...

Aeris had a lot of things going for her. She was pretty, considerate, tough and kindhearted at the same time. (Speaking of tough....has anyone messed up the show when you took her on the Golden Saucer date? Ha ha, it was hilarious when she got mad). Anyhow, Aeris was always there for Cloud, not just because he looked like Zack, but because she actually made an effort to get to know him.
I'm not flaming Tifa (I don't hate her, I just don't like her), but I think Aeris was a lot better with her relationship skills because she didn't make herself out to get Cloud to notice her. She was quiet, sensitive, and fought as best she could. I had no complaints with Aeris. I know lots of people like Tifa better, but I respect people's opinions and let them say what they want. I, however, always thought Aeris was best. Aeris, you'll always be in my memory as the kick-a** female lead (or one of the female leads, anyway).

Sorry, some may not have found that funny. I laughed at my own joke...
Aeris was my favorite. I was pissed when she died.
And, by the way, Great Gospel was easy as Hell to get. OmniSlash is the one that took forever.
Don't comment on that last bit. I don't want anyone getting off topic.

Some guy on the interview asked Nomura why he created Tifa to look the way she did....he blushed and didn't answer. One of the crew members said that he liked "long-haired, busty women," and Nomura started laughing. When he was prompted to talk about Aeris, he said that he wanted her to be the complete opposite of Tifa. HA, more proof that Nomura liked Aeris better.

However, according to the FF7 compilation catalog that was issued in Japan this year, Nomura stated that Cloud and Tifa were the intended couple, BUT, he wanted to put more emphasis on Cloud and Aeris. Nomura stated that he would have liked Aeris to have been with Cloud, but her death put a certain significance on the outcome of the game. So technically, yes, he liked Aeris better, even though Tifa was originally chosen as the female lead.
