Vivienne was one of many grimms awoken from the great cache under Asphodel Academy. The caregivers at the school gave her all of the attention and love she could ask for, but she didn't ask for much. Vivienne's natural strength helped her establish herself from a young age, allowing her to instead protect those that were weaker. Whether it came from an internal sense of justice or a simple hatred for jerks, Vivienne would always defend the other cache children from bullies. No one wanted to pick fights with the lovable and patient grimm - it felt like fighting against the teachers and their kind but patronising smiles. Of course, if anyone was immune to her swagger, she could come out on top of a fight if necessary. By applying herself, Vivienne swept through school, excelling mostly in debate classes and, to some of her teachers' surprise, chemistry. Vivienne's patience and confidence was a perfect combination for experiments, although it was slightly troubling that she never gave any control to group memebrs or even the teachers. When she graduated from the Academy, there was a glint in Vivienne's eyes; she beleived she was destined for greatness, and she wouldn't stop until she got it.
Vivienne attended Asterion straight out of school, loving chemistry more than any of her other classes. She picked up a part-time job bartending as she studied, and through hard work and only a handful of hours of sleep a night, she saved enough to rent a trendy studio apartment in Asphodel. Seeing as it was just a way to make money, Vivienne was surprised by how much she enjoyed bartending. The mixing of the ingredients to invent new drinks was inspiring, but engaging with dozens of new people a night was even better. Within a year she'd shifted the focus of her studies and knew what she would do: open her own club, serving drinks she invented to people she'd dance with every night. Her dream seemed ambitious to her peers, but nothing seemed out of reach to the ambitious grimm. Putting in countless hard hours and charming conversations with her professors, Vivienne graduated in the top of her class from Asterion. Without wasting a day she enrolled in college, wanting to gain a firm grasp on building and running a business. She'd become invaluable at the bar she worked at - it had become more popular than it had ever been thanks to her unique concoctions.
Finding the classes at community college somewhat easier, Vivienne had more spare time during her business studies to explore the club scene. Any night she could spare from work she'd be at a different bar or club, making connections and studying her future competition. By the time she graduated college, Vivienne was practically bursting from ideas and excitement - her long, patient hours of work and study were finally going to pay off and help realise her dream. She had saved an incredible amount from bartending (and tips), but was also offered dozens of 'sponsors' from other clubs if she promised to make them signature drinks and promote their offers. Within a month, Vivienne had opened her club - Juice. It is a vibrant club with several differently themed rooms, hoping to cater to everybody. Vivienne tends the bar herself, selling her drink of the month and happily chatting with customers. Juice has been open for almost a year now, and it has already become one of the most popular clubs in the area, particularly for upbeat club-goers. With its growing popularity, Vivienne was forced to leave the bartending for employees so she could do more 'boss work', but she can still be found on the main dancefloor most nights.

vivienne attended most events hosted by her community college, always wanting to make connections where possible. one such event was a familiar adoption day and learning how the friendly companions could boost productivity and creativity. vivienne wasn't convinced by all that, but she was enchanted by viniq the minute she saw him. the fennekit had an aura of quiet power - exactly what she thought a blackhole would feel like. vivienne adopted him as quickly as she could and has never regretted her decision. while viniq can be fleeting, he's surprisingly obedient for a fennekit, to the point where vivienne was able to take him to classes and even occasionally to work. with juice open, viniq can often be found lazing on the bar or skipping around feet on the dancefloor.

Perla was born to two ambitious and succesful entrepreneurs - Lady Lindora and Sir Leo. While her mother came from small beginnings, she and her father have created something of an empire in the chocolatiere and dessert world. Their three children have always been showered with love, and Perla could not be more grateful for her family. Not having to face any obstacles as a child usually creates an air of entitlement, but there never appeared to be a malicious bone in Perla. Her soft and kind demeanour are very appealing to teachers and other children, but she has a streak of humour hiding under the surface. As a child, Perla enjoyed playing harmless pranks on her parents and siblings, such as replacing sugar with salt or changing the time on clocks. No one could stay mad at her for long, though, as she just giggled innocently.
Perla was both nervous and excited to attend Asphodel Academy. She had spent so much time with her family, it was nerve-wracking to not have that support around as much as she desired. To her delight, she quickly made friends at school, despite being something of a teacher's pet. Learning something new everyday seemed like a dream, and every day she came home to gush to her parents the new things she had learned. Of course, being surrounded by sweets your whole life does somewhat shape your interests, and Perla has taken to helping out her parents in the kitchen. Naturally, they are delighted by their child's eagerness to become a part of their legacy, and Perla has shown to be particularly delicate with her sugarwork even as a child. Besides playing the harp and learning lessons on manners, most of Perla's time is dedicated to improving her baking skills and techniques. Currently she has no greater desire than to become just like her parents.

perla never yearned for companionship, but her parents were interested in teaching their children responsibility - after all, how else could they hope to become succesful themselves and make their own businesses? her loving parents said the children could choose any familiar they wanted, and much to everyone's shock perla immediately chose a bunyip. her parents were slightly off-put at first - you couldn't even take the creatures to an academy dorm, but they were certainly good familiars for learning responsibility. perla couldn't help but fall in love with neo and his delicious colours, and she now spends most of her afternoons playing with the bunyip and grooming him. she has even convinced her parents to source accessories and familiar clothing from upcoming designers. neo is gentle and willing to be pampered, but as soon as he's released into the yard he's an energetic ball of fun.

lady lindora and sir leo perla's loving parents, the freshling definitely idolises lindora and leo. she believes they are incredible and flawless, and as a result she feels she has a lot to live up to. her parents have never given any indication they could ever be disappointed in her, but it is definitely perla's biggest fear. she hopes to stay close to her parents forever and not let 'growing up' come in the way of their family unit.

Lily was awakened during the Hallows, but the carers at the Academy commented that she must have been imbued in Spring. The giggling, joyful infant hardly ever cried and was told she was one of the most well-behaved orphans they'd ever been given. Lily never knew her parents, and the caregivers at the Academy had no information to offer, she was simply abandoned at their doors on a cold Autumn night. The hallowed child never showed any sign of resentment about this, but privately she spent many a night sobbing over her abandonment. Without having parents to please or idolise, Lily was forced to find approval within herself or with her fellow children. She quickly became a kind and generous girl, feeling a true happiness when she could better the circumstances of others. She discovered that there were few things that were universally loved, but the most well-received gift she presented to others were a gift from nature; flowers. Lily would often explore the Academy grounds and local parks, scouring the trees and bushes for beautiful flowers to give to her friends and teachers. She developed a keen eye for what colours worked together and which species grew best in certain seasons. Of course, she always made sure to only take limited cuttings from wild bushes - harming the environment would devastate her.
As she progressed through school, Lily began to acknowledge her mutations. They had never been much of a problem as a child, and her caregivers made sure not to make her feel unwelcome for her appearance. Fortunately, her tail Honeydew was a soft and loving tail, and most people saw her as a delightful product of being a hybrid. Lily never felt the need to make close friends, as she could happily spend her time socialising with Honeydew and decorating her with flowers. Her delicate flower crowns and choice of colour combinations had other shades requesting her to accessorise their tails, and soon Lily was known as the soft, kind flower girl. Having her best friend attached to her was comforting for Lily, and any time she felt angry or sad she could just vent to Honeydew rather than show those negative emotions to others. While she is still studying at the Academy, Lily has already obtained an apprenticeship at a local florist to hone her flower arranging and develop a deeper understanding of her passion.

honeydew found chia while lily was picking flowers, the tail intrigued by the little creature darting between the bushes. lily was so distracted by what she was doing, she didn't even notice the jackalope tail twitching its nose at the flitterat, who in turn delicately approached the creature ten times it size. it wasn't until she felt some weight on her tail that lily finally realised what was happening - the familiar had settled itself on honeydew's head, nestling into one of her horns. lily fell in love immediately, and chia has been with them ever since. while the flitterat can sometimes knock over a vase or nibble at a flower, lily still enjoys having him around her workspace.

Fallow was awakened into a turbulent household, where tensions are high beneath a surface of forced harmony. Fallow's father, Chris, had already imbued previously, much to the silent frustration of Fallow's mother Clare. The introspective freshling acknowledged early on that his life was probably a result of Clare trying to strengthen the relationship with her partner, and unfortunately it seems as though Fallow's half-brother Sebastian has realised the same thing. Clare was something of an overbearing mother, determined to have her son love her where Sebastian doesn't. She insisted on spending as much time with him as possible, both one on one and with his father. Conversely, Chris feared his second son becoming like his first - constantly pushing boundaries and showing no respect. This translated to Chris spending more time with Fallow and setting strict rules and punishments. This extra attention shown to Fallow delighted Sebastian at first, glad to finally be left alone. As the years went on and the two grew older, however, he began to grow bitter. This resulted in him striking out at his half-brother and refusing to develop a relationship with him. All of these strained relationships has forced Fallow to retreat within himself, simply pleasing his parents when necessary but otherwise finding happiness and purpose within himself.
Fallow was relieved to attend his first day at the Academy, eager to make friendships outside of his family. Unfortunately, he had never truly been exposed to how the world reacts to more disturbing mutations such as his, and he was taken aback by the way other children actively avoided him. The skull tail mutation was rarely-documented, and his tail Vord had long, sharp antlers to add to the macabre appearance. Despite being kind and unobtrusive, Fallow was unable to make any close friends in his classes, but it didn't take long for him to submit to his fate. He had already been used to finding peace within himself, so he accepted that he would simply spend his time studying at school rather than worry about friendships. One of his teachers noticed this self-isolation and, concerned, sat Fallow down to discuss it one day. The freshling was coy, not used to having anyone pry into his emotions. Realising Fallow wasn't much of a talker, the teacher suggested that he write down his thoughts and feelings instead. This conversation has now sparked Fallow's love for poetry, although he is careful to hide his musings from his always-concerned mother.

clare fallow's loving but overbearing mother, clare is determined to have a strong relationship with her son. the child knows how dearly his mother loves him, so he smiles through all her forced parenting. it isn't subtle that fallow prefers his mother to his father, and he hopes that as he grows older clare will grow more comfortable in her role as a mother and that their relationship will develop organically. the only fear fallow has is of his mother discovering some of his poetry that discusses issues involving her.
chris fallow's fun-loving but strict father, chris has already had one 'failed' attempt at parenting and is hoping to not repeat the issues. a lack of boundaries caused sebastian to develop little respect for his parents, and so chris is taking less of a 'pal' approach to parenting fallow and hoping to be more of a father figure. fallow appreciates his father's attempt to be a role model for him, but chris' hot-and-cold approach has caused the child to grow somewhat fearful of his father. fallow never knows what to expect with chris, and as a result he mostly avoids him if possible.
sebastian fallow's macabre half-brother, sebastian hasn't known his other parents his entire childhood and seems somewhat resentful of his brother for this. sebastian used to have clare fighting for his love and attention, but now that it has been moved to fallow, he has grown bitter towards his brother. fallow hopes that sebastian overcomes this needless hatred one day, as he believes the two of them could become close and be true brothers for one another.
