Thornwick 'Almost'? wink With Nilead enjoying the new addition to his family, I've been extra busy updating event details, here and at my other guild. I was considering my mule, but I thought that would be putting an unfair advantage for the raffle so I stowed the thought. Even now, the snowballs are coming too quickly to update my stats so that they're current. That's alright--I'm actually not enjoying the possibility of winning my own prizes; it happened at my other guild (stayed out of participation and stuck to managing them instead). Maybe next time--if we ever do this again--we can create preset snippits, lol. You definitely deserved the prizes for the Nutcracker tektek contest though. They were fun to admire~ whee

Calacie Darkerdemons <.< Are you still taking extra charms for the event? No, do you want some? I'm currently gifting out packs but I don't have that are unwrapped. I don't need any, but I remembered you were helping others out. I can give you what I got today if you want? heart

Darkerdemons You definitely deserved the prizes for the Nutcracker tektek contest though. They were fun to admire~ whee I admit, they were fun to make. x3 ^^ But I bought the prizes with every intention to give away; not to keep. I may be doing the same for the writing contest, soon. Maybe add them to the raffle: six prizes instead of three.

Adding the prizes to the raffle sounds good.

Darkerdemons We've got some overlapping interests in movies/TV shows, so how about books? emotion_awesome Ahhh there I might fall over. Because I read and do research all day at work, when I read at home now it's complete cabbage. As in "could be read by a cabbage". Which is quite depressing because I used to read everything I could get my hands on and loved working my way through the classics. Now some days I think that "Run Spot, Run" might be about all I can cope with lol.

That is all.

Books? Not too sure anymore, to be honest. I'm not someone who's read over a 1000 books, but on a good year I can read 40 books and feel proud about it; nowadays, months can go by before I finish one. I've been having a hard time finding books to read.

Which is quite depressing because I used to read everything I could get my hands on and loved working my way through the classics. Now some days I think that "Run Spot, Run" might be about all I can cope with lol. When I started taking psychology courses I was reading the psychology textbook like I would a novel. Didn't do as much novel reading. The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat by Oliver Sacks was recommended by a professor and I enjoyed that book. whee Now that I'm done school (until I figure out what I want to specialize in), I'm back to devouring action/mystery novels. Most frequently read authors: Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (The Cabinet of Curiosities) Daniel Silva ( heart Gabriel Allon novels) Robert Ludlum ( heart The Covert-One novels) Anthony Horowitz (Skeleton Key).
My mother used to read the Redwall series by Brian Jacques to me; I've re-read the books so many times (even now) that most of the paperbacks are in tatters. I've been angling to borrow a book by Stephen King from the library. Speaking of Preston and Child, Santa got me an autographed Blue Labyrinth for Christmas with a short note from Douglas Preston. whee As soon as I'm done Last Snow by Eric Van Lustbader I can dig into it. You know most of what I got for Christmas now, lol, what did you get? razz

Darkerdemons May I have 2 tickets for December 28th please? ninja #45 Dec. 28th, 2014 - Darkerdemons #46 Dec. 28th, 2014 - Darkerdemons emotion_drool An autograph copy?! Very lucky~ Let's see, so far: large package of Almond and Cashew Roca, Christmas ornaments (a bunch of mine got ruined during the move), from Tenvin--a Samsung Tab 4 (only because my curse with electronics claimed the Tab 3), from D--a Supernatual tee ("Carry On My Wayward Son") and knee-socks with the Winchester tattoo design, from Betty--a Supernatural-themed checkbook wallet. Authors/Books that I do enjoy: Preston & Child (Agent Pendergast series) Daniel Silva (Gabriel Allon series) Weiss & Hickman (The Deathgate Cycle series) Tolkien (The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings series--and I'm trying to breech the first few pages of the Silmarillion). Books I'm reading right now (or at least, trying to): The Confessor by Daniel Silva The Monuments Men --Robert M. Edsel & Bret Witter The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien The Heavens Rise by Christopher Rice (Anne Rice's son)
