It's dessert time!
APPLE CRUMBLE! A la Nova!.... Ironically this recepie is one I worked out entirely without aid. ENJOY MY TOIL.
6 Honeycrisp or your preferred large pink or red apple (Galas work, as do most flavorful apples. The Honeycrisp is my favoriute)
t TBSP Clove powder 1 TBSP Ginger powder 1 TBSP Cinnamon 1 tsp Salt 2 TBSP Brown sugar Honey to taste 2 Cups Flour 1 Stick butter 1 Cup sugar; Sugar in the Raw or Splenda also work. Mexican sugar is even better.
Preheat oven to 450. Slice apples into slices of your preferred thickness/what you have available. Peeling is optional. DO NOT include core at all. Mix in cloves, ginger, cinnamon, brown sugar, honey, and a small portion of flour, and sugar until apples begin to 'exude' liquid. Pour apple mixture into an 8x6 pan or similar size. Basically, a cassarole. 1-inch thick is ideal.
In the bowl your apple mix was in, mix remaining flour, butter, and sugar. DO NOT wash the bowl between. You want that sweet apply juicy goodness! Once the consistency is somewhere between rice and dry oatmeal, poul mixture on top of apples. Bake immediately 45 minutes 0or until golden brown, checking at 30 minutes, and every 5 minutes after the 45 minute mark.
SAFELY remove from oven and serve hot or cooled with either your favorite grated cheddar oir a scoop of vanilla. Also quite delicious plain!
